There is gutless, there is cowardice and then there is corrupt. In some special cases we get all three … Welcome to the “Perfect Storm” of anti-investigation and prosecution of the Natalee Holloway case, known as Aruba.
If you are an Aruban today, you should be ashamed and embarrassed. You should also be up in arms as your island that depends on tourism just took another hit. No one in their right mind would travel to a place where suspects get out of jail and off murder wrap free cards are handed out on a who you know basis. Tourists obviously have no legal or judicial recourse for crimes committed against them in Aruba.
Of course one wonders how could one prosecute a “a violent crime or culpable 
homicide,” if the fix was in from the outset by investigators refusing to investigate. We go back to those initial comments by Paul Van der Sloot, “if there is no body, there is no crime”. Isn’t it amazing that the Aruban prosecutor referenced those similar words. Isn’t it more amazing that Paul Van der Sloot made the comment in the first place. The answer to any thinking person is … because he knew they never would.
The fact that the body of the missing teenager was never found is for the OM ‘an important shortage’ in the possible reconstruction of what had exactly happened. “Because of that, the current dossier cannot give sufficient answer on the question which punishable facts took place in the night of Holloway’s disappearance, nor can it answer the question what the exact role of the suspects was in this”
What kind of BS is this!!! You people had all the evidence right in front of you and you refused to take action. Oh that’s right … you arrested two black security guards in an effort to railroad them for the crime against Natalee Holloway. What a convenient excuse that there is no body. Hmm … just like Paul Van der Sloot mentioned … hmmm. So what happens if Texas EquuSearch finds Natalee Holloway’s body? What excuse will you have then to not prosecute the three people who were last seen with Natalee before she disappeared forever.

ORANJESTAD – The Public Prosecutor (OM) decided not to prosecute the three suspects in the Holloway-case. The dossier does not have enough evidence for a violent crime or culpable homicide. Also the burden of proof for possible legal evidence is not sufficient, concluded the OM.
The OM informed the suspects Joran van der Sloot (20) and the brothers Deepak (24) and Satish Kalpoe (21) this morning that they are no longer being prosecuted. Also the American lawyer of the parents of Natalee Holloway was informed. The fact that the body of the missing teenager was never found is for the OM ‘an important shortage’ in the possible reconstruction of what had exactly happened. “Because of that, the current dossier cannot give sufficient answer on the question which punishable facts took place in the night of Holloway’s disappearance, nor can it answer the question what the exact role of the suspects was in this”, said the OM. That the suspects continued to be silent during the recent interrogations was also a disappointment for the OM, because they have assumed that the suspects would start talking this time. The OM emphasizes though that if they find new important evidence, the prosecution will start again till the offences become barred, which is 6 years for culpable homicide and 12 years for manslaughter. The bailiff of the OM informed Lawyer Ariean de Bie of this between 11:00 and 12:00 this morning. “That definitely concludes the case”, said De Bie. “All’s well that ends well. There was just not enough evidence.” Yet, it could have just turned the other way. “The OM was constantly talking about less serious facts, for which they could have been prosecuted. But that didn’t happen. They never had any evidence, just indications. And could their indications have legalized this exercise? I wonder why they kept saying: we have evidence, we have evidence.” (Amigoe12/19/2007)

