US Justice Department Tells Ferguson, MO Police to Stop Wearing Bracelets in Support of Officer Darren Wilson

Who the hell does the US Department of Justice think they are in telling a local police department not to where a bracelet, it would appear that the Obama and still Eric Holder DOJ has not heard of Freedom of Speech!!!

Maybe it is the Department of Justice that needs to be investigated for civil rights violations? In a letter to Ferguson, Missouri Police Chief Tom Jackson, the United States Justice Department ordered that the local police department officers not wear a bracelet in support of Darren Wilson, the officer who shot 18 year old Michael Brown on August 9, 2014. HUH? The bracelets some police officers were wearing read , “I am Darren Wilson” Who the hell does the DOJ think they are? They have no authority or jurisdiction to tell the Ferguson police what they can and cannot wear. But a gutless state and local police department is allowing the Feds to push them around and have gone along with the ban. UNREAL. The DOJ is supposed to be running a civil rights investigation into the Ferguson PD, I guess we know just how bias that report will be.

This is what tyranny looks like America. When those responsible for enforcing civil rights rights are the very one’s breaking them, we have a real problem.

I am Darren Wilson

The U.S. Justice Department asked the Ferguson, Missouri, Police Department on Friday to order its officers not to wear bracelets in support of the white policeman who shot to death an unarmed black teenager last month, sparking protests.

In a letter to Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson, the Justice Department said residents had told its investigators that officers policing protest sites on Tuesday in Ferguson were seen wearing “I am Darren Wilson” bracelets.

The Justice Department has opened an investigation into the shooting and the police treatment of protesters, which critics say was unduly harsh.

The letter said the bracelets had “upset and agitated” people and “reinforce the very ‘us versus them’ mentality that many residents of Ferguson believe exists.”

EXIT QUESTION: Do you think the DOJ would have a problem is the Ferguson police wore “I am Michael Brown” bracelets?

The Mayor and Chief of Police need to tell the Just-us department to get back to DC where they belong.

Holder and department are the racists in this case. All they did was to stir the emotions of a very emotional portion of society.

The President of the United States reinforced that mentality at the UN General Assemby when the he defined the Ferguson incident as racial. The ongoing investigation has not determined that outcome. A court of law has not determined that outcome. No charges have been brought against Darren Wilson.

At the UN, Obama invokes Ferguson: ‘We welcome the scrutiny of the world
      September 24, 2014

President Obama invoked the unrest in Ferguson, Mo., Wednesday, telling diplomats gathered for the UN General Assembly that in the United States “we have our own racial and ethnic tensions.”

“I realize that America’s critics will be quick to point out that at times we too have failed to live up to our ideals; that America has plenty of problems within our own borders. This is true,” Obama said. “In a summer marked by instability in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, I know the world also took notice of the small American city of Ferguson, Missouri – where a young man was killed, and a community was divided. So yes, we have our own racial and ethnic tensions. And like every country, we continually wrestle with how to reconcile the vast changes wrought by globalization and greater diversity with the traditions that we hold dear.”

The United States is built on a constitution that allows freedom of speech that impowers individual to practice rights. The DOJ is in violating the constitution. It’s a double standard situation when the Mike Brown’s protesters are practicing their rights in freedom of speech. There is no difference in Darren Wilsons’ supporters when freedom of speech comes in a form of a bracelet. By allowing the DOJ to demand the removal of the bracelets from the officers shows a department that is politically a dictatorship and not a democracy. Letting the DOJ slide by with this action will only led to further violations of the constitution. The Obama Adminstration only wants to protect African Americans by using liberal news media to influences viewers that their actions are lawfully justified. African Americans have gone too far in this society by using what is known as the “race card.” During the Trayvon Martin trial, an African Americans have mentioned the term, ” creepy ass white cracker,” is not a racially term towards white individuals. African Americans are allowed special privileges such as playing the knock-out game, racially profanities, and double standard actions. The mainstream media failed to report crimes that are black on white crimes. Black cops have shot unarmed whites before, but the media will never report anything. A former US Marine was beaten by a mob of blacks in Mississippi to severe injuries, and the black police chief claims it’s not a hate crime. Even when witnesses head racially slurs toward the white Marine. If we allow these actions to continue, then while constitutional rights will no longer soon exist. The US government will call for martial law due to its action of war provocations between blacks and whites.

My understanding is that the order to discontinue wearing the bracelets as well as unobscuring name tags came from the Ferguson Police Dept at the recommendation of the DOJ as it was in violation of the FPD’s very policy.

SM: That may be, but it is not the Fed’s place to impose any policy, it is up to the department whether they want to or not. How many times do police officers wear bracelets of missing persons or cancer awareness? They are supposedly against regs too.

holder is definitely trying to save face….it’s already ugly, so give it up!!!! Retire, disappear and take your in the gutter attitude with you.

@SM, I would assume that bracelets advocating cancer awareness and such would be acceptable contengent on department approval whareas political endorsements and such wouldn’t. But again, my understanding is that what the DOJ pointed out was indirect violation of the FPD’s handbook.

Tucked away in the DOJ’s functions language states that it is to“ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic” and to “ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans.” Gray area? Perhaps. Could make for some good discussion.

Another issue is that when when states accept federal funding for their city’s police department, they and the cities agree to adhere to certain guidelines for those funds.

SM: It may be in their handbook, but the DOJ has no jurisdiction over a local matter like that. It would be like the DOJ sending you a letter that your grass is too tall because it violated your HOA policies.

[...] outset of this story, there was no evidence to support the trumped up charges. Remember when the DOJ told Ferguson police officers they could not wear bracelets in support of officer Wilson? Support for an officer that was guilty [...]
