The Wrong Governor is Leaving … Alaska Governor Sarah Palin Resigning from Office

Wow, this will make cable news stop talking endlessly about Michael Jackson and his favorite color …

In a shocking move on the slow Friday news cycle before the 4th of July, Governor Sarah Palin is stepping down as Alaska’s chief executive by months end. Palin has stated that she will not seek a second term as Governor in 2010. I echo the words of Jammie Wearing Fool, “Just WOW”!

“People who know me know that besides faith and family, nothing’s more important to me than our beloved Alaska,” Palin said at an announcement from her home in Wasilla. “Serving her people is the greatest honor I could imagine.”

Palin was elected governor in 2006. She was tapped as Arizona Sen. John McCain’s vice presidential running mate last year.

Palin said she was transferring authority to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who will be sworn in at the Governor’s Picnic on July 26.

Is her political career over or is this a bold move to get out of the cross hairs of the media and Democrats to run as the true Conservative, Washington, DC outsider in 2012?

“We are not retreating, we are advancing in another direction.”

It had been speculated that Sarah Palin would not seek a second term as she had aspirations of a career on the national stage. Let us just hope that this is not a result of the ridiculous attacks from the LEFT and from the jealous McCain staffers. Lt Governor Sean Parnell will take over the reins on July 26 and hopefully give him a leg up in the 2010 elections.

She implied that her real decision was not to seek re-election, and that the resignation was a natural step after that in order to avoid a lame-duck final 18 months of her term.

“With this announcement that I’m not seeking re-election, I’ve determined it’s best to transfer the authority of governor to Lieutenant Governor (Sean) Parnell,” Palin said. “I’m determined to take the right path for Alaska, even though it is unconventional and is not so comfortable.

The Left, Democratic pundits and the liberal media can say that Sarah is finished all they want. I do not believe that is the case. The 2012 Presidential elections will truly be one of change. The pendulum swung too far to the left and socialism with Barack Obama in 2008. By the time 2012 rolls around the country is going to need a swing back to traditional values and a common sense approach. Sarah Palin will have positioned herself as the non-incumbent and the real non-Washington DC insider. However, speculation is running ramped as to why she stepped down at this moment. The Anchoress thinks that maybe she or some one in her family is ill.

Right Wing News thinks that she did the best thing for the state of Alaska as their personal attacks against her and her family are still coming even after the election. Personally, it is obvious that the LEFT considers Sarah Palin a threat as witnessed by their unending attacks. Is it possible that she is taking away their ammunition?

Listening to the replays on the news channels, what I heard was a women who was tired of people coming after her personally with BS suits and investigations which kept her from her family and from doing her job as Governor of Alaska. She did, IMO, the best thing for the State, since the jackals were still coming after her even after all these months past the election. She put her State ahead of herself, to a degree.

The internet is a buzz over the stunning announcement as seen by almost a complete meme sweep at Memeorandum.com.

Yes, it’s all everyone else’s fault. Repubs fail at everything they do, but it is somehow everyone else’s fault but theirs. That damn “left”, always ruining everything!

More information on “grassroots” supporters gathering across the nation to support Sarah Palin for President in 2012 can be found online at http://www.palin4pres2012.com

Note, the website is in danger of crashing due to the flood of readers and supporters signing up to show their interest in a Palin Candidacy. The GOP establishment had better watch out, Sarah Palin and Ron Paul combined with the power of the internet will remove the stranglehold of GOP special interests and the elites who have brought the party to its knees in defeat in the 2008 elections.

Oh Sarah! David Letterman’s attacks could want anyone to seek a private life. Being called Slutty and being told your 14 is knocked up by a old baseball player. When is CBS going to put letterman out to pasture? Imus got axed for less.
If this was the 70′s or 80′s Letterman would be gone.

SM: So why is the LEFT so afraid of Sarah Palin? They treated her and her family worse than any candidate in recent history. And continue to do so.

They do, because they fear her. Admit it Moonbats. You are afraid of a woman. A conservative, Republican woman. It is shameful how all of you have acted. However, I believe the last laugh will be on you.

Maybe the Leftist moonbats should spend more time worrying about their wet behind the ears President who will single handed bring the balance of power back to republicans starting in 2010 and culminating in 2012.

Every generation needs their Jimmy Carter. We got Barack.

