Natalee Holloway Missing in Aruba: Justice Minister Rudy Croes Says Van der Straten Delayed the Start of Investigations to Protect Van der Sloot (Cronyism & Cover Up)

Breaking News … there was cronyism and a cover up in Aruba in the investigation of missing Natalee Holloway.

Really? There was a cover up and obstruction in the case of missing Natalee Holloway in Aruba? Say it isn’t so. How could anyone not have come to that conclusion?

Nearly three and a half years later after Alabama teen Natalee Holloway went missing on Aruba, Aruban Justice Minister Rudy Croes has finally come out and stated what all of us knew all along. Aruba’s Justice Minister Rudy Croes stated that police commissioner Jan van der Straten obstructed the investigation of missing Natalee Holloway in order to protect his friend Paulus Van der Sloot, the father of suspect Joran Van der Sloot. How could any rational thinking person not have determined that there was an orchestrated cover up in this case when the last three people, Joran Van der Sloot, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, were allowed to roam free and two black security guards were immediately arrested to take the fall?

Jan Van der Straten

Remember how we said there is a little truth in every lie that comes from a sociopath? We go back to the VIDEO in a recent interview where Joran Van der Sloot stated there were police bribes. Was it the police that Joran named in the video? Probably not. Were there actual police bribes and cover ups that obstructed the investigation? According to Rudy Croes there certainly was.

Even farther back, remember when Joran Van der Sloot was once again on video with Dutch crime investigatior Peter R. de Vries when Joran Van der Sloot out of the clear blue stated that his parents had no involvement in the disposal of Natalee Holloway’s body. Interestingly enough, no one ever asked him the question.

Paulus & Joran Van der Sloot

Dutch police commissioner Jan van der Straten actively frustrated investigations on the island of Aruba into the disappearance of US teenager Natalee Holloway.

Aruba’s Justice Minister Rudy Croes confirmed on Thursday that Van der Straten delayed the start of investigations in order to protect his friend, Paulus van der Sloot, the father of Joran who is the main suspect in the case. Paulus was working for the Justice Ministry at the time.

Minister Croes made his public statement about the commissioner’s dallying following critical remarks by Van der Straten about Aruba’s police. Shortly after Natalee’s disappearance in 2005, the Dutch police commissioner was overheard saying “I cannot do this to my friend Paul”.

The Justice Minister says there were remarkably frequent phone conversations between Jan van der Straten and Paul van der Sloot in the first days after the American teenager went missing.

Justice Minister Rudy Croes also went on to say that Van der Straten of put a “second rate police team” on the Holloway case. Gee Rudy, what to you so long to come around? For years we have been told that the police were competent and actively doing their job as the world looked on and referred to the ALE as the “Key Stone Cops”.

“They stand by while Aruba’s name is being dragged through the mud. We were asked in 2005 to hide the fact that Joran is a Dutchman. A Dutch minister – I won’t say who – personally asked us to present Joran as an Aruban.”

“Police helped Paul van der Sloot in Holloway case ‘

From the Dutch media, Pa Van der Sloot hielp Joran (translation below)

DADDY VAN DER SLOOT HELPED JORAN

The Dutchman Jan van der Straten who in 2005 as Police commissioner in Aruba, was put on the Natalee Holloway case, has seriously hindered the research in the early stages. This to help his friend Paul van der Sloot to protect his son Joran who was suspected of involvement in the disappearance of the U.S. girl.
This the Aruban Justice Minister Rudy Croes confirmed Thursday. The allegation already circulated on the island. The minister has come forward with this because Van der Straten this week in the media voiced his criticism at the Aruban police force.

Aware

According to Croes, it seems that the old Police-commissioner deliberately arrested Joran and two other defendants only after ten days, “while the first days in a disappearance case are crucial”. In a conversation he in that period heard the Minister Van der Straten say: ‘I can’t do that to my friend Paul.”Croes finds it suspicious that when there was a lot of telephone traffic between Paul van der Sloot and chief-investigator Van der Straten. Besides that Van der Straten supposedly, deployed an ‘inferior’ police-team, shortly after Natalee’s disappearance. ‘That was the ‘flexi-team’, a team that is deployed”during carnival, Croes explained. He wants a new investigation into the role of Van der Straten and Van der Sloot: “As two Dutch friends, Paul and Jan helped each other.”

Criticism

Also the Dutch government gets some criticism from the Aruban Minister. ‘Until this day we internationally get no moral support of the Netherlands, while the Aruban name is sullied. In 2005, we were asked if possible to suppress that Joran is a Dutchman. He had to look like an Aruban as much as possible. A Dutch minister – I am not saying who -personally asked for that.” (Hat Tip: EU Robert)

#1 – True. The Arubans seems to forget one very important issue….Natalee is still missing!!

I hope Croes comments are just the beginning of their “house of cards” falling and that all the sleazy players in this cover up all start to turn on each other. There’s no loyalty among theives and I sure hope that hold true here. Beth and Dave deserve the truth and there needs to be justice for Natalee!

it would be hans mos’s duty to have this criminal brought in for questioning. just to see the sloots squirm if nothing else. i think we will see more and more truths come out but nothing will ever be done by these idiots.

NO BIG SURPRISE HERE! We’ve known all along that ALE was (and still is) covering for the van der Slut’s, destroying evidence, obstructing justice, botched the investigation into Natalee’s disappearance, etc., etc., etc.

I heard Geraldo report the statement by Van de Stratten to Bill O’Reilly within several weeks of Natalee’s disappearance. Those guys Greta had on last week must have been his source that he was talking about on that show.

This is what THE WHOLE WORLD already knew.

Hey people like caesu and yoyodickhead….how bout them apples? You were the ones here up front talking crap about Beth even the victim, defending Joran like his grease-neck lawyer Joe “Mafia” Taco!

Ok Rudy you know the what, where and why. So spill it. Quit your whining and man up.

