Al Gore’s Global Warming on Display this Weekend
Al Gore has ranted about Global warming and that its the greatest threat to our society. Obviously Al Gore missed the “global war” on terrorism and he also may be turning a blind eye to the weather this Easter holiday weekend. I guess this abnormally cold weather is a result of global warming as well?
Forecaster Blasts Gore on Global Warming
A top hurricane forecaster called Al Gore “a gross alarmist” Friday for making an Oscar-winning documentary about global warming.
“He’s one of these guys that preaches the end of the world type of things. I think he’s doing a great disservice and he doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” Dr. William Gray said in an interview with The Associated Press at the National Hurricane Conference in New Orleans, where he delivered the closing speech.

Record lows for the Masters Golf tournament in Augusta, GA.
AUGUSTA, Georgia (Reuters) – Ear-muffs and mittens, parkas and fleece…the patrons of Augusta National looked dressed for skiing rather than the third round of the Masters on Saturday.
“I’m wearing long johns, a sweater and a jacket,” Roberta Goslen of Conyers, Georgia told Reuters. “I’m ready.”
Overnight temperatures fell below freezing and with icy winds gusting to 20-mph, talk turned to wind-chill numbers among the fans who staked out prime positions at the par-three 16th.
Low Life Who Abused Doberman Puppy Get Sentenced to Jail
What kind of an individual would abuse a helpless puppy? Animals that depend 100% upon their owners and this is how they are treated. One really has to wonder what type of control issues have to be going on with people that would do such things to animals. Of course this is just a precursor for the escalation of abuse. It takes a really big man to abuse a helpless puppy. Maybe the punishment should have been to be put in a room with some adult dobermans.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges after bringing a 7-month-old Doberman puppy with broken ribs and leg injuries to a shelter and telling the workers there that his hands hurt from hitting her.
Isaak Gowhari, 34, was sentenced Thursday to 45 days in county jail after entering his plea to the misdemeanor counts. The judge also barred Gowhari from owning an animal for three years.
Gowhari’s telephone number was unlisted and he could not immediately be reached for comment.
They Eat Their Own: Sheehan Now Blasting Democrats
You knew this would happen, Cindy Sheehan thinks that she is the architect of the Democratic victory in the 2006 elections. Now she is demanding that the Democratic Party end the war in Iraq immediately, or face the consequences.
“They got there and they betrayed the grass roots that put them back there,” she said. “We can’t depend on the Democrats.”
The Democrats are locked in a bitter struggle with Bush over an emergency war funding bill that would set a timetable calling for a withdrawal of US forces from the strife-torn country in 2008.
“The timeline is now, not 18 months, not two years,” said Sheehan.
The anti-war movement “lost a little momentum during the elections, but it’s picking up again” because “the Democrats aren’t really doing anything” to end the conflict, she said. via AFP
Now I would love to see ol Nancy Pelosi stay in the country and work on creating a peace accord for her own party instead of creating a mess in the Middle East. Of course, it may be that she see’s a better chance of success in the Middle East than in the Democratic Party.
IPod Saves Soldiers Life
In the past it would have been a bible, but the IPod sure did the job saving Kevin Garrad’s life in Iraq.
Kevin Garrad of the 3rd Infantry Division is an Ipod user for life—which incidentally got extended thanks to Apple’s little music player. He was on patrol in Iraq when he met an armed insurgent carrying an AK-47. Both opened fire, and the bullet heading toward Kevin hit his chest right where his IPod was, which was enough to slow down the bullet to not pierce entirely through the body armor.
The fact that he had a 20GB (older and thicker) iPod probably helped slow down the bullet more than if he had one of the newer (and thinner) 30GB ones. In that sense, an Archos would probably be enough to stop a tank shell.
Aruba: Hypocrites … MEP & Oduber call for Call for Boycott of Diario
Isn’t this priceless? The very people who have whined about a tourism boycott of the Aruban island are calling for a commercial boycott of an Aruban business. Aruban officials and their tourism boards have actively campaigned against the notion of a boycott by American tourists against Aruba in response for the handling of the Natalee Holloway case. Now MEP and their leader Nelson Oduber are calling for a boycott against Jossy Mansur and the Diario newspaper.
You can’t have it both ways folks. Not too hypocritical now are we? Complain when it hurts your economic interests and then call for boycotts when you wish to silence your critics. Democracy alive and well on “One Happy Island”.
Amigoe, April 4, 2007: Diario turns to Queen
ORANJESTAD – In an open letter, staff and management of the morning paper Diario have asked the Queen’s attention for the commercial boycott called by the MEP and her leader, Prime Minister Nelson Oduber.
MEP demanded the owner and also director and chief editor Jossy Mansur to publicly apologize to MEP and premier Oduber for all the articles he has published with the intention to damage the reputation of the government and MEP. Mansur has till last Monday to do this, otherwise, the MEP will announce a boycott against Diario.
Since Mansur ignored MEP’s ultimatum, the party decided on a total boycott of the newspaper. No information must be given to Diario. MEP-member had to cancel their subscription as per immediate.. They are also not allowed to buy the paper separately. They cannot place ads in the Diario.
That’s the reason for Diario’s letter to the Queen. He expressed his concern in this letter and asks the Queen to ‘safeguard our constitutional rights’.
