The BUTLER Did It … The Butler Bulldogs Beat Florida 74-71 in OT IN NCAA Basketball … to the Final Four, Again (UPDATE: UCONN In)

THE BUTLER DID IT!!!

In what was truly a fantastic game that would see the winner go to the FINAL FOUR … The #8 seeded Butler Bulldogs have done it again and are headed back to the NCAA Basketball Final Four. Butler defeated #2 seed Florida Gators 74-71 in OT.  Behind the big “Mack” attack from guard Shelvin Mack and the gritty play of forward Matt Howard.

Butler was last years “Hoosiers” darling that every one who was not a Duke fan was pulling for. who would have thought of last years Final Four teams, Butler, Duke, West Virginia & Michigan St, that it would be Butler who was the only one to return?

One team is in and now we await the Arizona – UCONN match up.

UPDATE I: The Silence of the Lambs … UCONN … U BET!

Add another to the Final Four. The UCONN Huskies have punched their ticket to the Fibal Four with a 65-63 victory of the Arizona Wildcats. Kemba Walker poured in 20 and Jeremy Lamb added 19 as the Huskies of the University of Connecticut knocked out Arizona. After UCONN won 5 straight and won the Big East Tournament, the boys from Storrs, CT have been on a mission.

Obama’s Kinetic Military Operation in Libya Against Gaddafi Aiding Rebels Who Admit his Fighters have al-Qaeda Links

Some one forgot to tell Barack Obama that it is important to know who you are backing in a “Kinetic Military Operation”.

So who are the foreign fighters that President Barack Obama has the US military and NATO providing a “no fly zone” for? In a report from the UK telegraph, Libyan rebel leader, Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, stated that  jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.

In an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Mr al-Hasidi admitted that he had recruited “around 25″ men from the Derna area in eastern Libya to fight against coalition troops in Iraq. Some of them, he said, are “today are on the front lines in Adjabiya”.

Mr al-Hasidi insisted his fighters “are patriots and good Muslims, not terrorists,” but added that the “members of al-Qaeda are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader”.

Just curious President Obama, did you know what you were getting into in Libya, did you know who you were supporting against Kadafi and did you rush into war? Oh sorry, a Kinetic Milaitary Action”.  It was perfectly ok for Obama to make the snarky comment about george W. Bush, but when it comes to hios own actions its another hypocrtital action. Obama will eat his own words of “I Promise I will never rush the decision to send you in harms way.”

Geraldine Ferraro, First Female VP Candidate Dead at Age 75 … Rest in Peace

There is sad news to report … Geraldine Ferraro, the first woman Vice Presidental candidate to run on a major party ticket has died at the age of 75. According to reports, Ferraro passed away from complications from multiple myeloma that she has fought for many years. She passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by her family. Our prayers go out to her family, may she rest in peace.

Rest in Peace

Geraldine A. Ferraro, who earned a place in history in 1984 as the first woman to run on a major party national ticket for vice president, has died.  She was 75-years-old.

Ferraro, who was born in Newburgh, New York, passed away today at Massachusetts General Hospital while surrounded by her loved ones, a statement from her family read.

The cause of death was complications from multiple myeloma, a blood cancer that she had battled for twelve years, her family said.

Geraldine Ferraro is most famously known for being the first female to be a VP candidate on a major party ticket. Before there was Sarah Palin, there was Geraldine Ferraro who was Walter Mondale’s VP candidate who faced Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush in the 1984 election. She broke the glass ceiling of the old boys network of having a man on both the top and bottom of the ticket. However, it would not be until 2008, some 24 years later before another woman would be named as a VP choice. Sarah Palin wrote on her Facebook page regarding the passing of Geraldine Ferraro.

My family and I would like to express our sincere condolences to the family of Geraldine Ferraro. When I had the honor of working alongside Geraldine on election night last year, we both discussed the role of women in politics and our excited expectation that someday that final glass ceiling would be shattered by the election of a woman president.

Ferraro Wiki

More from CNN, “Geraldine Anne Ferraro Zaccaro was widely known as a leader, a fighter for justice, and a tireless advocate for those without a voice.

Family statement via The Hill:

“To us, she was a wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, a woman devoted to and deeply loved by her family. Her courage and generosity of spirit throughout her life waging battles big and small, public and personal, will never be forgotten and will be sorely missed.”

Murder of Stephany Flores in Peru: Joran Van der Sloot Lying Again … Laptop Study Shows that Searches on Natalee Holloway Much Earlier in the Day

LIAR … LIAR!!! THIS COMES AS A SURPRISE TO NO ONE …

If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck and acts like a duck, guess what … it just might be a pathological, lying, murderous sociopath.

What a shock, dateline Peru … Joran van der Sloot is lying again when it comes to the murder of a girl. Like we have not seen this act play out all too numerous times in the past. Now Van der Sloot, the Dutch Sporter is lying to save his bacon in Peru in the death of Stephany Flores. Van der Sloot has claims that he murdered Flores in a fit of passion and rage after discovering that she had violated his privacy and has looking up information on his laptop in connection with the death of Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

Stephany Flores did not view any such information on the laptop after accompanying Van derSloot to the Lima hotel room where she was killed on May 30, the technology chief of Peru’s police, Col. Oscar Gonzales, told The Associated Press.

“She didn’t view anything about Holloway. It’s a lie that she tried to ask him about (the case),” Gonzales said.

Information from Joran’s laptop has led investigators in Peru that Van der Sloot has been lying to them. Really, waht was your first thought?  The defense by Joran van der Sloot and his attorney was just a lame excuse to try and mitigate Van der Sloot’s sentence and blame the victim in the process. Where have we heard that before? Van der Sloot has lied so many times in an effort to keep himself from the being convicted that it is about time he gets his just desserts.

RNW has provided even further information as to the time line of Joran Van der Sloot and Stephany Flores in the time leading up to and after her death. As the investigation into the laptop has shown, Stephany Flores could not have been looking on Joran’s laptop at the time when she was murdered. The searches were done earlier in the day. So what will Joran Van der Sloot’s next excuse lie be?

The detectives also found that Flores did not search for information on Natalee Holloway immediately before the murder, as Van der Sloot claims. The laptop was used to search for details of the Holloway case, but much earlier in the day,Dutch website Crimesite reports. Van der Sloot says he killed Flores in a fury when he saw she was reading about his alleged involvement in Holloway’s disappearance.

Katie Couric Out as Anchor of CBS News

OUT …

It appears that CBS News anchor Katie Couric is out. So what will be her final Swan song? So the search is on for a replacement. Maybe CBS can do a reatity TV show and the winner gets the gig. For all you that think that Fox’s Megyn Kelly has a shot, don’t hold your breath.

The new CBS News chairman, Jeff Fager, is looking at candidates both within and outside the network, insiders say.
One strong contender if Couric vacates the anchor chair in early June, as now seems almost certain, is veteran newsman Scott Pelley. The 60 Minutes correspondent has long been a favorite of Fager, who doubles as the show’s executive producer. But with Fager taking a methodical approach to his first major decision, Pelley is not a lock. A few short weeks ago, the expectation in the Couric camp—after discussions with top CBS management—was that she would sign a new deal to stay in the anchor’s job through the 2012 elections as she figured out the next phase of her career. But the thinking on both sides has now changed as Couric has aggressively tested the waters—and found substantial interest in her services…

Hot Air dreams up a vision of a Couric – Sarah Palin interview. That certain would be a ratings grabber, but if I were Palin I would not give CBS the satisfaction, or the ratings.
