Aruba Investigates Aruba … AG Says No Evidence Found that Alleged Relationship Between Chief Jan van der Straten & Van der Sloot Family Played a Negative role in the Investigation into the Disappearance of Natalee Holloway

File this one under and who is going to investigate the investigator? A cover up to the very end …

Aruban AG Rob Pietersz has stated that there was no evidence found that the former Aruba Chief of Police Jan van der Straten and his cronyism relationship with the Van der Sloot family played a negative role in the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in 2005 in Aruba. Just curious, was there any evidence that the alleged relationship between former corps chief Jan van der Straten and the Van der Sloot-family played a “POSITIVE”  role in the investigation?

More from Aruba in Wonderland, where up is down and guilty is innocent

No evidence was found that the alleged relationship between former corps chief Jan van der Straten and the Van der Sloot-family played a negative role in the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Attorney General (PG), Rob Pietersz announced this yesterday afternoon.

Statements from former Minister of Justice Rudy Croes (MEP) at the end of 2008were reason for the Public Prosecutor (OM) to start a factual inquiry into the initial phase of the investigation regarding the disappearance of Holloway. According to Croes, Van der Straten had supposedly consciously hindered the investigation during the crucial initial phase. “However, the statements from Croes could not be proven,” says Solicitor General Taco Stein before the Amigoe“, nor did there appear to be a relationship between Van der Straten and Van der Sloot.”

No evidence, eh? It is amazing how easy it is to find no evidence when one wants to find no evidence. All we need to do is review the investigation of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway to prove the theory. I guess Dutch official Hero Brinkman was wrong as well when he stated that ARUBA WAS CORRUPT AS HELL.

Inquiring minds would like to know whether the AG was able to say this with a straight face or if his nose grew at any time during the statement? AG Rob Pietersz also went on to say that there was no evidence that the moon was made of cheese or that there has never been a Big Foot sighting in Aruba. Spare us! Does any one really believe that there was no cronyism and cover up that took place in the death and disappearance investiagtion of Natalee Holloway? Really, REALLY?

Aruba’s Justice Minister Rudy Croes confirmed on Thursday that Van der Straten delayed the start of investigations in order to protect his friend, Paulus van der Sloot, the father of Joran who is the main suspect in the case. Paulus was working for the Justice Ministry at the time.

Minister Croes made his public statement about the commissioner’s dallying following critical remarks by Van der Straten about Aruba’s police. Shortly after Natalee’s disappearance in 2005, the Dutch police commissioner was overheard saying “I cannot do this to my friend Paul”.

The Justice Minister says there were remarkably frequent phone conversations between Jan van der Straten and Paul van der Sloot in the first days after the American teenager went missing.

More from the AG …

At the onset of the factual investigation, it was announced the results of such would be made public in main lines after the completion of this investigation. In February of this year it was announced that the final report of the National Criminal Investigation Department was with the OM. Attorney General Pietersz, who opened the factual investigation at the beginning of 2009, had not wanted to respond at that time ‘because the report was to be discussed internally first’. With the recent announcement, this case is finished as far as the OM is concerned. “We see no reason to continue such”.

All one needs to do is compare the murder investigation in Peru with Joran Van der Sloot to see the difference and lack of cronyism as compared to what took place in Aruba. For any one to say that there was no evidence, was not looking for any in the first place.  The Island of Aruba and their legal system continues to spit in the eye of justice and the memory of Natalee Holloway.

From the looks of jan van der Straten, in the photo you supplied with this article, he sweats as much as Paulus van der Sloot. I guess a guilty conscience does that to a person. A guilty conscience will also ruin your life, your family’s life, and hit you with a massive coronary. Look out van der Straten, old Paulus knows now that there is a higher power than the Aruban legal system.

Disgraced, Ex- chief Jan van der Straten delayed the investigation by weeks. Then stepped aside after he destroyed the chance of a quick arrest, and evidence collections. Lets not forget the threats made van der Straten towards the Holloway family. The FACTS are so over whelming that not even this white wash could over come the truth.

Aruban AG Rob Pietersz is responsible for “NOT” cleaning up corruption in Aruba. So he has now made himself part of the problem. The lack of Justice in Aruba has destroyed the islands reputation as a safe vacation spot. YES, “ARUBA IS STILL CORRUPT AS HELL.”

when you are robbed you don’t ask a thief to investigate for you, The same with Aruba. Of course they are going to say that. They know the truth and won’t admit anything. They are as guilty as the van der sloots and all the corupt people down there in Aruba

Aruba `investigating` anything at this point is a joke. In order to have a real investigation you must first employ genuine investigators not MALL
      SECURITY GUARDS.

