Yesterday, Aruban authorities spoke with Peruvian authorities about meeting with Joran van der Sloot. Joran claims he is willing to divulge now where Natalee Holloway is buried and exactly what happened that night 5 years ago.

Van der Sloot questioning not likely until August, Aruba says
I did in fact read that his Lawyer dropped the case yesterday in The Post(NY)
“Aruba also will have to wait to see what information may be contained in a laptop computer Peruvian authorities confiscated when they arrested van der Sloot, Blanken said. The FBI will obtain that information from Peru and then share it with Aruban investigators, Blanken said.”
The Peruvian officials are definitely not stupid. They are partnering and sharing info with the FBI first for one very good reason. They clearly know Aruba officials covered up Natalee’s murder for their good friend PAULUS. This is not going to happen again! Stephany’s blood is on their hands!
No questioning until August? That’s good news! That will give him a little time to settle into and enjoy his new digs.
Wonder why Aruba’s not dropping all immediately to rescue the scum from himself again. Maybe Peru LE and/or inmates will have him softened up by then. Maybe they’ll find so much info on his computer they won’t need him to tell them anything. Can’t believe a word he says, anyway.

I heard Stephany’s brother say on NG yesterday that the family doesn’t care if he does his time in Aruba jail and I sort of think Peru wouldn’t mind not having to baby sit him to keep him from being “killed” as he fears. I just hope he does have to stay in Peru where there are no special comforts for him so he can think about what he has done.
Aruba must 1st answer to the world why they let this murderer go free to do it again. Then they can talk to Peruvian officials.
I heard on one of the morning programs that Anita VDS wont be going to Peru because she has had death threats. I wonder how she feels to be in fear for her life. Peru is not stupid and if what you posted is correct about them sharing info with the FBI and then the FBI can share info with ARUBA then that just proves how really smart they are.
I don’t think we need to worry about Peru turning him over to Aruba. I think Peru might just dangle that in front of him to get some evidence but I don’t think they will follow through.
Once Joran is convicted of Stephany’s death and they turn him over to general population to serve his sentence I really doubt that they are going to care less about what happens to him or what he tries to negotiate. One thing I find unsettling is when I see shots of Urine with Peruvian police, he looks way too calm and in control, and the people around him look so passive. Hopefully it’s a MUCH different look for all, off-camera.

In Exclusive ’20/20′ Interview, Melody Granadillo Says She’s Now Scared Looking Into First Love’s Eyes
Before the world knew him as a notorious alleged killer of young women, Melody Granadillo knew Joran van der Sloot as a personal prince charming.
“He was amazing. … He was romantic,” the 23-year-old said of her former boyfriend and first love, in an exclusive interview to air on “20/20″ Friday. “It was very playful, very honest. We could sit and talk for hours. We liked looking into each other’s eyes.”
The couple met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in Aruba in October 2003 and dated for seven months. The 16-year-old quickly fell head over heels in love with 17-year-old van der Sloot — the man she calls “Chi Chi” or “Mr. Wiggles.”
In the “20/20″ interview, Granadillo describes van der Sloot as sweet and charming. She recalls how for her 17th birthday, he surprised her with her favorite candy. “I told him I liked red Skittles … and what he did was he made this vase at school, went and bought a lot of Skittles packets, he took all the red ones out … and as a present I got a vase full of red Skittles,” Granadillo said. “He did things like that … he was real thoughtful.”
The teen saved everything from her dashing Dutch suitor, including a diary they shared, filled with pages upon pages of pictures, cards, emails and love poems.
In the diary, Granadillo, who said they discussed marriage and kids, writes of one of their first sexual encounters: “We fooled around a lot. He wanted a lap dance. I barely gave it. It was an awesome night. Romantic and fun. Also, I gave him a hickey.”
Van der Sloot’s Web of Lies
But while van der Sloot was playing Romeo, Granadillo says she learned that their romance was built on a web of lies.
“He would lie for no apparent reason at all … and if you caught him at it … he would double down and be even more serious about the story,” she said.
Granadillo claims he told her that he was also a virgin, but was really a promiscuous playboy who cheated on her with multiple women.
Despite their break-up, Granadillo never lost contact with van der Sloot — staying in touch through the disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway and up until his now-infamous trip to Peru.
Granadillo talks to Cuomo about the Holloway’s disappearance and her contact with van der Sloot during his trip to Peru where he met and allegedly killed 21-year-old Stephany Flores.
With van der Sloot now awaiting trial in a Peruvian prison, Granadillo says while she doesn’t regret their experience together, the man whose eyes she loved looking into is long gone.
“It’s not connectable. You can’t connect that. It’s not the same person,” she said. “You see he’s hurt. You see he’s in trouble.”