A neighbor who was just in Aruba said that the locals were saying that even if they find Natalee in a cage in the ocean WITH Joran’s shoes in it or nearby, as well as, a cell phone or two – Joran will claim that he left his shoes with Natalee on the beach and whomever took her also took his shoes. The neighbor’s reply was: “I am never coming back here. Everything is so corrupt. Look at all these drug dealers – in the hotels, on the beaches, by all the nightclubs. This place is dirty, windy, stray dogs, so bad. Too bad you people couldn’t clean this place up.”
God will judge all these people – if any of them think they are Catholic, they know their destiny. Sooner or later.
Well, even the ancient democratic Greeks and Romans wrote that there should be a word and a word against it.
And even if so, Scared Monkeys wrote in this article “If you are an Aruban today, you should be ashamed and embarrassed.”
Excuse me ? I am not an Aruban, neither an American, neither a Dutchman. But free journalism will always try to keep an objective picture for the audience, and not a painted one. Why should roughly 60.000 Arubans be ashamed ? First Joran is Dutch, the two Surinamese Borthers obviously from Suriname.
Second, public opinion, in Aruba as well as the Netherlands is more interested in figuring out what happened to Natalee and where she is, then pointing the fingure in a commonly accepted direction, namely Joran.
Third, the position of Aruba, which tried to be independent for some time, not -only- heavely depending on American dollars, but more on Dutch tax payers money, is not so Dutch as everyone thinks. Conservative Dutch policy makers told roughly six months ago, that when Aruba (and the other islands of the Antille) don´t get there finance on other, they will sell the islands on E-Bay to the highest bidder.
Fourth, we are still talking about a missing girl. With her family suffering without doubt the worst hardship through the Chrismas time. All my thoughts and prayers are with the family.

It had to be closed this week, because all government officials go on holliday for the comming two weeks ! An Average Dutch governmental employee get 25 days + 12 days + all official celebration days free. TEMPORARILY case closed, untill new evidence is discovered.

Say what? All’s well that ends well? What ended well for Natalee? What ended well for Beth and Dave? This is so heartless beyond belief. It’s like Tacopina and the van der snoots holding a party – Natalee Holloway, an American teen with huge promise is DEAD.
This whole thing smells and I’m guessing that it has to do with the Persistence actually finally looking in the right place. That way, if they find Natalee’s body, the Arubans can say that the evidence is tainted, planted, blah blah blah. Hurry up and close the case, release any evidence that they have to the media so that the courts will throw it out and then accuse Dave and Beth of planting the only evidence Aruba didn’t get their hands on to make it disappear.

If you are a stockholder of any company that owns a hotel building or does other business with Aruba, you can make your opinion known to the board of directors of the company. Write to them and let them know you will vote accordingly at the next stockholder’s meeting, or better yet, dump their stock!

They have had everything they need to prosecute those perps since the beginning…including Natalee…but have done nothing except destroy evidence and lie. The problem we’ve seen in Aruba is not just an Aruban thing. It’s a thing that goes on in Mexico as well as on other Caribbean Islands. I saw a special on TV about Spring Breaks Gone Bad and I don’t want to say I was shocked, but well….
Examples from the show:
3 guys went to Cancun on a travel package. They took a bus to go out to bar hop but missed their stop so they got off at the next stop where they were accosted by cops, robbed and beaten up and they couldn’t even get any help because it was the cops who did it. The next night, the cops got them again in some other location. They didn’t encounter any more episodes with the cops after they moved to a different hotel. Seems they thought their hotel was targeted as a place where locals and cops who were up to no good with tourists stalked to take advantage of tourists.
Mark Kiljoy went across the Texas border to some party town in Mexico. He did not return with his group of friends. He was found to have been kidnapped and eaten by a drug cult that believed if they ate the brain of a smart person they would be smarter. Mark was 21, a pre-med student considered by his friends to be the smartest of them, just like Natalee. When they finally found Mark’s body there were 12 others buried in the same place who had met the same fate of being eaten, but the cops were unaware, or so they said, that any others had been reported missing. It was just that Mark’s family didn’t let go that made it possible he was eventually found….along with so many others.
So I mean, horrid things go on in the world all over the place, but it seems these places designated as party places are prime spots to have something horrible happen to you which the cops won’t handle properly because they are in on it.

