Natalee Holloway Investigation: The Witness was Afraid to Come Forward & Aware that Paulus van der Sloot had Powerful Connections in the Prosecutors Office.

A 48 year old unidentified witness comes forward in the case of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. He states that he did not come forward sooner because he was afraid. He was afraid of the consequences of his statements and the fact that Paulus van der Sloot had powerful connections in the Prosecutors Office. Seems that the witnesses suspicions were confirmed by the fact that Hans Mos refuses to do anything and is more concerned with discrediting the witness than listening to him. The cover up continues as a witness who has passed two polygraph tests is not considered credible by the prosecutor. Credibility is hardly a word that should even be uttered by LE or prosecution in Aruba.

However the witness was afraid to come forward to the Police and local Prosecutor, because of the prejudice in the Prosecutor Office, which is alive and growing each day.

The witness was afraid of the consequences of his statement, since he was well aware that Paulus van der Sloot has powerful connections in the Prosecutors Office.

Key witness reveals what happened 4:05 am at Monserat
Paulus and Joran were “looking” for something on the side of the road

ORANJESTAD(AAN):  Last week, DIARIO published the latest information regarding the key witness, who came forward to disclose everything he witnessed on May 2005 from his house, which is situated in the neighborhood of the Nacional Soccer field, close to the Monserat pond.

However the witness was afraid to come forward to the Police and local Prosecutor, because of the prejudice in the Prosecutor Office, which is alive and growing each day.

He did give a statement to the Prosecutor, but to certain extent. The more important and key details he revealed to the American investigators.
The American investigators listened very carefully to his story and immediately felt that he was telling the truth. They then asked him if he was willing to go to the States and pass a polygraph test.

The witness was tested by John S. Swartz, a renowned professional in this field, and the test revealed that he was telling the truth! Finally shedding some light on the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in 2005.

Last week, after months of following the new developments, DIARIO published the first part of the witness’ statement. This statement that was already in Prosecutor Mos’s hands.

DIARIO opted to wait until after the FBI sent the results of the polygraph test and their investigation to Holland, before publishing the second part of the statement, considering that Holland would send a copy to Aruba.

THE WITNESS’ STATEMENT

On May 30th, 2005 he was sleeping in his room; when he was awaken by the alarming sound of barking dogs. He opened his eyes and checked his alarm clock; it was 4:05 am.

He got up and listening to where the barking was coming from, he went in the living room and peeked thru the window to find out why the dogs sounded so alarmed.
Under the street light, he saw someone walking towards his house, from the Nacional Soccer field, close to the Monserat pond and hotel area.

While the person was walking under another street light, he could clearly see the person. It was undoubtedly a man, notably tall, slim, Caucasian, with short and dark hair, relatively young and he looked like a Dutch citizen.

He could see his profile and one side of his face. He was wearing a red t-shirt and light colored pants. The witness noticed by the way the person was limping, that he was missing his right sneaker or shoe. He also noted that the person was breathing extremely hard, as if he just had been running very hard for a long time. His chest was heaving.

Aruba_Joran_Sneakers

WET AND MUDDY CLOTHES

The witness stated (and probably also in the lie-detector test), that the person clothes were wet and that he also saw a muddy stripe on his chest, more or less about 5 centimeters above his chest.

The muddy stripe on his chest clearly showed that he was completely wet.
At first glance, the witness though that the person maybe had been in a fight with someone, and he was running not to get beat up. But his face showed no bruises or blood.

But because he didn’t look back not even to check if someone might be following him and just kept walking fast with his head down, the witness thought he did something other that fighting.

The person walked past his house, and kept walking, until he was out of sight, and he never raised his head or looked back, and just kept walking in the hotel’s direction. This happened in about one minute.

NEW INFORMATION

After the witness saw the person walk past his house and was out of sight, he sat JoranBrianSimilarities4down in his living room for about 5 minutes. He then noticed a car driving slowly, coming from the hotel area. Behind the wheel was a middle-aged, Caucasian man. Next to him, the witness saw the young man that was walking past his house a few minutes earlier.

The witness said they were driving a red jeep, and that they were driving extremely slow. He stated to the American investigators that was clearly that the driver and the passenger were looking for something on the floor. He said that the car just keep going in the direction of the Monserat pond.