I take nothing coming out of Aruba seriously.

They have the credibility of Joran Van der sloot.

The problem is that the word “evidence” doesn’t mean the same thing in Aruba than it does anywhere else.

In Aruba, “Evidence” is similar to what we would call a baby rattle. It is interesting when presented, but if it escapes from view, then it never existed.

Also, if the rattle-maker states that there are 5 little beads that cause the baby rattle to rattle, but someone else suggests that there were only 4 beads in the rattle, then it can be concluded that the rattle does not rattle at all, due to the lack of evidence as to the number of rattle-making beads.

Why can’t we find Natalee Holloway?
      May 04, 2006

Recently the Dutch and Aruban press have turned very critical of the Aruban police investigation into the disappearance of Holloway, the first public signal that corruption might be the major obstacle to solving the case. Several Dutch criminal law experts have gone on the record calling the investigation methods “strange and unprofessional” and the investigation itself “total madness.”
At the center of controversy is Gerald Dompig, Aruba’s Chief of Police. According to reports, an anonynous man in tears called Dompig with information about where the body of Holloway was buried. A month passed before authorities began the search, yet ealier Dompig spoke openly with the press about new clues. “This is very strange,” said legal psychologist Peter van Koppen. “Normally the area is closed off immediately, to dig and search for clues, but not in Aruba.”

Menno Dolman, a criminal law expert at the University of Amsterdam, was also baffled by Dompig’s slow response. “It is incomprehensible that police, after an important tip about the location of Natalee Holloway’s body, would not go search immediately.”
Regarding Dompig’s leaks about the investigation, University of Leiden’s criminal law expert Hans Nijboer comments: “Total madness. It is against all principles and illogical to bring forth information about the tips before starting the search. [First] competent investigators investigate the case.”

Dompig, who recently resigned his post as Aruba’s Police Chief under mysterious circumstances, is becoming the center of controversy over many odd details related to the case. For example, Joran Van der Sloot and Deepak and Satish Kalpoe were quickly identified as the last people to see Natalee Holloway alive the evening of May 30. However, Dompig waited over a week to gather evidence from the Van der Sloot home, as well as a variety of other sites on the island that might have harbored clues about Holloway’s disappearance. It is widely known that Straten and Joran Van der Sloot’s father are friends.
There are dozens of other details about Holloway’s disappearance that remain a mystery. Why did Stephen Crooes (a DJ and local operator of a party boat) come forward early in the investigation to corroborate the first tale about the three boys having dropped Holloway off at the Holiday Inn, a story the three boys later admitted was a lie? Crooes now says “he was trying to help,” but what was his motivation to stick his nose into such a high profile investigation if he knew the details weren’t the truth? Was he a plant intended to throw the investigation off course, or was he just stupid?

ORANJESTAD – The police corps committed a blunder in the case of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. According to ex-commissioner Stanley Zaandam, who dedicates attention to the case here and also in his upcoming publication.

According to Zaandam, the nominations – of among others Commissioners Bernardina, Dompig, Hassel and Richardson, along with 34 high-rank 1st class inspectors – which are against the law and hierarchy of the KPA [police corps], have serious consequences for the quality and integrity of work in KPA.

According to Zaandam, none of the high-ranked commissioners has the qualifications nor experience to conduct a judicial investigation.

Police at the top of political list

According to Zaandam, Commissioner Dompig is under the instruction of Minister Rudy Croes, of MEP.

He also states that 20 other policemen were ranked high on a political list. Five others (…) among them Commissioner Hassell, according to Zaandam.

He also claims this is how Commissioner vd Straten was appointed to this case. However, according to Zaandam, this should not be work for a commissioner.

      BLUNDER

Zaandam continues talking about the blunder under which the 3 youngsters were questioned, which should have been a simple case, but one that resulted in KPA’s biggest blunder, due to the deceitfulness of JvdS, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, they remained free another 12 days.

