Alaska Governor Sarah Palin Says Goodbye … A Special Farewell to the Media … In Honor of the American Soldier, You Quit making Things Up”.

On Sunday, Governor Sarah Palin said good bye to Alaskans and expressed her Freedom of Speech in the process. She spoke from the heart during her farewell speech as she did when she entered the national stage when she was chosen at John McCain’s VP.  She also had a special comment to some in the media. Most certainly the liberal MSM will fairly report her departure as they did during her time in office and when she ran as the first female Republican Vice President.

Palin left office about 18 months before the end of her term. In her farewell speech, she lashed out at the media, which she accused of “making things up,” and warned about encroachments from big government in Washington. “Be wary of accepting government largess,” she said. “It doesn’t come free, and often accepting it takes away everything that is free.” But she said nothing about her plans.

“Some straight talk for some, just some in the media, because another right protected for all of us is Freedom of the Press. And you have such important jobs, reporting facts and informing the electorate, and exerting power to influence. You represent what could and should be a respected a honest profession what could and should be a corner stone of our Democracy. Democracy depends on you. And that is why our troops are willing to die for you. In honor of the American soldier, you quit making things up”. The Gateway Pundit also posted the other bit of advice the Sarah Palin had for the media when it came to the new incoming Governor Sean Parnell and his family:

“He has a very nice family so leave his kids alone.”

Former Boxing Champion Vernon Forrest Shot Dead in Carjacking Attempt in Atlanta, GA

Another death of a boxer …

Former boxing champion and member of the United States 1992 Olympic Boxing team, Vernon “the Viper” Forrest was shot and killed Saturday night in Atlanta, GA in an attempted carjacking. Vernon Forrest was killed late Saturday night, July 25, 2009 at the age of 35.

According to WSBTV, Forrest stopped at a gas station to put air in the tire of his Jaguar when he was approached by two men. Vernon had a gun and after a brief foot chase that ensued, the boxer and suspects exchanged gun fire. The police said Forrest, 38, was shot about eight times in the back and the head. Police are said to be looking for two black males last seen leaving the scene in a Red Monte Carlo.

The shooting happened in the 500 block of Fulton Street in the Mechanicsville community.

Police said Forrest, 38, was shot about eight times in the back. Police said the gunmen had two semi-automatic weapons. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said Forrest was pronounced dead at 1:29 a.m. An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday morning.

Democrats and the “R” Word … Obama Special Olympics Comment, Retarded Term in House Health care Bill and Teaching Moments … Does Any One Ever Learn?

Well look at this “Obamanation”!

What is it with Democrats and their use of the “R” Word? Since when is the word “RETARDED” acceptable and why do Democrats learn nothing from the “teachable” moments?

It is just another example that no politicians, including the White House has read the House of representatives health care bill known as Obamacare.

The term “RETARD” was used in the house bill. How unreal, unthinkable and insensitive can these people be? The House bill of Health care reform written by Democrats refers to the out dated and insensitive term, “mentally retarded”.

The proposed health-insurance bill from the House of Representatives refers to mentally disabled people as “retarded” — a term advocates, relatives and physicians find outdated and offensive.

The bill refers to: “A hospital or a nursing facility or intermediate-care facility for the mentally retarded . . .”

Has anyone read this bill that Obama wanted a forced vote on prior to the August recess? The same bill that Nancy Pelosi still insists might still have a vote on prior to the recess. It is obvious that House of Representative members have not ready pages 389 and 390.

Mentally Retarded? Are you telling me the crafters of this bill have never heard of the term, mentally disabled or better yet intellectually disabled? How out of touch are these people and why hasn’t anyone read this to point it out sooner?

Barack Obama had previously stated that he was not familiar with a certain section of the Health care reform bill. One would think that when he was embarrassed by not even knowing the contents of the bill that he would have made him self familiar.

But then again, when a President thinks that it is funny to make a derogatory comment and thinks it is funny to laugh at “Special Olympics,” why would one think that using the term mentally retarded in the language of a bill.

Appearing on “The Tonight Show,” the president told host Jay Leno he’d been practicing at the White House’s bowling alley but wasn’t happy with his score of 129. The he rolled a gutter ball by quipping: “It was like the Special Olympics or something.”

The audience laughed, but the White House quickly recognized the blunder.

The backlash of the insensitive gaffe regarding “Special Olympics” was to give Obama a pass and say that it is a teaching moment. Funny or I should say pathetically sad that it appears that House Democrats learned nothing from that teaching moment and could not remove the “R” word and the negative stereotype by using the word “retarded” in their bill.