I believe Palin is getting ready for a Third Party run in 2012. It may be a Palin/Paul or maybe a Palin/Schiff ticket. It’s important to know that Palin is a “Christian” dominionist who has the approval of the treasonous org, The Council for National Policy. Her goal is to overthrow the US government in the name of “Christ.” Once this happens, true Christians will be beheaded. She is a member of the Alaskan branch of the Constitution Party (CP). The CP is designed to suck in true conservatives and neutralize them. Both Palin and Paul are treasonous and shouldn’t be trusted. If Palin was a true conservative, then you would never have even heard of her.

…”overthrow the US Government” and “behead the true Christians”??

Now that sounds like something Osama bin Laden Barack Saddam Hussein Obama would do!!

    7. BUN on July 4th, 2009 9:02 am

Susan..disagree….the word is “infiltrate” the US Government and change it into something no one will recognize in 4 years; don’t worry about Christians because they may become less and less an issue as new religions take over! IMO

Sounds like you got the memo on how to spin this thing from Rambo and Plouffe, they’ll be real happy with your “she’s finished” spin, what a joke- lol, you WISH!

Palin’s move puts yet more pressure on Obama to finally get some results, as the soaring rhetoric isn’t hypnotizing the plebes like it used to. This week Helen Thomas, Colin Powell, and Warren Buffet all turned on him. Polls are looking droopy for The One lately.

Obama’s porkulus program is a train wreck, all it’s done is bump interest rates and tank the dollar. We are being laughed at by bad guys like Tehran, Pyongyang, and Al Qaida who amazingly turned-down Barack’s friend-requests.

Palin could trounce him in 2012, when Americans would vote for the Gipper-in-Heels in drones- while begging for lower taxes, free enterpise, and a defense posture with some backbone- and an end to the radical, anti-American nightmare we’ve got now.

      Go get ‘em Sarah-
      __________
SM: I would agree. I think that come 2012, only a real candidate for change and political DC outsider will be considered for the Presidency. People will be so sick and tired of the transparent lies of Obama and any other Rep or Senator that sells their soul for a compromise or vote.

If Palin resigned as a first step towards a run for the White House in 2012, you can go ahead and pencil in an Obama re-election landslide.

      Happy 4th of July!!!
      ___________
SM: I doubt it. Obama, if he keeps up his nonsense and continues the downward trend, he might face a primary battle against Hillary Clinton.

Obama has turned out to be the pre-packaged fraud with zero experience that every thinking person knew he was.

As a woman who is a registered Independent, I am still disgusted at the treatment Sarah Palin received from the MSM and the “left” in general.

As someone pointed out—(& even after all of the highly inflammatory comments made in public about her and her family) Don Imus was dismissed for much less. This total behavior is disgusting- and Sarah, in my eyes—has handled all the pressure and controversy pretty damn well. Say what you want about her—I bet even HRC holds her in pretty high regard right now. Sarah is just as tough as Hillary is..and look where Hillary ended up!

A million little cracks in that ceiling, Hillary? Hell, yes…now America waits to see if Palin will be the one to break right through completely. Shame on all of you Sh*t-talkers! Let this woman do what she does best. GOVERN and LEAD the PEOPLE.

      GO SARAH!

    11. St Stephen on July 4th, 2009 1:34 pm

      Sarah Palin is finished…

much like Richard Nixon was “finished”…until he won the Presidency!

Logistically, this is the best move that a political aspirant in her position could make, and a timely one as well.

She will be getting more, not less exposure politically and will mature much better than if she had to maintain the duties and reponsibilities of a Governor in a state so far from the other 48.

Kudos on an intelligent decision and I hope that she is front and center on calling out the contradictions and broken promises of this present administration. It is all coming together for her and that only shows that she has the savvy to make a serious run for 2012.

      “PALIN for PRESEIDENT”

Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

    13. dotratc on July 4th, 2009 3:59 pm

Sarah Palin was always divisive; even if she ran as an independent, she would split the Republican party. Now she has given her opponents a new term to label her with: “quitter.”
      ________
SM: Oh you mean like the vicious ones they already use like tramp and whore? Or the ones that they call her children? Or the “retard” jokes they were making on The Huffington Post?

Frankly the Libs. moonbats and media should be friggin ashamed of them-self.

Never has anything like this ever been done. It does just go to show everyone just how much a threat they thought she was.

I am not sure if I would want this to be the precedent for politicians. Wonder how Barack & Michelle would feel if their kids were suddenly fair game? Of course that would be just as reprehensible. Think Obamas would not be pissed? But of course they get a free pass as they are Democrats with children.

If I was Todd Palin I probably would have punched someone’s lights out at this point. It just goes to show just how sick politics has become.