      FALSE ARREST

Zaandam keeps on saying in his book, two days after 5/29, the body of Natalee H. may have already been found and Cvp [police commissioner] looked the other way to do a favour for Paul vd Sloot (ex of chief staff of Cabinet PG [prosecutor general] J. Zwinkels). To exculpate the son of Paul, the CvP and fiscal chief prosecutor Karen Jansen made the false arrest of two ex-security guards, Jones and John , called this a ‘tactical maneuver’ , and denied them their freedom for another 10 days.

Imagine that “no evidence”.. No evidence of Natalee dead.. No evidence against the Kalpoes or Sloots.. No evidence against straten.. No body, no case all over again..

Where did the evidence go that Straten talked about , when he said he believed Natalee was dead, he seen the evidence.

And yet.. we heard about solid evidence against the 2 security guards for murder and kidnapping..

Aruba newspaper editor Julia Renfro joined The Factor with the latest information on the case and the five men in custody. “The police told us that they have solid evidence against two of the men. The other three were considered as witnesses against those two men.”

They are saying they did this investigation because they might be exposed by Joran as his noose gets tighter and they do not come to his defense and rescue him. Joran has used extortion before and I don’t believe he will go down alone. I wonder who is paying for his lawyers? Could they be funded by the people involved in the cover up Netherlands and Aruba? Greta was told by Joran that his Father Paulus paid off some people, but wouldn’t give their names in their interview. So the corruption is already out there. I was watching the soccer game at a restaurant and got up an shouted yea Spain. I was very happy they won.

Can Aruba be held liable in any sort of law suit for the death of Stefani Flores Ramirez? Is that what this is about? Are they trying to cover their tracks? Is this about tourism stats? Was this an attempt to save the summer for the Arubans as far as tourism goes? What purpose does this joke of an “investigation” serve exactly? Why was it done? Aruba really doesn’t seem that concerned about the so-called good (hah)name of the island.

    18. kiltie on July 13th, 2010 3:46 pm

I seem to recall Von Stratten retired to Curacao after having a major organ transplant of some kind. I figured he’d be dead by now, but I betcha’ when he does “go on to his rewards” then Aruba will confess all and blame it on Paulus Van der Sloot and Von Stratten. Maybe then the Kalpoes will get punished for their part in Natalee’s death.

This is about the most insane thing I have ever seen these idiots in Aruba try to do. It is like having the fox guard the hen house.

I believe that this is an attempt to CYA in the event that Joran’s computer contains information about what really took place.

When the going really gets tough for Joran in Peru, he may try to get some concessions by providing some truth regarding Natalee. Should he be believed? Not without verification.

Aruba’s turist economy is in shambles and may not ever recover, but all the crooks that took part in this charade of an investigation don’t care. They just want it to all go away so that the people involved in the actual crime and those that aided in the cover-up can continue their lives without fear of being caught.

Will van der Sloot Ever See The Inside Of An Alabama Courtroom?

      Last Update: 7/13 7:05 pm

Birmingham, AL (WIAT)- As Joran van der Sloot sits in a Peruvian prison awaiting trial for murder, some wonder if he’ll ever set foot in an American federal courtroom to face extortion charges.

In addition to facing murder charges in the gruesome death of Stephany Flores in Peru, the prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway has also been charged with attempting to extort money from Natalee’s family.

Federal investigators say they caught van der Sloot in a sting operation, saying he tried to secure hundreds of thousands of dollars in exchange for information that would lead authorities to the location of Natalee Holloway’s body.

But with a murder trial that could send him to prison for up to 30 years, there’s concern van der Sloot may not stand trial for extortion in Alabama. Extraditing van der Sloot is a complicated process.

Former US Attorney Doug Jones, who has seen a number of extradition cases, says there’s a good chance van der Sloot will be extradited. But he says there are a lot of factors to take into account.

Van der Sloot Update: Where is Stephany Flores’ Missing $11,000?
      Posted by Naimah Jabali-Nash

NEW YORK (CBS) Police sources in Peru have disclosed to CBS News that Stephany Flores, Joran van der Sloot’s alleged Peruvian murder victim, had won approximately $10,000 at casinos in the week leading up to her death and also had been given $1,000 from her father to purchase a laptop that she never got a chance to buy.

But police sources say that this money has never been found.

Flores reportedly kept her money in the glove compartment of her car. Police documents dated June 3 obtained by CBS News show the results of the search of Stephany Flores’ car: no money was found in it.

Did Joran van der Sloot take that money?

