Beth Holloway Speaks to Students in Alabama … Teens Please Be Cautious, Be Aware … The Legacy of Natalee Holloway

Beth Holloway’s love for her daughter and the Legacy of Natalee Holloway …

With all of the stories recently in the news regarding the latest murderous exploits of Joran Van der Sloot, the little Dutch boy who was accused and was the prime suspect in the death and disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba in 2005 … there is no better time than Beth Holloway to continue her campaign to urge teenagers to be cautious.

Sadly, the Natalee Holloway story and now the Stephany Flores one shoudl be a reminder to all teens, tweens and 20 something year olds to use their heads and be very cautious of those around you. Beth Holloway spoke yesterday at the Lions Club of Alabama High School Leadership Forum in Troy, AL.  Beth Holloway stated that the best way that she can honor her daughter and  the legacy of Natalee Holloway is to warn individuals of the real dangers that exists … “It’s too late for Natalee, it’s too late for me, but it’s not too late for you,” she said. “The best thing I can do to honor her is bring up safety issues to people like you.”

“My daughter, Natalee, would be 23, and she had big plans out of high school like you all,” Holloway said. “What happened to my family could happen to anyone in this room. Any of you could be my child, and your parents could be me.”

Natalee, a graduate from Mountain Brook High School near Birmingham, disappeared on May 30, 2005, on the last day of her high school graduation trip to Aruba.

Holloway vividly remembers the days leading up to the trip and the final hours she spent with her daughter, including the discussions the two had regarding safety.

“She was of legal age to be in the night clubs there, (so) I reminded her to be careful,” Holloway recalled. “Before Natalee left, we discussed certain issues that I was thinking about. I reminded her to watch out and that most people were there to have a good time and relax, but some were not. On the way to the airport, we went through the checklist. We as parents want to make sure our children have what they need. I watched her silhouette disappear into the doorway, and then it was completely dark.”

Just a few days later, when Natalee was supposed to return home from the trip, Holloway received a phone call that would haunt her the rest of her life.

We all know and saw what would happen in Aruba and the lack of real commitment and corruption by the Aruban authorities to find answers and justice for Natalee. Actually, the investigation was corrupt as Hell! The nepotism and cronyism displayed in Aruba allowed the three prime suspects last seen with Natalee Holloway to never be charged in the crime. Flash forward five years later and we are presented with Joran van der Sloot murdering yet another girl, this time in Peru.

Beth Holloway provides a word of warning to individuals of any age, take responsibility, do not have a false sense of security, no mater where you are … BE AWARE!

… Holloway said they need to be aware in all social settings of the dangers that are present.

“It’s now your responsibility to look out for yourself,” she said. “Whether traveling to the mall or out of the country, you’re the only one that can protect yourself from dangerous situations.”

Beth, my sister has 3 beautiful daughters. Like you, my sister would have continued to dig a hole in that island until it sunk in search of one of her children. I think that is why I have followed this case so closely for all this time. It should never have happened. But that it did, it should never have gone without resolution given the obvious course of events that could not be hidden, even if they were fraudulently denied.

Beth if you are reading this there is one very important thing I would like to say to you.

Please do not in any way allow yourself to even think for one millisecond that you are accountable for Joran’s self destruction.

God knows what he is doing even if we are not in agreement with the way he is doing it!

I pray every day that you get your answers soon.

I hope your son is doing well.

I wish you the very best with the Natalee Holloway Foundation & Mayday 360

      Natalee would be proud!

Beth, your heartfelt compassion for others, and the depth of your goodness will overcome the depraved indifference and evil in Aruba.
They will not silence your precious child.
They will not crush her precious voice.

Your beautiful daughter, Natalee is in the hearts of mothers all across America, and perhaps around the world.

May you find Natalee’s precious spirit rising up through the lives of children and families across America and beyond, whose lives you will touch through your generous spirit and sharing Natalee’s heartfelt story.

Her spirit lives within our hearts, and no one, nor anything will ever crush the power of her spirit, her precious voice, her painful truths, her ability to transform lives through courage and hope, and through the transformative power of your love joined to her!

Even now, she rises up to be heard.
And we will carry her voice with you, Beth.
We will hold her forever in our hearts!

May God bless you, Dave and your family.
      God bless Natalee.

I’ve just watched Geraldo. He reported that Joran has fired his lawyer. I’m not buying that…I think his lawyer quit after he got to Peru and saw the evidence. He knows the s.o.b. is guilty. Finally someone from Aruba with a conscience!

    11. brie. on June 14th, 2010 4:43 am

Joran already has a lawyer in Peru, he wanted a lawyer from Aruba concerning Natalee. His lawyer went to Peru to talk to them about allowing Joran to leave prison and go to Aruba to discuss the disappearance of Natalee. That obviously isn’t going to happen.

      Beth,

For 5 sickening years I’ve read the cruel, classless, and disgusting posts against you and in defense of the murderous liar jvds, both here and at other sites.

Throughout this nightmare you have carried yourself with a courage and dignity that most of us will never approach, and you have been an inspiration to millions around the world.

My thoughts and prayers have been with you and Natalee since this horrible story broke, and will continue to be. Thank you Beth for all you do, and may God bless you and your family.

Beth, you are such a pretty woman and when I think of all the pain you have experienced, I appreciate your beauty even more because no bitterness shows on your face, and you have turned pain into a way to help others…I think it is called “the wounded healer”.

    16. Maggie on June 14th, 2010 8:01 pm

God Bless you Beth..you’ve been an inspiration to so many. She is a class act.

Each time i read about joran, these questions keep coming up in mind: what upbringing did he have? who are his parents? what went wrong that he is living like this? i just pity him. he must be very miserable. the crimes are too big for his age. what actually went wrong about him?

    18. Joyce on June 20th, 2010 2:32 pm

I feel no pity for JVDS – He’s a born sociopath possessed by demons – perhaps as result of the sins of his father. But he has made choices for which he will pay. Yes, he is a dead man walking and I just hope for beautiful Beth that he reveals Natalee’s location before his death. Love you, Beth

    19. Debbie on July 5th, 2010 12:56 pm