    12. kaye on December 5th, 2008 9:56 am

i read this article on Amigoe. i wonder why now? why has he waited 3 1/2 years. i wonder what has prompted him to spill it now? it will be intersting to see how it unfolds….if it does at all.
remember within 48 hours of natalee missing van der straaten came forward and said “One of three young men who took Alabama student Natalee Holloway to the beach in Aruba tells police the 18-year-old American had been harmed. An Aruban police official said the man was leading police to the scene.”VAN DER STRAATEN
“Natalee’s body has been found.” FOX News. VAN DER STRAATEN

then they recanted and said it was a mistake, there was no body. mistake my butt, that was enough time for van straaten and papa sloot to get their stories straight.

i hope this busts it wide open. i hope people start pointing the finger and spilling their guts. let’s hope this is the beginning of the end of that bunch of corrupt, arrogant jerks.

Aruba: The Obvious is obvious again.
It’s news again that the obvious is obvious?

The Minister of Justice, Rudy Croes, the guy who’s office released a statement saying Natalee was dead, one of the suspects had confessed and was leading Police to the “body” is admitting that Jan van der straaten conspired with Paulus van der sloot to cover up a crime.

      Duh

But while it’s taken 3 1/2 years to admit the obvious, what that crime was, is the next horror to come from this nightmare.

Even if they are all lies, what kind of people dream up words like rape, heavy battery, kidnapping, premediated murder, slave trafficking, and just toss it into their “stories.”

9 people were arrested with this kind of language and both Janssen, the prosecutor and van der straaten the Chief of Police have admitted Natalee is dead. But they won’t tell us how they know?

But you arrest people with those kind of charges and still call her “disappeared.” I guess that’s true but why not arrest someone for jaywalking in this case? What’s the difference.

Or is it that it’s all true? She was targeted and slaughtered and thrown away, like a do-over when all the poison of the Dutch had a zit pop in Aruba.

It’s true that a Minister in Holland didn’t want the fact that Joran was Dutch to be obvious. And They call Americans arrogant.

The shame is holding these savages hostage, and you know it takes alot. What happened to Natalee hasn’t hurt Aruba, it is Aruba. Maybe Rudy Croes knows it.

Basically van der straaten, and the prosecutor Karin Janssen, decided that placing the interests of a friend ahead of the kidnapping, raping and murder of anyone, was the right thing to do.

Blacks are for framing and women are disposable. This is Dutch ruled Aruba.

How does someone get that way? And the cynism of using 2 black security guards. This is an island, not Amsterdam. Natalee was not on the beach. She wasn’t in the dunes, people were looking there and they were looking on the beach.

She was where they didn’t look, couldn’t look, covered up.

She was at the Van der sloot house, and the Chief of Police knew it. Karin Janssen gave him 10 days.

He and Janssen called it murder and arrested 2 security guards, knowing Natalee was dead at the van der sloots.

10 days, the break for Paulus and he cleaned and cleaned and cleaned and paid for help cleaning and paid to get rid of Natalee.

If there was enough committment to this story, then we are not even half way through.

These cowards and thin skinned Dutch in Aruba have nothing else but this crime and they don’t realize it. It’s their King Kong, without it the islanders, they have nothing. Just poseurs that Hans Mos comes in all clean and professional looking, lots of serious promises, then nothing. Just another arrogant coward. Not a call to Beth Holloway, ever?

If jan van der straaten was covering up, what do you call what Hans Mos is doing? Him and Janssen. He wears shoes and socks on the beach and she in heels. Yeah, they are real “hands on.”

Natalee has been chased and pushed from the bar to the van der sloot house to the dunes to the pond to the beach to the ocean and to a cage on the ocean floor to Venezuela.

And she was dead the whole time. For an accident? I don’t think so.

This was a bad crime and I really believe the truth will be numbing. And is gives me some solace to know, just know, that van der straaten, van de sloot and janssen see Natalee’s face every day.

      I know it.

    14. Mike on December 5th, 2008 10:18 am

Let’s not forget the Zandamm comment that it was possible the body was found. And Straaten looked the other way

    15. Anneke on December 5th, 2008 10:20 am

Looks like Croes is spitefull towards van Straaten as he commented negatively on Croes’s ministry. It also looks like Croes is covering his -ss because he knows the outcome of the investigation and Joran is to be finally acquited due to lack of evidence. Joran did have a field day badgering the press and the justice department. The Dutch press code does not allow that suspects get named in full. Neither is the Justice department allowed to name names of suspects in public. The really sad thing is that Beth’s interests got skewered in the process where the press was disgusting in their loudness in order to make a buck.

    16. Richard on December 5th, 2008 10:24 am

And don’t forget, it was van der Straaten whose remark “I know that Natalee is dead because I’ve seen the evidence and you haven’t,” did so much to close off people’s minds to any alternative explanation.

(I’ve been told that a better translation is: “I know she’s dead because I’m in charge of the investigation and you’re not.” As a non-Dutch speaker, I can’t say which is better.)

Isn’t it odd that we’ve never seen any of this ‘evidence,’ to my knowledge. What we do know is that the FBI agents who first went to Aruba, and who didn’t have the benefit of more than three years of hindsight that we now do have, probably assumed this guy was honest and doing his job.

So when they told Beth that she should be prepared for the likelihood that Natalee was dead, they were operating on the van der Straaten scenario. With no other ideas getting consideration, I imagine.

Incidentally, remember when Jossy Mansur said on Greta vS’s show that “someone” in the police gave orders for Aruban radar-watchers to turn their sets off? Who could that have been, and what was the motive? Hmmmmmmm…..

    17. txchic on December 5th, 2008 10:25 am

didn’t Jan Van der Straten move back to holland shortly after this case occurred? could that “bribe money” have actually been paulus funding this move to keep his friend quiet?

i’m so sick of the arubans & their lack of progress regarding this case.

the venezuelan government is so eager to please the american people one would think that they would attempt to help to discount the joran’s latest tale or solve the case.

