What a Joke, Barack Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize Before Actually Accomplishing Anything

So now we are giving Peace Prizes for Hope? How about one actually does something beforeObama_Hype they win something? Not when it comes to the Obamamessiah. Beam me up Scottie.

What an absolute joke. President Barack Obama has wins the Nobel Peace Prize for giving the world “hope for a better future” and striving for nuclear disarmament. The Nobel Peace Prize committee, if they had not already done so with previous choices like Yasser Arafat and Jimmy Carter, has all but discredited the award. It now means nothing. Who knew that accomplishing nothing, absolutely nothing gained one the Nobel Peace Prize.

U.S. President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for giving the world “hope for a better future” and striving for nuclear disarmament, in a surprise award that drew criticism as well as praise.

The decision to bestow one of the world’s top accolades on a president less than nine months into his first term, who has yet to score a major foreign policy success, provoked gasps of surprise from journalists at the announcement in Oslo.

You win awards for accomplishments, NOT HOPE!!!

Simply stunning.  I hope Barack’s humility will allow him to win such a well deserved award. Flopping Aces might have stated it the best … “No, this is not a joke. Sadly, this is not a piece from the Onion.”

It gets even better for those who think that those on the right just have sour grapes because Obama won. Maybe some one can explain how in the hell a sitting president who had only been in office less than two weeks before the Nobel Peace Prize deadlines won? Hmm?

The stunning choice made Obama the third sitting U.S. president to win the Nobel Peace Prize and shocked Nobel observers because Obama took office less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline. Obama’s name had been mentioned in speculation before the award but many Nobel watchers believed it was too early to award

Carter_arafat

H/T: Stop the ACLU – Obama joins Carter and Arafat as Nobel winner

Town Hall asks the same question, Isn’t this, at least, a bit premature? I mean, shouldn’t you at least do something before winning such a prestigious award? Barack Obama has been in office less than one year and has done what exactly?

Barack Obama was given this award instead of actual individuals who might have actually deserved it. Is this supposed to be a consolation prize for losing the Olympics? One might ask, who were the nominees? I was disgusted when I saw that The One was nominated, but it is downright embarassing to see that The One, won.

Speculation had focused on Zimbabwe’s Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, a Colombian senator and a Chinese dissident, along with an Afghan woman’s rights activist.

It is being reported that the Norwegian Nobel Committee praised Obama for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” Really? You mean for his apology tour to Europe and the Muslim world? You mean for meeting with the likes of Venezuelan tyrant and dictator Hugo Chavez and ducking the Dali Lama to appease China?

Let me read this again correctly, “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” Barack Obama cannot even bring his own people together.

His striving for nuclear disarmament? I am sure Iran is laughing at the comment this morning as they The One wants to make the US weaker, Iran now has the capability of making a nuclear weapon.

UPDATE I: Wizbang … In what has to be one of the most dramatic examples of the global elitist genuflection and obsequiousness before the presence of The One.

wouldn’t say a joke, but it was a surprise.

It will be fun …to watch “conservatives” retreat further into their isolationist shell. It’s their only option! The public is wrong, the world is wrong, it’s an ACORN plot, haha heehee….

SM: Its not just the Right that is complaining. This has many scratching their heads.

There are people who actually did something and deserved winning. Could Obama maybe do something one day to deserve the award, maybe? But he should never have received it.

Oh, BTW deadline for nominations is Feb 1.

In other news NFL first round draft pick for the Detroit Lions was just elected to the Hall of Fame in Canton, OH.

Also, last years NBA rookie of the year Derrick Rose was also nominated and elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame. I wonder if it was because he plays for Chicago?

What a joke. All hail Obama the Magnificent.

Is he up for an Oscar as well this year for his best roll in imitating a Prescient?

So Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize and all Republicans can do is become enraged!

      Why do Republicans hate America?
      __________
SM: Jason, you might have done more to deserve the award.

In Feb 2009, let alone now. What has Barry O done? I guess they could not have given him the prize for economics seeing that he has destroyed our economy.

of course the dolt wouldn’t think it’s a joke…WTF has he done? Gitmo still open, troops STILL in Iraq, going to have to commit more troops in Afghanistan…

He has deepened the divide in America between the majority which is CENTER-RIGHT and the pigs on the left like Al (who still has not posted one thing worth donkey d**k!).