The Special Olympics thinks the president’s gaffe can be used as a teaching moment to remove the “r” word from our every day language and the negative stereotypes that go with it.

Sound familiar? We were just told the other day regarding another teachable moment when Barack Obama put his foot in his mouth and played the race card with the arrest of Harvard professor Gates by a white Boston police officer.

Then again, it was not to long ago that the liberal Democrat internet site,  the Huffington Post, had a post entitled … Palin will Run in ‘12 on the Retardation Platform. Once again I ask the question, how the hell did the term “retarded” get into the Democrat House health care bill? Has the far LEFT taken over the party? Also, has any politician read the bill? How does “RETARDED” make it by everyone’s eyes?

SHAMEFUL!!!

I guess we know what to expect from the Obama, Gates, Crowly “teachable” moment over a beer. Because so much was learned from Obama’s teachable Special Olympics moment. So will it be Miller Light diplomacy or Budweiser? Interesting that Obama can law off in front of the White House Press the using of the race card. So beer is supposed to change the fact how Professor Gates feels and thinks? Just another example of an Obama terrible mis-step and how it then becomes a “teachable” moment for those who were not responsible for the error in the first place. We are still waiting for what was learned in the “Special Olympics” teachable moment, let alone the playing the race card one. Who was it Obama who racially profiled the white police officer?

Teachable moments be damned, who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!

President Barack Obama Poll Numbers Sinking like a Stone … Obama get Vote of No Confidence on Economy & Health Care

According to the Rasmussen Report Daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday, 7/26/09, Barack Obama has hit an all time low. The S.S. Titanic, otherwise known in the MSM as the Good Ship Obama is taking on water and sinking fast.

After six short months, America has Obama fatigue and is already tired of his policies. Think voters do not have buyers remorse? It is bad enough that voters question Obama’s handling of the economy, but his latest irresponsible comment regarding race and the arrest by Sgt. James Crowly of the Cambridge police of Harvard professor Gates has certainly opened some Obama voter’s eyes.

Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11. That’s the first time his ratings have reached double digits in negative territory

Only 29% of voters now strongly approve of The One’s job approval, while 40% strongly disagree. Even more damaging to Obama is that his overall approval rating is at 49–50 disapproval.

From the Gateway Pundit, there are Zogby poll numbers that are even worse as Obama Presidental approval ratings fall to 48%.

Why is this troubling and a concern to the Obama White House? Barack Obama beat John McCain in the 2008 Presidential election by a 53% to 46% margin. Check out the exit polls from the election and see if you think that Obama could ever get the Independent vote or any Republican, let alone Conservative vote. Does any one think that Obama could get 49% of voters making over $100,000 when all his plans do is tax them for all of his social programs?

Hey Al, Did You get the MEMO? 3000 Low Temperature Records Set in July 2009

Hey Al Gore, it really is not easy being Green is it? More to the point, not easy claiming global warming when 3000 low temperature records were set in July 2009. Even your beloved Nashville, TN experienced record lows in July.

Care to explain how temperatures can be so low when the same amounts of CO2 are being emitted into the atmosphere? Maybe, just maybe there are other things that affect climates other than the science that the “global warming” cries? Maybe, just maybe, it’s cyclical and man has nothing to do with the temperature changes.

It’s not just the surface land temps — Blog reader Tim points out “Water temps at Frying Pan Shoals (off Cape Fear) fell to 78 degrees a few days ago; NDBC historical data shows this occurs only 0.3% of the time in July!” Here’s a look at the weekly departure from normal sea-surface temperatures:

First, some stats. 1,044 daily record low temperatures have been broken this month nationwide according to NCDC — count record “low highs” and the number increases to 2,925, surely to pass 3,000 before the end of the month. Some thoughts on the ‘low highs” below.*

Border Patrol Agent Robert Wimer Rosas Killed, Feds Arrest 3 Suspects in Connection with Murder

A manhunt is under way for those responsible for the murder of 30 year old border patrol agent Robert Wimer Rosas. Law enforcement agencies are receiving leads from both Mexico and the United States.  The suspects responsible for Rosas’ death are believed to be injuried and authorities have alerted hospitals on both sides of the border to be alert for patients with suspicious or unexplained injuries.

Robert Wimer Rosas was killed Thursday night when responding to a suspected illegal border crossing near Campo, CA. Rosas was shot in the head and body and was dead when backup agents arrived.

