      This is not new. In the late 1980′s it became clear that many of the recruits to the NFL could not make good decisions about their life. The issue then was drugs and staying away from businesses that catered to poor behavior.

      This does not start at the professional level. All the college and university programs should be doing thorough background checks on every potential candidate for any of their programs.

      The behaviors that lead to these problems begins in the high schools where the student is often given a pass for bad behavior. Just look at the recent rape cover up at Steubenville, Ohio as an example. It has happened in Texas four times in recent years.
