CNN’s “State of the Union: John McCain calls Obama, “Inept” and “Ignorant” in Reaction & Response to Libya Attack & Murders
Well, if the ineptness and ignorance fits, where it …
This morning on CNN’s ‘State of the Union” Senator John McCain (AZ-R) called President Barack Obama “inept” and “ignorant” in his handling of the response in handling the recent attacks and murders in Libya. As reported at The Hill, McCain called the Obama Administrations response after attack on the Benghazi Consulate and the death of four Americans political spin and it did not pass the smell test. However, isn’t this par for the course for Obama? The Obama administration found it so hard to call the underwear bomber or the Time Square bomber, instead it was a one off. They found it difficult to call the Ft. Hood shooting terrorism, instead that was work place violence.
The Arizona Republican said the administration’s initial claim that an anti-Muslim video incited the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was political spin that “doesn’t pass the smell test.”
“It was either willful ignorance or dismal intelligence to think that people come to spontaneous demonstrations with heavy weapons, mortars, and the attack goes on for hours,” McCain said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” program.
“To blame it on the video … shows the absolute ineptitude and ignorance of the realities,” McCain added. “It’s not the videos, it’s the radical Islamists [who] are pushing the videos.”
McCain said the White House was initially reluctant to label the attack a planned act of terrorism for fear of exposing the level of turmoil in the Middle East, a region he characterized as “unraveling” under Obama’s watch.
Rep. Peter King Calls for Ambassador Susan Rice to Resign … Sen. Kerry (MA-D) Defends Her
Who will take the Fall for Watergate Benghazigate?
Who will get thrown under the bus, but make no mistake, it is impossible to believe that the White House did not know what was going on no matter what anyone says. Because if they did not know, they should have known. Benghazigate is a scandal on a multitude of levels. How were US Embassies so ill-prepared and such a lack of security on the anniversary of 9-11, especially when there were warnings ahead of time? How was an Ambassador allowed to go to the US Consulate in Benghaazi, especially when he had wrote in his private journals that he feared for his life? Are we supposed to believe those fears were never made aware to his superiors? Who decided in the Administration to misrepresent the facts on the ground that the attacks and murders were a result of terrorism and they state to “We the People” a message quite to the contrary.
US Rep. Peter King (NY-R) and House Homeland Security Committee chairman Pete King has called for Ambassador Susan Rice to resign. King stated,“I believe that this was such a failure of foreign policy messaging and leadership, such a misstatement of facts as was known at the time … for her to go on all of those shows and in effect be our spokesman for the world and be misinforming the American people and our allies and countries around the world, to me, somebody has to pay the price for this.” Knowing that the attacks were a result of terrorism, Ambassador Susan Rice went on five networks last Sunday and spewed the Obama Democrat talking points that the attacks were a spontaneous protest of the anti-Mohammad movie trailer.
Rep. Peter King called for the resignation Friday of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice for initially saying that the deadly Sept. 11 assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was spontaneous.
“I believe that this was such a failure of foreign policy messag[ing] and leadership, such a misstatement of facts as was known at the time … for her to go on all of those shows and in effect be our spokesman for the world and be misinforming the American people and our allies and countries around the world, to me, somebody has to pay the price for this,” the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee told CNN.
Senate Foreign Relations Chairman John Kerry (D-MA) and the individual thought to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State if Obama wins reelection, defended Rice in a statement, saying, “I’m deeply disturbed by efforts to find the politics instead of finding the facts in this debate… I’m particularly troubled by calls for Ambassador Rice’s resignation.
More From NRO:
King also called for an investigation into what was known before the attack. “This warrants a full investigation,” he says. “I believe there should be a congressional investigation. I think there should be an internal investigation.”
Benghazi, he adds, “was a hotbed of al-Qaeda activity, of militia activity, of terrorist activity. We knew that the facilities that we were using there were not adequately fortified. These were temporary, basically private residences which had almost none of the protections that a consulate should have.”
“To allow the American ambassador to go there,” he continues, “ to allow us to keep records or documentation there or anything in such an unsecure and such a dangerous area and such unsecure facilities with such little security appears to be gross negligence, and may be criminal negligence.”
