Pot & Kettle: Here is Your Candidate of Change … Barack Obama Lashes Out Against Activist Pastors

Barack Obama, a typical politician. Obama’s real message is not one of hope and change, but rather one of  … do as I say, not as I do.

Barack Obama sat through 20 years of sermons at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago and listened to Reverend Jeremiah Wright and didn’t think that is was “screed”? Talk about a convenient memory.

Isn’t this priceless. Long before the world knew about Reverend Jeremiah Wright and the 20 years of Barack Obama attending the racially and politically charged sermons, Obama was lashed out at activist pastors who offer more “screed than sermon.” Of course this was in 2006. Flash forward to 2008.

What exactly would he call what Reverend Wright was doing? But that’s different, because it has to do with Barack Obama and he has a separate set of rules. However, once the world found out about Reverend Wright and his sermons, Obama found it politically expedient to leave the church and cast Wright under the bus.

Barack Obama in 2006 sermon (tape): “No matter how religious they may or may not be, people are tired of seeing faith used as a tool of attack. They don’t want faith used to belittle or to divide. They’re tired of hearing folks deliver more screed than sermon. Because in the end, that’s not how they think about faith in their own lives.”

Dr. Dobson Thumps Barack Obama For Distorting Bible

James Dobson says Barack Obama is distorting bibical teachings to fit “his own confused theology.”

I think he’s deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own world view, his own confused theology,” Dobson said, adding that Obama is “dragging biblical understanding through the gutter.”

Obama’s reply is that Dobson is making the stuff up. Really? From the video above, it appears that it is Barack Obama who has trouble keeping his stories correct and have a revisionist history.

Every photo of Obamanation I have seen make him appear to darn “smug” and “full of himself”. He is NOT a leader. As with Bill Clinton, Obamanation’s wife is the strong/brains of the pair, so if those voting for Obamanation want another crazy, ranting, witch in the White House…go for the democratic ticket and say goodbye to America as we know it.

Christianity as it’s understood by Dr. Dobson:

-Blessed are the rich, for they shall wield power.
-Blessed are the powerful, for they shall judge.

-Blessed are the rule makers, for they shall make war.

-Blessed are those who instill fear, for they shall love lying.
-Blessed are the liars, for they shall fuel hatred.

For years I disliked the Paul Harvey like speeking voice…reverant, wise, if you do not believe like me your a dope, trying to make positives belong only to his wishes.

And to me this is where I find Obama so scrary, he is exceedingly good at this sort of presentation, with smooth delivery and no professional experience. Obama is programed wrong as an amateur his motives demand question.

Coming from not a cent from anyone to a decent success in businesses, here is also one of my concerns of Obama. Can anyone have any doubt Obama working for any ordinary business would have the bluff and snooker skills to convence all to hear him he should be running the business? And can there be any doubt he would make a disaster of doing so…not being an independant thinker, no experience, his skills only those of words. Far too often this is what we vote for as politicians, Obama takes the bad parts of politicians we already fell for to — much higher levels of deciet.

What a hypocrite! Obviously … Barack Obama was very naive in this period in time. He honestly thought that he could undermine Evangelical leaders for their political messages from the pulpit but … the anti-American, racist, anti-Israel rhetoric of Jeremiah Wright … his pastor of over twenty years … would not be exposed.

Oh, and then Dobson was going to “cure” Haggard of his homosexuality…but he didn’t have time:
“Emotionally and spiritually, I wanted to be of help — but the reality is I don’t have the time to devote to such a critical responsibility,” Dobson said in a statement.

Dobson’s overriding focus was Haggard’s sin of homosexuality. Talk about “screwed” up. Dobson was so self-righteously focused and narcissistically centered on the homosexuality aspect, that the offense toward God and the people of God through the YEARS of lying, deception, theft bypassed Dobson’s focus. Just the singular offense of homosexuality is the dread of Dobson. Yes, according to Dobson, it is a sin. But if one is measuring the gravity of sin…do you have any idea how many people Haggard lied to repeatedly, stole from, cheated, hustled? Not to mention God. Never mind the secret sex sin. Haggard’s problems were far greater and far more extensive than homosexuality and Dobson did a disservice for Christianity and conservatives when he covered for Haggard, blamed others and then focused on the sexual sin as the most serious concern and minimized the grand thefts, lies, cheating and deception by Haggard.

Haggard lied/cheated/stole from 30 million people (the number Haggard bragged he represented as head of the National Association of Evangelicals) yet Dobson’s focus was treatment for Haggard’s homosexuality?
That, imo, would make him a very poor representative of biblical theology, philosophy and practice.