So many are saying that there is “truth” in the lies. Since all of this has come out, I personally think that after ’20 times that they had done the same thing’ that it was time to escalate to probably selling her to someone. Think about it this way…. kids, and that is what they were at the time, at least Joran. When you try, say drugs for example. You start small with a joint, if it is good for you, you escalate to stronger drugs that make you feel even better. Now take picking up girls for sex or whatever. They have done it, gotten away with 20 times before, now it is boring to them. So, if Joran was offered money for a girl ( and perhaps his father was already doing this all along and not getting caught. He could do it discretely, but Joran knows about it.) They are bored with the same ol thing, so they decide to sell a girl. But something goes wrong. Perhaps, Natalee fights back, hence the comment – if they see the girl, they will find the shit. Perhaps she is fading in and out of it, but they sell the girl any way. Or perhaps the person/s who made the deal to buy the girl decides he doesn’t want her because she is hurt, but he decides to take her on his boat back to where he came from and dumps her. Perhaps, if she gets hurt, then Joran calls daddy because he is afraid and this is where Paulus gets involved to protect his son, takes her back to his house.
Anyways, I am just rambling, but I think the truth is getting much closer to coming out. I pray for Natalee’s family that they will soon have closure. As far as the guilty ones, I hope the rot in H*ll. They deserve nothing less. Actually, I hope that some day karma comes around and they have to go through the same thing that Natalee’s parents have had to go through. Wouldn’t it be funny if Joran just disappeared on day?

I’m not going to hold my breath. I think this is just another smoke out. They are trying to draw the attention away from Joran’s trafficking allegations. Later we will read that Croes didn’t really say that about Van Der Straaten. It was a misprint.

They are all in it together. Every single one of them are guilty. They all know if one goes down, they all go down. They will never let happen. They don’t care what happens to Aruba. They have already proven that.

Natalee’s justice will be when each of them meet their maker.

    29. arubatraveladvisory on December 5th, 2008 2:19 pm

Everyone knows, this case was a brazen cover-up right to the top in Aruba.

From the amended search warrant, to disappearing evidence (bloody mattress, for one), to the phoney arrest – with TV cameras there to perp walk the poor lads – of the two black guys, to law enforcement and judicial members constantly changing their stories as they tried to figure out how to cover for each other.

Van Der Stratton is being fingered currently…..but he can pull down all of Aruba as most are complicit in this crime. They are not going to bring questioning to Van Der Stratton, as the whole house of cards will collapse.

Prediction – watch for more covering up.

    30. deetch on December 5th, 2008 2:24 pm

They may all be in this together but they don’t trust each other that’s for sure.

The house of cards is teetering more than ever. There just isn’t enough money anymore to keep quiet.

The truth now has value, and that’s good for Natalee. How much I would love to celebrate Christmas after we bring her home.

That this would be a joyous event shows how low we have gotten.

Why did Rudy Croes wait this long to tell this? If it didn’t look right, then why didn’t he start asking questions?

I think that they are starting to cover there own rear’s. They can’t hold it together as a group, so they will start to rat each other out. This is the beginning of the end. You may see more come to the front soon to get out of the spot light of who did the covering up.

Now is the time to have special Dutch investigators take control and see who comes forward. This runs deep.

Richard, you are right..this investigation was suppose to be turned over to Holland and they went out and searched the VDS property , years after the crime..and remember the letter that Beth and Dave wrote to Holland early on? The boycott followed. Now we are reading these 2 guys were told the Aruban tourism was investigating this..What a joke! Why was Paulus privy to the police files? Remember Joran saying he had the police files, he studied them all the time, practically had them memorized. Arlene Shippers(cousin of Guido) tourism spokesman, coming to the USA to inform the govt..about the evidence and the case.. Why would she have access to police files? Steve Cohen, remember it being said, he was filled in and kept up to date on the case, he was out making statements about the case and murder and rape..Paulus went to work in his son’s lawyer’s office. how convenient..

Deetch, I am kind of going to agree with you..If this was an accidental death and no wrong doing.. I can’t see anyone going through all of this. When Natalee walked out of Carlos n Charlies, she wasn’t falling down drunk to the point of overdose. However it is very likely, she was drugged in that last drink going out of C&C.. Always thought it was real strange..Deepak got lost in a place he went every weekend away from these 2(yeah right) and he had no minutes on his phone(yeah right) One Kalpoe here..Here comes Joran with Natalee.another in the car waiting with it running.. Looks like a plan. I remember Deepak saying they would go out Joran or Freddie would get the girls…They probably all got enough info on each other, to keep quiet. Why in the world wouldn’t they identify that person talking to Natalee or have they already. Also remember Straten and Paulus meeting in person to tell Paulus to bring Joran in and then Joran is allowed to call the Kalpoes.during questioning and ask them things. Why wouldn’t you just call Paulus and say bring Joran in? Jacobs asking Dave how much money he had?

They are all pointing the finger at each other now..Rudy Croes is a joke..I remember him saying he didn’t rule out shutting Beth up..and what kind of police dept threatens the victims with stopping an investigation. NOT once did these cops or people in the govt..come out and support the victims family, stand up for Natalee and them, put a stop to all the viscious lies about the victim and her family..instead the hotel and govt..participated in it. UNREAL! Everyone and everything put forward as evidence , they went out to destroy and make it disappear.

I still remember Beth saying this..

BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY: I know one thing that Deepak Kalpoe did in August was, when the gardener came before the judge of instruction to give sworn testimony of witnessing those three suspects together in the Kalpoe brothers’ car that night at the pond, across the street from the Marriott, it was in front of the prosecutor, in front of the defense, the judge of instruction, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, Joran Van Der Sloot.

Deepak panicked. He panicked when the gardener gave that testimony. That very afternoon, he called an Aruban girl to help him establish an alibi. She, in turn, panicked. She called FBI. She dialed the 1-877-NATALEE number and told them that she did not want to be involved in this.

She sees her friends as they drive off, and tries to shout for help, but the drug she has been given causes her short term memory to fade, and as she opens her mouth to call to her friends, she can not remember what she was going to say. She manages to shout “Aruba, wooa.” He grabs her. In the process, he pulls and tears her clothing. She starts to protest, but forgets what she was going to say. She struggles less and is pulled into the car.