He was NOT born a killer is what my post should have read. He’s not a monster either. Natalie accidentally died and he didn’t want to be blamed for her death so he covered it up and lied about it. That doesn’t make you a monster or a killer, but a scared 17-year-old. Stephany he killed out of desperation because he felt he had no choice. He killed her to save himself. If that is true, any details? How frustrating! The thing I always found odd was the pics and video of Arubans out washing rocks, then spray painting/marking some rocks on the Island (near Lighthouse? can’t remember location) in the beginning of the case. There is digital evidence of them doing this. Question is….why? That was so odd.
Thus, the confusion of where Natalee’s remains might ever be…. At Sea, or somewhere on that stinking, corrupt hell hole of an Island. There have been many theories as to where on that Island she could be. Since the vast majority of it has been searched, who knows. She also could have been moved several times. Something still tells me that about one of the only things Joran was ever truthful about was putting our dear Nat in the Ocean. It seems like the ocean scenario makes the most sense since it takes time and effort to dig, and I don’t know for sure on Aruba, but it seems like it is mostly rock. The dirt would not go down that deep, in places where there is dirt. I am thinking of the landscape at the lighthouse and in general how caribbean islands I have been to are. Most trees are the type with shallow roots or roots that sit on top of the ground. What about the well at his house? I just heard about that..don’t know if it’s true.
But I think if they are looking int he light blue, shallower water they are not going nearly far enough.

Aruba has no interest in closure on the Natalie Holloway case. They are just as satisfied that Joran dies in a Peruvian prison for Stephany’s muder. The sooner the better for them for least exposure.
I think Aruba believes that once Van Der Sloot is gone the story is over and they are so very wrong! They never did understand the continuity or willpower of the American people. They don’t understand UNITED WE STAND!

Arubans urge Holloway’s father to delay search during Peruvian probe

(CNN) — Aruban authorities are urging Natalee Holloway’s father, Dave Holloway, to delay volunteer search efforts in her disappearance until police get better information on the case from Peruvian investigators who have spoken to Joran van der Sloot, prosecutor Peter Blanken said.
Police do not want their investigation jeopardized or possible evidence contaminated in the Bubali Bird Sanctuary, a swamp area where Joran once said he dumped Holloway’s body, Blanken said. Aruban authorities wish to search a more focused area once they receive more information from van der Sloot and his laptop, which may include files linking him to the Holloway disappearance.

5 years and counting.. NO way do I believe Joran Van Der Sloot was able to carry off the “disappearance” all on his own.. Look at the sloppy job he did in Peru.. without any help.

Susan and Lisa: Boycotting is good – first we had North America due to Natalee and now perhaps South America due to Stephany. 2 Continents is alot of tourists. If boycotting works, citizens of Aruba and Netherlands would finally finally force Netherlands to do a full investigation on the cover-up by Aruban authorities 5 years ago and still on-going. Aruba lies when they say they must wait until August. Hello! The modern world has phones and faxes and e-mails and communications between Aruba and/or the Netherlands and Joran thru his lawyer and his mother and brothers. They don’t have to personally arrive in Peru to have discussions with him. Duh!!!! Such BS by Aruba! They don’t want any more searches cuz they’re still hoping Natalee’s remains will continue to deteriorate more.
P.S. and Joran did NOT say “I will only talk about Natalee to Aruba if they appear in person here.” He said “I will only talk about Natalee with the Aruban authorities.” He did not give limitations on how he communicated with them – i.e, thru his lawyer and/or his mom or by phone of fax. Again, Aruban authorities excuses about waiting until August! Joran is evidently willing to talk NOW. Only they are not!
I don’t believe that girl, no one has even heard of her before, she’s just looking for money to sell a story and 20/20 is going to give it to her. They said Joran was a big bully in school, always shoving everyone around. Use to beat up his brother. Would throw bricks through his parents windows. Threw a man off the bridge. I doubt if Joran was ever a good kid. Spoiled beyond rotten.

SM: Melody Granadillo has been known to us since the beginning of the case. She was even one of Joran’s character witnesses. She has been posting on blogs about Joran since the beginning of the case (especially in the very beginning). She has been and continues to be very friendly with Anita. I agree she’s likely looking for money but I don’t doubt that most of what she is saying is true. Joran is a sociopath IMO and can sweet talk a girl then lose his temper and kill her. I have personally shared emails with Melody and I told her she was very LUCKY he didn’t kill HER (klaasend)
