Any one who had any dreams of a Hillary Clinton/Barack Obama 
Democratic ticket can kiss that thought goodbye. The battle for the Democratic nomination for the presidency has gotten ugly, real ugly.
Normally, its Democrats using the race card against Republicans … not this time. Its Democrat v. Democrat over the race issue. The Clinton campaign may want to take a look as to who brought the issue into play in the first place. The Clinton campaign stupidly touched the third rail of politics when running against a black candidate. Hillary, just like your husband Bill … you are not black either.
“This is an unfortunate story line the Obama campaign has pushed very successfully,” the former first lady said in a spirited appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”"I don’t think this campaign is about gender, and I sure hope it’s not about race.”
The race issue is now alive and well within the Democratic primary and may just fracture the party.
The Clinton’s need to realize that Bill Clinton was not really the first “Black President” and that would mean that Hillary was not the first “First Lady” married to a black President. News flash to TEAM CLINTON, Bill Clinton was white and Barack Obama really is a black man. Hillary’s comments may come back to bite her when she referenced the late Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
Presently the polls have Obama in the lead in South Carolina by double digits.
Sharp criticism of Barack Obama and other comments about Martin Luther King Jr. — all from people associated with Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign — have generated resentment among some black S.C. voters.
The furor comes just two weeks before those voters will have a significant say in who wins the Jan. 26 primary here.
The Clinton-Obama battle has the potential to become a wrenching divide for black voters. Historically those voters have been strong backers of Bill and Hillary Clinton. But many black voters now are drawn to the prospect of a black man winning the presidency.
Those on both sides say watching the battle unfold in the Palmetto State, where black voters could cast half of the votes in the Democratic primary, won’t be pretty.
“To some of us, it is painful,” said state Sen. Darrell Jackson, a Clinton supporter.
But the state’s only African-American congressman was quoted in The New York Times Friday saying he is reconsidering that stance in light of comments from Clinton.
She raised eyebrows in New Hampshire when she credited President Lyndon Baines Johnson, not the assassinated John F. Kennedy or King, for passing civil rights legislation.
“It is one thing to run a campaign and be respectful of everyone’s motives and actions, and it is something else to denigrate those,” Clyburn told the Times. “That bothered me a great deal.”
Hillary Clinton went on “Meet the Press” (Transcript Here) this weekend in her best impersonation of The Empire Strikes back as Hillary Clinton attacked Barack Obama. How ironic, Hillary Clinton accusing others of being selective with the facts.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” today that the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) was “deliberately distorting” remarks she had made about the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. “This is, you know, a, a — an unfortunate story line that the Obama campaign has pushed very successfully,” she said. “They’ve been putting out talking points. They’ve been making this — they’ve been telling people, in a very selective way, what the facts are.”
Then Barack Obama counters Hillary’s comments, Obama Slams Clinton’s ‘Meet’ Appearance.
Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) dismissed an appearance made by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) on “Meet the Press” this morning as “political point scoring,” condemning his main rival for the Democratic presidential nomination for seeking to recast the events of the last several years.
“What we saw this morning was why the American people are tired of Washington politicians and the games they play,” said Obama in a conference call announcing the endorsement of Sen. Claire McCaskill (Mo.) “[Clinton] started this campaign saying that she wanted to make history and lately she has been spending some time rewriting it.”

Now the Clinton apologists are out in mass defending Hillary’s mis-step.
It was actually insulting that people referenced Slick Willy as the first black president in order to BS the black voting block. Now for Hillary to be allowed to make these comments and get away with them is sick.
BTW Billary … where was Bill Clinton during his 8 years with aid to Africa and the Sudan? Hmm?
Isn’t that just like Hillary and Bill? Haven’t they always taken from one and given to another and then claimed the result? Nothing new here. Hillary has alway been loose with the truth.
I’ll probably be banned from future posts, bwtf, here goes: In almost 8 years, the great george hasn’t done much. Yes, he looked really, really good after 9/11, but to me, an ordinary citizen paying my taxes, blah, blah, blah, he hasn’t done diddly since. His vp comes across as a complete power hungry, money grubbing a__w____. (and please DICK, the next time you go to an international function please dress for the occasion ok?). The George’s arrogant attitude and ineffective cabinet turned off many US international supporters. If GB is all that why are we facing a recession? What spin will be put on this? Why haven’t our borders been better secured? Where is our President now?? In Israel trying to beef up his presidential legacy – not here at home solving OUR problems…as in the mortgage implossion or record high gasoline prices.
So go ahead and bitch about the Hillay all you want but the bottom line is she is an unelected candidate, one among many. But what is our elected President doing for us right now, at this moment in time to help us?? NOTHING.

This post is about Democrats … why must you make it about GWB. You Democrats crack me up. Yes, we can bitch about Hillary … because everyone including Hillary herself has made her the next President.
If you think GWB is bad, wait until Hillary Clinton becomes President and destroys this country. Universal health care … what a joke that is.
I am not thrilled with GWB, but not for the reasons that liberals are.
It is comical that that Democrats cannot just be honest and comment about their own candidates. BTW … about that recession … you mean like the one that GWB was handed from Clinton?
You Democrats want to complain about what GWB has not done, yet your candidates would never have done it either. Dems are not for border security or lower taxes or less government.
Why do you think GWB has low ratings … its because he pisses off Republicans with spending, not aggressively fighting the war in Iraq and cow-tailing to Dems and that ridiculous Illegal Alien Amnesty plan.
All that aside … this is about Democrats playing the race card against each other. Please comment on the post. As far as I read, there was no mention of GWB in the entire story.

Let me add to Red’s post: This is also about the surge. Now that is one thing that GWB HAS done and yet it’s Hillary (an unelected candidate)who wishes to take credit for it!
#3 wants to condemn GWB for the border (and rightfully so) yet just what do you think Hillary will do with the border? Well we could look at history and see what her husband did to get an idea!
What Hillary will do for absolute certain is change this country into something Americans have never seen in the USA – Socialism. If you like the idea of sharing everything you’ve worked for first with the government (they take the cream) and then with everyone else who have never worked a day in their life along with the flood of illegals – vote Hillary because that’s what you will get.

Imo – Obama’s campaign released the “memo” to play the race card.
Although it wasn’t the most inspired comment she could have made, it was by no means racist.
Is Obama first generation or 2nd generation American? Is his father part of the Kikui (I know that I am mis-spelling this, sorry!) tribe or another one from Kenya. Why I ask is generally when you are first generation, the ties to the old country are strong.
So does this mean if Obama is made President, we will become involved in Kenya’s civil unrest — after all, this will involve his relatives on his father’s side. Just what we need — to be tied up in a war in Africa along with Iraq and Afganistan!!!

The nature and tone of the campaign suggests that it would be wise for Hillary to have more security, beyond that normally required of a first lady.
The history of civil rights doesn’t lend itself to taking lightly past events from the campaign of RFK, for example. It is Hillary’s safety that is of greater concern than Obama’s though both should be hot topics.
