Stop the Global Warming Cap & Trade Nonsense … Dems Say to Barack Obama

STOP CAP & TRADE OR DEMS RISK AN EVEN GREATER SLAUGHTER IN 2010.

With the looming spectre of a 2010 Democrat massacre at the ballot box, so-called moderate Senate Democrats are begging Barack Obama and the White House to stop pushing such unpopular pieces of legislation like Cap & Trade.

After the Democrat partisan vote and passage of Obamacare through the Senate, many Dems fear that Cap & Trade will be yet another bill with no support from Republicans or the People. However, Obama does not seem to listen to “We the People,” will he listen to his own party Senators?

“I am communicating that in every way I know how,” says Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), one of at least half a dozen Democrats who’ve told the White House or their own leaders that it’s time to jettison the centerpiece of their party’s plan to curb global warming.

The creation of an economy-wide market for greenhouse gas emissions is as the heart of the climate bill that cleared the House earlier this year. But with the health care fight still raging and the economy still hurting, moderate Democrats have little appetite for another sweeping initiative — especially another one likely to pass with little or no Republican support.

“We need to deal with the phenomena of global warming, but I think it’s very difficult in the kind of economic circumstances we have right now,” said Indiana Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh, who called passage of any economy-wide cap and trade “unlikely.”?

Senate Democrats are skeptical and  know that the Cap & Trade will is a loser and will adversely affect them in the 2010 elections and beyond. Just what the country needs, a tax that will restrict the economy during an economic down turn.

However, Obama seems to be on a liberal suicide mission as he knows that the Democrats are going to get creamed in the 2010 midterms, so why not inflict as much liberal/socialist damage on the US while Donkeys have an overwhelming majority. Because after 2010, Barack Hussein Obama may just be without the House and the Senate.

Mary Landrieu, “Buy My Vote For $300 Million Mary Landrieu”. President Obama is on a power-ego trip. Perhaps you recall Michelle’s comment about some having to give up some of their pie so others could have more. They served lots of pie at the White House Thanksgiving Dinner. He’s got a big chunk of pie in Hawaii, where they’re spending Christmas. If he was in tune with the average joe, the middle class, the poor, the oppressed, he would have stimulated business instead of government and himself. He would not be looking to give illegals amensty and jobs while unemployment is so high. He would not push for cap&trade when the economy is still in the tank. He’d be putting money into investigating and eliminating Medicare waste and fraud, not cutting benefits to seniors. He’d put some stimulus into school programs that keep kids safe and in school and get them into college. He and his pie-loving wife have plenty of pie and we’re all getting it in the face. The economy will recover IN SPITE of Obama, not because of him. I believe there is enough strength in the American people to overcome and recover from what this man is doing. But his power-hungry, big pie ego will take credit for it. I have to wonder if the biggest power-ego trip of the millenium will end up like the fateful trip of the Titanic. Stay tuned.

I can hardly wait ’til the second Tuesday in November 2010, the Dems have sealed their fate we will slaughter them at the polls and wait until 2012. You will have to change your name officially to Dummycraps.

Yes, by all means STOP the Cap and Tax hoax.
The Healthcare Takeover Tax must be stopped
as well. Brainwashed religious fanatic terrorists
are stopped by killing them, but brainwashed
political zealots can be stopped by simply
voting them out of offices. It’s just that easy!

What is the definition of global temperature? If one postulates global warming one needs to know what global temperature is. I remember a couple years back when I became quite suspicious of Global warming when Al Gore wouldn’t shut his yap about it that I tried to ask this question on a different site and was referred to as a mass murderer for trying to define terms. I had hoped for a discussion of different temperature data sets, the understanding that these data sets are only a small sample of the Earth’s temperature at any one time, the limitations, precision and accuracy of the data, how the methodology for sampling temperature may have altered over years, decades, centuries.

Never got that far of course, but even saying one knows global temperature with any degree of accuracy needs to be demonstrated. From there can one determine with any confidence, given changes in methodology, past trends in temperature? From there can one make predictive models of temperature change (and have they been confirmed!!) especially on the scale of decades and centuries, as this seems to be the idea underlying much of “the sky is falling, the sky is falling … give us your money” political discourse of late. If one ever confirmed that future temperature trends were accurately being predicted, would one have any confidence that they understood the underlying causes and from there the necessary changes (ie the “give us your money” part). Funny that the solution proffered to a postulated future trend in global temperature is an attempt at man-made global cooling.

Finally, one should recognize when surrogates are being used in place of actual temperature readings, i.e. tree ring data might reflect not just temperature but for instance CO2 concentration, coral reefs, local predator populations, ice cover, ocean salinity and ice particulate content etc, etc.

I would think given the complexity of the climate the last thing anyone would want is some global treaty to attempt anthropogenic climate change.