In a dream-like state, she sees the face and hears the voice of her mom, “Fight, fight, run, run.” The beautiful young girl shouts, “Stop, stop, let me out.” He hears voices too. He always hears them. They are evil sounding and commanding in nature. He likes what he hears. He will obey the voices. He always obeys. He is stronger, he is bigger, he is crazy, he has no discipline, he has no control. He never feels regret about his actions.

“Hitler made me do it,” he tells her. “My Mom and Dad will make Hitler seem like a milk maid by the time they finish with you”, she says.

      And so it happens.

      # Mr. Holloway

Well there is hope. Yesterday in Dutch TVShow ‘De Wereld Draait Door’ there was an interview with Parliamentarian Hero Brinkman of the political party PVV. He wants to know what has happened at Aruba. I posted a summary of that earlier.

Hero Brinkman: “I was tipped already that this obstruction of the investigation had happened.
We send millions and millions of euro’s to the antilles but still it is a bananarepublic.
The islands in the near future must be totally independent of the NL’s.”
Interviewer: “Sell them?” (This Hero Brinkman in the beginning of this year publicly said something like: Let’s put all these islands on Marktplaats.nl [the dutch Amazon.com or something])
Hero Brinkman again: “Everything must come to the surface now.
I’ve sent a letter to parliament and asked them for an investigation to get all things clear in the NH-investigation.
Maybe we even have to have an Parlementaire Enquete (official parliamentary investigation) on corruption on the Antilles.
I will ask the government to sent the Rijks Recherce (special police which investigates police conduct) to investigate what happened.”

Today I saw that there’s a long (/full?) transcript of that interview now on the SM blog:

Host: The minister of Justice, Rudy Croes, has made public now that police chief Jan van der Straten, a Dutchman, had been sleeping the first ten days on Aruba, on purpose, because he’s friends with Paul van der Sloot…the father of Joran…and this way the investigation….well actually corrupt from the beginning….you could say. To be short: there wasn’t a decent investigation.

      Hero: Yeah.

      H: What’s this?

Hero: I heard this before already; I had gotten a lot of tips from the Aruban community…also from the police that this was going on.

H: To be clear; you are known for your opinion that Aruba and the Dutch Antilles are a corrupt gang. That is a clear point of view and you might get tipped to confirm this. Did you know exactly how it happened…how it’s in the papers now?

Hero: They’re old stories…but it’s the first time a Minister admits this….but only after he got problems with that police chief who was critical concerning the police department on Aruba. But it’s completely incomprehensible that he’s coming out with this after all those years.

H: That man knew about this all these years!

      Hero: Yeah, apparently so.

      H: So he’s just as corrupt as…

Hero: Well, he just went through an investigation concerning corruption…and I’m not sure there is a verdict about that already…and this is really not that abnormal in Aruba – the Antilles.

H: Does this strengthen your opinion nothing is going right there?

Hero: It’s no good there; definitely.

H: So in that way I almost have to congratulate you…you are right.

Hero: No, no… Actually you shouldn’t congratulate any Dutchman that pays taxes but actually you should condole them. It is awful that we send millions and millions to those islands and every time it turns out it’s a banana republic.

H: What are we going to do about it?

      Hero: Sell it.

      H: Sell?

      Hero: Ah…yeah.

Other guest: That’s a good one.

Hero: If there’s money to be get out of it….No of course (as in: of course we’re not going to sell it).

Hero: We have to pursue a path where those islands become completely independent from the Netherlands. The articles of association has to change completely; new articles of associaton have to be formed in a manner that the island can become completely independent.

H: This case of Natalee Holloway, which has become a case with mythical proportions by now by Peter R. de Vries…..should we do something about that?

Hero: Yes, I do think so. I think we need to get to the bottom of it.

H: How are we going to do this?

Hero: I’ve requested a letter from the Ministry, because of the statements from Rudy Croes I want to know what the government thinks about this….if it’s correct. If the accusations of Minister Croes are correct; for example that a Dutch Minister requested 3 years ago that the fact that Joran was a Dutchman should be played down…let’s..

H: Who could that have been? He didn’t say which Minister…that can only be one though, right?

Hero: I’m going to ask the government…and they will surely answer me.

H: Who do you think it is?

Hero: I’m not going to tell you that.

      H: Don’t you think it’s Hirsch Ballin? {I *think* this *might* be that elusive name that Jossy dropped on Greta’s show – msmarple}

Hero: I think a lot..and I might think the same as you but I’m not going to say (what and the way he said it: he thinks it’s Hirsch Ballin…MO)

H: A parliamentary investigation…you mentioned that before as well when it’s about the Antilles & Aruba…you’re still thinking about that?

Hero: Well, look…I just want to get to the bottom of this…but first we’ll have a debate that will come from the letter I sent to the Ministry….If I don’t get answers then I think we need to have a parliamentary investigation.

H: What do you think of the case Joran van der Sloot? We’ve heard so many stories by now…Peter R. de Vries did his best.

      Hero: Yes, absolutely.

H: What do you think? Where is Natalee Holloway?

Hero: I’m afraid she’s in the ocean.

H: Then the theory of Peter R. de Vries…the car conversations are correct according to you?

Hero: Uhmm..yeah, I do think so. But again, we can think about what possibly happened…..

H: Yeah…I was just curious what you think happened.

Hero: Well, that is what I think. But that’s not really important…there has to come an investigation. I would like the Dutch government to send the National Police Internal Investigations Department to Aruba; to at least investigate the claims of Minister Croes. If that’s true it could give a new opening in this awful case.

H: That the father (PvdS) is involved as well?

Hero: Yes. That is a good possibility.

Other guest: Then you also get that this police chief Van der Straten is also involved then…in fact you get a whole new cesspool.

Hero: Yeah, but again…it’s the Antilles…and the Antilles are on big cesspool.

Other guest: that’s why I think it should stay with us….in some ways it’s a good soap…every time I hear stories about that banana republic there…in the end we are responsible for it……you can’t say: sell it…..we need to get rid of it. You can’t make them independent.