HE RECOGNIZED THE DRIVER

According to the witness, in the following weeks he recognized the young man as Joran van der Sloot, when his pictures started to circulate in the press, and that the disappearance of Natalee Holloway became an international media frenzy. He also recognized the driver as Paulus van der Sloot, Joran’s father. The witness stated that, that was everything he saw and that nothing more happened. The question in everyone mind is: What were Paulus and Joran looking for on that road? The fact that the witness passed the polygraph test and is telling the truth is enough to focus the attention on that.

Joran VDS and Paulas

Of course the public wants to know why this witness didn’t come forward in 2005.
The witness was afraid of the consequences of his statement, since he was well aware that Paulus van der Sloot has powerful connections in the Prosecutors Office. Paulus is a lawyer, and he was studying to become a judge.

Knowing that the justice system in Aruba is totally in Dutch hands, he felt compelled to keep his mouth shut. This went on for more than 2 years, and in the end of 2007, he felt the need to reveal what he saw that day from his house.

The witness hired a lawyer to defend him, because in such a complicated case, even the witness has to be prepared for any eventuality, and also for guidance.
Meanwhile American investigators, with the consent from local authorities, did a sonar test at the Monserat pond in the beginning of this year, when the water level was low.

DIARIO was informed that this test discovered 15 objects underwater, and that only 3 could be defined.

A polygraph (popularly referred to as a lie detector) is an instrument that measures and records several physiological responses such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration and skin conductivity while the subject is asked and answers a series of questions, on the theory that false answers will produce distinctive measurements. The polygraph measures physiological changes caused by the sympathetic nervous system during questioning. The 48 year old witness passed this test with flying colors, indicating that everything he saw that dawn, close to the Monserat pond, is true.

DIARIO presumes that the Prosecutor’s Office received this statement from Holland, and just in case they didn’t, they can read it today for free and begin to do their homework.

Everything is so crystal clear. There is no doubt as to who is involved and that foul play did happen. So when is someone going to break and give the whole story. It will be worth a lot of money, more than Paulus can pay. I know there are several people out there who know,,,just have to ask yourselves,,,do you want the money… well do you?

    2. JustmeT on September 16th, 2008 7:24 pm

WOW!! 2 Polygraphs? I do question why he would be sent to the states for a poly if they are not recognized as a tool on the island. I guess the question is who sent him as Mos more than likely wont touch it as per usual. Thattttt said.. I see a glimmer of hope!! But wont be holding my breath.
Also, is that an actual photo of Jorans missing K Swiss shoe?

    3. allank on September 16th, 2008 8:06 pm

Why would any person be worried about Paulus who runs and hides from the camera admitting he is guilty by his actions? It must be some ruthless people above him. Remember all the gruesome deaths that they were having or still having. They get primitive with people there.

      Hi, questions:
1-Yeah is that the actual pic or a recreation on Diario’s part?
2-Well, I guess in every crime there is always someone who saw something…I wonder if more than one person that evening saw something and now (hopefully) might feel compelled to come forward.
3-If the sonar detected several objects why then these objects were not taken out? Ehem, wait for Dompig to say it was ok? (yawn)
4-I am baffled here sitting thinking of this “untouchable” personna that is being portrayed for the Sloot, and then otoh the islanders don’t want them in the island nor Joran, because of this situation. And contrary to any other significant case covered right now (except Caylee’s), this NEVER drained this family financially. Which again, is so shocking and bizarre how these two missing persons-so many similarities!
5-Perhaps for Arubans this is a case of the “here we go again” but I believe if they want THESE MONKEYS off their backs then that they press for justice, action and resolution!

    5. whytegirl on September 16th, 2008 11:18 pm

On that prev. comment before mine, I believe (now) that this is so big and so widespread bet. Aruba, Holland and Venezuela/Colombia that I guess in order to get to these people the answer to this mystery starts in Holland and it >should< go from there.

Now for popquiz: IF this is the scenario and the fat lady sings in Holland, then can US DOJ/DOS or some judicial branch here can lasso these people to the States? I forgot if that was discussed way back then.

I assume that the Holloways are still offering the reward?? If so, maybe they should give this guy a partial reward, at least enough to cover his legal expenses. Maybe doing that would prompt others to come forward with additional information. They could give smaller rewards for verified information.

    9. Rusty Bridges on September 17th, 2008 6:49 am

Going back to look for the shoe? That explains the questions about it and also the deception about the size by jvds in the police interviews.

