Wow – maybe there will be justice – since Paulus is not around to save his baby – what a psycho! Hope the Peruvian police nail him! You know, it’s inevitable that Joran would do something like this again….My prayers are with Natalee’s family & the Flores family. We are thinking of you here in Pittsburgh, PA.

Young victim buried, allegedly murdered by Dutchman Van der Sloot

The alleged criminal was deported to Chile

      Trade / GDA

Lima- In the middle of scenes from pain and sorrow, Stephany Flores Ramírez, 21-year-old remains were buried in the cemetery Jardines de la Paz in the District of La Molina. At the funeral attended the young lady’s relatives, friends and schoolmates, as well as a large number of Peruvian and foreign journalists.

The coffin with the remains of Stephany was taken from the Holy Name Of Jesus Church in Chacarilla, Surco, where the wake was held from Wednesday night. Shortly afterwards they got the news that Joran van der Sloot, alleged murderer of the young woman in Santiago of Chile was apprehended. Flores stated later on that the young American Natalee Holloway, allegedly killed by Van der Sloot, will finally rest in peace.

As ABC, Fox News and CNN, media arrived in Perú to report on the last farewell to the Lima girl, whose killer would be the same that killed an American in Aruba in 2005.

      =================================================

You know I wrote this yesterday (or the day before) and I will say it again. Peruvians are extremely tough, very kind people, who won’t show their mourn, cry, and genuinely good people.

For Mr. Flores, in the middle of her daughter’s funeral, the sole mention and thoughts of Natalee in that moment, claiming that justice has been done breaks my heart to a million pieces.

No parent should bury their child; but what is breathtaking to me, is that while this is going on with him personally, that he thinks of another family, way up north that went through a similar circumstance.

My hat’s off to Mr. Flores and his family. Que Stefanie descanse en paz, y que Dios les dé consuelo a sus familiares y amigos.

Possibly I may be the only one, but I feel sorry for Anita. I think her only sin was overindulging Joran his entire life, and being unable to believe he was capable of such an atrocity when Natalee went missing. Poor thing, from what I am reading she now knows all the depravity Joran is capable of, and has distanced herself and her two other boys from Joran long since. If any good comes from this, I hope this will lead to Beth and Dave finally finding a semblance of peace and recovering Natalee’s remains, and to Anita finally having Joran getting his punishment and letting this tragedy finally end for all. Aruba shares mightily in the blame for this young Peruvian girl’s death.

Exactly, Greg! who knows how many women Joran has assaulted or murdered ? Shame on the Aruban authorities-you are as vile as Joran and Paulus!!!!…vile…Joran, I hope you are scared – I assume Peruvian prisons are no joke…Joran, have you ever seen “Midnight Express”? Maybe they’ll let you rent that in the Peruvian prison…Bravo Peruvian & Chilean police!!Bravo! We applaud you here in Pittsburgh, PA!!

I believe like most people that he is guilty fo both murders. However, at this point there is no proof of his guilt. I hope they find the proof and hang his deviant ass. They ought to do it like they do in Iran, from a crane.

I haven’t felt sorry for Anita since I saw her on on the news programs.. laughing and saying ” He put the girl on the beach and that is all he knows” or since she said Natalee is only one person..as in move on. Anita went on to say to Greta that Joran didn’t drink, smoke, do drugs or gamble. He was a delicious sporter. He would always give her 3 thick kisses. He was never treated for anger issues..just to improve his study habits.

Here is the article.. about little girls spending the night since he was 14..

