Barack Obama Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize … For What?

What a shock, Barack “The Chosen One” Obama has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. Now if only some one could tell me what the hell the Obamamessiah has done to warrant a nomination for a Nobel Peace prize. Some one? Anyone?

Obama_AlGore

Al Gore getting Nobel Peace Prize Tips from Al Gore … tell ‘em change has to do with global warming, it worked for me.

A record 205 candidates are in the running for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, the Nobel Institute said on Friday, with US President Barak Obama and France’s Nicolas Sarkozy known to be on the list.

“We have received the names of 205 candidates, including 33 organisations,” Geir Lundestad, the head of the Nobel Institute, said.

Who knew there was a Nobel Peace prize for doing absolutely nothing? That is unless it was being President of the US and seeing the stock market fall nearly below 7000 and unprecedented spending.

“They have yet to do anything very remarkable on issues regarding war and peace,” said Gunnar Soerboe, who heads up the Christian Michelsen Institute, which specialises in peace and development research.

It appears that The Gateway Pundit has some ideas as to what Obama was nominated for:

  • Defeating Hillary Clinton?
  • Running a spectacular political campaign?
  • Bankrupting America his first month in office?
  • Spending more money than any human being in the history of earth?
  • Apologizing to Muslims for the liberation of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan from brutal Muslim regimes?

The Powers That Be also has some suggestions why Obama deserves to be nominated.

Can’t we have a ‘do-over’ on the election now that people are realizing what we got?

Al Gore’s Nobel Prize was a complete joke now that scientists are shifting their thought process to we are heading to a period of global cooling. Will they take the prize back from Al when it was shown he was creating hysteria?

Now we get Obama? What, is he going to get the peace prize for drawing down troops 12 months earlier than the Status of Armed Forces agreement with Iraq? Or perhaps for his surge in Afghanistan? Or is it for commiting $900 million dollars of borrowed money from China to rebuild Gaza?

Money for everyone! Monopoly money for everyone (yes, even $90 million for some little mouse in Nancy Pelosi’s backyard).

The markets are crashing because the finance guys know the printing presses are pumping out more money than China is willing to lend us. They can see the catastraphe on the horizon.

WTF? This just proves that the Nobel Peace Prize organization has gone to hell in a hand basket. I thought it was bad enough that the lame ass Al Gore received it but now to even mention Barrack Hussein Obama as a nominee is the sickest of all. What the hell for? What has he done except get us further in debt? Can someone tell me? Has the whole world gone mad?

Hey, folks, here’s the answer … Hillary Clinton is going to hand $1 billion to the Palestinians.

Apparently we want to help ‘rebuild’ Gaza … never mind that the Palestinians fired missiles into Israel (our ally, if that means anything); Israel warned them that it would retaliate, and did; and that none of the Arab regimes want a damn thing to do with the Palestinians.

But who steps in to help ‘rebuild’? You got it….

Things are getting to the point where the only sane response to the news is laughter.

But hey, this isn’t even quite a billion. What’s it to Washington? I’m sure our ability to monitor who gets this money, and how it is used, will be 100% … ineffective.

Hillary Clinton to offer US$1b to Gaza in move to sideline Hamas

MARCH 2 — Hillary Clinton will offer almost US$1 billion (RM3.6 billion) in aid to moderate Palestinian group Fatah in a move to sideline Hamas militants in Gaza.

The US secretary of state will make her first foray into the minefield of Middle Eastern diplomacy with the announcement of US$900 million to help rebuilding.

She arrived in Egypt yesterday for a meeting of major donors who are expected to pledge money to reconstruct the Gaza Strip, but only if the enclave’s rulers Hamas play no role in spending the cash.

Don’t tell me we’re going to have another Civil War:

Some state lawmakers fighting federal stimulus
      Associated Press

CONCORD, N.H. – For small-government die-hards, the $787 billion economic stimulus bill recently passed by Congress isn’t a life saver. It’s the last straw.

Lawmakers across the country are sponsoring resolutions — most of them only symbolic — asserting state sovereignty, in effect the right to ignore any federal law or policies they deem unconstitutional, including the stimulus bill, the No Child Left Behind Act and any new assault rifle ban.

In New Hampshire, the House is scheduled to vote on Republican state Rep. Daniel Itse’s resolution Wednesday. Supporters are planning a rally at the Statehouse before the vote.

“I think that the specter of some assaults on our liberty have become so real and immediate that there is a reaction,” Itse said.

