Family of Fallen Soldier Sergeant Ryan David Jopek Told Barack “Me Too” Obama Not to Wear Their Son’s Bracelet … Barack Exploits Name Anyhow

Here is some more change you can believe in … Not only does Obama forget the name of the fallen soldiers bracelet he is wearing … but the family had told him to stop wearing it. Hey, Barack … if you are going to exploit a fallen soldier, maybe, just maybe you might want to commit that heros name to memory!

SICK … The exploitation of the sacrifice of one of America’s bravest so that Barack Obama can appear to care about the military. However, Obama promised a different kind of campaign … who knew that it meant not abiding by the family wishes of a fallen military hero.

For all those people that watched the first Presidential Debate and said that Obama won, maybe they would like to analyze the actual debate and whether what was said during the debate was truthful, or proper. Remember back on Friday night when Barack Obama played the “me too” candidate and said that he to wore a bracelet of a fallen soldier? If you have forgotten, then watch below. Sadly, Barack Obama forgot the name of the very soldier’s bracelet who he was wearing.

Barack Obama:

“Uh, Jim, uh, let me just make a point. I’ve got a bracelet, too. From Sgt., uh, uh… From the mother, uh, of Sgt. Ryan David Jopek… given to me in Green Bay… And she asked me can you please make sure that another mother isn’t going through what I am going through.”

How very sad that Barack Obama could not remember the name of the soldier that he was using to pander for votes. However, that appears to be the least of Obama’s ills toward this family.

ACTUALLY OBAMA THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS FAMILY TOLD YOU!

Actually, it turns out that the family of fallen Soldier Sergeant Ryan David Jopek told Barack Obama to stop wearing the bracelet months ago. It appears as though Obama has refused that plea.

Reported at News Busters Brian Jopek, the father of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek who tragically lost his life to a roadside bomb in Iraq has asked Barack Obama to stop wearing this son’s bracelet … yet Obama continues to do so while pandering for votes while using the sacrifice of their son for his campaign.

Radio host Glenn Moberg of the show “Route 51″ asked Mr. Jopek, a man who believes in the efforts in Iraq and is not in favor of Obama’s positions on the war, what he and his ex-wife think of Obama continually using their son’s name on the campaign trail.

Jopek began by saying that his ex-wife was taken aback, even upset, that Obama has made the death of her son a campaign issue. Jopek says his wife gave Obama the bracelet because “she just wanted Mr. Obama to know Ryan’s name.” Jopek went on to say that “she wasn’t looking to turn it into a big media event” and “just wanted it to be something between Barack Obama and herself.” Apparently, they were all shocked it became such a big deal.

Listen to the radio show HERE. (approx 10 minutes into show)

TRANSCRIPT

Brian Jopek: Because of some of the negative feedback she’s gotten on the Internet, you know Internet blogs, you know people accusing her of… or accusing Obama of trying to get votes doing it… and that sort of thing.

Radio Host Moberg: Yeah

Jopek: She has turned down any subsequent interviews with the media because she just didn’t want it to get turned into something that it wasn’t. She had told me in an email that she had asked, actually asked Mr. Obama to not wear the bracelet any more at any of his public appearances. Which I don’t think he’s…

Moberg: It has been a while since he’s brought it up.

Jopek: Right. But, the other night I was watching the news and he was on, uh, speaking somewhere and he was still wearing it on his right wrist. I could see it on his right wrist. So, that’s his own choice. I mean that’s something Barack Obama, that’s a choice that he continues to wear it despite Tracy asking him not to… Because she is a Barack Obama supporter and she didn’t want to do anything to sabotage his campaign, so, if he’s still wearing the bracelet then, uh, that of course is entirely up to him.

Moberg: Maybe there’s a difference between wearing it and making a point to bring it up in your speeches?

Here is an interesting thought from Wake Up America. Here is a bit of advice to family members of fallen heros to consider when you are being used and exploited by political campaigns. I hardly doubt your sons and daughters enlisted for military service so that some one could win an election. For the love of God honor your children’s memories the way they saw fit, not to serve for beliefs.

Now the mother, Tracy, is in a spot, because people will be asking her about this. Since she is an Obama supporter, I wonder if she will give him some political cover and say she changed her mind in the last months?

Would he go as far as to ask her to do that?

UPDATE I: Hot Air, Did Jopek Family Ask Obama to Stop Wearing Bracelet?