Joran is a delicious boy ‘ by Floor Ligtvoet Thursday 30 March 2006 –

After some flirting at Carlos n Charlie’s and necking in the car, he explained, he brought Natalee back to her to hotel. Instead he left the little girl alone on the beach, he later admitted. The American media jumped on an all out hunt for Joran. Weekly photographs and old video of the Dutchman filled the American news shows. He is called a liar, a rapist, and an assassin. Joran’s possible involvement in Natalee’s disappearance proves to be a ratings hit. In one go the seventeen-year-old adolescent is world-famous. Who he is and from what kind of a nest he comes, is well known. Still for Anita van der Sloot, Joran’s mother, in the family house in the rural district of Noord where the dog smells the visitor before the gate opens. “Quiet”, Anita quiets the loudly barking dog, “It is OK.” The small blonde woman enters to a large dining table to sit. She is really not in the mood to talk. The family has already had so much crap poured out about them. But the flow of rumors concerning Joran does not stop. A day earlier a high-level police source whispered anonymously, that joran had been treated for lying. Nonsense, asserts Anita firmly. Her son has undergone only counseling to improve his study habits. Jorans father, former judge in training Paul van der sloot arrives after a long workday. Tired, he gives a deep sigh: “Joran lies no more than every other adolescent.” Paul wants rest at home. The family has the last year stood under enormous pressure, he complains. Their oldest, Joran, is surely not an angel. Every detail from his personal life is entirely taken out of context. “We must refer to the disappearance not the murder.” He talks gently and in a controlled way concerning his child, but Anita excites herself concerning the bad tales that circulate on the island. Joran gambling – and sex-addicted? He is simply a delicious youth! A delicious adolescent, who lives for friends, sport, and family. Oké, he has adolescent traits. Not always sticks to his appointments. If he is supposed to be home at one at night her turns off his cell so his parents can’t call him. If he gets in trouble later, he gives his concerned mother three thick kisses. They don’t have to worry, he is home now. Anita is enraged that her son is accused of rape. “He was in fact very loving with his girlfriends” Joran had always many little girls around him but the contact was frequently only friendly, she says. “They went with each other for as a brother and sisters” Paul wants to show Joran’s room. However., friends, both little girls and boys, could always spend the night he says as he crosses the garden to the outbuilding. Since he was 15 Joran had here, beside the swimming pool and at a reasonable distance of the parental house, his own bedroom and bathroom. Paul opens the door carefully. “Look, here slept four or five during the sleepovers. It was always completely normal. On Aruba it is normal to sleep over at someone else’s place. Minors are on the island entirely dependent on parents or friends with a driver’s license pick up and bring them. During a conversation in Arnhem Joran says he was always super-glad have his own room. “The privacy was very fine, especially if there were friends.” Of course he had also ordinary friendships with girls, says he as he hears his parents reaction. “One girlfriend slept ten times in my bed without ever something happening between us.” Attraction must come, as it happens, however, from two sides, finds he. If that is the case, however, he does not see, honestly said, the problem. Joran was already from age 14 having sex with girls. Also American. “On the island there lives a little the feeling that they are easy.

      Article of the Day!!!!!!!!!!

Peruvian President Alan Garcia said Van der Sloot must face justice in the Andean country.

Chile to march Van der Sloot back into Peru
      By Reuters

TACNA, Peru – Chile Friday deported to Peru a Dutch man who is wanted for the murder of a young woman in Lima and has been linked to the 2005 disappearance of an American teenage girl in Aruba.

Chile flew Joran Van der Sloot to its far north and handed him over to Peruvian police at the border, said Douglas Ramirez, a police official in the northern town of Arica.

A forlorn-looking Van der Sloot was handcuffed and wearing a bullet-proof vest when Peruvian police escorted him into the country in the southern Tacna region.

Van der Sloot is the prime suspect in the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores, whose body was found in a Lima hotel room Wednesday.

Javier Villa, the head of Peru’s judiciary, told reporters that Van der Sloot could face at least 25 years in prison if found guilty of murdering Flores, the daughter of a wealthy businessman.

This week Peruvian police said they were “convinced” that Van der Sloot was responsible for killing Flores, a business student.

He was stopped by police in central Chile Thursday after traveling hundreds of miles from the border to a beach resort city near the capital, Santiago.

Chilean police said Van der Sloot has denied he was involved in the murder of Flores. Van der Sloot, in his early 20s, travels the world to participate in poker tournaments and was in Peru for that reason, local media reported.

Police said Van der Sloot and Flores met at a casino in Lima, and that they may have played poker together.

The murder probe has brought renewed attention to the case of Natalee Holloway, an 18-year-old American from Alabama who disappeared during a high school graduation trip in the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba.
Van der Sloot was arrested twice in the Holloway case, which was much publicized in the United States, but he was never charged due to insufficient evidence.

Peruvian President Alan Garcia said Van der Sloot must face justice in the Andean country.

