One-Third of Individuals Who Have Signed Up for Obamacare Might Not Get the Coverage They’re Expecting Next Month
ARE YOU KIDDING ME … THE CHAOS CONTINUES!
From the WAPO, just because you signed up for healthcare thru the Obamacare web site, does not necessarily mean that you are enrolled. UNREAL. So now you can’t keep the insurance that you were forced to enroll in that you didn’t want in the first place because the insurance plan you had was canceled by Obamacare. So as ABC News reports, New Obamacare Headache: Is Your Enrollment Real? It is absolutely unbelievable that after all the lies, misinformation, glitches, failed web site and bad law, now those that go to the website do not even know if their enrollment is real. This goes beyond a head shaking moment.
But two days later, his insurer has no record of the transaction, Shlora said, even though his account on the government website indicates that he has a plan.
“I feel like this: My application was taken … by a bureaucrat, it was put on a conveyor belt and it’s still going around, and it’s never going to leave the building,” he said. “I’ve lost hope. If it happens, great.”
The enrollment records for a significant portion of the Americans who have chosen health plans through the online federal insurance marketplace contain errors — generated by the computer system — that mean they might not get the coverage they’re expecting next month.
The errors cumulatively have affected roughly one-third of the people who have signed up for health plans since Oct. 1, according to two government and health-care industry officials. The White House disputed the figure but declined to provide its own.
The mistakes include failure to notify insurers about new customers, duplicate enrollments or cancellation notices for the same person, incorrect information about family members, and mistakes involving federal subsidies. The errors have been accumulating since HealthCare.gov opened two months ago, even as the Obama administration has been working to make it easier for consumers to sign up for coverage, the government and industry officials said.
Figuring out how to clean up the backlog of errors and prevent similar ones in the future is emerging as the new imperative if the federal insurance exchange is to work as intended. The problems were the subject of a meeting Monday between administration officials and a new “Payer Exchange Performance Team” made up of insurance industry leaders.
The idea that one-third of the enrollment records are flawed “doesn’t accurately reflect the picture of what’s happening right now,” White House senior communications adviser Tara McGuinness said.

Democrats Need to Worry About a Lot More than Just Obamacare Web Site Problems in 2014 … They Have a Trust Problem, and That Economy Thing
Hey Democrats, it is not the Obamacare web site that is the from, it is the law, the logistics and the lies …
A WAPO oped penned by Marc A. Thiessen points out the real issues that Democrats should be panicked over for the 2014 midterm election, not the disastrous roll-out or relaunch of the failed web page, Healthcare.gov. There is a reason why no one who voted for Obamacare, only Democrats and no Republicans, never read the 2000 pages of the Obamacare bill before passage. Then, Speaker of the House made the foolish comment, we have to pass the bill in order to see what’s in it. Really? Only politicians with an agenda have to put their hand into the fire to see if they get burned. Now in the wake of the Obamacare roll-out and Americans finally finding out what is being inflicted upon them, they are mad as hell. Democrats are now panicked that they are in trouble for 2014. However, the main issue here is Americans are not just angry about a broken Web site; they are angry about a broken promise.
There is a reason why Obama’s job approval ratings are averaging in the near 30′s. And it is not just about Obamacare, check out his average polling at RCP on handing the economy, it is in the 30′s.
VIDEO – Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) says at 1:03, “if you like the healthcare plan you have, you can keep it”.
- 5.5 million. That is how many people the administration needs to sign up in just 23 days because Obamacare drove them out of their health-care plans. That’s some 240,000 sign-ups every single day, just to break even. Getting that many enrolled in a few weeks would be extraordinarily difficult even if the Web site were working perfectly, which it isn’t.
- 50 million. That is how many Americans will be surprised to find their employer-based health plans dropped or substantially changed next year because of Obamacare. Some will see their plans canceled; others will lose their doctors and see premiums or deductibles rise dramatically.
- 53. That is the percentage of Americans who now say that President Obama is not “honest or trustworthy.” Americans are not just questioning Obama’s competence, they also are questioning his integrity.
