Here is something that police did not expect and talk about your ghoulish and heinous crimes. They go to arrest a convicted sex offender for rape and discover their suspect is a serial killer.
On Thursday, Cleveland, OH police went to the home of convicted sex offender Anthony Sowell to arrest him on charges of felonious assault and rape. However, upon entering the home police found three bodies and expect to confirm three more. Police found two badly decomposed bodies on the third floor of his home on Thursday and a third was discovered Friday afternoon in the basement’s dirt floor. The possible remains of three more people were found in Sowell’s house and backyard. Sowell had lived in the home since 2005.
Convicted Sex Offender: Anthony E. Sowell
Police say Sowell spent 15 years in prison for a 1989 rape. As we always say, there is no such thing as a one time rapist and they cannot be rehabilitated.
In 1989, Sowell lived on Page Avenue in East Cleveland. That’s where he lured a 21-year-old woman into his bedroom, choked her and repeatedly raped her, prosecutors said. That led to his prison sentence from 1990 until 2005.
This case once again brings up the question as to why we let serial rapist out of prison? Why are they not at least forever on probation? Since Sowell was no longer on probation, police needed a search warrant to get in.
Once released, Sowell had to register as a sex offender. He was required to report to the sheriff’s office once a year until 2008, when a change in the law caused him to report every 90 days.
He last checked in on Sept. 2. On Sept. 22, deputies did a spot check on him to verify he lived on Imperial. Sowell answered the door, but deputies did not enter the home. Since Sowell was no longer on probation, they needed a search warrant to get in.
Maybe the discovery of these 6 bodies can put some family’s pain to some rest in the case of any missing persons cases?

Missing 43 year old Cleveland mom Nancy Cobbs left her home on April 24, 2009 and was never seen again. Family and friends of Nancy Cobbs feared one of them might be Cobbs. She lived only one street away from Sowell.
UPDATE I: Sex Offender and Suspected Murderer has been Arrested by Police
50 year old convicted sex offender and suspected killer was arrested on Saturday by police in Cleveland just after noon as he walked down the street.
Anthony Sowell, 50, was caught walking down a Cleveland street just after noon, capping a massive manhunt for him in the area.
Sowell, who identified himself as the suspect after police approached him, is wanted on felony rape and assault charges. There was no word yet on whether he will be charged with murder, and no charges have yet been filed.
A tipster told officers of his whereabouts and a zone car found him and arrested him without incident.”
Breaking news on the massive search for convicted rapist Anthony Sowell. Cleveland Police tell Fox 8 News, Sowell was arrested at East 97 and Mt. Auburn just before 12 pm Saturday.
A citizen went to the Fourth District Police Headquarters Saturday morning and reported seeing Sowell walking down the street.
After officers confronted Sowell, he identified himself as the suspect.

I thought if you are a registered sex offender that the police don’t need a search warrant to go in. As in the Dugger case.

Our criminal justice system is once again NOT doing its job. There should NEVER be any parole for a sex offender. They need to serve their entire sentence.
Our state legislatures need to work on passage of law that limits the courts and removes the possibility of parole for these animals.
They should no longer be considered a part of the human race. If it was my choice, when convicted on good evidence, each and every one of them would be immediately put to sleep. Why spend good money warehousing them in a prison.
I just heard this story on the news tonight and had to do a search on it. TEXAS GRANDFATHER I agree with you 100%!!! I always say that too! With proper evidence and/or full confession why are we even wasting money keeping them there! I don’t understand death row either, if they also have no doubt as in sufficient substantial evidence and/or full confession and are sentenced to death row, why is it that they live decades there! They are sentenced to die, so get the chair, chamber or IV’s ready and get rid of them all!
Actually, I really think they should each die the way their victim’s died! Run them down, light them on fire, cut off their you know what’s, beat the crap out of ‘em, drown them, cut them up, whatever! Maybe even let the prisoners that have done those crimes kill each other the same way.
I don’t know, all I know is they shouldn’t be let back out EVER, no matter how they’ve supposedly changed their lives around in prison. I don’t buy it for one second. Once a rapist, always a rapist. Once a child molester, always a child molester, etc.!!!
Texas Grandfather, I agree with you 100%!!! They should NEVER be let out and their entire sentence should be DEATH! Not even death row or life in prison! Not good enough! They should be killed the way their victim’s were and have their you know what’s cut off FIRST!
I don’t know why they ever get out for “good behavior” or they’ve shown positive change in their lives. BS! It’s all a flippin’ show and these stupid parole board members buy it and then there goes someone else getting murdered or raped within sometimes MINUTES of them being let out!
I don’t believe in Death Row, if there is sufficient substantial evidence get rid of them ASAP! Not 10, 20 years or more down the road! Why pay for them to live? And this whole thing they’ve now come up with that they’re “too fat to die” is absolutely ridiculous! They are going to die anyway! What difference does it make if one way doesn’t work, try another way! Kill ‘em all!!!

after reading this it made me ill not only because of what he did but how kept being released. i know what it is like to be a survivor and they get away with it and the people who are to protect you think you are the person who did something wrong. so if someone gets put in jail for a crime like this they should never be released and loose all their rights.
when my son was 21 years old, he was caught with a small amount of cocain in his car, now he is 32 and a family man, but the state of virginia still has him on probation.
by the way, my son owns his own business and recently employed a guy that served 5 years in prison and he is already off probation.

I don’t even live in the states and this is rediculous. First of all it has gone too far. From the first time the neighbors smelt a scent and had some idea that their was a nut in the area the popo should have been allowed to handle the matter with or the hell with the warrant. If he’s not mental, kill he for he killed others. If he is put him in a cell to make rat poision for a lifetime.