“If he is found guilty, he’ll have to serve a sentence here. After that he could be extradited to the United States, where he may have to serve another sentence for extortion, and then the Dutch judges may want to get hold of him,” he said.
Alabama authorities issued an arrest warrant for Van der Sloot on extortion charges linked to Holloway’s disappearance.
Peruvian police said Flores was killed on May 30, the same date that Holloway disappeared in 2005.

    15. Lisa in Maryland on June 4th, 2010 8:35 pm

Let’s see him lie his way out of this one! They are so convinced they have to put a bullet proof vest on that bag of crap!

    18. Lisa in Maryland on June 4th, 2010 9:49 pm

Fox news is reporting that the trial will be held by three judges and over the preponderance of evidence not beyond a reasonable doubt as it is here in the US! Joran had a mad mob in Peru to greet him and they had to put a bullet proof vest on him. They are calling it the trial of the century for Peru.

Stephany’s brother said they are proud of her as she gave her life for the Natalee Holloway case! Can you imagine that!

People we are seeing it … Justice For Natalee!!!!

#16–Carpe— Yep— Dahmered or he is going to commit suicide because he cannot handle what is about to happen to his filthy, rotten evil Dutch Arse.

The Sporter may have the intestinal fortitude to murder innocent girls, but no guts to face his own destiny. He won’t be able to handle it—but here’s to hoping they get to him first! I hope he suffers 10,000,00 times worse than what he did to Nat and Stephany. Get the feeling he will, too. Oh, happy day.

    21. Jackie on June 5th, 2010 12:26 am

I think it will also be found that he has a drug problem and a gambling addiction. He is a desperate person and never had control. He had no discipline growing up it could only escalate.

    22. Michelle on June 5th, 2010 2:00 am

I think his only problem was being overindulged and spoiled by his parents. In their eyes, the sporter could do no wrong. I wonder what happened in his life that he has such disregard for women. Angry at his own mother maybe? Did she not give him enough attention? Did she not indulge him enough?

    23. Just Bearly on June 5th, 2010 6:56 am

Baseball bat??? I read a tennis racquet found at the scene may have been the weapon. Police advised the dad not to view the body.

I hope the perp gets a speedy, just trial, and plenty of years sentenced to hell in a worst case scenario confined cell left to whiter and to dine on cockroaches for any nourishment. Although he is probably considered a high profile prisoner to LE in Peru, so it will be interesting to follow the proceedings and if sentencing moves fluidly.

    24. katablog.com on June 5th, 2010 8:20 am

The sociopath is denying the murder of Stephany. Like we thought he’d admit it and tell the truth. Since when has Joran ever taken responsibility for anything he ever did?

His room. He’s seen walking into the room with Stephany. 3 hours later he leaves, tells the hotel no one should go in the room, heads for the border. Sure he’s innocent – NOT.

    25. Susan on June 5th, 2010 8:26 am

On Fox News late night, it was said the $15,000 extortion money is what Urine van der Slut used to travel to Peru to attend the poker tournament in Lima. The panel (O’Really Factor) was trying to blame the FBI for Stephany’s death because they did not arrest Urine prior to his departure to Peru. Now how insane is that??? Like the FBI knew where the cold blooded murderer was or where his next stop would be in his worldly travels. If justice had been served in Aruba five years ago, Stephany would still be alive today!! Yes, every Aruban on that filthy, poverty stricken, drug infested, lawless third world Dutch protectorate is responsible for the death’s of Natalee and Stephany!!

BOYCOTT ARUBA AND THE NETHERLANDS TIL HELL FREEZES OVER!!

JUSTICE FOR NATALEE AND STEPHANY :-)

    26. Susan on June 5th, 2010 8:28 am

I meant to say “last” night, not late night. I should never attempt to comment/type until I’m completely awake…lol.

    27. Susan on June 5th, 2010 8:54 am

#4 – kittie, Why would you feel sorry for the mother of a cold blooded murderer, especially Urine van der Slut? How would you feel if it was your daughter murdered in cold blood by this evil monster???

Anita and Paulass van der Slut ENABLED their evil offspring in many, many ways, including allowing him to “rule the roost” (they were terrified of him), giving him a $50,000 casino allowance (he was underage at the time Natalee disappeared), etc.. Anita and Paulass also aided and abetted Urine in the Natalee Holloway case, as well as OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE. Need I say more?

