So Michael R. Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York City, is eyeing a potential run for president as an independent in 2016 because he is galled by billionaire Donald Trump’s dominance in GOP polls, Hillary Clinton’s ethics issues and the rise of socialist Bernie Sanders for the Democrats. Hmm, I am galled he is actually considering a presidential run. Who knew that running for president required that you be a billionaire?

Michael R. Bloomberg has instructed advisers to draw up plans for a potential independent campaign in this year’s presidential race. His advisers and associates said he was galled by Donald J. Trump’s dominance of the Republican field, and troubled by Hillary Clinton’s stumbles and the rise of Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont on the Democratic side.

Mr. Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York City, has in the past contemplated running for the White House on a third-party ticket, but always concluded he could not win. A confluence of unlikely events in the 2016 election, however, has given new impetus to his presidential aspirations.

Mr. Bloomberg, 73, has already taken concrete steps toward a possible campaign, and has indicated to friends and allies that he would be willing to spend at least $1 billion of his fortune on it, according to people briefed on his deliberations who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss his plans. He has set a deadline for making a final decision in early March, the latest point at which advisers believe Mr. Bloomberg could enter the race and still qualify to appear as an independent candidate on the ballot in all 50 states.

Taya Kyle, the widow of “American Sniper” Chris Kyle, who was shot and killed while helping fellow soldiers readjust to life back home, was the first audience member to be given the microphone, and her question really got to the heart of gun-rights advocates’ objections to Obama’s efforts.

“We’re at an all-time low for murder rate, but I think most of us in this country feel like it could happen at any moment,” she said. “It’s not necessarily that I think someone’s going to come take my gun from me, but I want the hope, the hope that I have the right to protect myself.”

Kyle cited declining national murder statistics and asked the president: “Why not celebrate where we are … celebrate that we’re good people, and 99.9 percent of us are never going to kill anyone?”

It wasn’t just the question – as composed and informed as it was – it was the person asking it. Kyle is the wife of a former U.S. Navy SEAL who is perhaps the most famous American military sharpshooter in history– not to mention a victim of gun violence himself.

HMM, WAS THERE AN ONION ON THE STAGE OR WAS IT JUST TEARS OF A CLOWN …

FOX News Host Andrea Tantaros responded to Barack Obama’s tears on gun control by saying,  I would check that podium for a raw onion or some “No More Tears.” It’s not really believable. On Outnumbered, watch the VIDEO where all of the cast respond to Obama’s comments and his continued divisive nature. But once again in a time when Americans are fearful terrorism, want to defend themselves and respect the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution while Obama mocks all who do not agree with his liberal agenda.

Really, after all this time, this lame duck president is making this an issue as if he cares?

SO SORRY IF I DON’T TRUST THIS PRESIDENT WHO RAN ON “THEY CLING TO BIBLES AND GUNS” …

The liberal MSM is a flutter that Barack Obama teared up as he gave his speech on gun control in America and assaulted the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. Is it possible that these are not crocodile tears from Obama, sure it is. However, none of his power grab ideas would have prevented any of the mass murders that he is referencing. Also, so sorry if I don’t believe the actions of a man who’s sole purpose is to take guns away from law-abiding citizens. But just curious, why didn’t Obama cry or shed a tear on so many other occasions where people died at the hands of his policies, like Fast & Furious where he armed the bad guys, or in San Bernadino, CA where his lax visa checks allowed a terrorist in the country or the continues release of criminals from prison who used guns in the commission of their crimes?

I think I like the comment at Michelle Malkin.com the best when it comes to Obama pretending to care and trying to be truthful with the American people when it comes to guns,  “If you like your 2nd Amendment, you can keep it.”

Mr. Obama will clarify that existing laws require anyone making a living by selling guns to register as a licensed gun dealer and conduct background checks. White House officials said the president would note that criminal penalties already exist for violating those laws.

“We have to be very clear that this is not going to solve every violent crime in this country,” Mr. Obama said on Monday, ahead of a formal announcement on Tuesday. “It’s not going to prevent every mass shooting; it’s not going to keep every gun out of the hands of a criminal.”

Mr. Obama will hire more personnel to process background checks in a timely manner, direct officials to conduct more gun research, improve the information in the background check system, encourage more domestic violence prosecutions and order better tracking of lost guns. He will also make it easier for states to provide mental health information to the background check system, which could bar a gun sale.

But officials said it was impossible to predict whether the new directives would have made any difference in recent shootings, such as the one in San Bernardino, Calif.