Lawmakers in at least 15 states are sponsoring similar resolutions. They say they’re fighting back against decades of federal overreach, culminating in the stimulus package.

“This has been a progression from (the New Deal) days to today, with the only break being Ronald Reagan,” South Carolina state Rep. Michael Pitts said by e-mail. Pitts, a Republican, has a resolution pending in the South Carolina House. “The stimulus bill is simply propellant for the resistance.”

In January, 22 percent of those surveyed by the Pew Research Center disapproved of the stimulus. That number rose to 34 percent in February. The survey — which polled about 1,300 respondents — has a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Two lawmakers say they have received hundreds of calls from constituents supporting their resolutions. Michigan state Rep. Paul Opsommer, a Republican, said about 250 people have called or e-mailed to say thank you, whereas most of his bills draw fewer than 10 messages.

Missouri Republican state Rep. Cynthia Davis, whose resolution is pending in the House, said she has received at least 200 supportive messages from constituents and residents in other states.

“I’m getting letters from all over the country,” Davis said. “It’s really a beautiful thing, watching the spirit of the American Revolution come back.”

Resolution sponsors cite the 10th Amendment, which says the federal government has no authority beyond the powers granted to it under the Constitution.

Several governors — mainly Republican — have threatened to reject some of the stimulus money, claiming it would raise taxes in their states. Some analysts see the revolt as partisan posturing.

But Opsommer, who thinks the stimulus has spurred many of the resolutions, said in an e-mail that the states’ rights movement transcends party politics.

“Some Democrats feel it is an attack on Obama until I explain I also introduced it last year,” said Opsommer, whose resolution is pending in the Michigan House. “This is about the rights of the states and the people, not anything to do with Republicans or Democrats.”

A Democrat in Kentucky, state Rep. John Will Stacy, is the prime sponsor of a sovereignty resolution in that state. He did not immediately return calls.

The Oklahoma House recently passed a resolution from Republican state Sen. Randy Brogdon. Most of the resolutions are nonbinding, but Brogdon’s would have the force of law if it passed the Senate.

Oklahoma’s Democratic governor and attorney general would likely refuse to enforce the resolution, Brogdon acknowledges.

Karl Kurtz, a policy analyst at the National Conference of State Legislatures, couldn’t say how many sovereignty resolutions Congress has received in prior years, but he suspects the current craze is no accident.

“In the case of the sovereignty resolutions it appears to be an organized campaign,” Kurtz said, adding that states’ rights activists may have influenced the sponsors.

New Hampshire’s Itse has ties to the Free State Project, which urges small-government activists to move to New Hampshire. Many project members also belong to the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, a states’ rights group listing Itse as its political director.

“Anybody who’s willing to stand up and make a statement like that is a special friend,” said project spokesman Calvin Pratt. “I just wish we had thought of it first.”

Some in New Hampshire wish no one had thought of it. Richard Hesse, professor emeritus of constitutional law at the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, said Itse’s resolution could strip authority from state leaders, as well as from Congress and the president.

“When you think about this claim that if a state believes a federal law is unconstitutional it can just ignore it, then I presume if a county believed a state law was unconstitutional it could just ignore it,” Hesse said. “Really what’s implicit in this is an unwillingness to recognize a lawful authority.”

      What has b-a-r-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-c-c-c-c-c-k-k-k-k
done so far to merit nomination for a Nobel?

      1) Well, in 30 days he’s turned the world’s only superpower into a 3rd world country.

      2) He’s in the process of gutting our military by cutting its budget by 10%.

He’s using the anticipated “peace dividend” from 2) to expand welfare benefits to his ever-expanding core constituents. That would be the illegal aliens among us who are patiently waiting for their amnesty, their new homes, their new GM or Ford or Chrysler cars, and 60″ hi def TV’s.

      3) He’s singlehandedly reduced 401(k)’s of hardworking Americans by 30% – a mere 2 or 3 trillion, since winning the election.

      4) He’s filled his cabinet with tax cheats, lobbyists, abortion-on-demand cheerleaders, Marxists, Socialists, Vince Foster clients, bong-hitters and, oh yeah, good dancers.

I think his Nobel should come with its own fuse!

      Hmmm, which promise?

The one about taxes – nope, he gave out $8 a week and then is turning around and putting taxes on every energy source (so if you drive, heat your home, use lights and refrigerators, that one is gone).