    28. kiltie on June 5th, 2010 9:39 am

I’ve followed this case from the beginning and felt ever increasing sorrow for Natalee and her family. And cringed, too, at the unfeeling and flippant remarks from the Van der Sloot parents and Joran. I think initially Anita firmly believed Joran was innocent. Over several years, I think she finally discovered the truth and I came to feel Anita was a tortured woman, and is living in a self imposed prison for life within her mind…and with Paulus now dead, it is solitary confinement. Every mother would when the inevitable truth sunk in about raising a demon child. There was a still photo in the news once of Anita working in her garden, some years after Natalee’s disappearance, and her tear begritten face told the story that words never could. I started to feel differently about her. The fact she remained in Aruba made me wonder if she remained there because it was the one place on earth where Joran was declared persona non grata and she was safe from him. Maybe now Joran is incarcerated (after the horrifying death of another young woman), she can move away and find some anonymity for herself. Perhaps, now widowed, financially (who would ever buy her house???) she will have to stay put. Either way, she and her two boys are the wreckage that Joran left behind when he murdered Natalee.

    29. Lisa in Maryland on June 5th, 2010 10:41 am

Kiltie, I too have often felt sorrow for Anita. No woman brings a child into this world wanting their child to grow up and become a murderer but she looked the other way while Paulus taught him the evil lessons of his youth – corruption, disrespect, false sense of priviledge I could go on and on…

Anita taught Joran Denial that denial allowed him contenuity of mind rather than acts of conscience & responsibility.

She has her own debt to pay for that.

So many lives & families have suffered his wreckage. How different the world would be if she had taken Joran to couseling for help or just stood up to Paulus even if it meant ending their marriage.

      It’s Sad.

    30. Rhonda on June 5th, 2010 11:10 am

I do not feel one bit sorry for Anita, this is the monster she created, with her permissiveness and indulging and demanding to remain totally clueless about the kind of psycho she raised. She in fact makes me angry because we can look to the parents to find exactly what is wrong with Joran. The way the parents acted when Joran threw the wine in the reporters face, as if they never noticed just made my boil. I am convinced that had Joran had other parents, ones that took their job seriously there wouldn’t be at least (and who knows how much more) young women dead.

    33. kiltie on June 5th, 2010 11:56 am

Well put, Lisa. Better than I put it. I have no doubts that Joran is mentally deranged. He will end his days in that Peruvian prison. I’ve been reading up on Peruvian prisons…they are the 2nd worst prisons in the world, over 40% of inmates contract TB, meals are inadequate, 2 to a cell with the only lighting coming from the outside hallways, and toilet facilies are a hole in the floor. One American inmate went from 190 lbs. to 140 lbs in the 3 months he was confined. Although I have heard Peru does not have capital punishment, Joran will never survive to complete his sentence, and the two deaths he is responsible for will be avenged.

    34. Maggie on June 5th, 2010 11:56 am

I thought Greta has been kind of guarded about Aruba..since her last trip she took there with Beth. Wasn’t she threatened with a law suit for ruining tourism at that time for bashing Aruba?

Blast from the Past.. This is from the Vanity Fair article that was mostly for Aruba to bash Natalee and her family placing blame on the victims. This is just a small sample of the sick, twisted people that the Holloways/Twittys endured from Aruba. Just a bunch of made up lies.

“They’re killing Aruba,” says Aruban businessman Charles Croes, a former ally. “That girl, Natalee, I wish she’d stayed home. I hope she’s found alive there. Because no one would care. No one. The kid is just not worth all this trouble, this heartache. Is Natalee worth it? Is she?”

“So I snuck out of my house and went over to see her,” he said. “She came on to me huge. Dancing suggestively. Like a slut. I did belly shots on her, on the bar. [Eventually she said,] ‘Could you take me home?’ So we left.” When they piled into Deepak Kalpoe’s silver Nissan, Joran said, Natalee seemed nonplussed to find the two Kalpoe brothers, who are black, sitting in the front.

“What are these guys, your slaves?” she supposedly asked Joran. By all accounts, Natalee was very drunk.

