Zakieya Latrice Avery & Monifa Sanford Charged with Murder in Deaths of Two Toddler, Norell Harris & Zyana Harris … Claims She was Performing Exorcism

28 year old Zakieya Latrice Avery and 21 year old Monifa Sanford have been charged with two counts of first degree murder in the death of two toddlers, Norell Harris and Zyana Harris. According to police, a mother killed two of her own children, while performing an exorcism in Germantown, Maryland. The two children, one year old Norell Harris and two year old Zyana Harris  were stabbed to death.

A Germantown mother and another woman accused of killing two toddlers and trying to kill two other children believed that they were releasing demonic spirits that had possessed the siblings, Montgomery County police said Saturday.

The two dead children — a boy, Norell Harris, 1, and a girl, Zyana Harris, 2 — were found Friday morning on their mother’s bed in a Germantown townhouse. Both had been stabbed repeatedly, police said. A sister, Taniya Harris, 5, and a brother, Martello Harris, 8, were seriously injured but are expected to survive.

Police said the women thought that they were performing an exorcism, although it did not appear they had followed any ritual.

“This was all about what was in their minds,” said Capt. Marcus Jones, commander of the county’s major crimes unit. “They felt like there was something bad going on with the children, and they were trying to release it.”

Police identified the women as Zakieya L. Avery, 28, the mother, and Monifa Sanford, 21, who lived with the family. Each has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Sorry, if I do not shed a tear or lose any sleep over the fact that it took 15 minutes for convicted rapist and murderer Dennis Mc Guire during his execution in Lucasville, Ohio. The family of Dennis McGuire is claiming that his civil rights were violated because of the cruel and unusual punishment he experienced during his execution. REALLY? The killers daughter, Amber McGuire, is reported to have said, “Oh my God,” as she observed her father’s final moments. Did we mention that Dennis McGuire was charged and convicted of the 1989 rape and murder of 22 year old Joy Stewart. Did we also mention that she was seven months pregnant? I wounder if  Amber and the family of this killer ever thought about what Joy’s last words were when her life was savagely taken as she was stabbed to death and throat cut?

Bleeding heart libs on CNN discuss the notion that this two drug cocktail execution was cruel and unusual punishment. However, a note to Dennis McGuire’s family and the future Dennis McGuire’s, this does not mean that an execution has to be painless. I am certain it was not painless or cruel for the victims.

The execution generated controversy because, like many states, Ohio has been forced to find new drug protocols after European-based manufacturers banned U.S. prisons from using their drugs in executions — among them, Danish-based Lundbeck, which manufactures pentobarbital.

According to Ohio’s corrections department, the state used a combination of the drugs midazolam, a sedative; and the painkiller hydromorphone.

A condemned Ohio inmate appeared to gasp several times and took more than 15 minutes to die Thursday as he was executed with a combination of drugs never before tried in the U.S.

Death row inmate Dennis McGuire made several loud snorting or snoring sounds during one of the longest executions since Ohio resumed capital punishment in 1999.

Ohio officials used intravenous doses of two drugs, the sedative midazolam and the painkiller hydromorphone, to put McGuire to death for the 1989 rape and fatal stabbing of a pregnant woman, Joy Stewart.

This might be a first, I agree with Anderson Cooper when he asks, why not use a firing squad or a guillotine? If you are going to kill some one and you want to make it swift and effective, a firing squad or lopping off someones head might be the way to go.

I once sense I will agree that the execution of Dennis McGuire did take too long. I could care less about the 15 minutes. McGuire raped and killed Joy Stewart in 1989. He was tried and found guilty in 1994. It took nearly another 20 years to execute him? The 15 minutes is not the issue … the nearly 20 years to put him down is.

Hmm, I guess I am the only one who does not have an issue if the following happened during an execution for a convicted killer who would have murdered my wife an child. Sorry, maybe if they realized their demise would be a painful and miserable one, they might just think twice. Cruel and unusual punishment is having to tolerate these rapists and murderers walking among us.

What has this country come to when texting in a movie theater results in a murder? This was not a result of gang violence or some teenage fight over a girl. The suspect was a retired cop and the victim a dad. UNREAL. Trust me, I think that individuals on cell phones in movie theaters are annoying, but it is hardly worth shooting some one over, but such was the sad case that occurred in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

On Monday during a 1:20 p.m. showing of “Lone Survivor” at a Wesley Chapel, Florida, it started with a father, 43 year old Chad Oulson, texting his 3 year old daughter and ended with 71 year old retired police officer Curtis Reeves firing his .380 caliber, killing Chad Oulson and wounding his wife.

Investigators say two couples had gotten into an argument over noise.

“The victim was on his cell phone; he was texting. We believe he was making some kind of noise. This noise led to an altercation between the suspect and the victim,” Sheriff Chris Nocco explained.

A witness recalled seeing the agitated man — later identified by deputies as Curtis Reeves — get up and leave in an apparent attempt to find a manager. When he came back alone, the argument escalated.

It started with a father sending text messages to his daughter during the previews of a movie.

It ended with the 43-year-old man shot dead amid the theater seats, and a 71-year-old retired police officer in custody.

The shooting Monday during a 1:20 p.m. showing of “Lone Survivor” at a Wesley Chapel, Florida, movie theater escalated from an objection to cell phone use, to a series of arguments, to the sudden and deadly shooting, according to police and witnesses.

As a male moviegoer texted, the man seated behind him objected, and asked the texter to put his phone away.

The man who had been texting, Chad Oulson, got up and turned to Reeves to ask him if he had gone to tell on him for his texting. Oulson reportedly said, in effect: I was just sending a message to my young daughter.

Voices were raised. Popcorn was thrown. And then came something unimaginable — except maybe in a movie. A gun shot.

Oulson was fatally wounded. His wife was hit, too, through the hand as she raised her hand in front of her husband as the shooter drew a handgun.

A retired Tampa police captain was charged  with second-degree murder on Monday for shooting two people in a movie theater after an altercation over texting, the Associated Press reports.

Curtis Reeves is being held at the Pasco County Central Detention Center in Land O’ Lakes jail on a second-degree murder charge. He is set to appear in court this afternoon and could have bond set.