The sources say that this was the true motive for the brutal murder of Flores: van der Sloot was after her money. Police say this means that van der Sloot’s alleged murder of Flores was premeditated.

But in van der Sloot’s confession – which he subsequently recanted in a Dutch newspaper – police say he told them that he became enraged after Flores found information on his laptop about his links to the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway.

According to Peruvian newspaper La Republica, van der Sloot told police, “I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life. She had no right. I went to her and I hit her. She was scared. We argued and she tried to escape. I grabbed her by the neck and I hit her.”

Crimesider spoke with ex-FBI agent Paul Lindsay, who worked for many years investigating serial killers. Lindsay believes that if reports of van der Sloot’s confession are accurate, van der Sloot created the story of the e-mail and the confrontation as a way to justify his actions.

Police say he smashed in the face of Flores, the student he met playing poker before leading her back to his hotel room. According to police, van der Sloot then strangled her, threw her to the floor and emptied her wallet.

Stephany Flores’ death occurred exactly five years after Alabama teen Natalee Holloway disappeared in Aruba, a case which van der Sloot is the main suspect. The Dutchman faces charges of first-degree murder and robbery for the May 30 death of Stephany Flores.

Explicit crime scene photos were previously obtained exclusively by 48 Hours | Mystery from sources close to the investigation and published exclusively by Crimesider. They show a severely beaten Flores, her body badly bruised, her clothes stained with blood.

JUG TWITTY: Nancy, what happened — well, I think it was probably about 30 days after, or so, maybe the 1st of July or something. I had a meeting with Van Der Straaten, who was the police chief in charge at that time. And I went in and sat down with him and told him and Officer Sanboe (ph), who was going to take over for Van Der Straaten. He was there, too.

You know, I asked a question about, I understand that there was a statement made by Joran, where he talks about what he had done to Natalee and he described in very graphic detail, like, the stitching and embroidery and everything on Natalee`s underwear. And he goes, Oh, no, no, no. Absolutely not. Absolutely not. Well, little did he know I had just read the statements where Joran describes that to the “T,” you know, two days before. But of course, I didn`t tell him that. But that`s just when I started to think something`s wrong here.

So I guess that’s it regarding Natalee’s disappearance.

The main and only suspect is in jail in Peru and the investigation into the first 10 days of the investigation turned out nothing.

Paul is dead, Jan is home free, Joran is in jail and the Kalpoe boys aren’t even suspects anymore.

I fear this is the end of the line regarding Natalee’s case.

Good solid evidence against the 2 security guards of… first-degree murder, second-degree MURDER and capital kidnapping, or KIDNAPPING resulting in DEATH ?

Aruba Prime Minister Nelson Oduber vowed, “On this island, nobody stands above the law.” (What a load of bs)

Police were investigating any possible tie between the three arrested Thursday and the two arrested Sunday.

According to police statements, at least one of the three arrested Thursday told authorities that as Holloway was getting out of their car at her hotel, she stumbled and one of them helped her up. Walking to the hotel, she stumbled a second time, and a “dark-colored” man wearing a black T-shirt and carrying a radio helped her, the statement said.

A hotel employee who has reviewed surveillance tapes from the morning of Holloway’s disappearance said they don’t show any sign of the teenager.

Jones’ attorney, Chris Lejuez, said his client is accused of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and capital kidnapping, or kidnapping resulting in death.(Where’s that evidence?!)

Jones’ and John’s relatives maintain their innocence. John’s mother, Ann, said, “My son knows nothing, nothing, concerning this girl.”

Lejuez said he knew of no connection between Jones and John and the three others arrested. Of the latter, he said, “The public has been screaming for their arrest for quite some time now.”

Jones and John were security guards working at the Hotel Allegro, which is near the Holiday Inn where Holloway was staying. Lejuez said neither was working the night she disappeared. (Both had alibis.. unlike Deepak, Satish and Joran who were seen on tape leaving Carlos n Charlies with Natalee)

The two went before the judge Wednesday, but prosecutors did not provide much of the evidence against them, Lejuez said. (That’s because they had none)

The hotel at which the two suspects worked was just a couple of blocks away from the seaside Holiday Inn at which Holloway had been staying. (More of the solid evidence of 1st and 2nd degree murder?)

The suspects were arrested Sunday morning at their homes in the southeastern community of San Nicolas, but Aruba officials have declined to provide specific charges before their hearing.