“We met Beth that first day, and Beth was like glue to us for about a month,” Munzenhofer says. “But then we just had to let her go, because I did not agree with what she was saying. She was lying. She got caught in too many lies. I understand it. She’s a grieving mother. I’m not against Beth. But, come on, her girl’s not a virgin. The girl’s an alcoholic. She was drinking.… I have personally talked to people who say Natalee bought drugs. I’ve seen the photo of that girl chugging from a bottle of 151 [rum].… Beth, I told her, you have to look at different answers. Drug dealers. Taxi drivers. Ex-boyfriends. But she looked at one place only: Joran.”

“This group of students was a very—I don’t want to demonize them—but the group really went far, very far, in terms of having a good time,” Dompig says.

“We have taken two statements, from Julia Renfro and a Holiday Inn worker, that Beth told them she had gotten a call from her daughter, and that she was in love with a tall, blue-eyed Dutch teenager. So [Beth] had contact with her daughter. But she denies it.

Considering Natalee walked out of Carlos n Charlies on her own, was talking to her friends, I don’t believe she died of an alcohol overdose. For a person to be that intoxicated..their speech is slurred, they need assistance walking..they are incoherent.. The problem with the Kalpoes and Sloot story always was..they got her very drunk when it suited their stories and not so drunk when it suited their stories.

      One word for Joran…Apocalypto…

    37. ann on June 5th, 2010 1:03 pm

      Joran van der Sloot

Questions; date rape drug wrappers found in her car – odd! Joran opened them and gave them to her, which she took willingly? He put them in a drink she had in her own car overnight while she was in the Casino??? No sexual assault – then why a date rape drug?

Car and now father says he saw them on video walking to hotel? Which is it?

Baseball bat says Nancy Grace. But Grace is just sensational and never has anything correct in her ‘bombshell’ reporting, so is it a baseball bat, a tennis racket, or what?

And, with two suitcases, why would anyone leave the bat or the racket behind?

Why didn’t Joran (if he had the $5 thousand) get a flight out of Lima Sunday and be back in Aruba rather than (had to know) registering at borders?

South American countries are known for kidnapping, hence, this girl’s family’s first thought. So, why was she alone in a Casino all night — without family or body guards as is usual with people who have money?

Did she not have a cell phone? Odd, again, for a rich South American.

Nothing so far makes much sense in this case and lots of questions must be asked and answered to ascertain what did, in fact, happen.

Are hotel staff being paid for answers now — where were they Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, knowing two people entered a room, one exited and the other is not seen for three days?

Three hours or so – fully clothed. It took Joran three hours to beat this girl up, pack up his two suitcases, but not clean up the crime scene?

Please, help me with all this.

    38. ann on June 5th, 2010 1:17 pm

      One more question:

Father is reportedly 48, oldest son is 35 (who viewed the body)? The ages must be misprints or was he 13 or perhaps 12 when this elder son was conceived?

    39. katablog.com on June 5th, 2010 2:11 pm

I already said it in another post – but no, I don’t feel sorry for Anita. I did early on. I thought she was duped by both Paulus and Joran. But Anita was very more than in denial. Remember her telling Beth the color of Natalee’s panties? Can any mother be that much in denial?

Remember the horrible things Anita said about Beth and Natalee? After a couple of weeks there was just TOO much evidence for even a mother to overlook the culpability of her “delicious sporter”.

    40. ann on June 5th, 2010 3:24 pm

Why would anyone give a suspected killer money?

If this had been a FBI Sting, as is being reported, wouldn’t the FBI have had someone right there to arrest Joran van der Sloot upon his receipt of that money?

This is blood money no matter how you look at it – another girl is killed because Beth Holloway just didn’t get her way. She now looks like a piece of plastic trampling around the media circus, constantly looking for attention.

Natalee should never have been in Aruba. Where were the chaprones – non-existing. Why weren’t the other teenage girls ever allowed to say ANYTHING to anyone – ever?

Beth said (with Greta) that Natalee’s credit cards and her money were all right there in her wallet in her hotel room. Well, what and from where was Natalee supposed to get money on her visit that evening to Carlos N/Charlies? Was she to ‘get’ drinks off guys at the bar – which she obviously did?

God help her, she certainly didn’t deserve what happened to her.

But her mother is a disgrace and most of her outrage is from her own feelings of guilt in letting a seventeen year old go wild in a foreign country.

Boycott Aruba – why? Do you think the hard working people of Aruba had anything to do with this crime?

Right here in the US, we have many murders happen to tourists from different countries. Do you think each and every country should boycott the USA because one their country folk died at an American’s hands?

