ATF Tries to Block Whistleblowing Book on Fast and Furious by Special Agent John Dodson Citing It Would Hurt Morale

Obviously the ATF has never heard of the First Amendment to the US Constitution …

The Washington Times is reporting that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is blocking”whistleblower” special agent John Dodson from publishing a book on the ‘Fast & Furious’ government gun walking scandal. The ATF is claiming that the book would hurt moral in the agency. Really, that’s your reason? The First Amendment is being shredded because the ATF is worried about morale? It is more likely that Attorney General Eric Holder and President Barack Obama are more worried about the information that will come out that will be embarrassing to them. With all the scandals plaguing the Obama White House, Obama does not want to have to revisit this not-so “phony” scandal.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is blocking the main whistleblower in the Fast and Furious case from publishing a book, claiming his retelling of the Mexico “gun-walking” scandal will hurt morale inside the embattled law enforcement agency, according to documents obtained by The Washington Times.

ATF’s dispute with Special Agent John Dodson is setting up a First Amendment showdown that is poised to bring together liberal groups like the American Civil Liberties Union and conservatives in Congress who have championed Mr. Dodson’s protection as a whistleblower.

The ACLU is slated to become involved in the case Monday, informing ATF it is representing Mr. Dodson and filing a formal protest to the decision to reject his request to publish the already written book, sources told The Times, speaking only on the condition of anonymity.

The Fast & Furious gun walking program during the Obama presidency has lead to the death of border agent Brian Terry and allowed the guns into Mexico where they were responsible for countless number of murders.

UPDATE I: ACLU says ATF blocks whistleblower book on scandal.

The ACLU charged that the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is worried that the book proposed by an ATF agent would hurt relationships with other U.S. law enforcement agencies.

In a six-page letter to ATF Deputy Director Thomas Brandon, the ACLU said the bureau’s decision to block the book proposed by Special Agent John Dodson was a violation of his First Amendment rights. The ACLU described Dodson as a whistle-blower.

According to the letter, the ATF denied Dodson’s request to try to publish a book about his version of the Fast and Furious scandal because the bureau predicted it would have “a negative impact on morale in the Phoenix (Field Division) and would have a detrimental” impact on ATF relationships with the FBI and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Government Shutdown? 83% of the Government is Still Operating

Only in Washington, DC and with politicians does a government shutdown mean that 83% of the government is still operating. As stated ta the Independent Review journal, despite the off-the-wall rhetoric about “blowing up the economy,” taking “hostages,” and politicians with bombs strapped to their chests, 83% of the government is still operational. That is hardly what I refer to as a shutdown.

Everyone knows the phrase “government shutdown” doesn’t mean the entire U.S. government is shut down. So in a partial government shutdown, like the one underway at the moment, how much of the government is actually shut down, and how much is not?

One way to measure that is in how much money the government spends. In a conversation Thursday, a Republican member of Congress mentioned that the military pay act, passed by Congress and signed by President Obama at the beginning of the shutdown, is actually a huge percentage of the government’s discretionary spending in any given year. And that is still flowing. So if you took that money, and added it to all the entitlement spending that is unaffected by a shutdown, plus all the areas of spending that are exempted from a shutdown, and added it all together, how much of the federal government’s total spending is still underway even though the government is technically shut down?

I asked a Republican source on the Senate Budget Committee for an estimate. This was the answer: “Based on estimates drawn from CBO and OMB data, 83 percent of government operations will continue.

Cartoon of the Day …Obamaha Beach from Chris Muir of ‘Day by Day’

From one of my favorite cartoon artists who I met at BlogNashville many, many moons ago … Chris Muir of Day By Day depicts Obamaha Beach. Unbelievably, Barack Obama shut down the D-Day beaches cemetery in Normandy, France and the WWII Memorial in DC. What a viscous, mean spirited, little man.

Ohio Daycare Employee Heather Koon Arrested After Police Discovered Sex Tape of Suspect Raping an Infant

UNSPEAKABLE CRIME AT DAYCARE CENTER …

25 year old daycare worker Heather Koon has been arrested for raping a baby. The video of the sex crime was found on Koon’s laptop. The video was reportedly found on Koon’s laptop, after police checked up on her fiancé James Osborne, who is listed on Lorain County’s sex offender website at an incorrect address. The police arrested him as well.  The horrific crime took place at the ABC KIDZ daycare in Elyria, Ohio. Sorry, but they should just these two dirt-bags in a room with the parents who had their children at this daycare and let them take justice into their own hands.

I still haven’t wrapped my mind around it. It’s every parent’s worst nightmare,” said the baby’s father, who wants to remain anonymous.

The father is speaking out about the incident so other parents can figure out if their child was also victimized.  He says ABC KIDZ daycare in Elyria asked him not to talk about the incident.

“They tried to act like it was a simple assault.  A few hours later they called us back again and asked us to keep it discrete,” said the dad.

The shocked father’s advice; “Any child that’s old enough to talk, they should talk to.  Any child that’s not old enough to talk should be taken to a physician.”

Police arrested Koon after checking up on her boyfriend, James Osborne.  Osborne is listed on Lorain County’s sex offender website as living at another address.  Police arrested him and confiscated a laptop found in the apartment.  A police report shows it belonged to Koon and contained a video file of her “engaging in sexual conduct with an unknown infant”.
