Two Time Presidental Democrat Candidate John Edwards Indicted on 6 Felony Charges of Campaign Finance Law

TWO AMERICAS … SIX FEDERAL INDICTMENTS!

John Edwards indicted on six felony charges that he broke federal campaign finance law. Make no mistake about it, much to what Democrat pundits will say, this case is not about sex, its about braking federal campaign finance law. Ask yourself this question, why would a Democrats President’s AG move on this case against a fellow Dem if there was not a case? This is hardly a political witch hunt … they are all Democrats.

How will the Breck Girl get treated in Jail, will he have a personal prison hair stylists?

58 year old John Edwards was indicted today by a grand jury in Raleigh, NC, for allegedly using more than $900,000 in campaign funds to hide his mistress during the 2008 Democratic presidential race. Edwards was charged with six felony counts of breaking campaign finance law. The charges include conspiracy, illegal campaign contributions and making false statements. If convicted, Edwards faces a maximum penalty of five years in jail and or a fine of up to $250,000 for each charge.

John Edwards attorney reacted to the indictments by saying,  “I did not break the law.”(VIDEO)

“There’s no question that I’ve done wrong and I take full responsibility for having done wrong,” Edwards said a brief news conference today. “And I will regret for the rest of my life the pain and the harm that I’ve caused to others. But I did not break the law and I never, ever thought that I was breaking the law.” He declined to answer questions.

However, prosecutors are claiming that the former NC US Senator and Democrat Presidential candidate engaged in a conspiracy to solicit large cash amounts from two key political political donors to cover up Edwards’ affair with Reille Hunter.

The prosecutors claim Edwards engaged in a conspiracy to protect his “public image as a devoted family man.” It alleges that Edwards was a direct participant, if not the architect, of a plot to solicit huge sums of money from two key political donors to cover up an affair that could have literally blown up his 2008 presidential bid.

The case is built on the notion that political donors would not be doing this out of the goodness of their heart, that this was an outrageous attempt to circumvent campaign finance law to keep Edwards viable as a presidential candidate.

The indictment describes in dtail a laundry list of payments to mistress Reille Hunter for um, work of his campaign.

  • $9,708.23 for a chartered jet to and from Raleigh, N.C. to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Dec. 18, 2007.
  • $8,186.49 for a stay at the Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, Fla., Dec. 24. 2007
  • $29,259.85 for a chartered flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Aspen, Colo., Dec. 24, 2007
  • $14,787.85 for a chartered flight from Aspen to San Diego, Dec. 27, 2007

It has been asked by some, how could a man who was of such wealth have to rely on political donors for $’s to hush up the affair. Are you serious? If he had used his own funds his wife, the dearly departed Elizabeth Edwards, would have asked when balancing the check book … what is this check to Reille Hunter for services rendered? Edwards is going to have to cop a plea in this case. There is no way that this dirt bag wants to take what he did to a jury, let along having an affair while your wife is dying of cancer. It really does not get any worse than that.
