30 Days Or Less – Saddam Execution Announced

It looks like Saddam will be meeting his maker soon, very soon. This will be good news for the Iraqi people.

Iraq’s highest appeals court on Tuesday upheld the death sentence for Saddam Hussein in his first trial and said it must be carried out within 30 days. The sentence “must be implemented within 30 days,” chief judge Aref Shahin. “From tomorrow, any day could be the day of implementation.” AP

Update with more coverage: Washington Post , Reuters (defending Saddam again), Pajamas Media recognized the fact the quick appeal lets the execution take place as it will be before Saddam is 70 years old.

Don’t hold your breath…I don’t think it will happen, at
least not within 30 days. Saddam is like a cat, he has 9 lives.

The quicker this is done….the quicker the world can move on.

I believe much of the Sunni misconduct has been over this guys fate. Get rid of him and maybe Iraq will finally move forward.

FWIW, I heard that the amount of people volunteering to hang Saddam, is monumental, the families of his victims want to be a part of the process to execute him.

MD I agree with you, things are really heating up over there and I bet this has alot to do with it.

Does anyone know an address where we can forward Saddam a big, Costco-sized, bag of Doritos (his favorite) as a “bon voyage” present?

Hopefully, his body can be examined afterwards and tested to assure all the people that he is truly dead. No one
trusts this snake or his government.

#4, hopefully he won’t have time to eat them all.

His guilt & penalty upheld on appeal with 30 days till *checkout* time? Wow they arn’t letting any grass grow under his feet are they! That is the kind of speedy justice the US should administer but heck i’m willing to wait a couple of years of apeeals process. Dragging it out 20 or 25 years is rediculous. Especially clear cases like the pedaphile monster who killed Jessica Lunsford by burying the little girl alive. No doubt of that SOB’s guilt & he should’ve been hung on the next sunrise.

Back to Saddam…..is he getting hung, firing squad or beheading?

He is suppose to have 11 Billion dollars in a bank someplace and they will not execute him until they get their hands on the money.

Im glad that bastards finally gonna get his day. its about time. the one i really worry about is the antichrist in north korea, we should have worried about him first, he’s more of a threat to us.

    10. JULIE on December 27th, 2006 8:55 am

about the comment that the people want to be there to make sure he really is dead. i heard yesterday that they are talking about televising it so everyone can see it for that reason.

#8m his daughters know where the money is and counry who
gave them asylum gets a good chunk of it also. Saddam killed
their husbands and the girls thought that was the thing to do. What a bunch of raghead scums. they should hang with him.

Jospeh Barbera, famed cartoonist-gone; James Brown Gone, famed singer – gone; Gerald Ford, appointed president – gone, on deck Saddam Hussein…..

Seriously, some are suggesting that he will NOT be hung. Rather one of the made for TV commando raids, where he is taken to some 3rd world dictorship country where he will live out his daya under house arrest. Doesn’t seem right, we will have to wait and see.

    14. MOLLY on December 27th, 2006 8:14 pm

#13 may have the answer to my original post that he has
9 lives. If he is hanged, I will be surprised.

    15. Juan on December 27th, 2006 9:05 pm

quite to the contrary….i’m saying he will be gone within 30 days, if not 1 week. do you think he’ll want a hood so no one laughs at his facial expression? POP GOES THE WEASLE. Case closed, cars are blown up, people will kill people, security screenerss at US airports will soon see naked people, rich oil people will open new car dealerships in bagdad, and the world will still be  {{edit}} in 2007….but it will be a little better perhaps.

    16. Ames Tiedeman on December 28th, 2006 9:12 am

I am looking for upwards of 1,000 violent deaths on the day of his hanging. The former Baathists are going to make a bloody mess of Baghdad.

So very sad for the innocent…

    17. JusticeforNatalee on December 28th, 2006 5:14 pm

Might happen within a few days, according to latest reports:
