First Lady Michelle Obama sports $42,150 Katie Decker diamond cuffs. Does Michelle get the fact that she is the first lady of the United States where there is an unemployment rate over 9% and millions of Americans are out of work and not a jet-setting fashion model? Obviously not. Is this the image that Michelle Obama really wants to present to “We the People”? Sorry, but no matter what party is in office, with an economic situation like what is taking place in the US, no first lady should be dressing so lavishly as if she thinks she is Marie Antoinette
The Obama empathy of the unemployed, out of work and food stamp recipients
That was no ordinary bling on the wrist of First Lady Michelle Obama at the DNC fundraiser in New York Tuesday night. Those fancy diamond cuffs were the creation of 23-year-old Katie Decker, whose namesake jewelry line has been making a serious splash since her graduation from Texas A&M two years ago.
If you’ve been saving your nickels and dimes, the cuffs are available locally at Judith Ann Jewels. The First Lady wore Katie’s Lotus cuff priced at $15,000 with 2.9 carats of diamonds, her Gothic cuff at $15,350 with 2.17 carats in diamonds and the Quatrefoil bracelet at $11,800 with 1.73 carats in diamonds.
Should we expect anything any different from the wife of the “Middle class” warrior. These two might as well live it up while they can, get all the perks, vacations and golf out of their present situation, because as of the 2012 election, Barack Obama will be added to the first time filers of unemployment benefits.

Honestly, I don’t mind Michelle—but I really do miss Laura Bush.
She has wider shoulders than he does.
Does the First Lady own that jewelry? I don’t think so. She is a walking advertisement for Katie Deckers line of jewelry. If Katie gets orders because of the publicity she will probably have to employ another jewelry maker or two thus helping to increase the number of employed in the country and improving Rick Perrys job numbers.. It might not mean anything to you but to the people she hires it will mean the world.
Supporting a 23-year-old Houston jeweler, at no cost to the country. But this is a bad thing, because… because… it’s OBAMA!

SM: Hardly … Barack and Michelle need to work on their optics and their empathy. Sorry, when an economy is bad as it is you do not go around flaunting oppulence like your are King Louis and Marie Antoinette. These two sad sacks cannot support middle class Americans, but Michelle can do this.

Do we know for sure that Michelle Obama owns this piece of jewelry? And why are you (the writer) getting bent out of shape because of what ALL of the rich politicians are wearing, riding in, vacationing at? THAT’S WHAT THEY DO! I have to agree w/Mike, this young designer will have an increase in sales which in turn will have to employ more people, which is something WE AMERICANS would like to see and hear about. Michelle Obama is an embarrassment of a first lady having no empathy for the millions of unemployed, those that have had mortgage foreclosures and the record number of Americans on food stamps and in poverty. These two will be tossed out of the WH in 2012 and not soon enough.

#7–The incident I remember clearly, is directly after they took Office, Michelle wore the $600.00 designer sneakers to a homeless shelter to hand out meals.
Ah, the irony is rich. I personally like Mrs. Obama’s style–and like many First Ladies before her—she is free to show that in public. Just seems to me she should think things out a little more before making some of the choices she does–they send the wrong message.
Remember the near Heart Attack the public had over Nancy Reagan’s China? Come on now people, leave them all alone. They are in a unique position and their choices are there own. Unless they are DIRECTLY affecting the welfare of the American Public—back off!
