Ooops She Did it Again … Britney Spears Hospitalized After Custody Battle Stand Off with Kevin Federline

The downward spiral of Britney Spears continues. Just when everyone thinks Spears_Hospitalthat she has hit rock bottom, she manages to prove us wrong. Last night Britney Spears was taken to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center after police were called to her home in a 3 hour denial of custody.

A child custody standoff between Britney Spears and employees of ex-husband Kevin Federline at her California home lasted three hours and ended with an intoxicated Spears releasing the children before she was carted away in an ambulance Thursday night.

According to TMZ, Spears’ youngest son, 1-year-old Jayden James, was also transported by ambulance for unknown treatment.

FOX News has confirmed that the Los Angeles Police Department was called to Spears’ home to investigate a custody dispute around 8 p.m. PST

It is believed that Britney Spear was under the influence of an unknown substance. What a shocker! When is anyone going to step in and prevent what seems to be the inevitable from happening? Do we really need to see Britney Spears turn into the next Anna Nicole Smith before our very eyes? Can someone please just step in and help this individual, instead of just making it a “reality show” gone bad? Some one has to care enough before its too late.

Lee told the Associated Press that no injuries were reported, yet Spears was believed to be under a the influence of an “unknown substance.” The mother of two has since been placed on “medical hold” in an unknown location and is awaiting medical evaluation.

Someone needs to tell Brit she is not helping her cause, here.

She needs to woman-up here and act like a mother and woman. No more exuses, just do it.

What a shame, fame and fortune gifted to her and she is blowing it.

    2. Betty on January 4th, 2008 11:45 am

      Miss-Underestimated:

Brit is addicted and not in control of any of her actions. She is in no position to “woman-up.” She needs real help and real fast. This is not simply a matter of her will.

I am so saddened to see this happening to such a nice girl. I listened to her innocent music way back when she was a little teeny boper. She was full of life and potential. Now her life is tumbling out of control and she has nobody to help her!

No mother gives up her children and chooses not to raise them unless there are serious substance abuse issues. Shame on her family and relatives for not dropping their lives to conduct an intervention to SAVE HER. It seems everybody is there for the $$$ gravy train but nobody is there to give her love and support when she needs it the most.

The train of photographers that follow her around are disgusting. Will someone please make it illegal to harrass these poor peopl? They are human beings just like the rest of us. Leave them alone!

      Lynn and the rest………

GET HER HELP BEFORE SHE KILLS HERSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!

    3. Scott on January 4th, 2008 12:44 pm

Who cares? She’s a hillbilly who has a sense of entitlement because she ONCE was a popular pop star. She’s knows her career is over. She won’t make it to 2009.

    4. Miss-Underestimated on January 4th, 2008 1:07 pm

      Betty

I respectfully disagree. This woman has lost her children to her ADDICTION, refused to attended court mandated drug testing. I am very familiar with people with addictions…..you have got to want to stop. If her children are not enough of a vehicle to stop, what is?

As far as blaming her family, you cannot MAKE a adult go to rehab, the only one that can do that is a Judge, in trade for jail time. Personal responsibilty is the only thing that can save Brit. We do not know if Brit’s family has had an intervention do you?

It is time to Woman-up…she knows she has a problem, why does she avoid the drug tests?

    5. Richard on January 4th, 2008 1:40 pm

Can anyone understand why it is necessary, important, or desirable for we the people to be subjected to daily reports on the doings of Brittney Spears?

    6. TERRI on January 4th, 2008 2:10 pm

Funny, Richard. I agree. Although I have compassion for her and her situation, I could care less to hear about it.

As far as the addiction, it affects your brain, your thinking, your will. She avoids the drug tests because she wants to take drugs. Eventually, she will hit rock bottom, after everyone important in her life refuses to have anything to do with her and she is left all alone. Then and only then will she move on to the next step of voluntary rehab. She will have hiccups along the way, but hopefully, she will get through it. It’s a shame that drugs are killing and destroying our society. I think it is the root of all evil.

    7. brenda on January 4th, 2008 4:26 pm

I think she’s lost her mind. Really.

I’ve dealt with persons experiencing terrible additions as well. In some cases, they went for help. In others, they DID NOT WANT to be helped out. Who can ever say why some want help and others never do????

I have one x-friend (female) who destroyed her family over OCs. Put $80K on credit cards to support her habit in less than 18 months before her hubby found out. She did not work outside the home and got to the mail before he did. One day he just happened to come home early and got the mail..opened an unfamiliar bill and the crap hit the fan.

She blamed him for all of it. When I confronted her about her part in taking illegal drugs…well…I am “no longer a friend”. She immediately told me off. She and Britney are the same. They LOVE their drugs and want to keep that in their lives moreso than their own kids. Just the plain and simple truth/facts.

    8. TERRI on January 4th, 2008 5:21 pm

Actually, it is a disease that affects people differently. It is not that they don’t want to get off of the drugs, but their minds and function are irrational until they don’t really know what is right and what is wrong anymore and it doesn’t take long for some people to become this way. Others don’t have much of a problem with it and they can cope more “normally”. Addicts think that they are having fun, that they like doing drugs, that it’s the best thing since sliced bread until they loose everything, have no one to help them and hit rock bottom with no where to turn. The only alternative is death or rehab. Not a pleasant position to be in.