Authorities searched the men’s homes and impounded three vehicles, carrying away bags of items. Authorities said they had not found any of Holloway’s belongings at the suspects’ homes, but an eight-member team of FBI agents supporting the investigation was to help perform forensic testing.(Searched their homes, took their cars, took away bags of items and arrested them, and didn’t search the last 3 with Natalee Holloway for over 10 days, didn’t search the Van Der Sloot home and property for 2 years)

The officer told AP Tuesday that the men were known to police for hanging around hotels on the resort island and sometimes approaching female guests, although no complaints had been filed against them. (Good reason to arrest someone for first, second degree murder and kidnapping?!)(We are suppose to believe the 2 security guards were known by police to hang around hotels and approach females, but they weren’t aware of Joran , we did this 20 times before.. Remember Beth saying she asked someone at the hotel about about who was with Natalee..and the woman/man said that is Joran, he tends to prey on young female tourists.

Why did Van der Straten go to see Paulus and tell him to bring in Joran for questioning.. Couldn’t he just call him? Paulus sat in on the questioning and Joran was allowed to call Deepak to ask him what Natalee was wearing..and Deepak told him.. yet Deepak can’t remember what Paulus said to the three of them all the time in private talks.

This would win comedy of the century, if it weren’t so damn sad.

    41. katablog.com on July 14th, 2010 5:19 pm

#34 yep. I would bet that it was Jan van der Straten who helped get Joran’ confession (remember the one made about 10 days after Natalee disappeared) suppressed. Why else would he have suggested the Joran could get off with a stay in a mental institution?

Jan van der Straten may be retired, but I wonder if he’ll ever get those stains from Natalee’s blood off his hands.

    42. Lisa in Maryland on July 14th, 2010 6:39 pm

Michelle, I sure hope not but I have a feeling you may be right unless Van der Stratten decides to come clean on his death bed!

I don’t think Joran knows where or how Paulus and Van der Straten cleaned up after him but, as Jug said, “Van der Stratten knows what happened to Natalee” and Jug would know.

Susan and Maggie – didn’t you know when you start posting such good and delicious posts the spam monster eats them up! These have been great posts by the way!

    43. cvc on July 14th, 2010 6:51 pm

Hi Michelle, I’m afraid that, as far as Aruba is concerned, Natalee never had a case. Aruba will never do anything to solve this case. They have way too much to hide. The police are corrupt, the judges are corrupt, there are way too many people involved in this cover-up for this case to ever be solved by Aruba. I hope and pray that somehow someone is able to come forward with information for the sake of the family but it will not be Aruba.

RUDY CROES – FEET PLANTED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FENCE

      Beth Twitty

Rudy Croes threatens to silence Beth in regards to her claims of a corrupt investigation. He claims that everything possible was done in the Natalee Holloway case. The negative outcome of Rudy Croes rant was a given.
      _________

      Amigoe, Friday 30 September 2005

According to Justice-minister Rudy Croes (MEP), there is not much that can be done against Twitty’s attitude. He says that declaring her as persona non grata is no option. The American media would blow that up and it can fire back at us.

She is back in all sorts of programs where she calls upon Americans to avoid Aruba as vacation destination. “I can’t understand her attitude. We did everything possible to find her daughter”, said Croes. He hopes of course that one day the teenager will show up, but he said that badmouthing would definitely not contribute to that.

Many Aruban people are very angry with Twitty and are afraid that her constant appeals against Aruba would have a negative effect on the tourism. Even though this does not reflect in the figures, the government does keep a finger on the pulse. Croes does not consider taking measures against Twitty yet, but does not rule out the possibility TO SHUT HER UP IN THE FUTURE. The Dutch government was asked to diplomatically support Aruba in this matter.

Aruba wants Dutch police to take over Natalee case

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) — Aruban authorities want Dutch police to take over the investigation of the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway, who vanished on the Caribbean island more than one year ago, a local newspaper reported Friday. Aruba’s Justice Minister Rudy Croes sent a letter last week to Netherlands’ Internal Affairs Minister Johan Remkes and to another Dutch official asking the Dutch police to handle the case, saying little progress had been made, the Solo di Pueblo newspaper reported.

If Dutch police take over the investigation, they will have access to all case files and their own office, according to the newspaper, which didn’t cite its source. Remkes will visit the Dutch Caribbean islands, including Aruba, next week, authorities said in the Netherlands.

