Dave Holloway Sends Search Dog to Aruba to Search for Missing Natalee Holloway

New Search in Aruba by Dave Holloway …

Dave Holloway has sent a search dog and handler to Aruba to look for his missing daughter Natalee Holloway. The search was supposed to be of a small reservoir in Northwestern Aruba. It has been nearly 4 years since then 18 year old Natalee Holloway went missing in Aruba after leaving Carlos n’ Charlie’s with Joran Van der Sloot, Deepak Kalpoe and Satish Kalpoe.

Despite the search dogs being sent to Aruba at the request of Dave Holloway, the Aruban prosecutors officer stated that there were no new leads in the case of missing Natalee Holloway.

Ann Angela, a spokeswoman for the Aruba Prosecutors’ Office, said the dog is searching a small reservoir in northwestern Aruba that witnesses have previously identified as a location where Holloway’s remains might be found.

Why would there be another search after all this time? According to Dave Holloway’s attorney, Vinda de Sousa, Dave insisted on another search of the reservoir after a witness identified this area as a possible location. The witness passed a lie detector test in the U.S, also HERE and HERE. It is being reported that Beth Holloway was unaware of the development and declined further comment.

As reported at AL.com, the latest search for Natalee Holloway in Aruba has not turned up her body.

According to a press release written only in Dutch and titled “No remains of Natalee Holloway Found,” an investigator accompanied by a dog arrived on the island today to search a flooded area. That area has been pinpointed in the past by a witness, but the prosecutor’s office has said before and reiterated today that it has no reason to believe Holloway’s body would be found there.

UPDATE I: Golba Makes 9th trip to Aruba on behalf of the Holloway family

Golda plans to comb the Aruban pond for any signs of Natalee’s remains or van der Sloot’s sneaker.  He says, “I want to stick in my arm from my elbow to my shoulder and feel for bones and Joran’s sneaker…If we can find that sneaker in there than that whole pond becomes a crime scene and changes the playing game.”

UPDATE I: Fred Golba and search dog Rhino to Aruba

Golba says a witness has just come forward with new information about the lead suspect in the case, Joran van der Sloot. He believes Holloway’s body was dumped in a pond near the hotel where she was last seen.

Fred Golba, Natalee Holloway Foundation: “Joran van der Sloot waited out here in the water and, you know, went out chest-deep and let her body go in this retention pond.

So typical of Aruba’s Head Vagina of Anti-Prosecution though. Hans Mos

A person and a search dog go to follow up on a tip.

Aruba says nothing will be found there, all has been searched.

You never hear an Aruban sodomite say something like… yes, we have searched this area in the past… but if the family would like to search

ongoing investigation in the search for their

I really hope they can find her remains so that her family can finally put her to rest but I’m skeptical as we’ve all heard false rumors in the past. The Aruban officials will try anything to make us think they care about solving this case.

Ironic, isn’t it, because that’s pretty much exactly what Hans Mos said to the Holloway family. Mos discussed this site at length in his press conference back in January (?) of this year. At that time, he described how the site had been searched extensively. Yesterday, Mos confirmed that the party is welcome to conduct additional private searches.

Some may think that a dog can’t find a body after 3 or 4 years. Our Rotary club in 1991 had a guy out of San Antonio who at the time had a very special dog. He had volunteered all over the world, mostly in earthquake areas. He had been searching for John Bankston for years with his dog, and he was convinced he could find him. He never found him, but he felt like he knew where he was, but could never get the funds to retrieve his body.

The searcher felt a special obligation to find John’s body, because of John’s courage and sacrifice.

Well it would be nice if the Van Der Sloots invited Fred Golba and his dogs onto his property and home to put to rest any suspicions there. And where is the furniture that was taken from their home? that could be checked too. What say you Van der Sloots? Maybe even have the dog go where Deepak and Satish live and the internet cafe.

On one of Deepaks statements he says he was talking to the guy in the green Yaris car and he shot off his mouth about sports shoes and then told the guy he was thinking about something else. This conversation took place outside the hotel the first night that the family showed up. Deepak is not innocent. He was the adult that night.

