USA TODAY/Pew Poll: Americans Still Do Not Like, Nor Understand Obamacare

Remember when then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) made the ridiculous comment, that we have to pass the bill (Obamacare) in order to find out what is in it? Well, all these years later and the American people still do not like it, nor do they understand it. Which begs the question, how in the HELL was Obama reelected? And why isn’t the GOP doing every meaningful thing to prevent this nightmare from being inflicted on the American people? With something so unpopular, why do Republican think they will be punished by the voters for doing so?

A recent USA TODAY/Pew poll shows that as much as ever “We the People” do not like Obamacare and also do not like how it is being implemented by Barack Obama and his minions. When Obama signed the law more than three years ago, supporters predicted Americans would embrace it. FAT CHANCE. The law is as unpopular as ever and the more Americans find out of the debacle, the worse support gets.

Opposition hits new highs: 53% disapprove of the health care law, the highest level since it was signed; 42% approve. By an even wider margin, intensity favors the opposition; 41% of those surveyed strongly disapprove while just 26% strongly approve. Fifty-three percent disapprove of Obama’s handling of health care policy, an historic high. And Democrats have lost their traditional advantage on the issue. For the first time in polling that stretches back more than two decades, Americans narrowly prefer Republicans in dealing with health care policy, 40%-39%.

A boost in approval for the law that followed the Supreme Court decision in July 2012 upholding most of its provisions, to 47% approve-43% disapprove, has disappeared.

Confusion continues: Only one in four say they understand the law’s impact on them and their families well while one-third say they have little or no understanding about how the law will work. Despite increasing education efforts by the administration, advocacy groups and some states, the percentage of Americans who don’t understand the law has declined only modestly, to 34% from 44%, since it was passed.

Hot Air presents other polls that have the same outcome … Americans dislike Obamacare.

Even among those in the know — or perhaps especially among the informed — the Affordable Care Act remains unpopular, and opposition is deepening in two new polls released today.  The NBC/WSJ poll puts opposition in the plurality, but the trend lines are not improving for the White House.

40,000 Members of the International Longshore & Warehouse Union (ILWU) Quit the AFL-CIO Citing Obamacare … Growing Frustration With Obamacare

The 40,000 members of the ILWU, International Longshore & Warehouse Union, have quit the AFL-CIO citing Obamacare and immigration reform. The ILWU sent a letter to AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka providing grievances, namely the AFL-CIO’s support of Obamacare. The letter stated that,  ”We feel the Federation has done a great disservice to the labor movement and all working people by going along to get along.” Gee, ya think? The ILWU is also upset with the AFL-CIO fot their going along with Obama’s confiscatory tax on their “Cadillac” health care plans after Obama ran on a platform in 2009 saying that he would not do so. Even unions are now upset with Obama’s misrepresentations with Obamacare. What Obama lie, say it isn’t so.

In what is being reported as a surprise move, the 40,000 members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) announced that they have formally ended their association with the AFL-CIO, one of the nation’s largest private sector unions. The Longshoremen citied Obamacare and immigration reform as two important causes of their disaffiliation.

In an August 29 letter to AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, ILWU President Robert McEllrath cited quite a list of grievances as reasons for the disillusion of their affiliation, but prominent among them was the AFL-CIO’s support of Obamare.

“We feel the Federation has done a great disservice to the labor movement and all working people by going along to get along,” McEllrath wrote in the letter to Trumka.

The ILWU President made it clear they are for a single-payer, nationalized healthcare policy and are upset with the AFL-CIO for going along with Obama on the confiscatory tax on their “Cadillac” healthcare plan.

Labor has watched with growing annoyance as the White House has backed ObamaCare changes in response to concerns from business groups, religious organizations and even lawmakers and their staffs.

They say they don’t understand why their concerns so far have fallen of deaf ears.

We are disappointed that the non-profit health plans offered by unions have not been given the same consideration as the Catholic Church, big business and Capitol Hill staffers,” Unite Here President D. Taylor told The Hill.

It’s an issue that Obama may have to face when he speaks to the AFL-CIO convention a week after Labor Day.

MISLEADER IN CHIEF: THANKS TO OBAMACARE, UPS AND UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA ENDING SPOUSAL INSURANCE COVERAGE …

Remember when President Barack Obama promised Americans that under Obamacare, you can keep your insurance coverage if you like it? Well guess what, HE LIED! As reported at the NY Times, United Parcel Service has told its employees that it will stop providing health care coverage to their spouses who can obtain coverage through their own employer. Thus, spouses who have a lesser coverage in their employment, but are provided heath care will no longer be able to be covered under the better UPS health care insurance plan. This is happening in many other companies and as it turns out Universities as well. UPS and UVA are dropping spousal coverage and citing increased health care costs. Wait, wasn’t Obamacare supposed to cut health care costs as well? I guess it all depends on what “nobody” is?

THE OBAMA LIES: “If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan, PERIOD! No one will take it away, no matter what.”

