Greta Investigates … 10 Years Later, The Death and Disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba … However, Monkeys Know that Joran van der Sloot Lies

On Saturday night Greta Van Susteran did a 10 year later review of the death and disappearance of Natalee Holloway on Aruba. Although there was not a lot of new material, Greta Investigates nicely summarized the case, while also having Beth Holloway and some of Natalee’s friends from that fateful trip to Aruba in 2005 talk about their lives, feelings and memories of Natalee. Its ten years later and Natalee’s friends have graduated college and are on with their lives. Sadly that is something that Natalee Holloway was never allowed to do because of a terrible chance encounter with Joran Van der Sloot on her final night in the island of Aruba. However, it seems to hardly have been a chance encounter after all.

Greta Investigates:

On the 10-year anniversary of Natalee Holloway’s disappearance, “Greta Investigates” takes a new look at the teenager’s last days while on a high school graduation trip on the Caribbean island of Aruba.

Greta Van Susteren traveled to the island with Natalee’s mother Beth Holloway to investigate the bizarre twists and countless lies that have plagued this mysterious case from the start.

And you’ll learn how the teen’s suspected killer, Joran van der Sloot, was almost caught in an FBI sting operation, but instead slipped out of Aruba and fled to Peru. He is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence for killing college student Stephany Flores on the 5-year anniversary of Natalee’s disappearance.

However, when many on Aruba defended Joran Van der Sloot, an Aruba LE that was at best incompetent and at worst corrupt. An American media that was all too often more worried about the next big salacious story rather than investigative journalism as the Natalee Holloway story was the missing person case heard round the world. At times it felt like there were more media folks in Aruba than tourists.  However, throughout the search for Natalee Holloway and the obstacles put up by the Aruba legal system, the police, the tourism board, the Van der Sloot family and those looking to protect Joran … Scared Monkeys knew from the beginning that Joran Van der Sloot was lying. Although Greta has done fine work over the years and continues to keep the case in the spot light to hopefully one day provide Justice for Natalee, we at Scared monkeys were never inclined to believe him. Joran Van der Sloot was a pathological liar and a sociopath.

      LOVING NATALEE – BETH HOLLOWAY

Page 149: My arms rest on top of the investigation notebook I carry with me all the time. Natalee’s reward poster with her picture on it is inside the front clear cover, in plain view. Paulus’ arms are on the table. Our knuckles are only inches apart. His arms are shaking. His fists are clenched.

“You’re responsible for Aruba being trapped in hell,” I tell him, still calm. “You can change that. But Aruba will stay in a perpetual state of hell until you come forward.” …

Page 150-151: Pulling a couple of prayer bracelets out of my pocket. I offer them to the van der Sloots. First I tie one on Anita’s arm, then ask Paulus if he would like one. He lifts his clench-fisted arm, shaking as if he has Parkinson’s disease, and tries very hard to hold it up. What a pathetic form of a man he is, I think — a very different person from the one who stood so brazenly in his front yard in the wee hours that first morning facing down Aruban police and our men from home. I take my time tying the bracelet, very, very slowly, and explain the meaning of the three cords of yarn.

“Paulus, this bracelet stands for a Bible verse. It’s Ecclesiasties 4:12. “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” I finish the tying and gently pat the knot. “There you go.”

And right then the bracelet looks different to me. I see the three cords as the suspects, and the knot at the end holding them together as Paulus. It’s not just clear — it’s crystal clear. There are potentially four people who know what happened to Natalee. WE NEED THE KNOT TO COME LOOSE AND THE THREE CORDS TO UNRAVEL.

When the cords of the bracelet unravel … not only are those involved in the happenings encompassing the disappearance of Natalee going to go down … so are all those who furthered the cover up that has prevent justice from prevailing.

      THE PERSISTENCE ENDEAVOUR

      According to Natalee’s uncle:

      Private Eye – March 1, 2008

“I hope that the Persistence has not done all of this work and gone to all of this expense only to have gotten itself into an arrangement whereby Aruban divers are the ones who actually verify the targets and are the first ones to physically retrieve evidence, with no American divers physically with them. If so, all I can say is I just can’t believe this has happened. But surely I am wrong.”