Hero: You can make it independent.

Other guest: ….(can’t hear what he says)

Hero: I am convinced, if you don’t give the people money and say…well you have a lot of debt…(Hero gets interrupted by the other guest a bit…can’t hear what he’s saying)…we are willing to invest 2 billion…because that’s what we’re planning to do; 2,5 billion we are going to invest….we are willing to do that but in the end you need to be completely independent from the Netherlands….than they will go along with that. Holland sold itself way to cheap….that’s the complete story.

In nowedays it’s more than ever about sex and money.

In this “case” bribes were paid, didn’t work, nothing did go away, would have been to easy to arrest two innocent black guys (and thanks to the monkeys it’s still here and alive).

Now, blackmailing each other, running out of money….or too much?
Bit by bit will come out. Putting the finger on each other.
Each time, when Youngsloot goes public, something very interesting comes out. It just needs to be put in the right sequence.

Nothing to celebrate by Christmas, could only be the end of a very very tooo long sad story.

Young sloot sure “organized” a blond girl (the one Paulus has chosen by the Gambling-Table) not for a strange guy from Venezuela ?!?….., but for his old man, that’s the way he “earnes” his gambling money. The old scum would never ever have a chance to connect with a beautyful young blonde girl, he used little scum as baite.

“If Momi would have been home….” …Papi would have been under control and home…

No beach, no lighthouse, no sharks, no Mariott…
Straight to Nord #19 (Vand der Scum residence)…
later to the muddy pond (whitness), because didn’t work out the way they wanted, because of the overdose of drugs??
We did it 20 times before…but this time, something went very very wrong.
Papi sloot panicked, searched the internet, could not get smart enough (shortbrained anyway)(Deepak: “your own father…… ????)

10 days, to find a “clean solution” by the involved rat pack.

Told you guys in the beginning (2005) when I posted under “Marta”. One hand washes the other and the whole island will rock and shake.

I lived in South-America for over 5 years and I know about Position, Uniforms and Corruption.
Aruba 95% Natives and 5% Dutch ruling the country, tells me enough!

And by the way: “don’t mention anything about a Dutch Boy….”

Stratten, Oldsluut & young scum (incl. Anita, Mos, Croes + Janssen etc.) go to helllll….
You did enough damages, hope you will all choke on your Christmas Turkey…

      PS
Deetch, I very much appreciate your posts and your page.

Carpe and waterboy where are you?

    46. Richard on December 5th, 2008 9:47 pm

EURobert, once again … thank you for your nonstop diligence and providing of information. You can be sure that I am planning an e-mail to Hero Brinkman.

Terri (#22) … Another thing to think about: it seems that Joran and the Kalpoes, and probably other members of the “Pimps,” were at the very least heavy watchers of porn and porn films. Many people think they were also into producing them.

Think about Aruba for a moment. An island where most people get their living from catering to tourists. These people from America, with more money and more leisure than most of the (law-abiding) locals will ever see descend upon Aruba and just let go.

They are easy-going, they are relatively affluent, and (apparently) for much of the time there they are extremely vulnerable. After all, people don’t go to Aruba for the symphony orchestras or the art galleries or museums.

Drug dealers score big in catering to them. The bars are filled.

So it’s conceivable that someone might not only think that they are easy prey, but that (in some perverted way) it is almost okay to “get back” at them. Perhaps the germ of an idea of seizing girls and selling them came into the minds of the Pimps, or some of them.

(Does it sound like the idea of a psychopath, or of a sociopath? Of whom have we been hearing those words bandied about recently?)

And perhaps their immersion in the world of porn could be a contributing factor.

We know that, on the big scale, arms trafficking, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and money laundering are all tied together.

I don’t think it’s preposterous to conjecture that these animals might have come up with such an idea. All it takes is one psychopath, with connections to the drug world….

And today the Dutch announce a clean-up of the brothels infesting Amsterdam’s tourism area.

Maybe Joran can stay in Thailand after all. Hey, maybe his criminal cohorts will decide that he’s expendable. Wouldn’t that be great!

Amsterdam to close many brothels, marijuana cafes
      Associated Press
      Saturday, Dec. 6

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – Amsterdam unveiled plans Saturday to close brothels, sex shops and marijuana cafes in its ancient city center as part of a major effort to drive organized crime out of the tourist haven.

The city is targeting businesses that “generate criminality,” including gambling parlors, and the so-called “coffee shops” where marijuana is sold openly. Also targeted are peep shows, massage parlors and souvenir shops used by drug dealers for money-laundering.

“I think that the new reality will be more in line with our image as a tolerant and crazy place, rather than a free zone for criminals” said Lodewijk Asscher, a city council member and one of the main proponents of the plan.

The news comes just one day after Amsterdam’s mayor said he would search for loopholes in new rules laid down by the national government that would close marijuana cafes near schools citywide. The measures announced Saturday would affect about 36 coffee shops in the center itself — a little less than 20 percent of the city total.

Asscher underlined that the city center will remain true to its freewheeling reputation.

“It’ll be a place with 200 windows (for prostitutes) and 30 coffee shops, which you can’t find anywhere else in the world — very exciting, but also with cultural attractions,” he said. “And you won’t have to be embarrassed to say you came.”

Under the plan announced Saturday, Amsterdam will spend euro30 million to euro40 million ($38 million to $51 million) to bring hotels, restaurants, art galleries and boutiques to the center. It will also build new underground parking areas.

Amsterdam already had plans to close many brothels and some coffee shops, but plans announced Saturday go further.

Asscher said the city would reshape the area, using zoning rules, buying out businesses and offering assistance to upgrade stores. The city has shut brothels and sex clubs in the past by relying on a law allowing the closure of businesses with bookkeeping irregularities.

Prostitution will be allowed only in two areas in the district — notably De Wallen (“The Walls”), a web of streets and alleys around the city’s medieval retaining dam walls. The area has been a center of prostitution since before the city’s golden shipping age in the 1600s.

