John Edwards Hypocrisy to Americans … Sacrifice your SUV, Do as I Say … Not as I Do
Democratic Presidential candidate continued his “hypocrisy” campaign in front of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The “Two Americas” candidate is now asking Americans to sacrifice their SUV’s.
The former North Carolina senator told a forum by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, yesterday he thinks Americans are willing to sacrifice.
Edwards says Americans should be asked to drive more fuel efficient vehicles. He says he would ask them to give up SUVs.

This request would not be so out of line if John Edwards only followed his own advice. Americans demand of their leaders, leadership. Not candidates telling them what to do and ignoring their own advice. There is more to energy conservation than SUV’s candidate Edwards. What’s the carbon foot print on your home? How green a policy do you have during your campaigning?

Just think of how much flurocarbons Mr. Edward’s is putting in the atmosphere with all that hairspray.
do we not have a president in the white house now that does exactly the opposite of what the citizens are requesting of him? abusing his position , defending criminal politicians that blatantly break the law.
we are blessed that Speedy Gonzales is gone. Slow Poke Rodriguez (W) is not far behind!
Dave – Ever president under the sun has done the same damn thing, so stfu, okay?
every, not ever – add the “y” Dave made me mad, grrrrrrrrr!!
SDave,
Rightfully so, but, this battle with President Bush has been going on for over 20 years. I remember an-ex Presidents Supreme Court Justice nominee had an illegal houskeeper/nanny.
We are just more aware now and making this President Bushes problem. How much have we heard from the Presidential Candidates on illegals?
Not too much.
I was wondering how can we be sure this is JE house? Lake buena vista is Disney, when the name comes up. Ill hold my comment till further verification. Im not ready to jump on some picture, that shows cars and jump again to think these are his? Is there a link to the Orange county property records? DO we have DMV record of SUV under his name. If no then you can’t convict right?
Chapter 67-1965 of the Laws of Florida, incorporating the City of Reedy Creek, was signed into law by Governor Claude R. Kirk, Jr. on May 12, 1967, the same day he also signed chapters 67-764 (creating the Reedy Creek Improvement District) and 67-1104 (incorporating the City of Bay Lake). It was located fully inside the Reedy Creek Improvement District. The city was controlled by The Walt Disney Company and allowed it powers that other area attractions have not had.
Chapter 69-1527, which became a law on July 3, 1969 without the Governor’s approval, redefined the city boundaries. The city was completely moved, taking over some land that had been part of the City of Bay Lake (and was given up by Chapter 69-836, which became a law the same day) and including some other land that had formerly been unincorporated. Soon after, the City of Reedy Creek was renamed to the City of Lake Buena Vista to better reflect its new location, through which Reedy Creek did not flow. “Buena Vista” comes from the name of the street in Burbank, California where The Walt Disney Company is located.
The Reedy Creek Improvement District had all the powers of the City and more, raising the questions of why cities needed to be incorporated inside it. Walt Disney’s original plans for the site included at least one futuristic living area. This was never built, but some of the ideas were incorporated into Epcot and later Celebration, Florida. The only residents of the city are Disney employees that live in a small community on Royal Oak Court, north of Downtown Disney. The only landowners are fully owned subsidiaries of Disney, and right-of-way for state and county roads.
Has anyone considered asking the people in Congress to give up their FREE flights back home on military planes when they need to check in with the people they “represent”?
Let those who talk about sacrifice take the lead.
(BTW, do Congressmen still get free haircuts in the Congressional barber shop?)
I believe that is a pickup on the far left hand side not a SUV.
I look at it this way, we’re the idiots, we line up along the sidelines aligned with either the democrats or GOP like it’s a sporting event, cheering for our favorite team. Meanwhile, they are all laughing and milking us stupid.
#7 – Richard. Look at their pension fund. It’s criminal.
I know … Social Security is supposed to be good enough for us hoi polloi, but Congress wouldn’t dream of being in that.
If memory serves, all federal employees have their own, independently financed retirement system … superior by far to Social Security.
Richard – The Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) was slam dunked back in the mid ’80s and was replaced by the Federal Employees Retirement System better known as “FERS”. CSRS employees were given the option of staying with the old system or changing over to the new. New federal employees coming into the system in the mid ’80s were automatically enrolled into FERS. CSRS has been referred to as “the cadillac” of all retirement systems. Federal employees under FERS do pay into social security
Congress has their very own INDEPENDENT retirement system with better benefits than either CSRS or FERS employees. So no, not all “federal employees” are as fortunate as CONGRESS Go figure…
Thanks for setting things straight, Susan. We can imagine that Congress will make sure that its own benefits are at the top of the tree.
Meanwhile, the amount of money that goes into political races every year seems to explode.
You are welcome, Richard Not a problem.
I just hate to see the every day, average government employee taking the heat for Congress or anyone else It still amazes me when I hear someone (who is very much misinformed) say that government employees are rich…LMAO! Oh well.
Do you remember when CONGRESS voted themselves a FIFTY PERCENT RAISE sometime back (’80s, maybe early ’90s? Geezzzzz!!
I thought there might be a FP on Larry Craig, must still be working on the angle of how Hillary, Obama, and Kerry set him up.

SM: No Indy … but unlike I guess your hero Bill Clinton at least this scum bag had the common decency to step down. At least his party was outraged by his actions. Who in the Democratic party asked for Clinton to resign for his actions? Em, NONE!
Who knew Senators had a higher bar to maintain than a Democratic President like Slick Willy. Try not to be such a “WA”. There are pathetic scum bag, over privilaged politicians on all sides … put the Kool-Aide down.

3. I doubt they are all his
4. It looks to me like the estate is in a state of construction/ remodeling. How unusual, a construction / maintenance crew having SUVs.