It’s sickening to me that there still is no closure for Natalee’s family. We all want the truth to come out and the guilty parties tried and convicted. I do think the lynch mob mentality only serves to discredit those who believe J2K (with the help of papa Sloot and others) caused Natalee’s death and disappearance. There has to be a system. When the system doesn’t work, the people of that country have to change it. It is not our right or responsibility to abolish corruption in foreign countries. We still have plenty of that in our own country. Only Arubans can change Aruba. All we can do is tell Natalee’s story and hope that travelers choose not to spend their money on an island that cares nothing about their civil or human rights. There are a lot of other missing persons here and abroad, and there are living people being victimized by foreign governments as well. There are so many causes and such little time.
I met Beth Holloway a few months ago at one of her book signings. I have a deep admiration for her. She has suffered the most horrific ordeal of her life and is determined to prevent it from happening to other families. It is people like us who have helped give Natalee’s family the strength to move forward. We helped to show them that they were not alone. We have to use positive energy to make positive changes. I know that I have had sudden urges to reach through the tv to scratch out the eyes of a smirking suspect (in this case as well as others) and I hate it when I let angry take over my senses. I have often wondered if Joran would die of natural causes or by some freak accident in the near future. But we have to be better than Joran, better than Paulus, better than Aruban law enforcement, better than Aruban government. Sometimes life is not fair. Sometimes crimes go unpunished. We must do our best to seek and administer justice, but when we cannot, we must let go and let a higher power have control…for our own health and sanity.
I hope that Natalee’s body is some day recovered and that the whole truth will be learned, but I refuse to let my anger control me for one more minute. I believe that the guilty ones here will suffer a private hell for the rest of their living days and their punishment will come in this life, or the next. Let’s follow Beth’s example of strength and determination and do what we can to make a difference in the lives of others. We need to spread the word about Aruba and other unsafe travel destinations, we need to love and protect our children by teaching them to be smart and safe no matter where they are, and we need to support each other in those efforts.
My neighbors knows. They won a 4-day all-inclusive vacation there in some magazine contest. Told me they didn’t spend a dime and they felt the resentment toward Americans. There were practically no tourists anywhere.

Yes – mainly angry that they weren’t spending any money. NADA. Everything was included in their prize – airfare, hotel accommodations, food at the hotel, drinks, coupon for cab ride to their hotel and back, etc. They had been told there were no places to visit so they just stayed at their hotel. They don’t gamble so the casinos were of no interest. When they checked out, their hotel bill was zero. Apparently, when they brought up the subject of Natalee was when their attitude was evident. They were approached by drug dealers at the hotel pool and beach area, disguised as hotel employees (at least they thought that).
Does anyone know if the any of the beaches are considered “private” – only for the exclusive use of each hotel?

The truth as I see it about the case closing, is that this case was closed from the get go. It closed on May 31, 2005.
It just wasn’t made official until now.
Meaning of course, that the Aruban LE flunkies, including the Prosecutors (excluding one in particular), Van Der Sloot’s favorite judge, and especially the so-called “police”, with their fat bellies and extra bowls of Corn Flakes, simply went through the motions.
There never was really an investigation. More importantly, there was an investigation to “stop and divert THE investigation”. It was theatre. A show. It was “An Aruban Play”.
And if ever there is ever a movie made of this incident, that is what it should be called, “An Aruban Play”. And “the play”, the “staging” was there for our benefit. To give us a good impression of Aruba. A safe Aruba. An Aruba where, for no apparent reason, one can disappear into the night, never to be heard from again. And the epilogue for that ‘play’ will be entitled, “We tried.”