Prostitution was legalized in the Netherlands in 2000, formalizing a long-standing tolerance policy.

Marijuana is technically illegal in the Netherlands, but prosecutors won’t press charges for possession of small amounts. Coffee shops are able to sell it openly.

#43 I email these guys earlier this year. I say the more the better. Flood them with emails asking them to look into the cover up. And to do it right. Look into each person involved the lawers, judges, police and suspects. And do this in the open for all to see. Aruba will then heal.

    55. kitty on December 6th, 2008 11:38 am

Steve, nice to see you posting again… we’re praying ~

EuRobert, why hasn’t the National Police Internal Investigations Department been involved from early on? Does this have to go to Parliment first? Will this happen? (Fascinating post by the way)

Richard, having been to the Netherlands twice and having friends and relatives from there, the country has changed to a very liberal one… much like the USA, I thought prostitution was legal 11 years ago? perhaps not… Amesterdam is a beautiful city and it’s good to hear that there are those who wish to reshape that area.. it was quite an education having seen it in person. (and having to explain to your 2 young sons, what the “toys” in the windows of many shops were, was something we weren’t prepared for, however, we handled it well enough. They were everywhere. There are 5 churches surrounding the zoned red light district.. it would be nice, if the doors were opened, and folks were back to hearing Gods word ~

When Joran went to Thailand, not a surprise… Think about it. There is much human slavery/trafficking/sexual abuse of young children that is a well known world fact… makes you wonder why was he there?

When the tsunami hit years ago, the newscommentators were mentioning about the orphaned children and the concern was that they’d be sold into sex slavery/prostitution… Keep talking Joran, keep talking.

Another thought came to mind regarding trafficking ~ recall the Dr. Phil show and the private I that went over to Venezuala … didn’t he get knived?… perhaps, he was hot on a trail… not much more was said about this… perhaps, there are truths to much of the lies Joran’s been telling… it obviously, all went awry… keep talking Joran, keep talking.

When Beth confronted Paalus, many of us, were so proud of her!.. the beads of sweat pouring off that man, was extremely telling ~ it wasn’t the heat of the day, making him sweat either ~ she’s one amazing woman and that took pure guts to confront him… God Bless her.

for this investigation being botched from the beginning, showed many of us, that there is much corruption and fear is running amok ~ nobody’s talking, for fear of their own lives… (wasn’t some bar owner killed?).. it seemed very obvious, that there is corruption.. people being silenced ~ wow… this will be very interesting, if the truth ever were to come out. It’s way too BIG.

I pray, the National Police Dutch team gets down there.. that they get permission from Parliment, bring in their National Police Investigative Team in and make em all talk…(give them some pentathol, like they did to the guy who bombed in India…recently.. he sure talked)…

Make Van Straaten, Creos,Paalus,Anita, Joran’s brother..et~ all:…systematically, one by one… make them answer questions ~ take your time DutchMEN, these boys will squirm if you go down there and investigate…

We’ve all been praying 3 1/2 years, we can pray more ~ we’ve all been patient to hear truth

Many are believing that the truth will eventually come out.

We’re committed to praying for truth, for resolve and for your family(s) Steve…Especially, for Beth.

I agree with #13—the OBVIOUS IS OBVIOUS again.

Is Aruba LE ever going to do anything about it? This is truly nauseating & believe no justice will ever be served. They have had eyewitnesses AT THE SCENE the morning Natalee disappeared who can identify JVDS and his Scumbag Father Paulus for Crissakes!!!!!!

Sheesh…don’t even get me going here people! Look at Steve Holloway’s post #54.,…..great idea but we Monkeys have done this in the past and nothing ever happens, why?

When corruption and evil runs this deep in any Government, it is too powerful to overcome and the guilty will always be protected so that the huge “house of cards” does not fall. This goes much deeper than just Natalee Holloway’s disappearance & murder, I believe those in the know understand the bigger picture also.

“… EuRobert, why hasn’t the National Police Internal Investigations Department been involved from early on? …”

That’s a good question. I remember that I and other dutchies posted post- and emailaddresses of the Queen, ministers, and so on, here last year or the year before that. After that (or maybe even because of the fact that many SM-posters sent letters/emails to those addresses) Dutch authorities changed the head-public-prosecutor at Aruba and sent in more Dutch investigators. (Karin Janssen > Hans Mos. Yeah, that helped a lot…) Maybe they didn’t take the “corruption”-allegations that seriously after all and maybe it was just a ‘polish’- or superficial ‘make-over’ attempt.
It would have been appropriate to get the ‘Rijks Recherche’ (Internal Invest. Dep.) in at that time. You are right about that.
I don’t know for sure why they didn’t.
Hero Brinkman is a former police officer; he knows what goes on at the streets and he’s a very straight forward guy. I think if he says he will go to bottom of it all he will seriously make an effort. But a lot depends on the politicians in The Hague. I don’t know what the official procedure is to get the Rijks Recherche in. But there’s a good chance that that at least will happen.

    59. EURobert on December 6th, 2008 4:01 pm

      Here’s a (Google-transl.) Dutch Wikipedia-article on the Rijks Recherche. http://tinyurl.com/6dppvj

The other option Hero Brinkman mentioned is a so called “Parlementaire Enquete” (Parliamarian Inquiry) which is comparible with a US Congressional Hearing I think. But that would be about “Corruption at the Dutch Antilles” I guess. And you can wonder what role the Natalee Holloway case would play in such a hearing; not a big one I’m afraid.

Keep the pressure on… press on!

      LOL

Yes, you’re right: we celebrated Sinterklaas yesterday; with a ‘Boxing Evening’. But Sinterklaas over here has nothing to do with Christmas. It’s just the ‘Birthday’ of a ‘Saint’ (St. Nicholas). The fact that he’s so big over here is that he’s a.o. the Patron Saint of seafarers and thus even since the Middle Ages he’s the Patron Saint of Amsterdam.

We celebrate Christmas at the 25th (and 26th) of December as well.
Originally we didn’t have Santa Claus at Christmass as you have. But now we have adopted your Santa as well and so we have TWO Boxing Days in December. The children LOVE that….