BACKUP – BARACK OBAMA’S “OWN CONFUSED THEOLOGY”

The ministry at TUCC … Barack Obama’s church for over twenty years … has a foundation rooted in the Black Theology, anti-American, racist, anti-Israel ideology of James Cone.
      __________

THE VISION STATEMENT OF TRINITY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST (TUCC)

… “The vision statement of Trinity United Church of Christ is based upon the systematized liberation theology that started in 1969 with the publication of Dr. James Cone’s book, Black Power and Black Theology.”

The Marxist Roots of Black Liberation Theology
      April 2, 2008

While Black Liberation Theology is not main stream in most black churches, many pastors in Wright’s generation are burdened by (James) Cone’s categories which laid the foundation for many to embrace Marxism and a distorted self-image of the perpetual “victim.”

… In FOR MY PEOPLE, Cone explains that “the Christian faith does not possess in its nature the means for analyzing the structure of capitalism. Marxism as a tool of social analysis can disclose the gap between appearance and reality, and thereby help Christians to see how things really are.”

QUOTES – “BLACK POWER & BLACK THEOLOGY”

“Christ is black therefore not because of some cultural or psychological need of black people, but because and only because Christ really enters into our world where the poor were despised and the black are, disclosing that he is with them enduring humiliation and pain and transforming oppressed slaves into liberating servants.” James Cone

“Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community.” James Cone

“Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.” James Cone

“In the New Testament, Jesus is not for all, but for the oppressed, the poor and unwanted of society, and against oppressors … Either God is for black people in their fight for liberation and against the white oppressors, or he is not.” James Cone

    20. bob on June 25th, 2008 7:39 pm

      Tamikosmom,

You said the following regarding my statement that Dobson is a Marxist: “SM … I refuse to participate in a forum that allows characters to be undermined/assassinated WITHOUT CREDIBLE BACKUP.” If you want credible backup, then why not simply ask me for it? I can back up everything I say. I will now give the evidence for what I said assuming you aren’t done here.

Focus on the Family, the org that the psychologist, Dobson, heads, is a non-governmental org (NGO) listed with the UN’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This can be seen by going to http://www.un.og.ch and going to the NGO section. You will see FOTF on the long list. They have special consultative status with the UN.

All UN-NGO’s are dedicated to the UN Marxist, one-world, agenda. The UN is out to, as they say, prepare the world for the coming of the “Christ” (which is the anti-christ). Dobson is on board fully with the UN anti-Christ agenda and there is your proof.

    21. bob on June 25th, 2008 7:52 pm

      tamikosmom,

Allow me to make another point regarding Focus on the Family. You naively believe Dobson is a Christian. Have you ever wondered why his org is called Focus on the Family? A true Christian leader would “Focus on Jesus Christ.” The reason he wants you to focus on a family is because everyone has a family and so everyone has this “common ground.” Dobson, a socio-psychologist (a meshing of socialism with psychology), wants “diversity” to set aside their differences and focus on what they all have in common which is the family. Ultimately, Dobson doesn’t care in the slightest about anyone’s family. His purpose is to create an “ecumenism” that a shared focus on the family brings about. This is diversity unifying or diversity in unity. “Can all the diverse positions in the group agree that family is important?” This is Marxism 101.

Dobson is in bed with Catholics, Mormons and even Moslems. He is about bringing all religions together under Satan’s rule.

    22. Tamikosmom on June 25th, 2008 8:03 pm

Bob … I understand where you are coming from and you have it all wrong.

As a Christian I acknowledge the one world Marist agenda of the UN … it is Scriptually based but … believe me my ideology is right of center on the political scale.

Many Christian equate the one world Marxist agenda as a sign of the ushering in of the anti-Christ but it … does not imply they embrace it. Evangelical Christian … for the most part … work very hard within the political system … UN too … to prolong this eventuality. This is the reason that most are politically conservative … James Dobson as well.

      Janet

    23. Tamikosmom on June 25th, 2008 8:19 pm

Bob … James Dobson’s ministry focuses on the family in much the same way that another ministry may focus on the unborn child … another may focus on homosexuality. These ministry are meant to further Biblical concepts and … therefore honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

James Dobson’s definition of the family is very fundamental and … therefore he is not attempting to further “ecumenism”.

Think about it. James Dobson would not be opposing Barack Obama in the issues at hand … he would be upholding him … if a Marxist agenda was his objective.

      Sincerely, Janet

oh, and here’s a better one:
Question: Has God withdrawn His protective hand from the US?”
James Dobson responds: “Christians have made arguments on both sides of this question. I certainly believe that God is displeased with America for its pride and arrogance, for killing 40 million unborn babies, for the universality of profanity and for other forms of immorality. However, rather than trying to forge a direct cause-and-effect relationship between the terrorist attacks and America’s abandonment of biblical principles, which I think is wrong, we need to accept the truth that this nation will suffer in many ways for departing from the principles of righteousness. “The wages of sin is death,” as it says in Romans 6, both for individuals and for entire cultures. ”

If you see someone who distributes corporate power primarily to men and whose marriage revolves primarily around his own goals and purposes, you may well be looking at a sexist.” p. 151

      Tamikosmom,

You have no idea what you are talking about. First, to be a UN-NGO, like FOTF, is akin to being a capo in the mob. It doesn’t happen by accident. It takes years of dedication to the UN agenda to even be considered. Dobson is a Marxist 100% on board with the UN agenda. Check out the criteria for being a un-ngo. There are NO evangelical Christians working within the UN system to “prolong the eventuality of the anti-christ” as you so naively and ignorantly claim.

