US Attorney Jim Letten Recused Himself in the James O’Keefe/Sen Landrieu Phone Tampering Case

A Crime or just Investigative Journalism, you make the call …

Andrew Breitbart on Fox News, James O’Keefe of the famed ACORN “Pimps & Prostitutes videos,  who is presently accused of trying to tamper with the phones of Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu, was “framed” by the media and the U.S. attorney’s office. Interestingly enough the top prosecutor, Jim Letten, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, has recused himself from the case.

The top federal prosecutor for New Orleans has removed himself from the case of four conservative activists arrested last week while allegedly trying to capture hidden camera footage in a senator’s office, the Department of Justice said Monday.

A Justice Department news release said Jim Letten, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, recused himself from the case a day after the Jan. 25 arrests in Democrat Sen. Mary Landrieu’s office in New Orleans. Letten’s top lieutenant, assistant U.S. Attorney Jan Mann, has taken over.

US Attorney Jim Letten gave no reason for him removing himself from the case.

However, as reported at Big Government.com, on the very day that film maker James O’Keefe sat in jail for 28 hours without counsel.

“James O’Keefe sat in jail for 28 hours without access to an attorney, while the U.S. attorney leaked the information about his arrest, helping the media frame it as ‘Watergate Junior,’” Breitbart said.

O’Keefe declined to talk about Breitbart’s allegations on Fox News Monday night, adding he was cooperating with the U.S. attorney’s office and he was pleased with the way the U.S. attorney was handling the case.

He said details of his arrest may be brought up at another time, but not now because it is an ongoing investigation.

Watch James O’Keefe’s exclusive interview with Sean Hannity VIDEO.

Why does it appear that this story is much different than initially reported in the media? I guess the other question would be, where was the MSM and their news  coverage when Jmaes O’Keefe and Hannah Giles were nailing ACORN with video proof that they were providing information to create a human trafficking service and prostitution of underage girls? Just curious.

This tells me that the whole case is “made up” so that future investigative reporters are reluctanc to investigate possible federal misconduct.
If indeed Mary Landreaux was not returning calls or had her phones turned off on purpose, then she needs to be charged with derliction of duty and removed from office.
We the people have had enough of politicians who forget how respond to those who elected them. In the future, we need to have in place in every state a simplified procedure to implement recall elections.
Yes, I live in Texas, but in the early part of my life I lived in Louisiana and I know from personal experience just how corrupt the government is in Louisiana.

The likely conclusion here is evidenced in the course of actions by the programmers of MSNBC! Evidently, they are in the hip pocket of the Obama MIBs! Nothing else explains the selective witch hunt against the conservative truthfinders! Yes, to be sure, where were they when ACORN was being busted? Further, can we really call Eric Holder a representative of the US courts? His chip is bigger than the Obama’s. It’s Holder who needs to step down!

“James O’Keefe sat in jail for 28 hours without access to an attorney. Sounds like someone rights were violated by a court officer. You notice Attorney General Eric Holder has not investigated “ACORN”.

“FBI gave airline bombing terrorist access to an attorney 27 hours faster than James O’Keefe.” “Hannity” FOXNEWS
