Leave it the the Canadians to treat an unrepentant terrorist like one should treat an unrepentant terrorist, eh. Far be it from Ayers to apologize for his past terrorist acts. Instead he remained in hiding during the election and emerged like a cockroach from the wall following Obama’s win to cash in on his book deal. A funny thing happened on the way to the forum, Bill Ayers, the unrepentant former Weather Underground terrorist was turned back at the Canadian border.
An American education professor, one of the founders of a radical 1960s group known as the Weather Underground, which was responsible for a number of bombings in the United States in the early 1970s, was turned back at the Canadian border last night.
Dr. William Ayers, a professor of education at the University of Illinois-Chicago and a leader in educational reform, was scheduled to speak at the Centre for Urban Schooling at University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. But that appearance has now been temporarily cancelled.
“I don’t know why I was turned back,” Ayers said in an interview this morning from Chicago. “I got off the plane like everyone else and I was asked to come over to the other side. The border guards reviewed some stuff and said I wasn’t going to be allowed into Canada. To me it seems quite bureaucratic and not at all interesting … If it were me I would have let me in. I couldn’t possibly be a threat to Canada.”
As QandO stated, an unrepentant terrorist who wishes they had done more actually questions why a country might find issue with him? QandO says “it just smacks of cosmic justice”, we at Scared Monkeys call it Karma baby.
Once a terrorist, always a terrorist, Jeff – at least until the terrorist renounces his previous actions. That’s something Billy boy has never done. Until that happens, we really don’t know what he’s likely to do, do we? And he can’t ever call himself a former terrorist until he does.
Ayers’s lawyer says this is an issue of “academic freedom.” No, it’s the right of a sovereign country to deem who is considered a danger and allowed in and who is not. Sorry Bill, but not everyone has forgotten what you did and refused to renounce. Not everyone has to give you a free pass, there are consequences to your past actions.

The assimilation between Ayers & the common Cockroach is a good one….& Ayers says,

Anyway, good for Canada! We should remember, too, that Britain last summer refused to admit Martha Stewart. It seems that to the British, her conviction for stock fraud and her serving jail time overshadowed the fact that she has been on TV.
In the United States, of course, being a celebrity is not only a be-all and end-all … it also erases any negative factors.
Apparently this is not true everywhere. Sadly, the day when celebrity status isn’t the alpha and omega of all things appears to be far from our horizon here.
How likely is it that EVERYONE is going to be in Washington D.C. tomorrow, and Bill is trying to hit the border ~!??
Sounds to me like DC wasn’t going to let him in either, so, to make a cover, he heads for the border.
Well, I say GOOD for Canada.
You can’t cross the border if you have prior DUI’s, owe back child support, or have any kind of a police record.
So, maybe he should have scheduled something for the southern border.
He may have been able to pull a “Taco Bell” there with no problems at all.
They don’t want him poisoning their childrens minds.

wanna talk about Canada well theres not that much difference except free health care, we shot each other less and our media does not go on about “how god damm great our nation is” we know ours is pretty good.We also dont have a place like Florida eh ,Disney and murder,people jumping out of windows,cruise ships,whats up with that?And why cant they find people to look for a little black boy thats missing f-cking shame.

How is it that Canada has outsmarted and manuevered the United States.
i wouldn’t give them too much credit. this is the same country that allows hamas to gather as a recognized group & has even chosen to allow muslim clerics to act as judges in some areas.
