AMBER ALERT Cancelled, Two Missing NJ Girls, Emma & Sophia Trapp Found Safe … Father Anthony Trapp Dead of Apparent Suicide

The AMBER ALERT for missing Emma & Sophia Trapp has been cancelled, the two girls have been found safe.

Two new Jersey missing girls, 5 year old Emma Trapp and her 20 month old sister Sophia  have been found safe in a motel in Orange County, NY. However, the girls’ father, Anthony Trapp, was found dead of an apparent suicide inside one of the motel’s rooms. Anthony Trapp was a suspect in the stabbing death of his estranged wife in his NJ home in Old Bridge, NJ. The AMBER Alert was announced after Anthony Trapp kidnapped the two girls and took off in his ex-wife’s car.

Investigators say Emma Trapp, 5, and her 20-month-old sister Sophia were found unharmed at a motel near Bear Mountain in Orange County.

The kids are in the custody right now of the New York State police. Old Bridge police officers and officers, investigators from the Middlesex County prosecutors office are up there right now as well as I understand the FBI,” said Captain Robert Weiss of the Old Bridge Police Department.

37 year old Heather Trapp was found dead in her ex-husbands home, murdered by Anthony Trapp.  Heather Trapp had gone to her ex-husband’s residence to pick up the children who were visiting their father. She would be later found dead later that night at his residence later that night.

   I just am amazed at how many of these women take a risk by living with or going by themselves to pick up children from a spouse that they are seeking a divorce from or have already divorced.

   If they don’t care for themselves, then at least protect themselves for the welfare of the children.