      Get real folks.

And, since when do we put the family of people who may or may not commit murder on trial as well?

Should we now passing the same sentence on all kinfolk of convicted criminals?

Perhaps we could simply send these mothers and fathers to space as they obviously committed a crime by bringing into the world a mentally disturbed child.

God have mercy on your souls and try to find in your hearts some kind of compassion for other people.

I will cut Mr. Flores some slack.. his 21 year old daughter was just beaten to death. Don’t know his age or his son’s age. Stephany was their only daughter. They have 3 kids.

Perhaps she was given a date rape drug and she tried to fight off her attacker and he flipped out and a robbery was staged after. Perhaps the drug was to subdue her, and robbery was the motive. Drugs can easily be slipped in her drink.

Who said it took 3 hours to beat her up? 3 hours is about what it took in Aruba only daddy was there to clean up for days and weeks. Could’ve gotten along awhile and things went bad.

There is video of them at the casino and another man who is Albanian sitting with him and Stephany. The casino owner is a friend of her family. He provided his passport picture and name and they looked him up on the internet. There is also a video of him and Stephany at the hotel. It was said, he told her at the casino let’s go out and celebrate your winnings and they left in her vehicle.

Her vehicle was found 50 blocks from the hotel. After a few days hotel people knocked on his room, heard the tv..room was not paid up, eventually they went in and found her beaten. He told them he would be back in a few hours, hang out a do not disturb sign and told them no maid service, don’t go in the room.

Perhaps he thought Natalee had lots of money on herself at the time. I remember him saying Natalee told them she was rich and had a plantation in Alabama with slaves. (BS) He seems to go after the ones he thinks have money. Her friends said he told them he was a 19 year old soccer player from Holland on vacation in Aruba.

Once again sounds like blame the victims time.

Seriously, does anyone here know a man friend that was the last one seen with a girl who is missing 5 years and also the last one seen with a girl found beaten to death in his hotel room? What is the likelihood?

    42. Maggie on June 5th, 2010 4:03 pm

get your facts straight. Natalee was 18 years old when she went to Aruba.. Joran was the underage 17 year old running wild in bars..and gambling underage..

      ___________________________

Tell it Maggie!~ This is the time Aruban’s & anyone supporting Aruba to be humble & remourseful that another young girl has been killed by one of their own. Instead we see folks like ann still bashing the mother of Jurine’s first victim Natalee’s mother & questioning the verasity of the Peruvian police’s rendition of the facts in Stephany’s brutal murder.

    44. ann on June 5th, 2010 7:03 pm

No, I am not bashing anyone. I am asking for answers to questions as there seems to be lots of misinformation out there, don’t you agree?

Drinking age in the States is 21. If Natalee were 18 and not 17 then she could drink legally in Aruba, but still could not in the States. As far as I know this is the first out of the country trip she ever took. Perhaps because they are able to drink in Mexico and the Carribean that is why it is a favorite for high school seniors when they want to party hard.

Do you think anyone, including media outlets, should be paying suspected murders money?

Did hear mention of a friend – again nothing clear on that either.

The car took them from the Casino to the hotel – but they walked according to the father from his viewing of a video? So did they ride in her car where the father found wrappers of the date rape drug, or did they walk, and, perhaps, the date rape wrappers got into her car at some other time?

Was it a bat, or a tennis racket? Or either?

It is said van der Sloot paid for fourteen days in advance. It is said he declared he would be back in a couple of hours. Which is it?

And, under any and all circumstances, why does a room go unnoticed for three days in a small hostel.

If it weren’t paid for in advance and the staff were only told not to go in – then they should have gone in.

The tv was playing for three days – night and day and no one paid any attention to it until that Wednesday?

I think her family found the hotel and that is how and why they finally looked in that room.

Why is a girl alone in a Casino all night in a South American country when kidnapping is very, very common? Shouldn’t she have been phoning someone as to her whereabouts?

And at 5:45 a.m., when a nice girl lives in the same city, then why would she go to the room of someone she doesn’t know, go into a little hostel room with him?

Beth Holloway is now telling teenagers it is important that they plan how they are going home from a night out drinking – think about that as much as what they are wearing, etc. Is this news to her? Why would anyone not think that way in the first place? Where was this woman brought up and how in the world did she bring up her child, Natalee.