Another fruitless search in Aruba for Natalee Holloway of Mountain Brook
Posted by Hannah Wolfson — Birmingham News March 20, 2009 4:18 PM

      Birmingham News file

Natalee Holloway, shown in this undated family photo, has been missing since May 2005. A search of a pond in Aruba conducted at the request of the father of Natalee Holloway of Mountain Brook, Alabama, has not turned up her body, Aruban officials said today.

Holloway disappeared in May of 2005 while on a trip to the island with fellow graduates of Mountain Brook High School. Since then, her father, Dave Holloway, has brought private investigators to the island several times to continue the search.

In this case, the release says, Aruban police merely supervised the private investigation and did not participate.

      FOX 3-23-09

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The father of a U.S. teen who went missing nearly four years ago in Aruba said Sunday that a private investigator will scour a retention pond for answers that have eluded the family throughout numerous false leads and fruitless searches.

Dave Holloway said tracker dog specialist Fred Golba, from Chicopee, Massachusetts, will begin his latest search for evidence into Natalee Holloway’s May 2005 disappearance early Monday. He said the tracker, who has searched for her eight times before, must be accompanied to the pond by Aruban police escorts, who delayed an anticipated weekend search.

Natalee Holloway, from Mountain Brook, Alabama, was 18 when she was last seen leaving a bar in the Aruban capital on the final night of a high school graduation trip. No trace of her has been found despite extensive searches involving hundreds of volunteers, Aruban soldiers, FBI agents and even Dutch F-16 jets with special equipment.

But Dave Holloway said a witness last year alleged that he saw the only remaining suspect, Joran van der Sloot, coming out of the brackish pond in northwest Aruba with only one sneaker on after Natalee’s disappearance. He said the witness has passed a polygraph test.

“I’ve been looking for (nearly) four years and I intend to search all the evidence and every lead,” said Holloway, speaking to The Associated Press from his home in Meridian, Mississippi. “(The witness) saw what he saw — or he believed he saw what he saw.”

Sections of the remote pond area have been searched previously and no evidence was ever found.

Holloway said he had been waiting for the retention pond to dry up before commissioning this latest search, “but the weather has not been cooperative.”

Ann Angela, a spokeswoman for the Aruba Prosecutors’ Office, said neither police nor prosecutors have any new information in the case, but they gave Dave Holloway permission to search the pond, which is about a mile away from where she was last seen.

Before he left for Aruba on Friday, Golba told Fox 25 television in Boston that he planned to stick his hands into the pond’s muddy bottom and feel around for “bones and his sneaker” while his tracking dog searches the marshy scrubland.

“I have more confidence in this pond then anything I have done in eight trips to this island,” Golba told the TV station.

In early January, Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos said his office was “approaching the end of this lengthy investigation” and appealed to the public for help.

I searched for tide levels in the past, and discovered that the difference between high tide and low tide is the least at or near the equator. When I was in Alaska, they were telling me the tide difference in places was 30 something feet. In Aruba, best I remember, it’s about 18 inches.

Point is, if an area fills at full tide, there is less 2 feet of tide water. The dam may have been put up to keep the area from filling with salt water. It was rather dry when Natalee disappeared, and then it rained and filled the area that had not been filled in some time.

If Joran buried Natalee in a dry, but muddy area of a “pond” and it filled with water, it would make the search very difficult, maybe impossible. I thought is that Aruba is stalling the search in hopes it will rain.

I guess, as a father, you would never give up on finding your missing child. Dave Holloway has certainly held up to and passed the test of time. He has done it with such dignity. He has even kept his cool in the face of a slime-ball perpetrator and his low-life dad.

I use to loose my cool as a child, and end up in a fistfight. Somewhere along the way, I’ve learned to control it. I’d probable have hit Joran, and ended up causing more trouble than good.