The public as a MAJORITY, maybe you should do some research does not want Obamacare, Cap and Trade, his SPENDULUS NOR his second stimulus which is coming, which I said was coming MONTHS ago.

Who cares about the rest of the world…F them. They don’t vote in our elections, well neither does Al, who comes on here and run his mouth, YET he is too COWARDLY to vote. That’s right, you are what they call a BLOWHARD, COWARD, PUNK, whatever fits. It’s comical how people who do not participate in the electoral process run their mouths….YOU HAVE NO SAY!

Al, you are the one stuck in your little liberal world, you have not been paying attention, conservatism is on the RISE…the polls prove it, Independents who voted for this moron, are now moving back…this is a FACT that can not be disputed, although Al you wouldn’t know anything about FACTS or logic, you are pig liberal!

    8. Scared Monkeys on October 9th, 2009 8:20 am

This might just be a blessing in disguise.

Obama knows he does not deserve this award. It will be looked upon by many as wrong. Except is you are the Kool-aide drinking LEFT.

Sorry Jason, I would have been against GWB winning it year one, even with 9-11.

This just shows so many hard working people who have busted their butts for raises and promotions that Obama is an elitist who gets honors without deserving them.

I think all of you know the type in your jobs and you resent them. They are the “yes” people and the kiss asses. They are the frauds while others do the work and do not get credit.

I wonder how the other nominees feel who actually did something?

How come the LEFT isn’t upset that deserving folks got hosed?

Obama can only exist when others carry his water. He is not a leader, he is a talker.

The winning of the Nobel Prize is just a metaphor for his presidency. Hype with no substance.

They give the Peace Prize to that man that blows off the Dali Lama because he needs to appease the Chinese … you know those humanitarian Chinese who are for human rights and have no thoughts of world domination.

We are going to wake up in three years and it will hopefully be like an episode of Dallas ,,, will it have been a dream, or nightmare.

to American righties who don’t understand why this happened:

It’s because the rest of the world is very, very happy that America elected Obama and not McCain. That it rejected lawless invasions, torture, secrecy and deception. And that it is once again willing to be a member of the civilized community of nations. Sure, it has such a long way to go, but the mere fact that Obama is in the White House gives us more hope for global peace than McCain would have ever delivered.

So understand this, righties, this award – as much as anything – acknowledges how happy the rest of the world is that your barbaric ideology has been rejected.

Look for him to be the First Wimp from now on. No more troops in Afghanistan. No military action to stop Amadinejad from setting up a drive thru discount nuke store for all the terrorists who want to incinerate us and then hold up their hands laughing and say “It wasn’t us.” From here on, if Desmond Tutu wouldn’t do it, Barry won’t either. What a joke. Our best hope is that his head will explode.

Actually, it confers great honor on the recipient, and on us as a nation. Cheer when America loses, curse when we win. The right wing is showing us exactly who they are.

    17. flutter1 on October 9th, 2009 9:06 am

Just as the Nobel Foundation was brought about by the premature notice of Alfred Nobel’s death, the proclamation of Obama as a recipient of the Peace Prize is also a bit premature.

Nobel’s death was inevitable; Obama’s ability to bring peace and kumbaya to the world is a remotely minute possibility. But again his whole ascension is based on holograms and teleprompters, so appearance is everything and substance is irrelevant. And considering the previous American winners, with the exception of TR, Obama will be quite comfortable in that cadre of impotence and poppycock.

    18. NewGirlBoston on October 9th, 2009 9:11 am

Being CENTER & partial RIGHT myself, really surprised at this nomination. It’s fraudulent!

Has there ever been a US President in history to have won the Nobel? If you actually look up the definition of the Nobel Peace Prize and what one must accomplish for it to be awarded, suffice to say- even Barry himself may realize (that while it’s an honor to be considered) this is something he hasn’t truly earned.

Thanks, MSM, for the smoke screen & your part in coining our President as the OBAMASSIAH & “The Chosen One” Guess it pays off to keep spinning that bogus PR Machine that is everything Obama. When I saw the Obama memorabilia and collectibles in a Cape Cod gift shop right next to the JFK items, I knew we were in trouble even way back then.

      Gag!

A hypocritical body of political left-wingers who care more about the advancement of Humanist philosophy than for actual “PEACE”.

