RSS52 Year old Mary Kennedy, Estranged Wife of Robert F. Kennedy Found Dead, Apparent Suicide, Hanged Herself
The estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy, 52 year old Mary Kennedy, was found dead in her Westchester County, NY home. Mary Kennedy’s body was found in an out-building on the spacious property. She reportedly hung herself. Mary Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the son of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, have four children together. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. filed for divorce in 2010. However, according to TMZ the divorce was not finalized and the two were actually still married at the time of her death.
Mary Kennedy: Rest in Peace
The estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was found dead inside her Westchester County home on Wednesday.
Mary Kennedy, 52, was discovered on the Bedford property and suicide is believed to be the cause of death, sources told CBS 2. Beford Police responded to the home on South Bedford Road around 1:30 p.m. on reports of a possible “unattended death.”
Statement from Mary Kennedy’s family:
“We deeply regret the death of our beloved sister Mary, whose radiant and creative spirit will be sorely missed by those who loved her. Our heart goes out to her children who she loved without reservation. We have no further comment at this time.”
After her husband filed for divorce in July 2010, Mary Kennedy had a very public struggle with drugs and alcohol which included a couple of arrests for DUI. More recently it has been reported that she also struggled with depression over the divorce. How very sad. Rest in Peace.

Severe Clinical Depression is a disease that needs to be brought into the Limelight more often.
While the Mental Health Medical Community does address it, my belief is there should not be still such a negative stigma attached to it so that more people who suffer from it will not be embarrassed and reach out to get the help they need.