      Private Eye – April 9, 2008

“If I understood Kyle correctly, and that would be that the Arubans retrieved and possessed all finds, not sharing anything with the crew, then that effort was a waste of time and effort. The only thing it could have accomplished was to locate additional evidence for the Arubans to destroy. I am not sure if that was the protocol out of Aruba’s waters though. The effort was superb, but the game was fixed.”

The writing was on the wall from the get go. Aruban Justice was not going to prevail for Natalee Holloway.

      ++++

      Nancy Grace – October 4, 2005

NANCY GRACE, HOST: Jossy, regarding the connection, what I perceived to be a close connection between the judge, Paulus Van Der Sloot and the retired chief of police who initially handled Natalee`s case, Van Der Stratten, were they friends?

JOSSY MANSUR: Of course, they were friends. It stands to reason they were friends because Paul Van Der Sloot had many friends within the police department; he had many friends within the Department of Justice. And he had many friends with — and he was friendly with all the judges in Aruba. He worked out of the same office as they did and did the same work.

Natalee’s uncle saw the writing on the wall but his warning to the Captain of the Persistence was all in vain … the Captain of the Persistence who furthered the cover up that was preventing justice from prevailing for Natalee Holloway when he afforded the contents of the trap to the Aruban enemy.

      +++++

      Private Eye – March 13, 2008

“Unfortunately, those trusted with the evidence of the investigation were not good stewards of the evidence. Evidence has been destroyed, search activities delayed with no site protection accomplished by the authorities, and interrogations have been stopped at key points and the person being interrogated allowed to be counseled by parents and attorneys, and interrogations have been stopped just short of key questions being asked when the flow of good information was beginning to come out.

Prisoners being isolated have been furnished cell phones and communication has been allowed to occur between locked up and the free.

Sharing information with people who work for people who are directly orchestrating the cover up, Rudy, or the Dutch, is the most irresponsible investigating I can imagine. What kills this investigation is people having to come into it, wanting to apply basic investigatory protocols into place, and then having those channels sabotage the new evidence that the new players discover. Of course, as is happened everytime in this case, the new people eventually come to a point where the manipulation of the evidence is undeniable, but by then the fruits of their work are gone, and there is simply another member of the believers of the cover up group. What I pray that Kyle and the crew of the Persistence will determine, is that regardless of how hard working the man that they are working with appears to work, his work belongs to Rudy, and Rudy belongs to the local dutch.

We are not hysterical, ignorant, paranoid people. We have seen the cover up in action, in broad daylight, with impunity, and if you disregard our warnings, you will become the next chump in a series of chumps, no matter how sophisticated your equipment, the level of your educational achievement, or the extent of your job skills and work history.”

Many of us have followed the disappearance of Natalie Holloway. It’s very painstaking to review the history of what happened to Natalee. I think now it’s of a bigger importance to investigate this new eyewitness, so he claims to be. We only have a wee bit of information concerning his statement.

If you remember when Beth and Judd arrived at the Van der Sloot home the next day, along with the police, Joran was not there. Paulus made a phone call and Joran and Deepak showed up covered in dust and dirt but said they were at the casino. Of course, another lie. Then way later in the story Joran extorted money from Beth stating he put Natalie at a construction site but of course, another lie, he gave the name of the wrong site. Is it possible that this new witness is telling the truth. Why is the area restricted so Dave Holloway, his detective and cadaver dog cannot investigate? Dave went a long way for nothing.

However, the witness must of been convincing. But why was he there at this construction site and saw Joran in the dark at 2:am and why wait for 10 yrs to report it. He must of been fairly close to have seen Joran chase her into the building, then carried her out, threw her on the ground and then put her into a crawl space.

Actually there may be some truth to all of this:
      1. Joran and Deepak covered in dust and
dirt the next morning when they met Beth.
Maybe they went back to the site and
buried Natalee in the crawl space.
      2. Remember Deepak said she fell and hit her
head. Maybe she did running away from
      Joran.
      3. Why was Deepak washing his car in the
early morning while it was still dark
      the night Natalee disappeared. Probably
because it was all dirty from being at
      the construction site.
      4. Deepak said they dropped Natalee off at
the Holiday Inn, maybe they did but not
at the lobby door. It was the area
      that was under construction.

It’s a shame that Natalee’s family cannot find out the real truth of what happened. They certainly deserve to have closure and an account of what really happened to Natalee, they have all tried so hard. Joran, the scum dirt bag will never tell.
