Barack and Michelle Obama’s Excellent Date in New York City … While We have Run Out of Money … Sacrifice? Let Them Eat Cake

King & Queen Obama … “Let them eat cake.” Your hard earned tax dollars at work. How out of touch with the times could these people be? Do they just not get it or do they just not care?

Let_them_eat_cake

This is the campaign promise that Obama decides to keep? A trip to NYC, some drinks, dinner and a Broadway show. The President does realize that all budgets need to be cut, even his date night budget, right?

“I am taking my wife to New York City because I promised her during the campaign that I would take her to a Broadway show after it was all finished,” the president said yesterday after touching down at JFK for an intimate night on the town.

So as President Barack Obama tells America that we are out of money and they “WE THE KingobamaPEOPLE” need to tighten our wallets and control our budgets, King and Queen Obama fly off to NYC for the evening for a date. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! It’s good to be King.

So what is it that the Obama’s are doing to display their sacrifice to an floundering economy, rising unemployment rates and continues housing mortgage foreclosures?   As Flopping Aces stated, I thought we had a financial crisis and everyone was required to sacrifice? Could you imagine the outcry from the LEFT and the media if GWB did this during a recession?

Imagine for a moment the “news” media reaction if President Bush had taken Laura out for a night in New York with half the Secret Service, the U.S. Military, New York’s finest and the news media tagging along at taxpayer expense?

It’s bad enough that the taxpayers were left with a bill for hundreds of thousands of dollars for staff, security, military and police time. It’s also the fact that all these people had to give up their Saturday night with their families to spend it so the Obamas could cause massive traffic jams all over New York inconveniencing thousands more.

The Obama’s, not a cheap date. A list of the expenses are below which hardly covers the security involved.

Taxpayers footed the bill for the big night on the town, which included a total of at least $24,000 for the three aircraft used to ferry the Obamas, aides and reporters to New York and back. Dinner costs and orchestra seat tickets — at $96.50 apiece — were paid by the Obamas.

Obama’s jet, a Gulfstream 500, served as a more modest Air Force One for the day in place of the customary presidential Boeing 747.

Is anyone not seeing that this is almost like King Louis and Maria Antoinette redux. Barack and Michelle Obama wine, dine at one of NYC’s elite restaurants and then take in a play while on Monday GM will be declaring bankruptcy, 14 plants will begin the process of closing, 1000’s of workers will lose their job as well as numerous dealerships will cease to exist. This is hardly the image one would think a President of the USA would want to portray. Having a great time and living it up, while other lose their jobs, their homes and their livelihood while a President spends and spends and spends.

Well Said Red ! I do believe both Obama and Michelle have lusted after that town & country life for many years. We will pay for that for them, as a result. If this gross frivolity with our taxpayer’s dollars doesn’t wake up some now, nothing will. Michelle needs a reality check, if he indulges her to this degree then how much influence does her opinion have in global and domestic policy ????????????

Remember what he said at the fundrasier for the stimulus trainwreck Reid when he went to Vegas on our dime?

      “You ain’t seen nothing yet.”

Here’s $24K more of our money, which I believe is seriously underestimated.

Hubby and I just learned what we’ve been doing wrong. We had no clue you were suppose to take a slew of reporters from your own city to date night in another city. Okay, I admit it – we had no clue we were even suppose to take reporters. We hicks, clinging to our guns and religion thought date night was just for the two of us.

#1 – Something else will wake them up. Even the ‘Obama-enamored”. It will be the eventuall tsunami of pink slips that reaches them also. That, and only that, will bring them out of their Obama euphoria.

I’m not saying I’m not concerned about the amount of money it must have taken to fund such a trip, and the fact that they are so out of touch with the “real people”….. That is in fact a concern, but more than that, for me anyway, is just the simple fact that he went on such a trip. There were/are so many people that ragged on Bush for anything they could find, but I don’t recall him EVER doing such things. I remember how Bush looked prior to becoming President, and then how he looked afterward. Believe me, he was not out doing such things, and not only that, he didn’t even think about anything other than running the country the best way he knew how. I’m not sure I”m really even making my point, so I’ll try again, without making this much more long-winded.

My point is….to me, Bush seemed very stressed at times, and more times than not, seemed to always be lost in thought, perhaps dwelling even, dwelling on things that he had done, things that needed to be done, etc. I can only imagine that he only got a few hours sleep each night, because he was more than likely wide awake thinking of the long day/days ahead of him, his mind constantly working. So, I suppose for me, what bothers me most is the simple fact that Obama is even able to put aside anything and everything for a few hours to enjoy a night on the town. There will be some people who argue that he is not only deserves it, but is entitled to it. I would have to argue that though. There are but a handful of jobs in this world that require constant attention to detail, and that do not allow you any free time, or any time that you’re not thinking of what else you should be doing. While it might very well be deserved, those who take on such positions realize that entitled or not, you just don’t do it. The choice of whether to take on such a job is each persons right to make prior to taking on such a job. If you make the decision to take a job that requires such time and dedication, then you are also willingly giving up the leisurely lifestyle. I would assume that being President and running an entire country would probably rank right up there in the top 5 of such jobs, if not being number ONE!!!! I can’t believe anyone fell for his crap and voted for him.