Authorities said at least one other agent in the field heard gunshots after Rosas left to respond to the call and couldn’t reach Rosas on his radio afterward.

Has Global Warming Ended? NYC 2nd Coldest July on Record & Record Lows in July in Nashville, TN

The Corner asks, has Global Warming stopped? Good question. If one is to look at the data over the past 10 years, it is hard to argue that there is global warming.

In fact, it’s more complicated than that. If we had no warming over the past ten years (true) and lots more CO2 in the air (true) but also a huge increase in volcanic activity (not true, but posited as an illustration), this would not be evidence that AGW theory was untrue, because the models used to predict warming would have called for no warming because all the particulate matter thrown up by the volcanoes should offset the effect of the CO2. So what we are really looking for is the degree of divergence between the predictions of the models used as the basis for long-run warming predictions versus actual temperatures, in order to falsify or corroborate the operational theory …

The Astute Blogger provides two charts, since the global warming folks and Al Gore love their charts, that show there has been no warming over the past 10 years. The premise is a simple one. If atmospheric man made CO2 has increased steadily over the past 10 years and global temperatures have not … where is the global warming and how is man responsible?

Even Al Gore’s Nashville, TN has experienced the coolest July 21 in history. Maybe Al was away that day and not doing any global warming speeches emitting his hot air and CO2 into the atmosphere. Also, maybe Al Gore turned his lights off that day, as he certainty did not for Earth Day 2009.

When the temperature at the National Weather Service station dipped to 58 degrees at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, it wiped out the previous record low for the date of 60 degrees, which was set in 1877.

So if “man” is creating global warming with CO2 emissions, why is NYC on track for the second coolest July on record?

WITH AN AVERAGE DAILY TEMPERATURE OF 71.6…CURRENTLY RUNNING 4.8 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL…THIS JULY IS ON TRACK FOR THE 2ND COOLEST ON RECORD. BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES HAVE OCCURRED ON 22 OUT OF 24 DAYS…WITH THE OTHER TWO DAYS BEING NORMAL. THERE HAVE BEEN ZERO ABOVE NORMAL DAYS.

However, if one asks the global warming LEFT, you are an idiot and a moron for thinking other than the scientific facts. Because let us not get science and letting the people know the facts about temperatures get in the way. Maybe this is the reason why more and more people think that “global warming” is exaggerated. A January 2009 Rasmussen poll showed that 44% of people say global warming is due to planetary trends, not people.

With temperatures going down over the past 10 years and Obama pushing “cap & trade” during a recession is it any wonder why 56% of Americans say they will not pay more taxes to fight Global Warming.

Rasmussen Report Poll has Barack “The Chosen One” Obama Below 50% Approval Rating … How Will This Affect Obama Agenda?

How low can he go? Barack Obama for the first time since he became President of the United States has an approval rating below 50%. According to The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll (strongly approve – strongly disapprove), Obama has a -8 Presidential Approval Index rating. However, what is most startling and has to have captured the attention of the White House, Barack Obama’s total approval rating is at 49%.

Overall, 49% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. Today marks the first time his overall approval rating has ever fallen below 50% among Likely Voters nationwide. Fifty-one percent (51%) disapprove.

Eighty-three percent (83%) of Democrats continue to approve of the President’s performance while 80% of Republicans disapprove. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 37% offer a positive assessment. The President earns approval from 51% of women and 47% of men.

Americans wanted change, but they certainly did not want what Obama is serving up. Only 25% of voters believe the $787 billion has helped the economy. 53% of voters are against the House health care bill, The President also gets low scores on his handling of health care, the economy and the budget.

Also, only 31% feel that the United States is headed in the right direction, while 63% say the wrong track.. That is down 7% from just a month ago.

With Obama’s poll numbers dipping under 50%, what does that mean for his socialist agenda? What Blue Dog Democrat or anyone for that matter who wants to be reelected would support the Obama agenda that “We the People” do not support? Obama coattails?

There is no reason for any Republican or Blue Dog Democrat to support Obamacare, NONE!!! Not unless they they do not want to be reelected.

Really? Really? Barack Obama’s quick jump to automatically presume racism and that the Cambridge, MA police department did something wrong in the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Lewis Gates Jr. tells me that maybe he was present and did hear a sermon or two.

Now Obama claims that this is a teaching moment? What exactly is the teaching moment? The fact that people should stop claiming racism with no facts or where none exists. Maybe the teaching lesson is for those with an agenda to stop crying racism.