You naively believe that if Dobson was a Marxist, then he would be “upholding” Obama and not opposing him. You fail to understand something all Marxists are well aware of called the dialectic process. The MO of the powers-that-be is to always create a “controlled opposition” to their agenda. If their agenda is abortion, then THEY create the opposition which is FOTF. This dialectic process serves to dupe people like you into believing that someone is out there fighting your fight, like Dobson, and so you become apathetic. Dobson is a communist who plays the role of a conservative in the dialectic process. I KNOW ABOUT DOBSON and so do many other true Christians. Dobson has been a change agent since before Obama could even read.

only thing he has to do is not marry to a man.

anyway i believe that whatever a reverend says doesn’t have anything to do with politics.
Obama has already dumped his reverend and left his church.

Dobson might have done Obama a huge favour actually.

caesu … you may not agree with James Dobson’s postion on controversial issues but … you know exactly where he stands. He is not a fraud and … he is not deceptive.

“Please don’t misunderstand me. Siggie is a member of our family and we love him dearly. And despite his anarchistic nature, I have finally taught him to obey a few simple commands. However, we had some classic battles before he reluctantly yielded to my authority.

“The greatest confrontation occurred a few years ago when I had been in Miami for a three-day conference. I returned to observe that Siggie had become boss of the house while I was gone. But I didn’t realize until later that evening just how strongly he felt about his new position as Captain.

“At eleven o’clock that night, I told Siggie to go get into his bed, which is a permanent enclosure in the family room. For six years I had given him that order at the end of each day, and for six years Siggie had obeyed.

“On this occasion, however, he refused to budge. You see, he was in the bathroom, seated comfortably on the furry lid of the toilet seat. That is his favorite spot in the house, because it allows him to bask in the warmth of a nearby electric heater…”

“When I told Sigmund to leave his warm seat and go to bed, he flattened his ears and slowly turned his head toward me. He deliberately braced himself by placing one paw on the edge of the furry lid, then hunched his shoulders, raised his lips to reveal the molars on both sides, and uttered his most threatening growl. That was Siggie’s way of saying. “Get lost!”

“I had seen this defiant mood before, and knew there was only one way to deal with it. The only way to make Siggie obey is to threaten him with destruction. Nothing else works. I turned and went to my closet and got a small belt to help me “reason” with Mr. Freud.”

What developed next is impossible to describe. That tiny dog and I had the most vicious fight ever staged between man and beast. I fought him up one wall and down the other, with both of us scratching and clawing and growling and swinging the belt. I am embarrassed by the memory of the entire scene. Inch by inch I moved him toward the family room and his bed. As a final desperate maneuver, Siggie backed into the corner for one last snarling stand. I eventually got him to bed, only because I outweighed him 200 to 12!” — “The Strong Willed Child” by James Dobson.

I would not take Mr. Dobson’s advice on anything, especially that involving the gospel, and certainly that of rearing a child. His disgusting display over beating his dog to ‘gain the upper hand’ and control is simply sick. Not to mention the fact that he advocates beating children.
      Disgusting.

#31 Janet: “He is not a fraud and … he is not deceptive.”
      Larry King 2002:
KING: … then those people on 9/11 are in a better place. The people saddened are the people left, right?

DOBSON: Yes, if they had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which is my theology. It’s not enough just to be a good person and then die and go to heaven. There are some conditions and…

KING: So if they were Jewish, they’re somewhere not in heaven or — Muslim, they’re not in heaven.

DOBSON: Well, as you know, I’m thankful that I don’t have the responsibility to figure that out.

      KING: But you believe it?

DOBSON: Well, I believe what the scripture says. And it tells us not to judge one another, leave that up to Him and I do that.

CALLER: Hi, my question, Dr. Dobson, you mentioned early in the show that the people on September the 11th who died, who didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you know, basically didn’t go to heaven. Do you honestly believe that people of different faiths other than Christian, Muslim/Hindu/Jewish faiths, are those people when they die all going to hell?

DOBSON: I don’t think you heard the second half of my answer, because I was attempting to explain that that would require me to put myself in judgment of everybody around the world. And if you did not conform to my notions, then you’re damned. I don’t know. So I’m thankful that I don’t have to decide that. You know the…

KING: But it’s what you believe.