    10. crossbow on September 17th, 2008 7:17 am

What was Joan and Paulus looking for on May 30th, 2005 early in the morning?
Before I post my opinion; no one; especially Natalee would know just how corrupt the government and especially the Police could be.
IMO; they were looking for her debit card. I know Beth said Natalee did not have it with her.
But at that time since Joran and Deepak kept getting Ruth and Natalee confused and Joran may have seen a debit card; though not Natalee’s.
Natalee; “but I don’t even know these people”. What if she realized she was in trouble and purposely left her driver’s license and room key where they could be found?
Natalee thinking if they were found it would help the police in an investigation.
Joran and Paulus found the license and room keys but were not sure about a debit card. They had to find it, if one existed.
If they had Natalee’s license and room key finding the debit card would remove any evidence as to where Natalee had been taken.
      Think about this for a moment;
Why would Dennis Jacobs question Beth so exhaustively about where was Natalee’s debit card.
Dennis had to make sure that one did not exist and would not have to worry about evidence popping up later.
      Just MHO.

    11. crossbow on September 17th, 2008 8:01 am

Continuing my thoughts about the debit card.
What is the time line for when it was announced that one of the suspects confessed and were leading police to the scene, versus when Dennis Jabcobs was questioning Beth about Natalee’s debit card?
Could they actually have solved the case though reluctantly; or did Dennis finally know that no debit card existed and they could retract the suspects’ confession and continue the coverup???????????

    12. Richard on September 17th, 2008 9:04 am

Justine (#2) … I imagine that the purpose of the polygraphs, given in the U.S., was to convince whoever brought this guy here that he was telling the truth. Polygraphs aren’t legally admissible in Aruba, we’re told, but it’s necessary to have confidence in the word of someone who might be your key witness.

I hope that this guy’s identity is kept secret from Aruba. Given what we’ve seen over the last three years, who knows what might happen?

Now, here’s a question that I have … this guy says it was clear that PvdScum and Joran were looking for something on the side of the road.

If that was the case, then it would have been something dropped or thrown there earlier … meaning that they had brought Natalee along this same road before.

He was there, and I wasn’t … but I’m wondering if it’s possible that Joran was SHOWING something to PvdScum, or vice versa, and that is why the Jeep was being driven so slowly?

Of course, that question sheds no light at all on what it was being shown.

    13. Richard on September 17th, 2008 9:08 am

The name of Matty Apartments, located near the Lion’s Den and this pond, seems to be emerging more and more. Let’s keep it in mind.

    14. Susy Q on September 17th, 2008 10:07 am

      # 12 maybe they were looking for the shoe….. but I’m confused… I’ve read that Paulus, Joran and Natalee were all seen together at 4:00 am at a McDonalds.

    15. Jan on September 17th, 2008 10:08 am

So are the Aruban government still trying to block a search by Texas EquuSearch? Tim Miller told Hans Mos that it would be at “NO COST” to Aruba…. or, are they going ahead with the demolition?

    16. libby on September 17th, 2008 10:19 am

Guarantee they will go ahead with the excavation. It will be “an accident” just like when they covered the area of the landfill that was being searched. They had something to hide in the landfill and they have something to hide in the pond. They are scum.

    17. Miss-Underestimated on September 17th, 2008 10:55 am

Aruba doesn’t have the backbone to do anything with this informtion. That is why they block any search to have Natalee found.

Useless bunch of skins, I see another busy day on the beach, HUH.

    18. Sharon Chicago on September 17th, 2008 11:36 am

Paulus and Joran were probably looking for something Joran dropped…I bet his shoe
was sucked under in the mud from the pond,
where he put Natalee. Could he have lost
him watch in the pond or a ring too?

    19. Melissa on September 17th, 2008 12:47 pm

Interesting – Mattys Apartments opened back in the 1970s as a 24 hour no tell motel – very short stays and the visitors could pull their cars in the back not to be seen from the road. I believe the actual Matty (a little worm of a guy) died some years back but the name remained.

SusyQ #14 – What is the source of Paulus and Joran being at McDonalds at 4am?

It sounds like they were establishing an ALIBI.

    22. Susy Q on September 17th, 2008 8:27 pm

I’m not sure of the source but I’ve read that some witness reoported this sighting…I’ve read about it several times on the SM forum but I cannot recall the original source.