However, if you are going to get in a fight, I learned in grade school—make the first blow count. It may be all you get. A good hard punch to the abdomen is best, right below the ribs. The right side is better than the left. If you hit hard enough, it takes about 15 seconds for the effect to soak in, and of course the other guy hits you back, usually in the face. Then the pain of the low blow soaks in, and you can hit him again, usually winning the fight.

Big talk for an old guy who hasn’t been in a fight for over 30 years.

Why do I post such stupid stuff, and what the heck does it have to do with the subject at hand?

Natalee Holloway’s dad says Aruba pond search may take 2 weeks

      By: Associated Press

ORANJESTAD, Aruba — The father of missing American teenager Natalee Holloway said Monday that a U.S. private investigator has begun scouring a pond in Aruba for signs of his daughter and the search may take up to two weeks.

Dave Holloway said the Aruba Prosecutors’ Office has asked the investigator, Fred Golba of Chicopee, Massachusetts, to not speak to reporters during his search for evidence into Natalee Holloway’s May 2005 disappearance.

Holloway said the tracker dog specialist will comply with the request.

Golba will be searching the pond for “10 days to two weeks maximum” in search of any answers that have eluded the family, Holloway said from his home in Meridian, Mississippi.

Golba has searched for her eight times before on the Dutch Caribbean island. Sections of the pond area have been searched previously and no evidence was ever found.

Natalee Holloway, from Mountain Brook, Alabama, was 18 when she was last seen leaving a bar in the Aruban capital on the final night of a high school graduation trip. No trace of her has turned up despite recurrent searches and extensive publicity.

Dave Holloway said a witness last year alleged that he saw the only remaining suspect, Joran van der Sloot, coming out of the brackish pond in northwest Aruba with only one sneaker on after Natalee’s disappearance.

On Monday, telephone calls to the prosecutor’s office went unanswered.

Aruban police referred calls regarding the Holloway case to their office.

In early January, Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos said his office was “approaching the end of this lengthy investigation” and appealed to the public for help.

“I am almost four years to find and I plan to take all evidence and every piece of evidence to examine,” says Dave. “The witness has seen what he has seen, or at least he believes what he has seen.” According to Holloway father wanted to wait until the search totally tank was dry. “But the weather did not cooperate.”

Before specialist Golba Friday to Aruba departed, he told a local TV station that he was planning his hands in the mud to stabbing and around bones and a feel to sneakers. His dog was in the meantime, in the swampy area to find the body. “I have more confidence in this quest than anything else that I must visit the island to have done,” said Golba in the TV interview.

#42, the reason that Golba must be accompanied by members of ALE is obvious – to establish a proper chain of custody that will stand up in Court should any evidence actually be found. I don’t have any idea why the article says that weekend searches were postponed until Monday.

I wish I could be more optimistic but, this witness has been known for a long time and this pond area has been searched at least two times already. But, here’s hoping for something (anything) to break this case.

      Hi Jerry I’m still here.
I read some where that the MBHS classmates saw Natlee in a red jeep with Paulus and Joran at 4:00AM by a Mcdonalds.
If this is fact why weren’t these statements made public from the get go?
If it was the MD’s by the hotels there would be no reason for people walking around at that hour to a McDonalds which was probably closed.
Most McDonalds close at 12:00 some in my area stay open until 1:00AM.
But then again those statements match what Paulus originally said that he picked up Natalee and Joran at 4:00AM at McDonalds and then later changed to 11:00PM.
So Paulus for some reason had to show that he was not in that area at 4:00AM.
The students; I don’t supposed attempted to contact Natalee. Did they report what kind of condition did Natalee appear to be; awake, asleep, just what did they see?
Paulus, in changing his story from 4:00AM to 11:00PM is what got him arrested. Then when he sued for wrongful imprisonment, Aruba disallowed the payment. Therefore that must have been the truth that he was in the area at 4:00AM and the 11:00PM was a lie; but why?
Could Natalee have been dead at the time the students say they saw her?
The ATM withdrawals pose another set of questions. If Natalee were dead at that time; why would they pick the Monserat pond for disposing of her? Any attempt to submerge a body would eventually resurface once decomposition set in. The only safe way would be to place her in a container or say a body bag. Which would bring up more questions like who supplied the bag. Rene comes to mind. Place her in the bag with rocks to weigh it down and force out the air and let the bag sink.
So maybe Joran did grab Natalee for his father and the Kalpoes left them near the lighthouse. There was a rumor that a phone belonging to Paulus was found near the lighthouse. When Beth arrived Paulus was using Anita’s cellphone.
There is so much more to wrte that space and time do not permit.
I sincerely hope Dave is right and Natalee is found and he can bring some kind of closure. The family certainly deserves our prayers.