Make no mistake about it America, this is a scandal of EPIC proportions that makes Watergate pale in comparison. This was a disgraceful coverup that saw the deaths of four Americans and the President, his campaign minions and the Intelligence agencies played politics during and election year.
Obama Fails as Commander in Chief … Bloomberg National Poll Has Romney Ahead of Obama on Terrorism, 48% to 42% Following Benghazi-gate
LOST IN SMALLNESS, THE FOREIGN POLICY EDITION: Following the terror attacks on the Libyan Consulate on the 11th anniversary of 9-11 and the continued unrest in the Middle East, don’t look now but Romney has taken the lead in the polls on terrorism. America needed a leader and instead they got a politician and a “Campaigner” in Chief.
America needed a leader, they got a joke instead
According to a recent Bloomberg poll, Romney now leads Obama 48% to 42% on terror. Obama’s poll numbers on terror had strictly been driven off the death of Bin Laden and drone attacks. However, that was before the debacle of Libya and the subsequent attempt to play politics and cover it up. Benghazi-gate probably has much to do with this. Barack Obama and his Administration have much explaining to do to Congress and the American as to why there was not more security at US embassies in the Middle East on the anniversary of 9-11 and why Obama and his minion mouth pieces blamed a movie trailer on YouTube for the attacks and murder of the US Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans in Libya. Even after they reportedly knew that it was a terror attack, they still blamed the trailer insulting the intelligence of everyone and the memory of those murdered. President Obama had a chance to act Presidential and be a leader, instead he decided to be the “Campaigner” in Chief instead, played politics and did a “Watergate” cover up of what really happened in Libya. Shameful.
The foreign-policy results of the new Bloomberg National Poll haven’t gotten much attention yet, but the survey contains some bad news for the Obama campaign. According to the poll, Mitt Romney has a 48-42 advantage over Barack Obama on the question of which candidate would be tougher on terrorism. Romney, in other words, has encroached on one of Obama’s signature strengths.
Obama Administration Foreign Policy Cover Up of Benghazi-Gate … Within 24 Hours Obama Administration Knew Benghazi Attacks & Murders Were Work of Al-Qaeda … Bipartisan Democrats & Republicans Support for Answers!
Benghazi-Gate … the Obama administration knew the truth and spread a lie as to what happened.
When a President misrepresents the facts on the economy and gets it wrong people lose money, when one misrepresents the fact on foreign policy, people die. Let’s see if the corrupt liberal media complex let’s Obama skate on this scandal?
So Barack Obama is great on terror and foreign policy, eh? It is being reported that within 24 hours of the 9-11 Benghazi Consulate attacks and the subsequent murders of the US Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans, the Obama Administration knew that it was the work of Al-Qaeda.
However, for days and a week after the heinous attacks and murders, the Obama administration told reporters that the consulate attack was the related to an offensive YouTube movie trailer. They even sent the UN Ambassador Rice out on all of the Sunday Talk Shows touting the movie trailer as the reason for the attacks when they knew otherwise. As stated at the Gateway Pundit, yet at the same time the administration was privately circulating a document with a very different opinion on the murderous attack. Instead of presenting the facts to ‘We the People” and take charge of the situation, Barack Obama instead played politics with the intel and went off to a campaign event in Vegas. How Presidential!
Catherine Herridge from FOX News reported:
“There was this private narrative you see in the intelligence community where they separate what happened in Libya from this YouTube clip and then you have this public narrative that you have from this administration. And I got a hold of this Homeland Security Assessment. It talks about the scope of the demonstrations in the first week after 9-11 and what’s interesting to me is that this intelligence document makes no mention of the YouTube clip. So again, that’s sort of the private narrative but the public narrative from this administration has been that the clip has really prompted the assault not only in Libya but elsewhere in the Middle East.”
It gets worse for Obama and his mouthpiece minions, as reported at The Daily Beast, U.S. Officials Knew Libya Attacks Were Work of Al Qaeda Affiliates. The also confirm that within 24 hours US agencies knew this was a terror attack. Are we really supposed to believe that President Obama did not know and was not made aware? Or did he miss that White House briefing too?