Telephone calls placed to Croes’ office for comment Friday went unanswered.

Holloway vanished on May 30, 2005, the last night of a high school graduation trip to Aruba. Then 18, the native of Mountain Brook was last seen leaving a bar with three young men.

Authorities have arrested eight people in connection with her disappearance and then released them for lack of evidence.

      An Aruban Investigation?

A corrupt Aruban investigation that is far reaching in regards to those who participated is not going to allow the house of cards to fall by implicating Jan van Straten and … Jan van Straten is not about to be the sacrificial lamb who prevented justice from prevailing for Natalee Holloway. The negative outcome of the Jan van Straten investigation was a given.

      Police head hindered Holloway investigation
      Published: Thursday 04 December 2008 10:28 UTC
Last updated: Thursday 04 December 2008 10:35 UTC

The Aruban Minister of Justice, Rudy Croes, has told the ANP news agency that the investigation into the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway was severely hindered in its initial stages by the island’s Dutch police commissioner. Mr Croes said former commissioner Jan van de Straten did this to help his friend Paul van der Sloot, the father of the chief suspect in the US high school graduate’s disappearance.

Mr Croes also said that Mr Van de Straten appeared to have made a conscious decision not to arrest Joran van der Sloot and two other suspects until ten days after Ms Holloway disappeared, even though the first few days are crucial in such an investigation. He went on to say that Mr Van de Straten and Mr Van der Sloot conducted lengthy telephone conversations after the disappearance and that the commissioner deployed a team of second-rank officers to investigate it.

Mr Croes added that a Dutch minister had asked the Aruban authorities to conceal as much as possible the fact that Joran van der Sloot was Dutch.

Jan Van der Straten has had two new Government
appointments in Aruba since the first of this year.
He’s now the minister of the arts and something
      like the Drug Czar.
He isn’t retired, but is Mike Eman’s new fair haired boy.
He is as guilty as Paulus and Joran in Natalee’s
death and I hope the guilt gets to him like it did
      to Paulus.

Great mind imagery in your sentence, Kata!

…so true – and the answer is NO.

It doesn’t matter how many times he tries
to scrub it off. It will always come back.
      Just like in the movies.

Jan Van der Straaten is an over-bloated worm eaten corpse slowly but surely lumbering along on his very own short road to hell that he created for himself, and he is soaked in Natalee’s blood.

      Drip! Drip! Drip!

He tries to wipe it off from his decaying face,
but his rotted arm falls out of its socket and to
the ground. THUD! He stops and stares at it for a minute in total bewilderment. Yet decides, he will keep walking as long as his legs don’t fall off. (and those are coming soon too – and he knows it)

As an outsider, I find it interesting how Americans, in this case, act as though corruption has never taken place in the United States. Yes this douchbag got away with murder, but to blame it on the Country of Aruba when clearly the blame falls on a few people is like blaming the entire United States for George W’s first election win (and nobody believes that was legit) Americans are some of the most maligned travelers in the world yet are some of the most conscientious. The people of Aruba deserve more. And, speaking of corruption, wasn’t Natalee Holloway from Alabama, I guess no one ever got away with murder there. P.S. Don’t worry about extradition, if anyone thinks vanDer Sloot is going to survive 30 years in a Peruvian prison, think again, when the publicity dies down, he’ll dispear faster than Jimmy Hoffa ,sorry, there’s that corruption thing again.

    51. Susan on July 21st, 2010 4:33 pm

canadian – I bet no one was ever MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD in Canada, EITHER, right??? Wrong! For your information, millions worldwide hold America and the American government/people responsible for everything under the sun, especially the bad stuff. They can all kiss my sweet …. :-)

The people of Aruba should have stood up long ago against those corrupt officials (Aruban/Dutch) who DENIED JUSTICE FOR NATALEE.

Please remain an outsider, stay in Canada, and don’t ever step foot in Alabama ;-)

      Susan – Encore, Encore “Applause”!!!

Canadian Outsider – We Americans are not acting as though corruption has never taken place here in the US, at least not this group on SM. We are simply stating our frustration with the Aruban government and the Aruban people who support that govenment and pointing out the corruption surrounding the demise of our American Daughter Natalee.

By the way – How would you know the nationality of the majority of posters here? SM has posters from all over the world.