UPDATE II: Michelle Malkin … Uhhhhh: Family doesn’t want Obama wearing troop bracelet Updated

UPDATE III: Red State – “Bracelet Wars”

Whether Obama was allowed to or was told not to wear the fallen soldiers bracelet one thing is for certain … to wear the bracelet and make mention of Ryan David Jopek is to remember that fallen soldier. To Obama and the MSM that would mean to actually remember the name of the soldier who you are using to exploit during your campaign.

Nice … exploiting a military family.

Obama’s vision of being a Commander & Chief.

Asked not to do something, yet doing it any how.

There’s Obama you can believe in.

When a family of a fallen soldiers asks you to stop doing something and you continue to exploit that hero … sorry in my book that makes you less than zero.

Obama should be completely ashamed. He could care less about our military and the fine people serving in it.

He obviously does not respect them as he cannot respect their wishes to stop doing something.

It’s about like this one too.. no false or misleading ads about Obama or else?

JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on news reports that have exposed plans by U.S. Senator Barack Obama to use Missouri law enforcement to threaten and intimidate his critics.

“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.

“What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.

“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights.

      http://governor.mo.gov/cgi-bin/coranto/viewnews.cgi?id=EkkkVFulkpOzXqGMaj&style=Default+News+Style&tmpl=newsitem

and then Obama puts out this one..

An Obama ad implies that a Pennsylvania plant sent jobs overseas and says that McCain is to blame. That’s wrong.

An Obama-Biden ad ties McCain to the closing of a plant in Pennsylvania. Its assertions are misleading and false:

The ad says McCain “sold … out” workers whose factory closed. But there was nothing McCain, or anyone could have done. The factory was making parts for televisions that are becoming obsolete. The company in question has called the ad “misleading.”

It implies jobs were sent to China by saying that workers were paid to “disassemble the plant and ship the equipment to China” and that McCain “supported tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas.” But the only things shipped to China were the parts.

It’s misleading to imply that McCain’s support for the tax code in question is to blame for companies sending jobs overseas, as we’ve said before. The Obama-Biden campaign refers to a dynamic of U.S. tax code that allows companies to defer paying corporate income taxes on money they earn overseas and leave overseas. But the relationship to lost jobs is tenuous.

The Obama-Biden campaign is running an ad that tells the story of the closing of a Corning plant in Pennsylvania and alleges Sen. John McCain was involved. But this story is a tall tale.

Sen. Barack Obama earlier used the Corning plant as grist for mailers against Sen. Hillary Clinton during their heated primary contest. The liberal Talking Points Memo said then that the implication in the attack was wrong. We don’t see any difference this time around.

The ad says a Corning manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania closed and “hundreds lost their jobs. Then the workers are rehired to disassemble the plant and ship the equipment to China.” That’s all correct. But then the ad goes astray by saying that “Washington sold them out with the help of people like John McCain.”

When the plant closed in 2004, it wasn’t politicians or trade practices that “sold them out.” Rather, the culprit is that unforgiving foe: new technology. The plant was closed because it made cathode ray tubes, which are used in conventional televisions. But the cathode ray tube is a dying technology, and Corning no longer makes it. Conventional TVs are being displaced by new plasma and LCD televisions as the prices of these products decrease.

The Corning company itself is displeased with the ad, because of its implication that American jobs were sent abroad.

Soldier’s mother “ecstatic” about Obama’s bracelet

By DINESH RAMDE | Associated Press Writer

      4:28 PM CDT, September 28, 2008

MILWAUKEE – The mother of a Wisconsin soldier who died in Iraq says she was “ecstatic” during Friday’s debate when Senator Barack Obama mentioned the bracelet she gave him in honor of her son.

Tracy Jopek of Merrill told The Associated Press on Sunday she was honored that he remembered Sgt. Ryan David Jopek, who was killed in 2006 by a roadside bomb.

She criticized Internet reports that suggested Obama exploited her son for political purposes.

She acknowledges e-mailing the campaign in February asking that Obama not mention her son in speeches or debates. But she says Obama’s mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Senator John McCain said a soldier’s mother gave him a bracelet.

Jopek says Obama’s comment rightfully suggested there’s more than one viewpoint on the war.

Considering the fact that OSAMA Barack SADDAM HUSSEIN Obama DOES NOT SUPPORT our military and the war on terrorism, the mother of the fallen soldier should have NEVER given the bracelet to him to begin with! It’s pathetic Obama couldn’t even remember the soldier’s name :-(

For that matter, Obama twice got McCain’s first name wrong.