      Thanks anyway!

Thanks EuRobert (smile)… my friend Joop, used to call us from the Netherlands and we’d share about Pete and Sinterklaas…(he’s since passed, way to young! One of your countries finer farmers)… nice to know, it’s the Birthday of St. Nicholas… and you too, celebrate Christmas on the 25th… nice to hear about your children as well… it’s my favorite Holiday, and Santa has nothing to do with it, but the Birth of Jesus, does.

I watched extreme boxing last night with my nephew and husband… a guy from England won the title…. tough to watch…(we like boxing too)…

anyhow, the link provided was an interesting read and the last paragraph, especially. As they investigate corruption, etc., What,or whom would it be that would inspire the
Rijksrecherche to become involved? If that is even where it would begin? Or would someone in Aruba need to call in the Rijks…? I found it interesting, in the last of sentences.. they Ithe Rijks..) usually respond in one hour of a call… wow… will somebody, make the call?

Bless your family and all this Christmas, enjoy the boxing and I miss Stroopwaffels and Drop…not to mention the fabulous food and cheese! (smile)…

look on Drudge Report 2009, and read about Amsterdams closing of brothels, coffee shops and how the Government is taking it further than just removing a small amount… apparently to minimize the criminal activity and laundering of money, etc…

found it very interesting and the answer to when prostitution was legalized, Richard got it ~ 2000 it was legalized… so interesting, as I thought much earlier than that!

It would be refreshing returning to that beautiful city after it’s cleaned up a bit… new stores, museums, etc.. The Netherlands is spending big, big money on this massive cleaning up effort… sure to piss off a lot of people, though.

EURobert, does anyone in the Netherlands get exasperated about how Aruba keeps dithering on the question of who is running the investigation?

It seems as though nobody, anywhere, can answer the simplest questions. The truth is, of course, they don’t want to. Doesn’t anyone in the Dutch parliament, other than Brinkman, feel like slapping the Arubans down to size?

    69. Richard on December 6th, 2008 9:30 pm

EU Robert, did you know that there is a new Dutch ambassador to the U.S.? At least, that is what it says on the Dutch Embassy’s Web site … a hot-looking babe (well, at least as ambassadors go).

I wrote to the Dutch Embassy here time and again, with nary a reply.

Ditto for my letters to Bush, the State Department, and just about anyone else I could think of.

I wrote to Queen Beatrix (hope I remember the right name!) of the Netherlands; a lady-in-waiting, or some such title, replied awhile after, saying that the letter had been passed on to somebody from Aruba. Well, you don’t expect royalty to reply directly to riff-raff anyway.

But I did get two balanced, intelligent, and (as I thought) sympathetic replies from the Dutch prime minister.

    70. Richard on December 6th, 2008 9:32 pm

Boxing Day is more of a British thing than an American one. (I believe that in Britain, it is or used to be the custom to give gifts to one’s household staff, butlers, etc.) Most Americans probably have never heard of it.

    72. Steve Holloway on December 6th, 2008 10:21 pm

      #57 Hey,
No I never got a response. I believe the name of one them is Hero Brinkman and another was a woman, don’t remember the name. She was in an Aruban article about corruption.

I had went to the Dutch website that had the names of the ministers and looked at what they were over and email anyone that could help. Well nothing happen, but at least I tried.

    73. Waterboy on December 6th, 2008 10:36 pm

I know no one reads much I write. But—-and I must admit, it’s okay, cause a lot of my post are just to clarify my own thoughts on this case anyway.

I thought this before, and I don’t know if anyone has observed this. I think so. I think some one noticed this.

When Beth confronted Paulus, what did Paulus do? What did he do the first night? He sweated like a pig—right?

Look at this picture of Jan Van der Straten why is he sweating? When was this picture taken? Under what circumstances? I’m a man with no calluses on my hands, but I could use my hands and body like someone with calluses s for 3 or 4 hours and drink 5 gallons of water in 105 degree weather and not have my shirt this sweaty. Every inch of single fabric is soaked, with the exception of the patch of fabric on his right shoulder, down his right arm, and a few other places.

I say—what the hell! What could make a man sweat like that? Any one have an explanation?

I hope this new statement of Croes will finally get things moving i.e. bring in the Rijksrecherche. If nothing happens now then I give up. (Until maybe Peter R. de Vries or someone else comes up with the final evidence.)

      # 70 Richard on December 6th, 2008 9:32 pm

Thanks for explaining. I thought Boxing-day was the unpacking of gifts at Christmas both in the UK and the US. We btw call the evening of December 5 ‘pakjes-avond’ (= packages-evening).

      # 73 Waterboy. I noticed VdStraten sweating buckets too! He probably is geneticly closely related to Paulus Van Der Sweat. ;•)

Meanwhile, here’s an update on the tragic situation of that boy held captive for a year in Tracy, Calif.
During his imprisonment, he was starved and abused.

Well, guess what, folks? The ‘experts’ say that they are surprised at all this, and that they never would have thought it was happening.

      Reasonable enough: who would have?

But had they been asked about it, before the news became public, they doubtless would have said it was preposterous. After all, as we know, such things don’t happen in real life.

Not here, and not in the Caribbean either.

Once again, the advice of the ‘experts’ was in total contradiction to the confusion and the slimyness of real life.

We should perhaps keep this in mind when we hear people say that something ‘couldn’t have’ happened….

Calif. city at loss to explain case of abducted teen
      Associated Press
      December 7, 2008

TRACY, Calif. — City officials and child-abuse EXPERTS (my emphasis – R) don’t understand how the abduction and torture of a teenage boy could have gone undetected for more than a year in this middle-class community once dubbed the second-safest in Northern California.

“Unless this child was chained in the basement for the duration, it’s just not possible that somebody could not have seen something,” said Lindy Turner-Hardin, executive director of the nonprofit Child Abuse Prevention Council of San Joaquin County.