The son was totally neglected when she embedded herself in Aruba after seeing she could make a career out of this tragic event. Finally, the second or third husband, whatever, left her there and started to dedicate his life to his son who was an early teen.

What I find wrong is that suddenly, all people take firm sides, someone is absolutely right and someone is absoutely wrong. It is never the case.
There is neglect on the part of Beth Holloway as much as there is neglect on the part of these sorrowful parents in Peru.

We cannot rid our world of van der Sloots, Bundy, Petersons, but we can make our children aware of the dangers that do exist when we throw caution to the wind. That we owe our children.

    45. ann on June 5th, 2010 7:23 pm

Again, the ME stated there was no broken neck.

The LE reported there was no weapon or weapons found in the room so the broken neck was done by his bare hands.

So, which is it? Did she have a broken neck or not? Was there a weapon, such as a bat or tennis racket, in the room, or not?

Confusing and because of that, I hope this all doesn’t go the same way as Aruba’s court case went.

They need to get the facts and stick to them without making any additional comments which cannot be substantiated.

I have 3 sons and 1 daughter, all grown. I hope I never have to know what it’s like to walk in the Twitty/Holloway’s or Flore’s shoes. When my daughter left for Florida to attend college, I hated it..I was always worried if I told her all the right stuff to keep her safe. However, when I called her, it was nice to always hear her voice at the other end and know she was safe. When she graduated and started teaching,, and I was aware of Natalee’s story and Jennifer Kesse.. I told her to make sure she was always aware of her surroundings. Never to be out alone..She had 2 female roomates in a big house they rented. Work wasn’t even a block away. Still you worry.. I also know NO matter how much you prepare, these freaks always know how to con, manipulate and stalk young women. My daughter now lives in Missouri, got married and is teaching second grade.

I can’t imagine receiving the call Natalee, Jennifer or Stephany’s family did. I never want to outlive my children.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers to all of these people’s families..

      Maggie,

You sound like a great mom. Obviously you have given your children the right message, not only in words, but also in actions.

You are right that young ladies are targeted even in the every day things they are involved with.

However, when you add underage and out of control drinking and behavior, and add into that a different country, then the chances for something terrible happening has increased ten-fold.

No one in this country or in any other country is going to take care of your children. That is the parents’ own responsibility.

You have taught your children well. Perhaps you should be out on the speech circuit, charging thousands of dollars for talks on the subject as Beth Holloway is doing. What you have to say might well be more timely and valuable.

How many young women, young mothers, that are missing in this country today, at this moment, whose bodies are not yet found – children that need them, families heartbroken. Yet, nothing is ever said about them.

They are the poor. The ones without voices, or the ones with voices that are heard.

Why? These people don’t have connections, don’t have private planes to fly off to places like Aruba to check see what happened to their child who was allowed to go without chaprones, to simply party, party, party.

NBC, ABC, and all the rest are not writing them checks for hundreds of thousands to appear on their programs. No, they are the forgotten ones, the ones whose loved ones don’t matter to the world because they are simple, ordinary people, but who are missing. Gone forever. They are forced to suffer alone without daily headlines.

God bless these people and may America some day wake up to the needs of all its people, not just the rich and powerful.
      ___________
SM: Just because TV does not cover cases does not mean that LE and searches are not done for the missing.

Once again, nice agenda. Your reasoning is search for no one. I have been a apart of searches in poor areas where moer people came out to help than in more upscale areas.

Should TV cover more, of course they should but do not discourage the one’s they do cover. As a matter of fact, the Natalee Holloway probably caused the MSM to cover more missing person cases than ever before.

    51. ann on June 5th, 2010 9:10 pm

As an American citizen the legal age for drinking is twenty-one. If you are drinking while under twenty-one – then you are – right, underage drinking. Don’t matter where it’s done – if your doing it and not allowed to do it in your own country – then it is underage drinking.

Which is why they were there, and please don’t tell me their parents didn’t realize this?

Allowing and paying for these innocent little girls to go off to the Caribbean without chaprones – all on their own – seems awfully neglectful and reckless to me!
      ___________
SM: Sorry toots … you are of drinking age depending on what the laws are of the country you are in, DUH!

Do you thinking the speeding limit is the same in Aruba as in the US too?

