CORRUPTION IN ARUBA … REALLY?
Say it isn’t so Joe, what a shocker … corruption in Aruba, who would have thunk it!
The corruption investigation will go on … As reported in Amigoe, an independent investigation will take place on possible corruption and “misgovernment” on Aruba. Aruban Premier Nelson Oduber (MEP) announced earlier that there would be no investigation on corruption on the island. What else would one expect Oduber to say say seeing that it id his party in power and who will be scrutinized. For those that would claim that Aruba is “One Safe Island,” never mind the fact that such a notion would be lost on the family of missing and presumed dead Natalee Holloway. Can one really expect the truth when even the Netherlands states that there is corruption at the highest levels?
Corruption in Aruba … Talk about going out on a limb
By that, she referred to the quoted abuses with governmental institutes of Aruba, in her letter to the Dutch parliament. “You will of course at least need investigation methods to determine this”, says the State Secretary.
However, Premier Oduber did not want to elaborate yesterday as to what the plan of approach should imply, except that it particularly should enervate ‘tall stories’.
On the question if the plan of approach also implies an investigation on possible corruption, he then responded with a ‘no’: “The plan of approach is not an investigation. The Kingdom has no right whatsoever to investigate internal affairs of Aruba.”
The Netherlands have long been worried and accused Aruba of corruption.
The questions are about the political climate on Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles as a result of the interview in the Volkskrant newspaper with former deputy Attorney General (PG) Nico Jörg, who described the climate as being ‘dismal’. Brinkman asked whether the Dutch Minister was aware of ‘the serious allegations of examples of corruption, such as confusion of interests, lobbying for political reasons and nepotism in Aruba” and what the Minister has subsequently done with this information
A pattern of corruption always starts at the top and trickles down to most every aspect that it touches, especially on a small island country like Aruba where it is easy to perpetrate fraud and corruption. With a pattern of corruption at play, are we supposed to believe that there was not one present in Aruba when the police and government officials dealt with the disappearance and investigation into missing Natalee Holloway?
The Lower Chamber regarding the status of the government of Aruba’. The package is a bundle of letters, all of recent dates, from the Aruban Attorney General, the head of the National Criminal Investigation Department, the directors of Aliens organization IASA, and the KIA-prison, police force chief Peter de Witte, and the registry of the Court in First Instance. The letters are particularly refutations of the raised abuses by the Dutch State Secretary in her letter of May 25th. The institutes especially allege that Bijleveld was not informed correctly, and used inaccurate and obsolete information in her report.
Aruban officials have claimed recently the the Natalee Holloway case is near an end. However, we would state that did it every really begin? It was also not to long ago that Dutch official Hero Brinkman called the Aruban Natalee Holloway instigators, “corrupt as hell”.
EXIT QUESTION: Can one really not think there was corruption when a case where 3 suspects were last seen with a missing girl driving away, the same three suspects lie about dropping the victim off at a hotel, then point fingers at innocent people, then continually lie in declaration to the police and even confess to crimes against the victim not once but twice. All this being said, Aruba still does not prosecute. Corruption? You make the call.

So let’s see – it’s an election year on Aruba and all of a sudden, political opponents to the incumbent administration are coming out of the woodwork and accusing the sitting Prime Minister of corruption. That would never happen anywhere else in the world, would it?

I don’t believe everyone equates danger to a Yacht crime survey. Or say Aruba is dangerous for having a gang of thugs on every corner. I believe it has to do with the corrupt government and flimsy laws and the fact that if a crime does happen, its likely you wont find justice. There is no line that gets crossed or bar set. It’s a totally free for all. That’s the danger in Aruba. A bunch of chickens, with their heads cut off…well…that last part is just wishful thinking at this point.

This is an election year in Aruba? This whole thing is smoke and mirrors. Hero Brinkman is right on target. There will never be a good investigation of the Natalee Holloway case until the Dutch decide to reestablish control of Aruba, Bercuse and Caracoa and get rid of all the drug driven politics.
The real solution is for the US government to declare all three of the islands to be off limits to American turists. Since George Bush didn’t have his State Department do the right thing at the time, it let the thugs off the hook.