Within 24 hours of the 9-11 anniversary attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi, U.S. intelligence agencies had strong indications al Qaeda–affiliated operatives were behind the attack, and had even pinpointed the location of one of those attackers. Three separate U.S. intelligence officials who spoke to The Daily Beast said the early information was enough to show that the attack was planned and the work of al Qaeda affiliates operating in Eastern Libya.
Nonetheless, it took until late last week for the White House and the administration to formally acknowledge that the Benghazi assault was a terrorist attack. On Sunday, Obama adviser Robert Gibbs explained the evolving narrative as a function of new information coming in quickly on the attacks. “We learned more information every single day about what happened,” Gibbs said on Fox News. “Nobody wants to get to the bottom of this faster than we do.”
The intelligence officials who spoke to The Daily Beast did so anonymously because they weren’t authorized to speak to the press. They said U.S. intelligence agencies developed leads on four of the participants of the attacks within 24 hours of the fire fight that took place mainly at an annex near the Benghazi consulate. For one of those individuals, the U.S. agencies were able to find his location after his use of social media. “We had two kinds of intelligence on one guy,” this official said. “We believe we had enough to target him.”
UPDATE I: US Senator Christie Ayotte (NH-R) stated on FOX News that UN Ambassador Susan Rice is either incompetent or deliberately mislead the American people on the Benghazi terror attack.
UPDATE II: Finally we have bipartisan support in Congress … Republicans and Democrats demanding answers for the Libyan attacks.
Senate Democrats on Thursday will join their Republican colleagues in pressing the administration for more information about the deadly attack that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi.
“I will say that this has now turned into a very bipartisan concern,” Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) told Fox News Thursday morning. “It’s my understanding today that all members of the Foreign Relations Committee — both Democrats and Republicans — are asking the administration for answers. So this is now something that certainly could never be colored as partisan.”
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee said a bipartisan letter is in the works, but did not reveal details of what it would include.
The letter comes as Republicans have attacked the Obama administration’s muddled explanation of what happened in Benghazi on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Barack Hussein Obama Calls Middle East Protests, Attacks & Murder of US Ambassador … “These Are Not Bumps in the Road” … Romney Rips Obama for Comments & Foreign Policy
BUMP IN THE ROAD = OBAMA FAILURE!
This is why Obama avoids interviews and would be crushed if he ever had to deal the the MSM as Republicans must. Obama crumbles like a house of cards when trying to provide his point of view without a teleprompter. This is why Obama opts for the “David Letterman Show” and “The View”.
During President Barack Hussein Obama’s disastrous “60 Minutes” interview, Obama referred to the recent protests, attacks and murders as “Bumps in the Road”. WHAT! The United States had an Ambassador assassinated and a Muslim Brotherhood leader elected in Egypt and Obama considers this a “bump in the road”? How could any one, especially Barack Hussein Obama, who is said to care so much bout America, consider the death of an American … A BUMP IN THE ROAD!!! How callous could one possibly be? How out of touch could Obama also be to view the Muslim Brotherhood take over and a nuclear Iran as just noise and and a “bump in the road. To paraphrase a comment that Obama previous made, Dear Mr. President … “You built this”.
Once is a bad day, but twice in a row should worry Democrats. President Obama followed his gaffe-ridden Univision interview with an outing on Sunday on “60 Minutes” that is destined to wind up in a series of Mitt Romney ads. There was this on the recent developments in the Middle East, including the death of four Americans:
Obama has used “bump in the road” before, in reference to unemployment, which was the inspiration for one of Romney’s best ads. Obama’s “bumps” seems to be what other people would call “failure.”
Mitt Romney Slams Obama for his “bump in the road” comment and failed foreign policy
Via Hot Air, Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer imagining today’s news in an alternate universe where the media is fair. If a Republican had made the “bump in the road” ill advised comment, it would have been a 3 days news story and the corrupt MSM complex would have hammered home just how insensate the GOP candidate was.