    9. da_wench on January 4th, 2008 7:13 pm

#2 – I agree that she needs help, but an addict has to want to get well. She has to ask for help and accept the help given by professionals, and she has to accept responsibility for her own actions. There really isn’t much farther down for her to go except death. I see her checking out much the way Anna Nicole did and that is very sad…not because she’s a talented icon, but because she’s a human being and the mother of two beautiful children who need a real mother.

#3 – I hope nobody says “who cares” when you are someone in your family needs help.

#8 – That pretty much sums it up. People who do not have addiction problems cannot understand how the irrational addicted mind works and therefore cannot believe that some are incapable of admitting they are addicts or asking for and accepting help.

    10. Erin on January 4th, 2008 10:36 pm

You know, when I see think of or see Britney, its sad but I also think of Anna Nicole. Britney needs to straighten and fly right. I have dealt personally with addiction, and depression. My kids are/what have and will continue to pull me thru. I live each day for them and for myself. Granted, Im not her, and you all havent had my story all over your front page, but its much the same…

    11. lisa on January 5th, 2008 12:15 am

I feel so very sorry for Britney and have for quite some time. Who knows what has really gone on in her life? Who knows what kind of mind games some people may play with her? Her parents both need to go to her with love and open arms, live with her, never leave her, help her through whatever this problem may be. She loves her children, that’s human nature. She’s been used and abused her entire lifetime for nothing more than money! The paps need to leave her alone and so does TMZ! God bless her heart and everyone needs to pray for her full recovery.

    12. Brenda on January 5th, 2008 10:20 am

Sorry folks. Addiction is NOT…I repeat NOT a disease. It is called a CHOICE and one that can get way out of hand and cause ADDICTION both mental and physical. NOT A DISEASE!!!

Is there a single thinking soul out there in the world that is willing to say, “yes, people must take personal responsibility for being STUPID?”

Unless you are athiest, you have to believe it is a state of the soul and nothing more. Lacking of moral character gets one into these messes, and since not a person seems to want to take responsibility, they label everything a disease. Even fat slobs now think their fatness is a disease when it’s nothing more than constantly feeding their faces.

Hey, I have dealt with addiction in my own past and CHOSE to do better and did. Had to leave my husband and go back home to parents for a while so they could help. I got better, then HE got better and we are both better now. I refuse to be so freaking lame as to pretend it was a disease…

What IS this world coming to?

How about Chris Benoir!??? NO ONE will say he had a disease and couldn’t help himself. They crucify him. What’s the difference? I can tell you. Britney is cute (sort of), and Chris killed his family which people can ‘t wrap their minds around. NO DIFFERENT. They both chose their paths and that is it.

    13. Nut44x4 on January 5th, 2008 7:43 pm

She is holding a one-way ticket….to the bone yard.

    14. Blakerin on January 5th, 2008 11:55 pm

      Brensa
According to The American Medical Association:
Addiction IS a Disease! Seems to me that they would know a lot lot more than you do!

    15. B. J. on January 6th, 2008 10:31 am

Blakerin: that may be true but the AMA is talking and submitting papers to include the abuse of online gambling as an addiction, too.

The same goes for ‘internet addiction.’

Maybe, just maybe, it is because they want these breakdowns in personal responsibility to be classified as addictions so these activities will get classified as medical conditons/diseases so they will be covered by health insurance.

      $$$’s ???

    16. Jon on January 6th, 2008 4:16 pm

Damn, give her a pill and have her call her doctor in the morning…..oh, I fogot, she’s just about taken every pill there is that alter one’s senses.

    17. victoria on January 6th, 2008 5:01 pm

The reason she is the way she is…..is because we are all talking about her, buying trash magazines about her and she is the topic of attention and conversation making her more money to spend on drugs….if we all ignore her and do not purchase rag magazines about her, her money will run down and she will hopefully get over her self….cause thats what this is an ego inflated child who should be really concerned that she lost custody to another idiot.

    18. mishy on January 6th, 2008 8:34 pm

Britney may have a substance addiction, but I think she also has a severe mental illness, which is only compounded by the drug use. And since Britney has so much money, it only makes you wonder if she’ll keep doing the drugs til the money or her life runs out, whichever is first. I pray that is not the way it plays out for this girl. Fame is very dangerous for some, especially those who became child stars and had the world in their back pocket…

Note to Brenda: Addiction is not a choice. It is a disease. You have to want to get help for your disease, but ultimately rehab and other treatments are no guarantee…

    19. Rick on January 7th, 2008 1:20 am

Actually, who gives a ……….about Miss Spears? I guess TMZ.com and the Enquirer does. Maybe even Geraldo. Happy 2008 to those that really care. What about the husband, Kevin.

    20. MsVada on January 7th, 2008 2:05 pm

mishy, You hit the nail on the head.

I feel bad for Britney, she sure has some sort of mental illness going on and she needs serious inpatient help or else I fear that we’re going to be reading about her death. I am sure the drugs and alcohol are compounding her mental health making things worse for her. Hopefully she gets the help she needs.

Kudos to Kevin for stepping up and caring for his boys. Apparently he’s done some growing up in the past year.

    21. brie on January 8th, 2008 7:30 pm

I hope she can recover, get well and enjoy her life and her children….the media just cannot leave her alone… she’s so young and so sick….that is a shame…it wasn’t always like for her

    22. nancy on January 10th, 2008 5:49 am

Britney Spears’ lawyers worked out a child-custody holiday schedule on Monday, while the child-welfare department asked for all files in the case.