    23. katablog.com on September 17th, 2008 9:04 pm

Van der scum originally told Beth that he picked Joran up at 4:00am, he later changed the time and Beth has stated this over and over.

Yes, they were looking for Joran’s shoe I bet – that or making sure nothing else had been dropped.

    24. Poochy on September 17th, 2008 9:34 pm

Ya know, these folks have hired the best lawyers that $ can buy, but yet papa sloot felt the need to go not once but TWICE.

We got a family of 3 kids, and between which kid wants this and that, and the $ from either ‘going to the food’ or having the ‘food brought to us’, and sports fees, etc, what was the urgency to deposit this into a bank account? Are the sloots literally living paycheck to paycheck where they needed that $ deposited that quickly?

Also interesting that Paulus called Guido….!

PAULUS VDS – 06/18/2005 Witness Statement – from BFN
“…You are asking me whether I asked Joran for Guido’s phone-number. I did indeed do that to verify with Guido if Joran had truly won third place at the Holiday Inn Tournament. Joran had told me he had won third place, he said he had won 150$ and had exchanged these into Aruban Florin. I had my doubts because he hadn’t told me he had won the money immediately after winning it. I spoke with Guido at the “Raquet Club” and he told me Joran did indeed win third or fourth place. I allow Joran to play the “Free Tournaments” but he is not allowed to play for real money in the casino. ”

PVDS 6/23/2005 Statement – from BFN

To your question if I tell you all the things I did on that Monday the 30th of May 2005, I can state the following. I went to work. The exact time I cannot remember but I think it was approximately 08.00 hours. I can also remember that around 10.00 hours I went to the C.M.B. bank. There were long cues at the bank so I left without having made any transaction and went back to work. I left my workplace at approximately 15.00 hours. I arrived at the bank at approximately 15.30. I had gone to the C.M.B. bank that is situated in Noord.

To your question whether I went to the bank without stopping or going anywhere else, I can state the following. I at least cannot remember having been anywhere else. I think I went directly to the bank. At the bank I talked to Ruth DIJKHOFF. At the bank I deposited the money that Joran said that he had won in the “Free Tournament in the Holiday Inn” on the 29th of May 2005. It was approximately 500 Aruban guilders. Joran had given me 100 guilders because he had taken over my place in the tournament.

    25. Richard on September 18th, 2008 8:45 am

Here’s an old question revisited … considering that Joran was 17, hence a minor, on May 30, 2005, how severely CAN he be punished (even if Aruba decides someday to go after him)?

PvdScum, of course, is of age.

    26. Patti on September 21st, 2008 9:49 pm

I agree wholeheartedly with Katablog. Paulus had originally stated that he had picked up Joran and Natalee and dropped her off at her hotel at 4am.

There was also a witness that said that he had witnessed a rape and that when the rapist went to dispose of the dead girl in the ocean, he took something (I always assumed it was Joran’s shoe) disabling the rapist. He also stated that he picked up a condom that he had hidden in a refrigerator in Venezuella. Supposedly, the witness was discredited and was deported.

And, then, again; the words of Deepak Kalpoe keep ringing in my ears, ‘If you want to know what happened to Natalee, ask Joran what happened to his shoe!

      .

      Waterboy:

Personally, I think the blonde girl at the landfill was probably the same girl as the one at the rocks. Diversions… Even, the Prime Minister, himself, was willing to name the girl at the rocks Natalee… but, why?

      .

      A prosecution?

      Not likely…

But, why can’t ALE and the people of Aruba understand? This isn’t about lawyering up and duking it out with an unfair and unjust legal system that doesn’t accept confessions, when we all know what that means (all one has to do is get a couple of scumbags to lie, then kill, discredit or deport all the witnesses)

      It’s about finding Natalee!

      .

      J4N

      .

No doubt, Aruba lives in fear.

Don’t ever forget the deaths that followed!

      ***********************************************

Thank you, Jossy. Without your reporting and your many, many editorials begging for justice for that one American girl; and calling your people to question the authorities, finding Natalee would never had been possible. God bless and keep you, always!

      Patti :)

    27. Patti on September 21st, 2008 10:05 pm

      P.S.

I believe it was Paulus that said that he picked ‘THEM’ up at McDonalds.

      .

      Luv you all!

Rest in Peace Natalie. I have watched this information for years now, and disgusted that this guy is still walking the streets a free man. If this were my sister or dear friend, my life’s mission would be to settle the score and let him experience the same horror.