United Parcel Service has told its white-collar employees that it will stop providing health care coverage to their spouses who can obtain coverage through their own employers, joining an increasing number of companies that are restricting or eliminating spousal health benefits.

U.P.S., the world’s largest package delivery company, said its decision was prompted in part by “costs associated with” the federal health care law that is commonly called Obamacare. Several health care experts, however, said they believed the company was motivated by a desire to hold down health care costs, rather than because of cost increases under the law.

In a memo addressed to employees, U.P.S. said, “Limiting plan eligibility is one way to manage ongoing health care costs, now and into the future, so that we can continue to provide affordable coverage for our employees.”

The memo also estimated that about 33,000 spouses were covered under its insurance plan for white-collar employees and that “about 15,000 of these would have health care coverage available through their own employers.”

The University of Virginia is going the same.

The University of Virginia will no longer provide insurance coverage to the working spouses of its employees, a move university officials hope will save “millions of dollars.”

Starting Jan. 1, employee spouses who have health insurance coverage under their employers cannot get coverage under UVa’s plan. If the spouse is covered under a plan defined by the Affordable Care Act as “minimum value” and “affordable,” he or she will no longer be eligible.

Cutting off working spouses with access to health insurance is part of the university’s plan to save money in the long-term, said UVa spokesman McGregor McCance.

Barack Obama Creates More PT Jobs for Americans … Illinois Pays Workers $9 An Hour To Sign People Up For Obamacare

Illinois pays workers $9/hr. for part time job to enroll people in Obamacare and plan on giving them three days training …

President Barack Obama creates jobs for Americans, however, they they are once again part time ones. Illinois workers are paid $9 an hour to sign people up for Obamacare. That’s correct, more part time jobs as a result of Obamacare. This must be more of those great jobs that Obama promised Americans. Weasel Zippers reminds us that the payment for these temp jobs is just $0.75 above minimum wage. Two things that I find rather comical about this call for job applicants. The story states that those hired will get 3 days if training on health insurance, enrollment and other “complicated aspects” of Obamacare. THREE DAYS!!! Wow, how about three months? To this day nobody has a clue as to what this ridiculous, train-wreck” law is about and the people who are to sign you up and enroll you get a whopping three days of training. What a joke. Better yet, take a look at the position of project coordinator, of which it appears there is only one of those positions. It requires some one  with experience in community organizing and public speaking. In other words, it is what Barack Obama is qualified to do as a job, not President of the United States.

Talk about your double Obama whammie … Obamacare and jobs, two Obama failures

Working on a tight timeframe, Illinois is building an 800-person army of temporary workers to help people sign up for health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

The “in-person counselor” jobs, located in every corner of the state, range from a $9-an-hour part-time evening job in Clinton County to a $45,000-a-year project coordinator position in Chicago for someone with experience in community organizing and public speaking.

The workers will help consumers apply for coverage, and will answer questions and explain differences between the insurance policies offered on the new online marketplace. They will help consumers figure out if they’re eligible for Medicaid or for new tax credits that will help many people pay for coverage.

Job applications are being collected online and anyone hired will get three days of training about health insurance, enrollment rules and other complicated aspects of the health law. Illinois must act quickly to be ready for Oct. 1, the first day of enrollment for the law’s new insurance opportunities.

Honestly, how well versed and knowledgeable could anyone be getting paid $9 an hour and only receiving 3 days of training for a law to help others and answer questions when politicians have been dealing with this for years and still could not tell you whats in Obamacare?

Sean Hannity Says … “I’m Done with Republicans If They Don’t Fight” Obamacare … I will Not Vote, I Will Not Support Anybody Who Does not Have the Courage to Stand Up on this Issue

Last night Sean Hannity drew the line in the sand with the present establishment Republican Party during an interview with Conservative radio talk host Mark Levin. Hannity stated that he would not further support the Republican party if they did not fight Obamacare. Hannity stated that he would no longer support or vote for Republicans who would not stand up to such an important and dangerous issue as Obamacare. Hannity called the actions of the Republicans cowardly. I would have to agree. Obamacare is hated more and more by Americans as they learn more about it. Do you think that the GOP could figure out that even Obama knows Obamacare is a loser as he delayes the implementation of parts of it until after the 2014 midterms, so not to adversely affect the election for Democrats.

“Now if this is not the issue to revitalize the Republican Party then they’re letting this opportunity go and I would argue that conservatives like myself and yourself – I’m done with the Republicans if they don’t fight here. I will not vote, I will not support, I will not endorse anybody that doesn’t have the courage to stand up on this issue.

Obamacare is an epic failure and the GOP does not have the guts to do the right thing for America. They pass their votes in the House that mean nothing, but when it comes time to defund it, they cower in the corner.  Tehey are afraid they will get blamed. Blames for what, ridding us of this train-wreck called Obamacare? Have you seen the polls lately GOP? Wake up Republicans,  even the labor unions want no part of it!
