Its All about the Timing … Global Warming Conference Held in Buffalo, NY with -6 Degrees Temperatures

Talk about bad timing …

The “Global Warming” crowd may want to get a clue and a better sense of timing when it comes to holding events. Buffalo State College hosts the national teach in conference on Global Warming Situations on the very day that local temperature bottomed out at minus 6 degrees. It is kind of hard to get serious about global warming when one cannot feel their toes due to the cold. Also, would not it have been ironic for those attending the conference that it took more time to warm up their cars than to actually travel top the event?

No evidence of global warming here, at least not this morning, when unofficial reports to the National Weather Service listed temperatures as low as 9 degrees below zero elsewhere in Erie County.

“We didn’t have temperatures forecast to be quite that cold,” weather service meteorologist David Zaff said this morning. “When you have snowpack on the ground and clear skies, temperatures can plummet. It’s called radiational cooling.”

Don’t worry “global warming” crowd, Al Gore picks the coldest days of the year to speak as well … I guess you are just following your leader. Discussing global warming while getting frost bite going to the event, is it any wonder the support for global warming is waning?

I think since yesterday I have an acute depression.

In a newsshow yesterday it was said that the ice cap of the North Pole (which has strongly shrunk the last decades) will be disappeared in 2012!!!
At the same time the northern permafrost will thaw which will release H•U•G•E amounts of the greenhouse gasses carbon dioxide and methane gas (methane gas is a 20 times stronger greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide)!!!

Is that the end of all life on this planet???

2012!!! That is in three years!!!

Al Gore needs to BUG OFF

We have this pipsqueak of a self-assigned Paul Revere of
Global Climate Change flitting around piping his personal
position of manmade overheating of the planet. Algore’s
solution for this impending doom is for private enterprise
to pay more money to the government. China and India,
for example, are not as quick to solve this touted equation.
America can ante up enough taxes to cure the problem
itself. Currently US citizens are severely concerned about
the heat, smoke, and flames created by Nancy’s and
Barry’s wildly urgent burning of trillions of our taxpayer

Will somebody please pull the alarm?

Why do you hate the military ? Why are you always mocking their attempts to protect us from the dangers of global climate change.

We had -19 here is Colorado the second week of December. It broke a hundred year record!!!! Now that is global warmng Al Gore….lol

I thought the new name was global change, that way Al is always right. What a joke.

This dumb bastard Gore needs to spend a winter in central Illinois. Then the con artist son-of-a-bitch can tell me all about his global bullshit.

with Global Warming anomalies will still occur.

i know you guys hate Al Gore.
but he didn’t ‘invent’ Global Warming.

there is broad consensus in the scientific community about it.

only some columnists and bloggers disagree.

but i am not surprised at SM you won’t see a blog about the heatwave in Australia.
      temperatures up to 119 F.
hottest temperatures since records began in many places.

93 deaths already due to bushfires.
      worst bushfires in Australia’s history.

    9. scott on February 9th, 2009 8:04 am

caesu – you are a LIAR. There is no broad scientific consensus. In fact, at a Global Warming conference recently, HUNDERDS of scientists signed a petition against Global Warming.

For all the scientists you say agree, there are the same number that disagree and it’s a FACT!

Again, you do not know your facts…ARSON was the cause of the fires in Australia.

Just like a liberal to use some off-base event to TRY and prove a point…never works!

You must work for some “green” company. I hope you are “patriotic” and hand your money over to those who do not pay income taxes and donate to the hoax called global warming!

    10. caesu on February 9th, 2009 9:38 am

scott – really? what conference was that?
some science denying – big oil conference?

it’s sad that you cling to misinformation and can’t accept FACTS.

Although there have been some individual scientists who have made statements opposing the mainstream scientific assessment of global warming, with the release of the revised statement by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists in 2007, no remaining scientific body of national or international standing is known to reject the basic findings of human influence on recent climate changes.

and yes, some of the fires in Australia were ignited by arsonists.

but does that explain for you the heatwave and the drought??

death toll stands now at 171.
expected to rise well above 200.

“… The Arctic is projected to be free of sea ice as early as 2013 … This ice loss is linked to loss of permafrost and clathrates, which contain large quantities of methane. Many scientists believe this will cause a catastrophic Arctic methane release, potentially leading to runaway climate change. This rapid climate feedback process may be unstoppable unless…”

And what will happen then to the Gulf Stream? Will it stop totally?

    12. MANTIS on February 9th, 2009 3:50 pm

Global Warming is the wrong word for whats happening with the world’s weather. It should be changed to Global Weather Disorder because the holes in the atmosphere will let heat in during the summer and cold in during winter. That is my theory on Global Warming.

    13. Bodydetoxguy on October 2nd, 2009 4:17 am

the effect of Global Warming these days is even worst. i think every government should pass stricter laws on Carbon Emissions. we should also concentrate more on renewable energy sources and avoid fossil fuels.
SM: No, we should actually develop and energy policy that includes nuclear, clean coal and renewable energy. Not be held hostage to the carbon emission Nazis. You do realize you exhale CO2, right?