But neighbors of a Tracy couple didn’t notice much, except that the 16-year-old boy looked very skinny when he was spotted taking out the trash recently. And he was seldom seen outside even though he was of school age.

Authorities said the couple and the boy’s former guardian repeatedly used a baseball bat, a knife and a belt to abuse the teen, often keeping him in chains. The emaciated boy stumbled into a gym behind the family’s home Monday with a chain padlocked to his ankle, pleading for safety and shelter.

Michael Schumacher, 34, and his wife Kelly Layne Lau, 30, are accused of more than a dozen charges, including torture, kidnapping and child abuse. The boy’s former guardian, Caren Ramirez, 43, was charged with similar offenses.

All three, who have yet to enter pleas, are expected to appear in court Monday. They could face life in prison if convicted.

Authorities said the boy, who had escaped from a group foster home, was abused in the two-story Tudor-style house separated by a fence from the gym where he was discovered. A contractor and a Girl Scout leader were raising four young children there in what the wife’s MySpace page depicted as a happy household devoted to dance recitals and Oakland Raiders football.

“This has been kind of a shock for us to gain attention this way,” said Suzanne Tucker, mayor pro tem of Tracy. “We’re a family-oriented community with a small-town feel where neighbors know each other.”

Until this case made national headlines, an increase in gang violence was the highest-profile crime problem in Tracy, which was rated the second-safest city in Northern California by a recent survey.

But Turner-Hardin said that San Joaquin county, where Tracy is located, had lately seen an increase in requests for child abuse services. At the same time, the city just east of San Francisco has had one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation.

“With the housing market and unemployment rates really going through the roof, kids sometimes get the bad end of that,” she said.

The boy had been under the care of Sacramento County’s child welfare system after Ramirez was charged with beating him. He went missing from a group home in May 2007.

Authorities said he returned to Ramirez two months later, this time living in the couple’s Tracy home.

After the boy escaped from the group home, officers filed a missing persons report, said Sacramento police spokesman Sgt. Norm Leong. Noting that police respond to about five runaway calls a day, Leong said the boy was never located.

Dr. Victor Carrion, who studies the effects of trauma on children at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, said IT WASN’T SURPRISING THAT THE BOY RETURNED TO THE PEOPLE WHO BEAT HIM. (My emphasis -R) Abused children almost certainly develop post-traumatic stress disorder and begin to believe they deserve the mistreatment, he said.

It’s more surprising when a child manages to flee rather than stay and endure more abuse.

“How strong of him … to be able to still think there’s the possibility of escape and to know where to go,” he said.

    78. Richard on December 7th, 2008 12:28 pm

At age 17, this boy wasn’t exactly a child … but these comments should prove illuminating to all those who say, “Oh, someone in a situation of duress would of course appeal for help, first thing.”

And this happened in his own country….

      Question:

What type of “hold” does Paalus have on Van der Straaten, and others, that they would keep silent for so long? Is he (Joran, Paalus, etc.,) worth that much to cover up this heinous crime for this long? You’d think these guys would love to throw Joran “under the bus” with just his behavior… deep threats ~ or better, perhaps ~ permanent silence, if you speak?

Murder, destroying lives of families of Natalee, bringing down an entire Island’s economy … for what, for who? is it worth all that?

      Just unbelievable!

The truth shall set and Island free on this one…

also what ever happened to one of the younger children saying to friends at school that “natalee was in the bath tub”. i remember reading that somewhere.

Consider e-mailing Dutch Members of Parliament.

When there is consensus in the Dutch Parliament that they want the Dutch Government to enforce article 43 of the Kingdom Charter (about good governance, rule of law), only then the Dutch Justice Minister Hirsch Ballin will do something.

The statements by Aruban Justice Minister Rudy Croes are a major embarrassement for the Dutch Government.

      Rudy Croes:

““Why was a beach-bum accused at that time, who has been a choller before? He had supposedly done it, while internally it was known that he hadn’t done it. Very special is also the fact that the Dutch language was used during Joran’s interrogation, while he is fluent in Papiamento, same as our detective. Our people could have done their work much better if the conversations were done in their own language. Why was he so privileged? Simply because it were ‘Dutch-friends’; all three of them: Joran, Paul, and Jan. Don’t forget that a Dutch minister had asked me at that time not to mention that Joran is a European Dutch citizen. I won’t say who this person is, but if by any chance I have to mention his name, I definitely will. We felt abandoned by the Netherlands when Aruba was so devastated by the case. I have told this to the Dutch premier Balkenende, state secretary Bijleveld (Kingdom Relations), and minister Hirsch-Ballin (Justice). But until now, everybody has remained quit and has let the world besmear Aruba’s name. They abandoned us and let us suffer.”

The coming week is crucial with debates in the Dutch Parliament about Aruba/Antilles on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – leading op to the Round Table Conference between the Prime-Ministers of The Netherlands, Aruba and The Antilles in Curaçao on December 15th.

Sue, it’s because of people like you that Stephany Flores is dead. You had a killer walking your streets free with the Minister of Justice protecting the Van der Sloot family and all you can do is make a post about what is wrong with America. Now Stephany Flores is killed. Another daughter taken. I bet you are going to blame HER for being murdered by Joran. Yes, you will say it is HER fault for going to a hotel room with a strange guy but it is no JORAN’s fault for actually being a homicidal maniac. No, you give him a free pass. He can kill whoever he wants only the WOMEN are to blame. You are a sick bitch. I bet when you read a fellow Arudan killed another girl you went to the bathroom and masterbatered while reading the news article.

Sue, if someone from Aruba was murdered in America and the murderer got away because he was the son of a top judge who was the friend of the top police commissioner, I would say absolutely, go ahead and boycott America.

On the fifth anniversary of Natalee Holloway’s disappearance, a girl is found murdered in the hotel room registered to Joran Van Der Sloot in Peru. Yes, the bloods of two girls are now on the hands of Paulus Van Der Sloot (judge and Joran’s father) and Jan Van Der Straten (Paulus’s close friend and Police Commissioner), as well as Joran.

I’d say continue to boycott Aruba.
