Al Arabiya TV Reports Saddam Hussein Is Officially Pushing Up Daisies

It is official according to Al Arabiya via Fox News … Saddam Hussein will not be down for breakfast. Saddam has been executed.

More from Rusty at The Jawa Report. And here as well.

Arab TV stations report Hussein hanged

This is rather official and stately looking from CNN. Go figure.

Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has been executed, according to two Arabic language media outlets. Earlier, an Iraqi judge told CNN Hussein would be hanged before dawn on Saturday in Iraq. (CNN)

As Michelle Malkin is wondering, so are we … “How long before it’s on YouTube?” Not Long, Tess Found it on Google Video.

“I saw fear, he was afraid,”

The Gateway Pundit has a fantastic array of coverage of the death of “the butcher of Baghdad” and his final hours.

Dictator Who Ruled Iraq With Violence Is Hanged for Crimes Against Humanity

In a statement written in advance, Mr. Bush said Mr. Hussein “was executed after receiving a fair trial — the kind of justice he denied the victims of his brutal regime.” (NY Times)

UPDATE: Now for the more graphic video of the Saddam hanging (Hat Tip: Vinnie)

For those questioning whether Saddam Hussein was really hanged, he is looking rather dead in this picture. Saddam Hussein will not be down for breakfast.

I have not seen the face after hanging, when I do,
I will believe it. How do we know who was under that hood?

    2. Kate on December 29th, 2006 10:53 pm

The face was shown briefly on Al Jaeera, about 30 minutes ago, not to be shown since. He looked eerily like his sons, after they were gone.

I am thinking the same thing as Ms. Molly at # 1.
Don’t trust the media or Iraq.

      Let’s move on world…..

Hopefully, after phoney protests by Sunni’s, the resistance will be squashed and Iraq can move on.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. Can’t Aruba get capital punishment for Paulus and his fellow perps?

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS. May the Sunni’s and the Shiite’s find some common ground and govern there country in a way that will be not only beneficial for them and there cultue, but also for the world.

Ding dong the wicked Dictator is dead!
Now the people of Iraq, Stand up and give the outsiders the boot, take back your wonderful county and rule it yourselves. Don’t let God get twisted to favor a handful of people pretending to be iraqi’s… Rise up and run them back to the boarders and live in harmony in Eden.

      Just my thoughts

    13. Mortella on December 30th, 2006 10:28 am

#12 Amen to that! I do hope this will quell fears that some have that Saddam would some how regain power. I also hope that his supporters and the rest of the Sunnis will realize they must work in harmony with other Iraqis and not make divisive problems.

All Iraqis should now be able to live in peace and harmony as posted in #12. Stop fighting each other so our troops can leave and Iraq can take its rightful place as a stable and respectable country. Get rid of the killers and terrorists and embrace each other and all Iraqis regardless of their belief system oe ethnicity. They are still Iraqis and just as all different segments in other countries get along, they can and must in Iraq. Representative government, not rule of the gun! Rule of law, not rule of man.

I toasted to his hanging last night – L-P kosher(thought it was a nice twist).
Osama, come out come out where ever you are…I’ll find some NY bubbles and toast that when his times up.

    15. Mortella on December 30th, 2006 10:37 am

The taking of any human life is sad for me. I don’t feel any joy that this had to be done but only sorrow that a human being could stoop so low that his fellow man had to exterminate him.

Guess I am just not emotionally equipped well to handle capital punishment and yet I believe it is the right thing to do in certain instances such as this one. It sort of makes me feel queasy and kind of sick.

The Old Testament says to deliver even a glutton up to the gates of the city to be stoned so while I do support the death penalty, it still is sad for me when it has to be used. I don’t want to see any vid or photos and will take the word of the coalition representative who was present.

I know full well that there is evil in this world and people must pay and be held accountable and I fully support this action but it is with a heavy heart knowing that this human did so much harm to others. His Vitim’s deserve justice and perhaps this will help in some way. Guess I like to think we have evolved beyond this kind of barbarian but obviously from the condition of the world today, we have not.

Heard on TV that Iraq is the first country to try and execute a former dicator under their own rule of law. People risked their lives for this trial and it is something of which Iraq can be very proud. May God Bless that Nation and bring it Peace.

    16. yoyo muffintop on December 30th, 2006 11:29 am

Hey Sadam, wonder if you can hear us up here? You’re with Satan now. Enjoyin’ it down there? Pretty hot, huh? Hopefully you’re Afghan buddy and a certain N Korean will be joining you soon!

    17. MOLLY on December 30th, 2006 12:25 pm

Now I believe he is dead. I saw the noose tightened.
      I hope this teaches him a lesson..lol

    18. micah on December 30th, 2006 1:53 pm

      To Ahmadinejad: Take note.

    19. lady_justice on December 30th, 2006 4:24 pm

He brought this on himself when he thumbed his nose to the world regarding UN sanctions. The world is a better place with him not in it.

As for Ahmadinejad, this man is a zealot nutcase. I & all my friends & family protested on the steps of the Capital in Jackson Miss for our fellow American’s held hostage in the American Embassy in Iran. This loser was involved up to his neck in the hostage taking & seen on tv as American’s were herded arround for the world to see. When i learned this bastard had been elected as Iran’s new President i was like WTF? I was very dismayed that the people of Iran would vote him in, i guess i thought after thirty years the young Iranian’s wanted more for themselves & their children than being mired in hatred & destruction of their own people and country.

    20. Tess on December 30th, 2006 7:06 pm

To anyone interested I now have the actual execution saved to my hard drive, not just the noose around his neck, but of him actually dropping thru the floor. Sorry I sound saddistic, just had to see for myself he was dead.

    21. lady_justice on December 30th, 2006 8:08 pm

      post it Tess

    22. Gayle on December 30th, 2006 8:21 pm

#20 Tess, Where can I view your pictures? Maybe I’m saddistic also but I want to see him get what he deserves!

    23. Tess on December 30th, 2006 8:56 pm

This was taken by a cell phone so bear in mind thats its not very good video. I still can’t figure out how to convert but here is the link to it
Actual footage of him dropping thru the trap door and swinging

      Thanks Red!

      Happy New Year!

After several years justice caught up with one of the world’s most despised and hated murderers.
Can’t help but wonder how long it’s gonna take for justice to find it’s way to the murdering VanDerSloot home.

    27. Desiree on December 31st, 2006 12:55 pm

Indy Dan, be carefull what you are saying. What if proof comes soon that Natalee’s dissapearance has nothing to do with the van der Sloots. 2007 will be an interesting year.
Let’s hope there will be closure for Beth and Dave soon.
Happy New Year, enjoy your loved ones and don’t forget Natalee.

      ______________

SM:   IMO, it’s more likely that proof or confession will come soon that they had EVERYTHING to do with Natalee’s disappearance.   (klaasend)

    28. Desiree on December 31st, 2006 1:28 pm

I hope we will have any proof soon to what happened to Natalee . Till then and I am sure that day will come I don’t understand the hate people are showing here. It makes me aware of many things and certainly is an eye opener to human behaviour. My parents didn’t have the money to let me study nor did I have the possibilities later in life but otherwise it should have been psychology. Interesting stuff!
Have a wonderfull New Year klaasend together with your loved ones.I hope that truth may reveal soon based on facts.