However, whatever we think of the ideas and/or personalities of the two presidential candidates, I think that Obama came off better in this first debate simply because he sounded more like a debater.

He seemed highly nervous when making the first remarks, but recovered. It was obvious that his strategy was to keep linking McCain with Bush, and that got a trifle tiring.

However, McCain said over and over again that “Senator Obama just doesn’t understand,” and I thought the repeated use of this phrase sounded more like a stump speech on the campaign trail than the improvised response that one expects in a debate.

Also, towards the end McCain seemed to be dragging in too many anecdotes about past experience. His strategy, of course, is to emphasize his experience in government, but some of them sounded like irrelevant ramblings.

And I do think that Obama’s responses were simply sharper than McCain’s. Again, I’m not saying that one is right and the other wrong … but purely from the point of view of a debate, I thought that Obama came off better.

That is not the essential skill of a president, of course.

    15. Richard on September 28th, 2008 8:43 pm

To me, the low point of the whole thing was when they got bogged down in details about Henry Kissinger’s views … it seemed to go nowhere, and was more like petty squabbling than anything else.

      “He said this.”
      “Did not.”
      “Did too.”
      “Did not.”

Soldier’s mom defends Obama’s mention of bracelet

MILWAUKEE – After Tracy Jopek gave Sen. Barack Obama a bracelet in honor of her son who was killed in Iraq, she asked Obama not to mention the bracelet on the campaign trail.

But Jopek told The Associated Press on Sunday that she’s satisfied with how Obama discussed it during last week’s presidential debate.

Jopek gave Obama the bracelet at a Green Bay rally in February. It has the name of her son, Sgt. Ryan David Jopek, and the date the 20-year-old was killed by a roadside bomb, Aug. 2, 2006. “All gave some — He gave all,” it says.

This family and the father has told Obama to knoock it off and stop referencing their son’s name. THAT IS A FACT!

The fact that now the mother feels the need to defend Obama in spight of their previous wishes is really sick. Nice to see that the mother has to act with class, instead of Obama.

      Doesn’t that speak volumes.

    20. Fred on September 29th, 2008 6:05 am

      This is what I see.
She asked Obama not to bring it up again AFTER the debate. He hasn’t.

He has used this bracelet once. McCain uses his often, so often it’s becoming cliche.

She is more than a little embarrassed by the national exposure. People who are not expecting to be in the media spotlight often are nervous and not willing to talk. Look at Palin after all.

This is a tempest in a teapot. I have seen word from plenty of military upset at McCain for politicizing them and their service.

By fretting over this, pushing for the media to run with it as a story, YOU contribute to growing the media expoitation of this woman and her son. Indeed this very blog story is a shameless exploitation of a Mothers grief to get a political cheap shot at Obama.

Grow up and focus on real issues, not creating political egoboosters for your self.

    21. brie. on September 29th, 2008 7:14 am

Obama is so arrogant, selfish and self-centered…the family asked him a while back to please not wear the bracelet and not to mention her sons name on the campaign trail…but he did it anyway…showing no decency or respect for Sergeant Ryan’s folks…

      YOU CANNOT TRUST OBAMA…

That was a very personal issue between the mother and Obama and it should of stayed that way…if he wants to do something for Sergeant Ryan, then salute the American Flag…

    22. Brenda from Virginia on September 29th, 2008 7:41 am

      “I’ve got a bracelet too!”

Remember the commercial where the kids are all singing “my dog’s better than your dog?” According to who? What was Obama trying to say? The soilder represented by the band he was wearing was in some way had more significance than the one represented by McCain?

My son and I both laughed out loud during the debate when Obama said that. THEN, we were amazed he had to look at the bracelet in order to remember the name. We were both disgusted at that obvious MISuse of what the bracelet was supposed to be representative of. Bravery, honor, selfless sacrifice. I don’t see a single one of those traits present in Obamanation….

    23. brie. on September 29th, 2008 7:42 am

He reached an even newer level of low, I can use this for my own personal gain…he had to look at the bracelet because he didn’t even remember his name….but I can use this in my speech…to hell with what the family wants….

Obama doesn’t like America, he doesn’t like the military, who is he kidding!!! Al-Qaeda is sitting and watching…he is the weakest link and doesn’t possess any real skills or experience to lead this country…

Uh, is a big word in his vocabulary…

The mother of a Wisconsin soldier who died in Iraq says she was “ecstatic” when Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama mentioned during Friday’s debate the bracelet she gave him in honor of her son.