People the fix is in…One World Government is coming to the neighborhood near you. His eye was on the prize and he got it thanks to a corrupt organization of the Nobel Committee. This will give the legitimary to the man with the thin resume and no background as a humanitarian…Peace at any price. The apology tour; the trashing of our country; the complete disregard for conservative fiscal policies; and of course indecisiveness on the Afghanistan War. Chamberlain of Britain tried it with Hitler and look how that turned out. What a sham! How embarrassing that he accepted it for accomplishing absolutely nothing.

Has he accomplished any of this? Just because he says he dreams of a nuclear free world doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. If they are going to give that award away for that far fetched dream they should have given to every school child during the cold war.

      Attn: Al, Jason, Dolf

As for early risers Al, Jason, and Dolf, yes, to your opinion. I’m an independent who made a huge mistake voting for the unvetted Obama. As such, please educate me on the topic of Obama’s accomplishments. Please don’t attack the opinions of others with insults of “your meds”, “calm down,” or condescending rhetoric.

Please state Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize qualifications. Mocking the moderator is not addressing the issue. I look forward to hearing from you three. I may be missing something.

My take: “A Call To Action?”…why is anyone surprised? Isn’t this more of the same surrounding Obama, once again taking the Nobel and denying a true recipient? Obama has to his record: Ayers writes his books (known fact, now); Pelosi plagiarizes copy making him the Democratic Nominee, (denying the first real black American to be the President;) Obama received over $60Million from the unions and buys an auto industry as prez; bails out banks and forgets mainstream American unemployment; Obama defends a black colleague against stupidity (his word) but is mum on a black honor student murdered by other blacks, on his way home from school; does not notice Americans in his ‘front yard’ (tea parties); Acorn who? lol. BUT, let us not forget the front and center ObamaCare! Oh, yeah, and not one of the “three heads here – Al and Company Monitors – can deny this one is the biggee! The Monster One is MSM gives him a pass on everything–! That keeps most Americans in the dark, well, except for the trolling monitors on blogs like Scared Monkeys telling it like it is!!

Ok, so we are LOVED again! Excuse me, my bad.. they are almost “loving” the USA again…but the mob in his hometown did not get the Olympics; that one the brazilian Mr. S decided he wanted for his home country. Mr. S knew the Consolation Prize was coming, The Coveted Nobel!

I doubt if people like myself can be convinced by the Nobel Peace Prize. I have experienced first hand the true changes of the Obama Identity. After all, I live here in the USA; the Global Community and their sentiments will cry wolf, when the next global bully incident needs a referee. Payback is always Hell!

So you early risers, Al, Jason and aDolf, please let me hear that you can do more than “ad hominen.”

    42. Renee on October 9th, 2009 5:52 pm

Republicans cheered when America failed to land the Olympics and now they are criticizing the president of the United States for receiving the Nobel Peace prize – an award he did not seek but that is nonetheless an honor in which every American can take great pride — unless of course you are the Republican Party

    43. Marsan on October 9th, 2009 6:11 pm

Observation: Al’s Monitoring Company has a few more names commenting.

Serious question to Al and Company, most entitled to their opinion, of course: Would the honorable trolls here (oxymoron!) react the same way if tomorrow we heard: Nobel Prize Winner Sarah Palin favored for Going Rogue? (You know, like Obama, she hasn’t achieved much either, well except for holding a higher position than Community Organizer and actually “writing” her own book.)

Think about it, Obama says it’s about “momentum,” so he’s keeping it! lol

    44. Greg on October 9th, 2009 7:00 pm

Why didn’t Reagan get the prize? He liberated millions in Europe with the fall of the Wall. Even GW Bush liberated millions of Iraqis!

I agree, Red. They are simply trying to influence US foreign policy. Rush is right on this one. There will be no troop surge in Afghanistan. I understand Barry wants to deploy more drones, even though the death toll of innocent civilians killed by them is skyrocketing. After some terrorists set off a nuke over here, maybe the Europeans will think it is OK for us to oppose them. Then it will be fashionable.

#32- Ceasu—-No one is “enraged”. Dumbfounded may be more like it. Aren’t you once again exagerating just a little bit? If it wasn’t so ridiculous it would actually be funny.

For all those who admire the fact ZeroBama received this prize, take heart! Castro agrees with you!