      Natalee Holloway update

Holloway trying to cover all the possibilities

      By Brian Livingston

      blivingston@themeridianstar.com

Dave Holloway, the father of missing teenager Natalee Holloway who disappeared four years ago while on a senior trip to Aruba, said this morning he really doesn’t think his daughter’s body will be found during this latest search.

But he didn’t want to spend the rest of his life wondering, “What if”, either.

“The guy whose claims prompted this latest search at the pond has been bugging me for some time,” said Holloway of Meridian. “He is convinced he saw something and he passed not one but two polygraph tests conducted by reputable technicians. Now, I’m not really sure just how accurate polygraph tests are but I kept thinking what if he is right. I just couldn’t see any reason why he would lie about what he believed he saw.”

The latest search is centered around a water run-off retaining pond on the island. Aruban police say previous searches of the marshy area have turned up nothing. Holloway admitted all indications have pointed to the ocean as to where his daughter’s body is likely located. But the little bit of doubt placed in his head by this “witness” gave Holloway pause.

Holloway contracted a tracker dog specialist to begin his latest search for evidence into Natalee Holloway’s May 2005 disappearance early Monday. Nothing was found during Monday’s search.

Natalee Holloway, from Mountain Brook, Ala., was 18 when she was last seen in May 2005 in the Aruban capital Oranjestad on the final night of a high school graduation trip. She reportedly left a bar with Dutch man Joran van der Sloot. No trace of her has been found despite extensive searches involving hundreds of volunteers, Aruban soldiers, FBI agents and even Dutch F-16 jets with special equipment.

What is obvious to all here, with the exception of you of course, is that if Golba finds anything in the pond, ALE will confiscate it, then DESTROY IT (Natalee’s remains, that is if they are there), just like they did everything else in the beginning!!!

Are you there now on that Godforsaken, poverty stricken, drug infested, lawless, third world Dutch protectorate of ARUBA???

God bless and always be with Dave Holloway and Beth Twitty for everything they’ve done humanly possible, and will continue to do to try to find their Natalee :-)

Just want to put in my two cents. I hope and pray that Dave gets some answers from this search. I don’t blame him one bit for trying. I hope that Golba can outwit the ALE. I wouldn’t let any evidence out of my sight. God bless Dave.

      Crossbow,

I remember someone saying that Paulus said he picked Joran and Natalee up at 4:00 A.M. and then changed the story to 11:00 P.M. Of course; he couldn’t have picked them up at 11:00, because Natalee was at the bar at that time. I didn’t realize that this statement got him arrested.

He’s never really answered the question, “Were you sitting next to Natalee at the casino?” I don’t know why. I would think someone could prove that it was Paulus sitting next to Natalee.

I’ve never read anyone comment on Paulus’s sexual appetites, and if it includes young girls or not. From the looks of his wife, he is not too picky, or maybe she picked him (his wife, that is).

Joran obviously has a sexual addiction, and I know some have speculated as to whether it is strictly heterosexual or not. He’s one creepy kid. I don’t trust young people with disrespect for adults, teachers, parents, etc., especially if they are also sociopaths.

Did Rene furnish the body bag, why not? Or maybe the hospital morgue furnished one.

If Natalee died a believable natural death, even if she was raped, she must have ended up at the hospital, but not if she was beaten to death as some speculate. This would account for the ATM withdrawals too, if she were taken to the hospital. I’d like to know if any hospital personal died shortly after Natalee’s disappearance.

