Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta, directed her former chief of staff at the State Department to “dump all those emails” on the same day that Clinton’s private email server became public.

Hours after the New York Times reported in March 2015 that Clinton may have violated federal records requirements by exclusively using a private server while serving as secretary of state, Podesta emailed Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s top aide at the State Department, instructing her to erase Clinton’s emails, the New York Post reported.

The exchange from March 2, 2015, was revealed in hacked emails from Podesta’s private account that WikiLeaks released Tuesday. The U.S. government has accused Russia of penetrating American political networks to influence the 2016 election.

“Not to sound like Lanny, but we are going to have to dump all those emails so better to do so sooner than later,” Podesta wrote to Mills.

The email, which may indicate intent, was sent at the same time as the NYT story “Hillary Clinton Used Personal Email Account at State Dept., Possibly Breaking Rules” -  which for the first time revealed the existence of Hillary’s email server – hit, and just days before Hillary’s press conference addressing what was at the time, the stunning revelation that she had a personal email account, and server, in her home.

The proposed “dumping” on March 2 takes place two days before the House Select Committee on Benghazi sent Hillary Clinton a document retention subpoena on March 4, 2015, with some hinting the NYT report may have served to tip off the Clinton campaign about the upcoming subpoena.

Mills’ response to Podesta: “Think you just got your new nick name.”

It is unclear which “Lanny” is referred to: the infamous former DOJ staffer Lanny Breuer who quit in January 2013 after telling Frontline that some banks are too big to fail, or, more likely Lanny Davis, special counsel to President Bill Clinton, and spokesperson for the President and the White House on matters concerning campaign-finance investigations and other legal issues.

It is also unclear – for now – which emails Podesta is referring to in the thread, but Podesta adds: “better to do so sooner than later.” We can hope that a subsequent response, yet to be leaked by Wikileaks, will provide more color.

If the exchange is shown to disclose intent to mislead, it will negate the entire narrative prepared by Clinton that she merely deleted “personal” emails and will reveal a strategic plan to hinder the State Department and FBI “investigation.”

According to the most recent WAPO-ABC News poll, the race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton is a tie. However, there is no honest way that Hillary or her minions can spin these poll numbers in a positive light. She has dropped 12 points in just over a week and trending in the wrong direct with a week to go before the election. Making matters even worse for Hillary Clinton is that once again, the American electorate sees her as untrustworthy. Donald Trump has opened up an eight-point advantage over Clinton on which candidate is more honest and trustworthy, leading 46 to 38 percent among likely voters. 90% of Republicans disapprove of Hillary’s handling of the emails, 67% of Independents and even 29% of Democrats. We shall see how this plays out a week from now.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are tied in the new Washington Post-ABC News Tracking Poll which finds Trump now holds an edge on which candidate is honest and trustworthy.

A 59 percent majority of likely voters disapprove of Clinton’s handling of questions about her use of personal email while secretary of state. This number, however, is no higher than the 60 percent who disapproved just over one week ago, before the FBI’s announcement Friday that it may examine additional emails after previously closing its investigation in June.

However, Trump has opened up an eight-point advantage over Clinton on which candidate is more honest and trustworthy, leading 46 to 38 percent among likely voters. The two candidates were tied on this measure the last time a Post-ABC poll asked the question in September; when asked individually, past polls found majorities seeing each candidate as dishonest.

Honesty and Clinton’s emails

Republicans are united in their criticism of Clinton’s handling of questions about her email use while secretary of state, with 90 percent saying they disapprove of her response including 85  percent who disapprove “strongly.” But while Republicans were already very unlikely to consider backing Clinton this year, the issue’s reprisal now threatens her standing with independents and enthusiasm among Democrats.

Fully 67 percent of independents in the latest survey disapprove of Clinton’s handling of questions on this issue (56 percent “strongly”), and even 29 percent of Democrats give her negative marks for the way she’s addressed the email issue.

Independents and Democrats are where Clinton has lost the most ground to Trump on the question of honesty since early fall.

O’Reilly also believes that Comey would not have doe this unless some of the FBI agents looking at the computer gave Comey a heads up and said, this is bad.
