Aruba Tourism Authority Wants to Restrict Individual’s Opinions in the Natalee Holloway Discussion

It really is all about the tourism. Tourism and a positive perception of Aruba at the cost of individual opinion is the order of the day. According to a Diario article in Saturday November 19, 2005; ARUBA TOURISM AUTHORITY TA PIDI PUEBLO PA NO PONE MENSAHENAN NEGATIVO RIBA WEBSITE, (Aruba Tourism Authority asks people to not post negative messages on website), The Aruba Tourism Authority asks the Aruban community not to post negative comments on their site and on others.

Aruba Tourism Authority wants to ask the community of Aruba to cooperate by not posting negative, vengeful, destructive and/or threatening messages on its ‘bulletin or message board’ of the official website of Aruba www.aruba.com or any other website.

This type of message creates a negative reflection of the community that could and is affecting Aruba’s image to potential tourists.

There you have it from the horse’s mouth, the Aruban Authority talking points. For all of you who post negative, hateful comments here and elsewhere, you must stop. You are fueling the boycott and a negative image of Aruba. You are being told to cease and desist. It would seem according to the Aruba Tourism Authority that these hateful comments are a deterrent to a prosperous Aruban tourism. Thus your personal feelings and opinions against the Holloway and Twitty family are in direct contrast with Aruba. The comments that American tourists are to stay away and good riddance are also being asked by the Aruban Tourism Authority to be stopped.

Aruba Tourism Authority has received notification that some travel agents who have said that they support and promote Aruba, but the fact that there are apparently people who are of who have said that they are from Aruba who are posting extremely negative messages. They have also expressed that they don’t want any American to come to Aruba anymore.

To avoid this, post positive messages that demonstrate that Aruba is a good and civilized country. Despite of everything, we cannot forget that more than 70% of our visitors come from America.

Diario Editorial; Natalee and the bla bla bla professors

Diario, November 21, 2005; Editorial NATALEE Y E PROFESORNAN DI BLA BLA BLA!

Editorial: Natalee and the bla bla bla professors
by Jossy Mansur

I didn’t know that in Aruba there were so many professionals who are specialized in bla bla bla, that is to say, those who express their baseless opinions, but what is revealed is their ignorance. There are some media in Aruba who are somewhat politically inclined which have lost notion of reality and which hide the word ‘truth’ behind their forgetfulness.

They can very well continue to wait for a reply from me that will never come, because I am not going to waste time tending to some fanatic blindingly tied to their negative habits of twisting everything and interpreting in their own way what they can’t express or write.

Their sick focus on the case of Natalee has become a pathetic aspect, not because it is difficult to solve, but because of the errors committed and the sentences dictated are obvious to everyone around the world who is aware of them.

It has nothing to do with whether Natalee is alive or not, but with the judge who came from Curaà §ao who preferred to ignore all the good work that the Aruban police did and the solid presentation of the prosecutor. Are the three suspects guilty or innocent? This will come out because you cannot hide this truth for very long, but sooner or later, it will come to light. On my part, they are innocent if Natalee turns out to be alive!

Diario Asks the Simple Question … Mammana … Posner, What’s the Difference?

We were wondering when Jossy Mansur and Diario was going to do this story and pose the controversial yet obvious question. With the many critical news articles that Diario has been lately on the Natalee Holloway story, it was only a matter of time before this obvious question would be asked. There has been much publicity made by many on Aruba, including from the Aruban Strategic Task Force, regarding Joe Mammana’s criminal past. Diario asks the following question which will most likely be asked by many American media types as well in the coming days.

Now that the government refuses an American ex-criminal entry to Aruba, the government has to justify the reason why until today they continue to permit a person with such a police record such as Mike Posner, can come to set up a business in Aruba, continue to operate his business in Aruba and come and go whenever he wants.

What sort of handling of Justice is there in Aruba and what impact will this case have in the US when the American media start to question the government of Aruba about this matter?

Jossy Mansur and Diario pulling the hat trick going out on the journalistic limb stating the following in this article against the Aruban government, Posner and a rival news paper. We are wondering how that “freedom of the press” principle works in Aruba on this one?

What is strange is that the government refuses to let this ex-criminal enter Aruba, but on the other hand, permits another ex-criminal, Mike Posner who is going soon to the U.S. for cases of law violations, to be able to have a business in Aruba, and enter and leave Aruba whenever he wants.

It would appear that Diaro has some questions in todays newspaper. From Diario, November 21, 2005; Doà ±o di casino na Aruba cu pasado criminal pisa na Merca JOE MAMANA NO TA WORDE PERMITI PA DRENTA ARUBA PA SU PASADO CRIMINAL PERO CON A PARA CU MIKE POSNER?

Aruban casino owner with criminal past goes to America
Joe Mammana is not permitted to enter Aruba due to his past but how did we end up with Mike Posner?