I remember that a cell phone belonging to Paulus was found at the Lighthouse. Could this have been the phone Natalee called home on?

It is such a twisted menagerie. Most likely, Natalee was cremated or placed in the earth many hundreds of feet deep as you have said many times. I believe the landfill is a very good possibility too.

One of the two (Paulus, or Joran) or both know for sure what happen to Natalee. A deathbed confession is about all I will believe at this point.

Joran has said many times Natalee would never be found, and because he said it, I believe there is still a chance that she can be found.

From the mouth of a liar, the truth cometh (twisted as it might be).

I think in the States, any U.S. state, Joran and Paulus would be in jail, lifting weights, and playing handball.

Congradulations to the posters in the forum.
You have sunk to a new low.
So you think someone helping a father find his missing daughter is funny by wading through a pond?
God knows what was thrown in there and he might step on glass or some other object.
No I don’t believe they will find Natalee either.
A body weighted down but not enclosed will upon decomposing start to separate and float to the surface. Rememeber there are about 206 bones in the body; any one could have surfaced within the given time period.
The other possiblity is the body is in some kind of container and is submerged
Enough of the cute stuff; its sickening……..

Has anyone approached amnesty international? they deal with human rights issues, social justice, violence against women world wide. Its frightening to think these cretins are free to wander the planet with no consequences. If the Dutch or Aruban police refuse to do their job, then they should be shamed globaly.
Shame on you Aruba, shame on you Holland. Shame, shame.

    62. Klaasend on March 25th, 2009 3:34 pm

Who said we thought it was funny? Actually most of us believe it’s horribly sad that Natalee’s family has to go through this game. Yes, I say game because it’s rediculous to think Golba will find anything searching by himself in the manner that the photos are depicting. Any post making fun of the event were directed towards the likely photographer Julia Renfro who is NO FRIEND to Beth or Dave.

I’m quite aware of how YOU feel about SM.

Natalee Holloway update: potential problems for search parties bound for Aruba

      By Jen Hale
      Reporter and weekend anchor
      Published: March 25, 2009

Tensions are building between two search parties involved in the search for missing Mountain Brook teen Natalee Holloway.

Right now, private investigator Fred Golba is currently in Aruba, searching a retention pond.

Tim Miller and Texas EquuSearch are planning a deep water search on the ocean floor in the next few months.

They’ve raised $1.5 million dollars to go back to Aruba to finish a search that began last March, then stalled when funding ran out.

Underwater rovers will inspect suspicious containers on the ocean bottom that could hold Natalee’s remains.

“We still have 140 plus targets over there. We’re going to be bringing in a 360 ft boat from Trinidad,“ says Miller.

But Miller is worried Fred Golba is damaging relationships with Aruba’s government—- possibly for all future search parties – because he allegedly isn’t following Aruba’s rules.

Golba allegedly did not get permission beforehand from Aruba before arriving on the island for his current search. Plus, Aruban officials learned about it through the media.

“When people do this, and take off over there like a Rambo, how in the world can we expect to get any future cooperation from the Aruban authorities?“ wonders Miller.

Miller doesn’t think there’s much chance Natalee’s remains are in the pond Golba plans to spend the next two weeks searching. He also doesn’t think much of Golba’s efforts.

“All he’s doing – and Nancy Grace is letting him do it – is turning Natalee’s disappearance into entertainment. This is just putting on a show as far as I’m concerned and ruining relationships we do have with authorities in Aruba,“ warns Miller.

But some Aruban insiders says – although there were tensions when Golba first arrived – he and government officials have now worked everything out.

These insiders say relationships are good on all sides and that the Aruban government is helping Golba however it can, including arranging for a car for Golba and his cadaver dog.

Fred Golba arrived in Aruba last Friday and planned to start searching Saturday.

However, Golba wasn’t allowed to begin until he met with government officials Monday to explain his plan and issue a promise not to talk to the media.

For that reason, NBC 13 has not been able to ask Golba about Miller’s concerns.