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The family of missing American teenager Natalee Holloway on Wednesday blamed mistakes by Aruban investigators for bringing the case to a dead end after more than two years of searching.
The girl’s stepfather, Jug Twitty, said he believes witnesses in the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba know what happened but are not coming forward, and he criticized prosecutors’ decision to drop the case against the only known suspects.
“It’s also I think a sad day for the Aruban people because the officials there are inept,” Twitty told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from Birmingham, Alabama. Natalee’s mother, Beth Twitty, referred a reporter’s questions about the handling of the case to Jug Twitty.
The Aruba Public Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday it will not charge the three young men who were seen leaving a bar with Holloway on May 30, 2005, the night she vanished during a trip to the island with members of her Mountain Brook, Alabama, high school graduating class.
Jug Twitty said the girl’s mother was considering appealing the prosecutor’s decision and hoped a new search by a Texas-based private group in the waters off Aruba might find Holloway’s body.
The three suspects — Joran van der Sloot and brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe — were re-arrested last month and questioned for several days before their release. Prosecutors said they still believe the young men played a role in the girl’s disappearance, but they cannot prove it without recovering her body. She was 18 when she vanished.
Detectives are assigned to review any new evidence that surfaces in the case, said John Pauly, a communications consultant for the prosecutor’s office. Pauly added that prosecutors will detail some evidence at a news conference Thursday at the Aruban prime minister’s office.
Van der Sloot, 20, a college student who was re-arrested in the Netherlands, declined to comment when reached Wednesday morning at his parents’ home in Aruba.
“I’m sorry but I really have better things to do than this, OK?” he told the AP over the phone.
Jug Twitty, who recently divorced Beth Twitty, said police botched the investigation from the start by waiting nine days to arrest the three suspects, giving them “plenty of time to cover their tracks.”
“There are also people I believe that know what happened but won’t say anything because they have to live on that island,” he said.
Complaints the last two years about the handling of the investigation prompted calls for a tourism boycott by officials in the United States, including Alabama Gov. Bob Riley.
“We’ll be glad when it’s out of the media … We’ve suffered enough,” said John Herbert, a receptionist at the Arubiana Inn on the island of white sand beaches off the coast of Venezuela.

Oduber disputes the fact that he himself had recently approached a group to come look for the girl in Aruba. “I am sick and tired of the case. I do not talk about this case with people; not with the Attorney General, not with the OM. In the beginning I have discussed the matter with the American FBI, but I do not do that anymore. The OM and the Aruban police are doing the investigation and they have to try to conclude it right. I think that Aruba can do the investigation right herself, but if the OM and the police are of the opinion that they need assistance from abroad, they can get that. I am not the one to decide on that.”

For two and a half years, one American family has been fighting a foreign government in trying to learn their daughter’s fate overseas. I don’t think that any sane person can doubt the existence of a cover-up in Aruba … if so, then the only alternative belief is that Aruba is neither capable of nor interested in protecting the well-being of foreign tourists.

Who cares what Aruba has to say. The Prime Minister said it in his own words that were later repeated, just last week, by the Minister of Justice: The recovery of Natalee’s remains would be the embarrassment of 97,000 people and the island would lose its’ reputation for being the safe and happy island. Since then, there has been nothing safe or happy about Aruba. There have been numerous suspicious deaths of people that some believe have ties to this case, or perhaps people who knew too much. Two network news workers were found hung in the open, outside their homes and all we get from Aruba is lip service. There is no justice in Aruba… only the vigulante justice that comes from being a member of the Arawak Nation and the safety that comes from not seeing, hearing, speaking or being touched by anything. Aruba is permanently buried with their heads in the sand. They will never solve this crime; because by doing so, they have to admit a cover-up… besides, how many people would go down with them? If the Prime Minister says there are 97,000 people that would be embarrassed by what was done to Natalee, how many were actually involved, either directly or indirectly.
I hope and pray that Natalee is found in international waters, where she can be returned to her home and be examined forensically. That is my hope. I hope that, by her being found and in respect of the words spoken by Mr. Moes concerning Natalee being dead, we can use our own laws, our own law enforcement agencies, and our own judicial system to find justice for Natalee and peace for her family. Prosecutors believe that the three were involved in Holloway’s disappearance but they say that without her body they could not go on. Van der Sloot Wednesday from the home of his parents in Aruba refused to comment.

Just what is Joe’s role in this case? Doesn’t it seem like if he were directly involved in being Joran’s lawyer he’d have known of Joran’s release from the suspect list before Joran had to call him?
Something seems bogus about Joe and Joran’s relationship IMO. Could Joe be the ‘mafia’ connection to what became of Natalee? If so, then one should consider her disappearance may have been a direct or indirect result of ‘mafia’ protection of their interests, such as gambling, drugs or prostitution.