20 Jun 2008 | The Netherlands is to sign a cooperation agreement with the World Bank and the British Department for International Development (DFID) aimed at tackling corruption and promoting good governance in developing countries.
Dutch development minister Bert Koenders called the Governance Partnership Facility an important instrument for jointly stepping up efforts in the fight against corruption. ‘Dutch taxpayers’ money should be spent on reducing poverty,’ he said. ‘In poor countries corruption stands in the way of development, and that is unacceptable.’
As part of this agreement, the Netherlands will pursue a common anti-corruption policy in many countries with which it has a development relationship. Countries will receive support aimed at improving their budgetary and legal systems, and strengthening the oversight capabilities of civil society organisations and the media. Countries that receive Dutch budget support (5% of the total development cooperation budget) have to comply with conditions relating to anti-corruption and good governance before they can qualify for this kind of direct support.
Anti-corruption policy is high on the Dutch government’s agenda and the development minister has recently tightened up Dutch policy in this area. According to the report issued by the Anti-Corruption Task Force, established by Mr Koenders, risk analyses will be conducted to ensure a greater focus on preventing corruption. In addition, funding is being given to a UN and World Bank asset recovery pilot project designed to help developing countries claim back funds that have been channelled illegally into foreign bank accounts. A code of conduct has also been introduced for embassy staff, explaining what to do if they suspect Dutch nationals or businesses of bribing foreign government employees. This will help the Public Prosecution Service pursue such offences.

If Aruba became Independent in 1996, there would have been no disapearance of Holloway. The Dutch Politicians since 1986, and always have done ANYTHING they could to maintain their colonies in the caribbean.

I am sure as I type the Dutch are investigating away at all the corruption going on in Aruba(yeah right) Over 4 years now and still not one person to come forward to do anything about the lousy investigation, conflicts of interest and noone seeing Natalee ever again since she was last with the 3. Still noone in Aruba can name one person in Aruba who stood up for Justice for Natalee in the govt or police dept. Paulus Anita Joran and the Kalpoes are still all out enjoying life, while Natalee was robbed of hers.. Heard some 22ish aged boys talking the other night and they were talking about a couple girls that were very drunk.. and some guys they know picked them up because it would be easy to have sex with them in that condition.. the guys told them, they would get lucky.. Ho hmmmmmmm go out a half hour before closing time, 3 of them, and move in on an intoxicated girl and then serve her up one of the strongest drinks in the house on the way out the door(perhaps drugged) so they could put her on the beach…(and pigs fly) everyone knows exactly why they went to pick up an intoxicated girl. Mos (the airhead) said he even found a chat session where they talked about picking up American tourists and what they plan to do to them. I don’t believe for one minute Natalee would’ve consented to anything like that with any of the 3. So Aruba do something you haven’t done in the last 4 years.. work for Natalee the victim, instead of Dompig and his cousins , sons friends, Arlene and her cousin guido, Straten and his friends and godsend.. and tell us why Aruba Spokesman Steve Cohen who said he was briefed all the time on the case told people he expected 2 of the 3 at least to be charged with murder and rape.

Natalee Holloway was last seen alive in the company of Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, and Joran Van Der SLoot.. She has never been seen again,,they gave 22 dif statements about what happened with her that night.. The story never changes when one tells the truth. They allowed to black security guards to sit in jail for murder and kidnapping.. after they framed them.They were prepared to leave them there until Beth seen that Natalee never returned to her hotel to be kidnapped by them. Police still arrested the 2 black men after watching it. Parents were seen on tv and statements lying.. Police were on statements lying, Aruban spokes people on statements lying. First prosecutor goes on a 2 week vacation just a few months after the biggest nightmare to hit the island. Evidence that showed up was lost or turned into something else. No searches of the last 3 with Natalee for 9 days, Sloots house search took almost 3 years later. Conflicts of interest galore, Why is Joran going to get 15 years if they find her? Why is Deepak saying how is the girl doing? Why did Joran say Deepak raped and buried her? Why is Deepak saying Joran raped her? Why do they have chat sessions of the 3 saying they were going to pick up american tourists girls and what they would do with them? Why did Deepak want to throw an investigation off before it was even known Natalee was missing? They went out and moved in on an intoxicated girl for one reason. 3 guys and ONE intoxicated girl…not cool.. Any guy with half a brain when he goes to pick up a girl for a date he makes sure she arrives back home safely, calls someone, etc.. They tried to say Jamie Skeeters doctored his tape, turns out he didn’t..and Jamie SKeeters said Deepak said we did, you would be surprised how simple it was. They know what happened.. probably all got so much on each other its a house of cards..one falls they all go down.. Poor Natalee just went to enjoy her graduation and walked into a nightmare.