On the top of Obama’s list is Obama! He won
the money, the power, the control, you name it,
he won it. So, while America is being torn down
in order to ‘rebuild’ it, the Chief spends your
earnings on whatever suits his fancy and furthers
his perceived ends. What is all our money being
spent on?…don’t bother to ask; ‘transparency’
      is not a factor.

Yawn, just another day at the Borat Insane D’ohbama Whitehouse.

It’s good that he and Mrs Borat are so insulated from the “little sheeple”. Swine flu, and all, ya know?

#11: only thing transparent for THIS administration is its accountability. Ah, poor choice of words: replace “transparent” with “invisible”.

    14. Brenda in Virginia on June 1st, 2009 1:12 pm

rightknight…I wouldn’t go so far as to say Obamanation “won” the White House, it was BOUGHT for him via money from the likes of George Soros and God knows who else who wish to see America fail as a free nation.

Basically, through advertising the “chosen one” on low-end trash stations such as MTV…and pushing the “change” crap throughout the pop-culture arenas, he managed to get the uninformed vote of the masses who probably cannot tell you one accomplishment of George Washington…but could name every song BOY George ever wrote.

I’m afraid we’ve lost this country for good.

Obama took his wife out for a night on the town. George Bush squandered BILLIONS on a nonsensical war in Iraq, killing thousands of our young people, along with countless innocent Iraqui’s along with it.

I think I would give my regards to Broadway.

I hope that the American people have enough sense not to re elect Obama. I hope we remember these incidents and only give Obama one term. I wish all our US Presidents would have only basic living expenses covered at tax payer expense. Obviously, this would not include their date nights. The greatest of all is the servant of all.

    21. Fed Up on June 1st, 2009 9:18 pm

By the way Barak, “We the People” did not make the promise to Michelle, so why are we footing the bill? You need to repay all the money spent on your date night to NYC back.

    22. Michelle Smith on June 1st, 2009 11:57 pm

#16 In case you haven’t noticed Barrack Obama has spent 4 times the money that Bush spent in 8 years in just a few months. Also, in case you didn’t notice, we are still in a war. That’s some change for you right there.

I also remember that when Bush took vacation, every liberal in this country had their panties in a wad over it. How dare the President get a day off when we are at war and when we were attacked on 9/11 but now it’s okay for Obama to spend TRILLIONS of dollars and take little wifey to a Broadway show on tax payers money.

Ain’t life grand when you can spend other people’s money without a care in the world

24,000.00 would pay off my hospital bills from heart, diabetes, and dental bills and i would be so grateful. it’s a shame that this wanna be asshole has no shame in wasting our hard earned tax dollar. sorry, but buttcrack obama is (not) presidential material, never has been, never will be.
America is at a boiling point now and something is bound to happen. just in case you are out of touch: 6 hour stay in hospital for a heart cath,30,000.00. 4 hour stay in emergency room for pneumonia,3800.00. 3hour stay in hospital for hernia surgery, 18,000.00. blood work for diabetes check up, my insurance was billed 800.00.and this asshole spends money like he worked for it.

It’s not just the trip to NYC that is irksome. It is the arrogance of the two to think that the Whitehouse “steal” allows them to continue their
regular entertainment at the Whitehouse, instead of their Rezko bargain in Chicago. Only difference is we are now paying for them to live higher then they ever imagined. Must be Blogo had to be ruined along with Rezko and anyone else that might squeal on Obama.

The Alinsky Administration by Jim Geraghty will help you understand the real Obama. He will stoop to any level to get what he wants, and has no conscience. We are all just pawns for him to get more and more power. It took me about two minutes to figure him out, and I watched him play act just as I knew he would. Also influenced by Frank Marshall Davis(his mentor in Hawaii growing up), who was a Communist Pedophile from Chicago.

If you see that ACORN is going to be investigated, don’t hold your breath because it will not be a real investigation, because right smack in the middle of all of the corruption and thuggry, is Barack Obama, David Axelrod, Valerie jarrett and the rest of the Chicago. Obama taught the Saul Alinsky tactics for them on a regular basis.Obama is also involved in the voter fraud
      with ACORN.

I just cannot understand why our powerful people of great wealth, power and influence, will not unite and take on his secret power and make him show us a real birth certificate. Why would he spend a million dollars to fight showing it, unless he is not qualified?

When I hear people defend the O’s, I pity them, because they are taken in by his Alinsky tactic of speaking every day because his mission is to control the media.

      God help us all!
