Thanks Obamacare … UPS and UVA Ending Spousal Insurance Coverage … What Happened to Obama’s Promise that You Can Keep Your Insurance If You Want To

Remember when President Barack Obama promised Americans that under Obamacare, you can keep your insurance coverage if you like it? Well guess what, HE LIED! As reported at the NY Times, United Parcel Service has told its employees that it will stop providing health care coverage to their spouses who can obtain coverage through their own employer. Thus, spouses who have a lesser coverage in their employment, but are provided heath care will no longer be able to be covered under the better UPS health care insurance plan. This is happening in many other companies and as it turns out Universities as well. UPS and UVA are dropping spousal coverage and citing increased health care costs. Wait, wasn’t Obamacare supposed to cut health care costs as well? I guess it all depends on what “nobody” is?

THE OBAMA LIES: “If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan, PERIOD! No one will take it away, no matter what.”

United Parcel Service has told its white-collar employees that it will stop providing health care coverage to their spouses who can obtain coverage through their own employers, joining an increasing number of companies that are restricting or eliminating spousal health benefits.

U.P.S., the world’s largest package delivery company, said its decision was prompted in part by “costs associated with” the federal health care law that is commonly called Obamacare. Several health care experts, however, said they believed the company was motivated by a desire to hold down health care costs, rather than because of cost increases under the law.

In a memo addressed to employees, U.P.S. said, “Limiting plan eligibility is one way to manage ongoing health care costs, now and into the future, so that we can continue to provide affordable coverage for our employees.”

The memo also estimated that about 33,000 spouses were covered under its insurance plan for white-collar employees and that “about 15,000 of these would have health care coverage available through their own employers.”

The University of Virginia is going the same.

The University of Virginia will no longer provide insurance coverage to the working spouses of its employees, a move university officials hope will save “millions of dollars.”

Starting Jan. 1, employee spouses who have health insurance coverage under their employers cannot get coverage under UVa’s plan. If the spouse is covered under a plan defined by the Affordable Care Act as “minimum value” and “affordable,” he or she will no longer be eligible.

Cutting off working spouses with access to health insurance is part of the university’s plan to save money in the long-term, said UVa spokesman McGregor McCance.

Not one more minute of him, he is so dangerous and makes us so fearful, yet he still manages to control us and not listen to what we have to say. I doubt if his numbers are even close to being correct on how many Americans want obamacare. It sucks and enters into our personal health information, which is none of his business and the program is full of lies. He is a communist and wants controlling power. We employ him to do a job for us and he has failed miserably. We need a President that cares about our country and the American people who live here. Which is nothing close to what we get from him!!!!

He needs to be held ACCOUNTABLE for all of his actions and lies….today!!!!

My company did this at least 18 years ago. They did not have Obamacare to blame it on though.

Repeal? It is not going to happen unless the RINOS at all levels of government … RINOS who side with the Democrats and further the agenda of the Islamic appeaser/Marxist in the White House are recalled and replaced. Maybe if a Conservative party with vetted candidates emerges as the opposition … the Republic stands a chance. Conservatives do something!!!

Supreme Court upholds individual mandate, ObamaCare survives
      Published June 28, 2012

The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld nearly all of President Obama’s health care overhaul, in a landmark ruling that will have sweeping consequences for the economy, the election and America’s health care system.

In a 5-4 decision, the court ruled as constitutional the so-called individual mandate requiring most Americans to obtain health insurance starting in 2014. ….

Chief Justice John Roberts, who was appointed during a Republican administration, joined the four left-leaning justices on the bench in crafting the majority decision.

Impeachment? It is not going to happen. RINOS in the Senate, the House and the Supreme Court provide the votes that Democrats require on all bills. However … I wish Conservatives like Cruz and Lee would draft impeachment legislation nevertheless. The Roll Call on Republicans who vote against it will be exposed for who they are … RINOS!!!
Cruz Calls ‘Why Don’t We Impeach’ Obama ‘Good Question’
      August 20, 2013

In a question and answer session following a speech he gave at a Montgomery County GOP dinner last night, an audience member asked Cruz, “Why don’t we impeach him [Obama]?”

“It’s a good question,” Cruz responded, “and I’ll tell you the simplest answer: To successfully impeach a president you need the votes in the U.S. senate.”

MARK LEVIN: It’s time to call it BoehnerCare because he wont support vote to defund ObamaCare
      August 22nd, 2013

Boehner told the House Republican membership in a telephone meeting a short while ago that the Republican leadership will NOT pursue defunding Obamacare, that they will only pursue saving from the sequestration. Levin responded to this news by saying we need to change the name of Obamacare to Beohner care and start repeating it over and over.

My 80+ year old friend who suffers from macular degeneration requires an eye treatment, which stops eye bleeding, thereby preserving her sight. The only viable treatment available

A $1,200 shot, the treatment, is covered by her AARP supplemental insurance. This week her doctor told her he would no longer accept that insurance.

Coincidnetially, several days ago I happened upon this opthamologist decrying Obamacare for shifting medicare care funds to the ACA programs. Macular dengenration is mentioned

My daughter has to take birth control pills to help her migraine headaches so her generic birth control pills cost me nothing through my insurance. I am 65 and have urinary issues that require me to take generic Flomax but my generic medication cost me $10 under Obummer Care. Its only FAIR friends and fellow citizens. Impeach this AH before it is too late. Oh FYI my insurance premiums have also gone up under OBUMMER CARE. How is that for FAIR. There is no war on women only a war on the unborn.

5 GOP U.S. reps from Michigan sign letter to defund Affordable Care Act
      August 22, 2013

Five Republican members of Michigan’s congressional delegation have signed a letter to U.S. House leaders calling on them to support legislation defunding health care reform legislation passed three years ago.

In all, 79 congressional Republicans signed the letter to House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., saying the Affordable Care Act, or what they referred to as Obamacare, leads to job losses, coverage changes and other negative effects.

“(Since) most of the citizens we represent believe that Obamacare should never go into effect, we urge you to affirmatively defund the implementation and enforcement” of the law in any spending bill that comes to the House floor, the letter read.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Washington called it “a petition to shut down the government.”