Oh wait, maybe the rules of evidence and police procedures are the same. We all know that is not true.

Could you please tell me what you are smoking?

You follow the rules of where you are, not the country of origin, geez … I am guessing you have never been out of the country … just a guess.

    52. ann on June 5th, 2010 9:44 pm

We are talking about underage drinking. While in Aruba, legal. However, that fact you are missing is that it is illegal in the United States, therefore, anyone under the age of 21 should not have ever been drinking while in the United States.

So, these innocent girls were sent off to a place where their parents were very aware 18 year olds could drink to their heart content – and then, these same parents are surprised that something terrible happened to them?

If you don’t get this, then, may I ask what are you smoking?

It is like putting a bunch of chickens in a fox den.
      __________
      SM: You are an idiot.

Something bad happened only when Joran Van der Sloot was in the area. It was not the alcoholic that killed Natalee and Stephany, it was your delicious Sporter, Joran.

Gee Anna, at what age is one allowed to be slopped a date rape drug. Choke on that question a while.

    56. Shannon on June 6th, 2010 9:12 am

And Ann, Beth is an amazing and loving mother. I have never seen such love and devotion from a parent to locate a missing child. She wore her devastation on her face day after day, month after month. Now she has made the job of protecting other kids her life’s work.

I have nothing but respect and admiration for Beth. As a victim of child sex abuse, I know how important it is not to blame the abused child or the parents for missing the clues. Natalee went to Aruba with HS chaperones. Beth was assured they would be safe. Don’t blame her because her daughter accidentally crossed paths with a monster.

    57. ann on June 6th, 2010 9:27 am

      neverforgets,

We have been inundated with Natalee to the point of vomit for the past five years – there are many other young women, young man, children, older people, missing, and yet the news spins around this Holloway case. Why? Because they are rich and can afford to control the media.

I hope and pray the Holloway case does not take over from this poor girl’s dismise and her family’s sorrow in Peru.

Beth Holloway, or, whoever she is today, will be sure to get front and center and will walk over this truly mourning family for her own selfish ambitions.

Most of America is sick to death of these Holloway people, just as sick of them as we are of the Anthonys.

You are entitled to your opinion dear, and I am entitled to mine.

Yes, Joran is falling asleep. Also his left eye and beneath his eye and cheek look somewhat swollen. He was trembling being lead into toward the plane, whether that was from the cold, or, perhaps, injury, we will never know.

I would imagine ‘questioning’ in South America includes things the US never thought of in their 9/11 waterboarding incidents.

Of course, according to you, Natalee is more important than America, and America’s safety in the future – so any kind of torture is acceptable as this small group just want to know what happened to this ‘girl gone wild’ teenager in Aruba!

Why are you all not interested in whether or not young girls from Thailand were sold into sex slavery in The Netherlands? That, to me, seems to be a great problem as it would include an international ring and horrors for these poor little girls merely trying to find work to support themselves and their families.

The MSM is much more open to covering cases since NH went missing in 2005.

I wonder if any of the unsolved murders in Thailand might be attributed to him. I can’t believe he waited 5 years to kill again. It just seems like there was something in between.
There were quite a lot of unsolved murders in Thailand in 2008.
Also, it seems with his travels he is doing more than just poker (of which he is not even a pro) he has been exposed to some really seedy stuff…like perhaps drugs, he admitted to human trafficing. The Dutch are well known for their Porn. Could he perhaps need to pay off a huge gambling debt, for himself, his dead father? He appears to be an underworld figure in training….(they are all psychos) Could he be a hit for hire for something their fathers, stepfathers have done? Something just doesn’t add up.
By all accounts Natalee Holloway and Stephany Flores were both really smart young women, how did he manage to lure them? He’s not got that much going for him.
There is much more going on than meets the eye.

I should clariy…what I meant by father and stepfathers having done something, I mean it could be they rejected a deal with some creepy Aruban business person (I use the term loosely) and they exacted revenge. The criminal stuff going on in Aruba boggles the mind! We are talking an international criminals resort.

So sorry for the two families and their losses, but finally glad that the perosn responsible is now in custody.

On such a small island, why could they not find justice for Natalee. I hope that the tourist activity has been hurting big time and I guess they are ashamed to be honest to tell the truth.