You say, “The people of Aruba deserve more” – So let’s make sure I am perfectly clear here. Am I to understand that you support Aruba, the people and the government? Are you such an idiot that you did not understand the corruption taking place surrounding this case by the actions of the Aruban officials? Or are you just oblivious to reality and like to shoot your mouth off before thinking about what you are saying???

Game On! You Ignorant Wack Job!

Jan Van der Straten gets a pension from each appointment,so he’s simply accessing the aruban treasury with as many appointments as possible before retiring.he’ll be hooked in until death.he’ll actualy be stealing more when he retires than he is now.

I still believe that the closest we will get to the truth came when Joran was secretively taped by Devries. The fact that Joran was SO smug after he was arrested in Aruba clearly shows that people in HIGH places helped him. A person with half a brain that was nearly arrested for murder would lay low and keep their mouth shut thanking their lucky stars that they didn’t get caught. But Joran was babbling to everyone that was a clear indicator that he had help from high places. And I’m sure due to the fact that the crime went unpunished he felt invisible so in a sense the officials of Aruba enabled this idiot and in my eyes they are responsible for Flores death.

    58. canadian on August 5th, 2010 6:35 pm

Lisa in Maryland: Let me go very slowly, if you think that the average person in Aruba is to blame for this coverup, then you , as an American citizen, are to blame for Rod Blagojevich trying to sell Obama a senate seat, or Michael Austin being wrongly convicted of murder (in Maryland, look it up). Do you think the average guy, working in a hotel, or store, or refinery has anything to do with any of this, grow up! And once again, how long do you think he’ll survive in a Peruvian prison. P.S. You should see someone about your anger issues, it’s really unatractive.

    59. krieton on August 6th, 2010 9:54 pm

seems like canadian is using the same tactic organized crime is using in aruba, putting out the same tired old argument that,it’s O.K to do crime as long as you can back it up with completely unrelated topics and meld them into ,well look over there, focus on that ,don’t look to hard over here.why look here when their doing that over there…….I think canadian is either a pervert or a criminal.

    60. canadian on August 7th, 2010 1:55 pm

My point is that there is corruption and miscarriage of justice everywhere, but you don’t blame the people who have nothing to do with the situation. Average American citizens are not to blame for corruption, neither are average Arubans. The whole world wants to see van der Sloot rot in prison, and thats what’s going to happen. Don’t blame ordinary people for political corruption. P.S. what is with you people and the name calling, grow up!

    61. kreiton on August 8th, 2010 12:46 am

Sure canadian, there is corruption every where.I’ll give you that.but ,how does that absovle the aruban HA-HA establisment of all responsibility??oh ,by the way you may be in canada currently,my guess.your from aruba,or like I said, your part of organized crime and that tired old slogan of it’s happening everywhere so lets forget about natalee just isn’t going to wash, anymore.

    62. Frederic Nitz on August 8th, 2010 5:57 pm

      Canadian,
Let me go very slowly so you can understand.

Aruba is corrupt as hell and covered up Natalee’s disappearance. A grown woman does not disappear without a lot of complicity.

Joran is a murderer and will suffer in hell but that does nothing for Natalee or her family.

If there were any integrity in Aruba, everyone involved would come clean and Natalee’s disappearance would be solved, but nobody in Aruba will ever do that. They are more worried about protecting themselves and I think it is ingrained as a national culture.

And like with Joran, lies are easier than the truth.

    63. Lisa in Maryland on August 8th, 2010 6:57 pm

Oh Canadian there you go again shooting your ignorant mouth off like you know it all!!! Your post on #58 is not only illogical it has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion here.

You can’t even stay on topic while boring us with your ingloriously ignorant insults.

Let me go S-L-O-W-L-Y so you can keep up. The Aruban people did Nothing “NOTHING” to stop the corruption taking place. Instead they held signs in the street saying Beth Go Home. Why didn’t those signs say STOP THE CURRUPTION??? Because they made a clear choice to look the other way.

Yes, they – The Average Aruban turned their little heads and allowed it to happen. While Americans cried for Justice.

So YES, they are to blame. Not for not taking a stand but for taking the stand they took. Why because much like you they are gutless little dweebs who refuse to see the TRUTH or see the TRUTH and refuse to take a stand in it’s name! Maybe if you had more of a backbone you would understand. Can you comprehend JUSTICE???

      Justice for Natalee!