Tracy Jopek of Merrill told The Associated Press on Sunday she was honored that Obama remembered Sgt. Ryan David Jopek, who was killed in 2006 by a roadside bomb.

Jopek criticized Internet reports suggesting Obama, D-Ill., exploited her son for political purposes.

“I don’t understand how people can take that and turn it into some garbage on the Internet,” she said.

Jopek acknowledged e-mailing the Obama campaign in February asking that the presidential candidate not mention her son in speeches or debates. But she said Obama’s mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Sen. John McCain, the Republican nominee, said a soldier’s mother gave him a bracelet.

“I’ve got a bracelet, too, from Sergeant _ from the mother of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek, given to me in Green Bay,” Obama said during the debate. “She asked me, ‘Can you please make sure another mother is not going through what I’m going through?’ No U.S. soldier ever dies in vain because they’re carrying out the missions of their commander in chief. And we honor all the service that they’ve provided.”

Jopek says Obama’s comment rightfully suggested there’s more than one viewpoint on the war.

    26. Rob on September 29th, 2008 8:10 am

Personally, I don’t like McCain, but I revile Obama. I’m a conservative and both of these guys do not meet the standards I have for my political candidates.

If you recall, Obama’s world tour of America haters included not one but TWO stops to see wounded soldiers in Germany. Both visits WERE CANCELED WHEN OBAMA WAS NOT GRANTED PERMISSION TO ENGAGE A PHOTO OP. The Pentagon has a clear policy – no cameras no matter who you are.

      Obama = symbolism over substance.

If I were the parent of the soldier fallen hero Sergeant Ryan David Jopek, I would rip that bracelet from his wrist.

Obama doesn’t have the guts to do what’s right with the memory of a fallen hero. He’s a coward in my book.

This country needs men and women of honor, not cowards that will surrender our culture, morals and values.

Let’s all hope Barry “I got a Bracelet too” Hussein Obama will only be a bad memory shortly.

Even though this soldiers mother was “ecstatic” about Obama wearing the BRACELET it doesn’t really mean a thing…IT IS A NON-ISSUE.

      EXAMPLES of REAL ISSUES:
      Healthcare
Finding and eliminating the people responible for 9/11 (which has NOTHING to do with the IRAQ WAR)
TAXES (McCain wants to keep GW Bush’s tax breaks on the wealthy, Obama will cut taxes on those making less than 250,000 year
McCain has never and doesn’t know how to use a computer.
McCains age: Will he even make it till 2011 when the next president would be sworn in?

THERE ARE A THOUSAND OTHER ISSUES TO TALK ABOUT THAT COULD MAKE A SUBSTANTIAL DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIVES, A STUPID BRACELT MADE IN CHINA, OR FLAG PIN, ETC IS THE LAST THING WE SHOULD BE DISCUSSING.

Isn’t it a personal thing to give someone your son’s bracelet? Where, in that scenario, does the internet, the press or any of you have a say in it? Obviously, this woman was chastised, threatened and accused of unspeakable things because of something that she did, from her heart.

Soooo many of you are just like those that chastised her… stuck – with your noses in her business and scaring not only her, but everyone within an ear shot. Thing with you, Brie, is that if you said any of the things that you feel free to say here, in public, you’d have the shit beaten out of you…

People have rights and as long as they don’t interfere with the rights of others they can exercise them. But for people like you to attack a woman who, by her own choice shares something precious with the man of her picking, is deplorable.

You speak out both sides of your mouth, but say the same thing:

YOU are in a race war.

YOU would love to kill some ‘niggers’

and YOU are a danger to yourself and society, as a whole.

And one can only question why someone as intelligent as Red would encourage you to make a fool of yourself AND him by enticing your emotions.

You are the one drinking the kool-aid… not the rest of America…and you hold on to every word, as if it was the truth, when all it is, is ‘half-truths’ and SPIN.

      You are a FOOL!

And I hope that anyone that reads your comments will take this into account and look upon you with pity, instead of pushing your buttons and encouraging you; for, I fear, YOU are the epidome of a psychopath!

      .

      Good Day!

Do we have Obama the sociopath???? He has all the characteristics and so does his supporters!!!!

    37. brie. on September 30th, 2008 3:25 pm

Obama…manipulative and conning..they never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving rights behaviors as permissible, they are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely a victim to be used….Callousness and lack of empathy..unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them….WE NOW HAVE OBAMA THE SOCIOPATH!!!!!