Why did Deepak tell the guard in jail that Paulus, Joran and them all sat around the pool and made up the Holiday Inn lie, before it was even known to the public Natalee was missing?

I am not missing anything.. If as he said he left Natalee and Joran at the beach…knew nothing else about it..why would he be asking how the girl is doing, unless he knew she was in distress. Doesn’t mean she didn’t die.. Technology was used last year that wasn’t available in 2005(so the prosecutor said) and were able to retrieve chat sessions from 2005, they have a chat session of them saying the fact the girl is dead is not good. They also bugged the Kalpoes house and heard them talking about events of that night. Kalpoes are too interested in getting money from Dr. Phil due to him ruining their reputation(give us a break).. After Deepak is saying on his statement.. they would all go out usually Joran and/or Freddie would make the moves on the girl first.. and they have all been in the same room having sex with tourists. What makes that night any dif from those nights? Need a new story, because Natalee lost her life.
As for pictures of Natalee or in south america or venezuela.. FBI has a site online with a number.. if you truly have pics of Natalee anywhere after that night.. contact them.. but I can tell you they don’t exist.. 4 years and not once has any had any credible info of Natalee alive or a picture. There is a reason for that. Figured Aruba didn’t want to close it due to outrage and the fact they would have to turn all the info over to the family of Natalee’s attorneys. Cops on this case were friends of the families or related to the suspects. Natalee isn’t living anywhere. Just a bunch of cold hearted people who think they have the right to end another young person’s life and it’s ok and sit and watch the victims families suffer year after year..

The FBI wouldn’t PROUDLY tell anyone they have no case file on Natalee.. They know exactly who Natalee Holloway is.. If you watched the movie it said they found nothing of Natalee in those countries. People put out so much misinformation on purpose on this case.. just like the note supposedly Natalee wrote to Paulus..and Paulus didn’t turn it over for awhile. I don’t know the number to any FBI case..What do you think the FBI did with all the info they gathered? Threw it in the trash? Joran and his attorney went to court to fight to keep the FBI out of this investigation.. but it was granted by the judge to let the FBI have access to the files. If Joran was really seeking to find Natalee why would they fight to keep the FBI out of the case? None of them did one thing to help find Natalee..and still haven’t. 9 days at the first if they didn’t know anything, they could’ve help people find her and they were all busy getting together and making up lies, even the parents.. and trying to portray themselves all victims of an 18 year old 110 pound girl and letting 2 innocent men sit in jail for murder and kidnapping. So Joran Van der Sloot is the credible witness that Natalee was sold and in another country… too funny. He also said Deepak raped and buried her.. He left her on the beach and went home.. Well you’re exactly right there are two different tracks. And one is to stay focused on Joran and his admissions and what the investigators and prosecution can now do with him. But I think the second thing to be faced eventually is we need to get to the bottom of exactly what was transpiring in the first 48 hours of Natalee’s disappearance. You know to set aside Joran we have to look at you know we had some stunning revelations that were being admitted from Joran as he was describing them, it couldn’t help but take us back to the very beginning. The first 48 hours after her disappearance where a lead detective asked us only one medical question. And it was does Natalee have a history of epilepsy or seizures, and the answer of course was no. And we didn’t know why that question kept resurfacing during the months of Natalee’s disappearance but I think that our stunning revelation was when Joran admitted that to Patrick, it’s very suspicious. And it’s certainly a red flag that needs to be delved into. There is a reason why this was asked of us and we need to get to the bottom of why.
