Barack Obama to the Little People … Let Them Eat Cake … Spend, Spend, Spend

In a time of a recession should Barack Obama and the White House really be increasing Obama_wine_glassentertainment spending? That is exactly what they are doing. Do as I say, not as I do.

So as you are told to cut back to make ends meet, the Obama White House kicks up the entertainment. All this while as the Gateway Pundit states, Hope & Change– Dow Dips Below 7000… First Time Since ’97. So much for those failed GWB years. Obama’s policies have caused markets and investors to run fleeing for the hills. The end result, making our economy worse. The markets are not the MSM … as PJ Media points out, “Stock Market to Obama: I’m Just Not That Into You”

Nice to know that the Obama’s are having a wonderful time while most Americans can’t even afford to take the family to the theater any more.

An AP article says that even some Democrats today joined the Republicans in criticizing the “soak-the-rich” policies that seem to be in vogue now in D.C.

An article in The Wall Street Journal pointed out that not only do the wealthy pay the lion’s share of taxes (which seems to make sense), they also are among the prime donors to charity.

So tax them more, and see the flow of money to charity dry up.

Incidentally, in today’s Wall Street Journal (in my jaundiced opinion, one of the few papers worth reading), a lot of biting letters were addressed to Congress about the hypocrisy in lambasting businessmen for private jets and other things that Congress benefits from just as much.

Except that Congress gets them courtesy of Joe Taxpayer.

One letter had what I think is an excellent idea: any company receiving bailout money should be prohibited from making political contributions.

I’m not holding my breath, though.

“let them eat cake”, that’s the same song pelosi sang while american workers were deciding whether to buy food for their kids or gas for their cars when gas was over $4.00 a gallon. look at the bright side. the american spirit has gotten us through a hell of a lot worse than the next 3 yrs. and ll months, and then the repubs will be back to straighten things out.

While our rich Government Employees are throwing high-on-
      the-hog parties with our children’s and grandchildren’s
money, the rest of us must scale back just to survive. My
suggestion is to be satisfied with simple Tea Parties in your
living room. This is a great time to chill out and discuss
worldly problems with neighbors. Thoughtful reasoning over
hot cups of tea tends to produce informed plans for the future
both near and long range. Alliances formed during these
trying times can lead to coordinated solutions.

Tea also has a reasonable level of caffeine which can wipe
the cobwebs away and prepare people to take action. Wide
awake folks are prone to recall who is really in charge of
      this Country.

Is that your copy of ‘Atlas Shrugged’? May I borrow it
      this weekend?
