From The Files of … Shut Up and Quit Your Whining
I am a free speech person like the next guy; however, there comes a point when one must just say … SHUT UP! Its bad enough that for the most part Jacques Chirac should usually remain silent but this takes the cake. Chirac actually does the right thing and orders the lowering of the French Flags in respect to the passing of Pope John Paul II.
There are actually people who would call this an abuse of power?
The Unsa union said the government was guilty of double standards having ordered schools to take part in the tribute to a religious leader while having banned Muslim head scarves in state schools in a drive to keep schools firmly secular.
It couldn’t possibly be that this was done out of respect for the historical contribution that Pope John Paul II made in the ending of communism and not entirely for religious reasons could it?
Oh wait, these are communists complaining. I second then my previous thought, SHUT UP.

Notice how Bush hasn’t ordered out flags to fly at half mast? Strange, isn’t it? Perhaps it’s because Bush had something to do with the Pope’s sudden and mysterious death. I have it on good authority that Bush actually travelled to the Vatican last June under a shroud of secrecy. Was he there to warn the Pope against endorsing same-sex marriage? Or was it the Pope’s stance against Bush’s illegal and immoral War on Terror that awakened the sleeping chimp?
The circumstances surrounding the Pope’s death are as cloudy as Tom Sizemore’s urine. I hope the 9/11 widows call for an investigation before any more innocent pontiffs succomb to the machinations of the Bush junta.
Nice blog. I like the Bush Family portrait in the upper right hand corner.