DOBSON: I believe the scripture makes it clear that Jesus Christ came to provide a remedy for sin and to be a savior to those who would believe on His name and that through Him, they would be saved.

KING: So the next step has to believe that you believe they go some place others don’t.

DOBSON: Yes, that’s the implication of it, yes. That’s right.

KING: So the woman is correct in saying that? That’s what you believe?

      DOBSON: Yes.

That right there is a Deceiver.

btw, Mr Dobson also believes only 500 Million out of 6.6 Billion people in the world are allowed to go to Heaven.

“How hard can it be, guys,” he would say, “to make a shopping list, to go to the grocery store, and fix a meal?” James Dobson quote from Gil Alexander, Co-Founder of Focus on the Family.

“My observation is that women are merely waiting for their husbands to assume leadership.”
James Dobson “Straight Talk” pg. 92

“The primary responsibility for the provision of authority in the home has been assigned to men,”
James Dobson “Straight Talk” pg. 97

“Men in Western nations have experienced a severe crisis of identity in recent years, similar to the confusion that their wives have encountered. It has been brought on by persistent challenges to everything traditionally masculine, just as the women’s movement has mocked traditionally female behavior and mores. Masculine leadership, especially, has been ridiculed as ‘macho’ and invariably self-serving.”
James Dobson “Straight Talk” pg. 97

“It left its mark before disappearing from the scene, but the general public quickly realized that anger between the sexes and lesbian ideologies, even the Equal Rights Amendment, were not in society’s best interests. Unfortunately, many gullible people were sucked into the web before their eyes were opened. Some are still paying the price for mistakes made during that era.”
James Dobson “Straight Talk” pg. 186

If you are a woman, and you are a follower of Mr Dobson, then you are subservient to men.
      How nice…

      Osama Bin Laden 10/7/2001:
“The war against Afghanistan and Osama bin Laden is a war on Islam. This is a new battle, a great battle, similar to the great battles of Islam, like the conquest of Jerusalem. I believe that there is only one God and there is no prophet but Mohammed. America was hit by God in one of its softest spots.”

James Dobson – Focus on the Family website:
“I certainly believe that God is displeased with America for its pride and arrogance, for killing 40 million unborn babies, for the universality of profanity and for other forms of immorality. ””

      Wow – how scarily similar…

      YoYO,

Your first example of Dobson, with his dog Siggie, is not a silly or insignificant example. Dobson, an enemy of God and Jesus Christ, is actually a Skinnerian behavioral psychologist, who, believing that people don’t possess a God-breathed spirit, and believing, therefore, that people are indistinguishable from animals, fully believes and teaches that people can be TRAINED and conditioned like Pavov’s dogs or like Thorndike’s chickens. To an ungodly man like Dobson, people aren’t made in God’s image, but are there to be manipulated and herded like animals. That’s precisely the point he’s making.

Your second point regarding his time on Larry King shows clearly that Dobson is a false Christian and a hypocrite because he wasn’t even willing to back the biblical position and the truth that no one gets to Heaven without faith in Jesus Christ. When Larry asks him point blank if Jews or Moslems go to Heaven, Dobson compromised his position, and stated that “he can’t judge.” This proves Dobson can’t even repeat HIS OWN SUPPOSED CONVICTIONS on national TV. Even Larry King could see Dobson is a coward and phony incapable of even standing for the true gospel that he claims to believe. Dobson is one of the greatest wolves in sheep’s clothing ever!

I love it when those with an obvious agenda try to sway the conversation away from the point of a post. The internet definition would be a troll.

Dobson is not the fraud … Obama is the fraud.

At he very time he was giving interviews where Obama was lashed out at activist pastors who offer more “screed than sermon … he sat in the pews at Trinity Church and listened to Rev. Wright and had no issue.

For 20 years he sat by and attacked other people of religion that he did not agree with, but when it came to his own activist pastor, that was another story.

      Obama is a phony!

No matter how religious they may or may not be, people are tired of seeing faith used as a tool of attack. They don’t want faith used to belittle or to divide. They’re tired of hearing folks deliver more screed than sermon. Because in the end, that’s not how they think about faith in their own lives.

Dobson didn’t run a plane into the WTC. whats your point?

      Rusty – Osama didn’t either.
Point is Osama’s God believes America deserved 9/11 and Dobson’s God believes America deserved 9/11. At least according to Osama/Dobson.

I’m pretty sure Janet is not subservient to men yet she is a follower of “Focus on the Family” in which its tenants and it’s founder/leader is clearly misogynistic.

I do find it curious though that someone who is a follower of “Focus on the Family” has chosen to back one candidate who abandoned his family when his wife was no longer attractive and someone richer/better connected came along…but doesn’t back the candidate that values his family, his wife and his daughters.
Maybe it should be changed to “Focus on the Conservative” instead.