The one about earmarks? – Nope. 2008 Omnibus bill has 9,000; no one can count the ones in the Pork = U Less bill.

The one about legislation being on line for 5 days before it’s signed? – nope, already broke that one with the Pork = U Less bill that no one even had time to read.

All of your comments and hatred toward Obama only serves to remind me of the hell I lived under when Bush stole two presidencies. Yes, he STOLE them. May not be true, but the garbage you spew toward Obama is about as true, so I think you guys deserve eight years of hell under Obama. It’s only fair after what I put up with: wars started with false evidence, Abu Ghraib, Terri Shaivo, Katrina, illegal wire taps, “mission accomplished”, tax breaks for the rich, US attorneys being fired, Jack Abramoff, billions to Halliburton and Blackwater, etc. Do you get it now? You’ve apparently forgotten; we haven’t. What a bunch of whiny sore losers. I thought you guys could deal. No wonder Republicans are becoming a fringe group.

I cannot believe the ignorance I have seen since November 8, 2009. Get over it people. He is not only our president, but the Best President possible for this time in this country’s history. As an African American, I have never been more proud than I am today. My people’s history in this hemisphere is bittersweet. Thank You Mr. President for adding the sugar to te lemonade we have been drinking for so many years. It is my prayer that God continues to bless and protect you and your family.

Yes, he does deserve this award. He is the only politician with a feasible plan. It is my contention that if he was anything other what he is nothing he does would be seen as anything but acceptable.

Further, it is my contention that it should be stated that Mr. Obama’s presidency is a nice down payment on the Bad Check issued to the African American all those years but be advised, We are still knocking.

    34. Kat of CA on October 10th, 2009 8:35 am

Ignorance is what I see every day. From our president to the people of this country. It is pretty sad when our own president, can’t even make a decision. I would hate to see what would happen if he had a real emergency like 911.
Maybe he should give Rudy a call.
I think the people of this country have been spoiled rotten and this is why our current government and the people of the US have no idea at how our country is being ripped apart by greed and stupidity. Put the two together and it makes us no different then the other corrupt countries
      out there.
Maybe if we actually read our history books, we might actually learn from our mistakes.

Almost every person that’s left a comment about Obama sounds like a complete idiot. Do you morons really think that any person who was elected president last November could clean up the mess it took Bush 8 years to create in a few months time? You’re delusional! And some of these comments are completely wrong and made up… like the fact that he was elected without producing his birth certificate! That is just preposterous! And that he’s “socialized” the entire country in one month? Well if that was true than why is there still not universal healthcare? People who have no intelligence and make facts up should be banned from public forums. Or maybe since Canada looks so good to you dumbsh*ts you should be forced to move there because intelligent Americans could do without you!
      _________
SM: Actually you would be the moron for not respecting others opinions.

Sorry, but you are in the minority on Obama. Even the people at the event gasped in horror when they heard who won.

I guess you much teach your children that hard work is not required in order to be recognized and to get ahead. It all just depends of whether you are a liberal socialist like Obama. Be rewarded for doing nothing while other actually deserving people who where on the nomination list get screwed. There’s a beautiful message for our youth.

BTW, here is a fact … Barack Obama said that the $787 billion stimulus plant would keep unemployment under 8% and create jobs. Oops. Guess you don’t like that fact. How about the fact that because Obama is in over his head and is actually making matters worse that unemployment is about to go over 10%.

Obama owns that and so will the Democrats in 2010 and 2012.

Here is another fact … Obama will be One and Done!!!

What did Obama do for Peace Prize?
      - Outlawed torture the first thing he was elected. Before that, the US was the only “developed” country to use torture;
      - Put a deadline to war in Iraq in 18 months (ending 10 billion a month spending on nothing, partially repairing America’s image as a world cop, and saving countless lives);
      - Didn’t start new war in Yemen, Somalia, or elsewhere despite intelligence reports;
      - Following his plans to close Guantanamo prison in coming January. You may not see news reports about it very often, but in Europe news show Guantanamo several times a week, and it would be serious blow to the US if Guantanamo prison will not close soon.

Yes I think it is not really enough, but what you could do in less than 9 months?

I don’t understand why he received the Nobel peace prize after two weeks in office for what nothing our country is worse now than when Bush was elected by the country twice!!!! come on people !!! nobody liked Bush but they elected him again. Obama isn’t helping us we have the worst unemployment problem ever and it’s only the beginning.