Joe did not seem so giddy as before. I’m a pretty good reader of faces and he seemed a bit worried more than happy about Joran being off the suspect list. And with good reason actually. Now that Joran is not a suspect he could be called in as a witness…and as we all know in Aruba ‘law’ a witness is not allowed to lie to the cops without prosecution; only a suspect is allowed to lie. Joran could be called in as a witness to a completely new direction in this case. Joran should not be so happy right now that he is in a position of perhaps having to be questioned about something other than only his own involvement.
IMO Joran was safer as a suspect than he is now that he is fair game.
Does anyone recall Anita saying (when Joran was in jail back in 2005) that she thought he’d be SAFE in there?

Whom could Joran have been protecting by agreeing to sit in jail? If it’s anyone other than Paulus, I’d think he is not so free.

If what you say is true – that Joran saw Natalee in other locations, besides the fact that these events also took place:

2. A hotel employee stated that it was a known fact that Joran van der Sloot preyed upon young female tourists, especially – the blondes.
3. a Police tub named Jacobs told Dave Holloway to “watch his drink” if he went to C n C’s because he was aware that drugs were slipped into drinks.
Then – it appears that Aruba’s government was engaged in concealing this predatory activity from the American public because if Americans were to learn that their children were targets of terrorist activity in Aruba, – imagine the damage that would cause to their tourism.

The whole situation with North Korea making profits off of drug traffiking and money laundering that is used to PURCHASE NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

It appears to trouble the double standard of Poopst, who – wants to attack Bob for his desire to use WATER, to wash the evil out from Joran, Deepak and Satish – yet, it doesn’t seem to bother Poopst in the least – that Natalee was literally dumped in a vast body of WATER – as in the ocean, or GOD only knows where Mr. “No Corpse, No Case” PUT HER.
That’s a real nice double standard you have there, Poopst, to assail Bob for claiming America’s right to know what these devils did to this child, and that indeed – there are ways that the ALE could have used that would have incorportated the FBI’s expertise, in order to squeeze the vile from their twisted lips, but – the fact of the matter is, the TRUTH was never something that Van der Straten was interested in.
Neither was there any concern for Natalee in wanting to “find her”.
After all, if Van der Straten and Dompig wanted to “find Natalee”, they would have picked up the phone and asked for help from the FBI. They would have allowed those divers into the water and given them search targets. They would have made the phone call for Tim Miller that would have allowed Tim to search the waters in the areas that he had identified as prime targets for a search.
But, we all know that the FBI was NOT what ODUBER WANTED. And finding Natalee was never even on the agenda, so why allow Tim Miller to conduct a water search? That’s why Dompig didn’t bother picking up the phone to make the necessary call that was required in order for Tim to be permitted to search. That’s why Tim never even got into the water. Dompig wouldn’t make the call.
But WHO was Dompig taking his orders from?
ODUBER. That’s who.
Why allow the FBI divers into the water?
After all, they might find something – or see something that they were never supposed to see or find, or maybe it would just set a precedent that the unscrupulous couldn’t handle, because they feared their insidious evil would be exposed for all the world to see, and they knew the FBI could not be deceived by the depravity of the corrupt, unscrupulous monsters in Aruba.

If one of them said that in a chat to someone then it is not old evidence unless one of them had already told the cops Natalee was dead. And if they had told that to the cops before then they have admitted knowledge that she was dead and should have been held until they told how they knew that or retracted it as another lie.
This is BS, IMO.
Mos has no reason not to tell which one of the gang said that in the chat. I think he’s bluffing. There was no chat session. We’re talking about the internet here, so first they’d have to get legal permission to prove who was really online chatting – unless they somehow have the boys’ computers bugged, and even then they’d need proof of who was typing.
This entire case is a joke because the authorities keep on grabbing at things they know will not hold up with a judge. Where are the things that might be more damning?
The way this case has rolled, it is apparent they (can’t define they) know what really happened to Natalee because they are quite adept at avoiding anything damning regarding her disappearance. An innocent person would not be able to do this.