Sarah Palin is a bully and a coward. Yet, you continue to defend this idiot. I hope she does try to run for president in 2012. She will not win. Keep on with your right wing propaganda, monkey. You, too, are an idiot, to defend this wolf in sheep’s clothing.
      __________
SM: And more lunacy from the LEFT. You are what you speak.

Sarah Palin is a bully and a coward.

Yea, this from a woman talking about a woman who has been vilified in the media as being worst than the anti-Christ. Her children and family were some how fair game, yet other candidates were not (Obama).

More PDS from the left. What makes Sarah Palin so dangerous to the LEFT that they feel the need to attack her personally.

You can have a disagreement with someone’s policies, that is understandable, its called dissent. But what makes that LEFT act like a bunch of rabid dogs when it come to Sarah?

Are you all that afraid of her?
      R

    17. bob on July 5th, 2009 7:38 am

I don’t have anyone in mind. The last President who tried to conserve our nation and stop its merger into the NWO was JFK–and you know what happened to him. All presidents nows are just pawns for the globalists. If it was even possible for a president to be elected who was a patriot, then he or she couldn’t get very far.

    18. Peter Andersen on July 5th, 2009 10:08 am

SM – You must be mistaking me for someone else.

Sarah Palin is like getting hit by seagull turd – repugnant but nothing a little soap won’t clean up – and certainly nothing to be scared of.
      __________
SM: Nope, you apply as well and fall into the same category.

Speaking from experience, no one takes this much political and personal hate unless they are a threat and people fear them. Otherwise, there would be no reason for so many to make such person attacks against this woman and her family. To think that is is ok to go after children and make “retard” jokes is despicable.

Oh, but you thin skinned Obama apologists would be the first to cry racism and hate if one thing was said that Obama was a socialist.

As previously stated, you can disagree with one’s politics, but when you make someone’s mere existence your personal vendetta, Houston, you have a problem … known as Palin Derangement Syndrome.

It is sad that people would find a threat in an attractive, conservative woman who loves her family, her husband and her country. Do you find it so offensive that she would have and care for a Downs baby. Does that make you nervous or does it just make liberal guilty as they know they would have most likely aborted the child.

Make no mistake about it … Liberals have an issue with Palin because she is a direct threat to them. There is no other reason why such “personal” hate would have been put forward to try and destroy her. What is the insanity going to be like in 2012?
      R

    19. St Stephen on July 5th, 2009 12:30 pm

#18 Scared Monkeys, you ask what is the insanity going to be like in 2012.

It very well may be suicidal for the liberals as they see the popularity shrinking like a raisin for their pet tax and spend projects and Sarah palin Gaining precisely because of her conservative values and love of family, husband and country.

What a triple crown vakue system!

Sarah is ahead of the game already and they know it, hence the onslaught. Too bad(for them) it is just fueling the fire!!!

      Keep on keepin’ on, Sarah!

(a lot of exclamations in this post, rightfully so.)

WOW! So much hate from the left.

    21. bob on July 5th, 2009 5:12 pm

      SM,

You need to blog about something called the DIALECTIC PROCESS and how you’ve been deceived by it. Here’s the truth: The right and left and middle are all controlled by the SAME people. And support for ANY of them will lead to the NWO. Palin is as evil as Al Gore who is as evil as Reagan. They are all agents who want to overthrow the US government–what’s left of it. Why do you think Palin’s kids all have witchcraft names??

    22. Peter Andersen on July 5th, 2009 10:55 pm

SM – My wife, my next door neighbour and my kids’ nanny are all “attractive, conservative women who love their family, their husband and their country.” But none of them claim to be able to stare down Putin or fix the country’s economic problems.

Ms. Palin falls into a small group of people that intrigue me only because a certain loony fringe seem to worship them despite their mediocre talents. Other examples include Paris Hilton, Ryan Seacrest, John Bolton and Kim Jong-il.

But in this day and age, where Colbert passes for discourse, Twitter for philosophy and JK Rowlings is the new Shakespeare is all par for the course I guess.

Wishing your 401K a speedy recovery – Peter

    24. John on July 10th, 2009 10:58 am

What’s to be scared of in Palin? She might be able to win a primary, but has no hope of winning an election. If this was about politics, Huckabee, Rormney or even Huntsman – more credible candiates with far better shots at being POTUS would be the ones to be scared of.

In any case, maybe I’ve been napping but since when did cutting and running become qualities to be admired in a prospective Commander in Chief?
