Remembering September 11, 2001 … Do You Remember? Have You Forgotten? … DON’T EVER FORGET!
Remembering September 11, 2001 …
On the 6th anniversary of 9–11, the worst terrorist attack that the United States has ever seen, please say a prayer for the families of those who lost loved ones on that fateful day. Say a prayer and a thank you for all the first responders, the police, the fireman and the rescue workers who gave their lives to help others. Remember the heroic and selfless acts of so many that showed the best of what we have to offer in the face of adversity.
We ask that you please never forget what happened that day. In the days before the sixth anniversary we are reminded by the release of the most recent Bin Laden tapes that we are not out of the woods. We must always remain vigilant. The worst thing that the Unites States and its citizens could ever do is become complacent. That does not mean one has to be paranoid, it means that one remembers 9–11’s true accounts and history.
DO NOT EVER FORGET
Have you forgotten how it felt that day? If you forget history, you are destined to repeat it. Do not let any one ever tell you its time to move on. When you think that its an option, think of the many men, women and children, husbands, wives, sons and daughters who are without their loved ones.

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) – The first new images of Osama bin Laden in nearly three years will be released ahead of the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, al-Qaida’s media arm announced, a move that would end the terror mastermind’s longest period without a message.

3 Suspects Arrested in Germany in Terror Plot Against Ramstein US Air Base
Three suspects have been arrested in a foiled terror plot reportedly against Ramstein Air Base and the Frankfurt International Airport. The three suspects, two Germans, aged 22 and 28, and a 29 year old Turk came to the attention of authorities because they had been observing a US military facility at the end of 2006. All three terrorists had undergone training where else? Pakistan.
(German security officials lead one of three terrorist suspects (L) from a helicopter to Karlsruhe’s federal court. Germany has said it has foiled a “massive” attack with the arrest of three Islamic extremists who were targetting, AFP/DDP )
German federal prosecutor Monika Harms said the three — two of whom were German converts to Islam — had trained at terror camps in Pakistan and procured some 1,500 pounds of hydrogen peroxide for making explosives. And a top legislator said the group could have struck “in a few days,” noting a “sensitive period” that includes the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. (Yahoo News)

Fireworks … Pipe Bombs, Same Difference When you Get Pulled Over By Police and You are Middle Eastern
Two Middle Eastern men, Ahmed Abda Sherf Mohamed and Yousef Samir Megahed, were charged Monday with possession of an explosive device. These two students at the University of South Florida in Tampa, were pulled over and arrested Saturday night in South Carolina and found with explosive devises in their vehicle. Police are stating that they were in possession of pipe bombs. Of course Ahmed and Yousef seem to have a different definition of an explosive device. They call them fireworks. Is there a terrorism connection or is it sky rockets? The mainstream media is deafening with their silence of reporting that the two men were muslim. If it were right wing Christian militia, that would be an entirely different reporting.
Yousef Samir Megahed
They admitted to having what they said were fireworks. Based on the officer’s judgment at hand, based on what he had seen, we judged it to be other than fireworks,” Berkeley County Sheriff Wayne DeWitt said.
Mohamed, 24, said he made pipe bombs from items he bought at Wal-Mart, according to an affidavit with his arrest warrant.
Ahmed Abda Sherf Mohamed
How long did it take for our prediction to come true, that this would be called racial profiling and be damned that they they were in possession of explosive devices? Not long at all.
Mohamed is a native of Kuwait and Megahed is Egyptian, the sheriff said. Both are in the country legally.
Ahmed Bedier, the executive director of a civil rights organization for Muslims in Tampa, criticized the arrest as racial profiling, an accusation South Carolina police refuted.

Hey Pelosi and Democrats Take a Look at the Latest Poll Numbers on Troop Surge in Iraq
This is the last thing that Nancy Pelosi and Democrats wanted to see, poll numbers that show support for the troop surge in Iraq. Growing support for the troop surge as reported by USA Today. Democrats are walking a very dangerous line of defeatism going into the 2008 elections. A dangerous position indeed.
In the latest USA TODAY/Gallup Poll, taken Friday through Sunday, the proportion of those who said the additional troops are “making the situation better” rose to 31% from 22% a month ago. Those who said it was “not making much difference” dropped to 41% from 51%.
About the same number said it was making things worse: 24% now, 25% a month ago.
We have to agree 100% with Sister Toldja that polls should not be the answer to how one governs or conducts a war; however, it is the ultimate measuring stick for Democrats. What, they can’t be consistent with regards to polls either?
I bet House Majority Whip James Clyburn and other defeatist Democrats like him were none too pleased to read the latest poll numbers on the surge, courtesy of USA Today:
To top off this “bad news for Democrats” segment, the Associated Press’ military writer David Burns has an analysis that shows that our troops are making gains in Iraq.
Analysis: Military Shows Gains in Iraq
BAGHDAD (AP) – AP Video The new U.S. military strategy in Iraq, unveiled six months ago to little acclaim, is working.
In two weeks of observing the U.S. military on the ground and interviewing commanders, strategists and intelligence officers, it’s apparent that the war has entered a new phase in its fifth year.It is a phase with fresh promise yet the same old worry: Iraq may be too fractured to make whole.
Over at The Captains Quarters they point out that the once so called anomaly is starting to look more like a trend.