- 12. That is the number of Senate Democrats up for reelection in 2014 who are complicit in Obama’s lie. They are on record (and on YouTube) making the same false promise. Democrat Sens. Mary Landrieu (LA) ,Mark Pryor (AR) , Sen. Kay Hagan (NC) , Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (NH), Sen. Mark Begich (AK), Sen. Mark Warner (VA) all in one way or another are on record of making promises that you can keep your heathcare plan if you like it.
- 7. That is the number of states with vulnerable Democratic-held senate seats that also have Republican governors. Why is this important? Because Obamacare premiums are set to skyrocket next year. No wonder the president moved next year’s Obamacare sign-up date to 11 days after Election Day. The flaw in his plan is that the nation’s governors will know the new rates before Election Day. In blue states, Democratic governors may keep the secret, but in red states, such as Alaska, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, North Carolina, New Mexico and South Dakota, Republican governors won’t.
You can fix a web site, maybe … fixing trust, that’s near impossible.
Oh, and by the way, even though Barack Obama has claimed victory and they have met their goals of November 30 … the site still does not work!
George Will Says on Fox News Sunday: “All Hell is Going to Break Loose’ When Employers Dump Plans Due to Obamacare
The Obamacare web site is not the problem, Obamacare is America’s problem …
On Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, syndicated columnist and Fox News contributor George Will discussed the the self-serving administration’s status report on Obamacare that stated its functionality was still months away. Even though they [Obama minions] declared victory on Sunday that they had met their goals. However, as the liberal MSM focuses on the Healthcare.gov relaunch, George Will points out the the worse is yet to come … even more ominous, with potentially much larger implications, he sees on the 2014 horizon when employers start dumping employees on to Obamacare, Medicare and Medicare and “All’ Hell is going to break loose.”
VIDEO: Fox News via NRO/YouTube
“100 million people get their insurance from Medicare and Medicaid, 171 million get it from their employers,” Will said. “Watch the employers. Because if they start dumping people into Medicare and into Medicaid, and the doctors then say, ‘The burdens are too high, and the reimbursement is too low, we’re not seeing Medicaid patients,’ then all hell is going to break loose.”
Full discussion of Obamacare between Fox News Sunday panel can be read HERE of Fox News senior political analyst, Brit Hume; former Democratic congresswoman, Jane Harman; syndicated columnist, George Will; and former Democratic senator, Evan Bayh.
WALLACE: An ad from Organizing for Action, the advocacy group for President Obama, pitching family talks about Obamacare this holiday season.
And it’s time now for our Sunday group: Fox News senior political analyst, Brit Hume; former Democratic congresswoman, Jane Harman; syndicated columnist, George Will; and former Democratic senator, Evan Bayh.
Well, as of midnight, I was going to say we have a new and improved, but I guess it’s an old and improved Healthcare.gov Web site that the administration is touting made dramatic progress. White House officials emphasize, though, the focus should not be on the deadline, it should be on the continuing process of getting it better and better.
Having said that, Brit, don’t they have a lot riding on how this goes, the next few weeks?
BRIT HUME, FOX NEWS SENIOR POLITICAL ANALYST: Of course. I think the website is a little better. We were on it yesterday, just to see what, you know, might be out there, what might be available. The site works better. You can get through and check plans.
Welcome to Obama in Wonderland: Even Though Obamacare Website Not Working Properly, White House Declares Victory Anyway, “We Have Met The Goal”
Welcome to Obamacare in Wonderland, where up is down and right is wrong …
Has the bar ever been set so low for anything that would affect so many American’s lives? Even though the Obamacare web site still has numerous problems and unresolved issues like data being transmitted to insurance companies and crucial system issues involving payments to insurance companies, not to mention security issues … Barack Obama and his minions have declared “VICTORY” and stated that they have met their goals. Of course they have, and you can keep your insurance if you like it also.
The Obama administration claimed victory Sunday for making HealthCare.gov workable for the vast majority of users, a standard that will be tested as millions of people flood the site in the next three weeks.
Sunday marked the passage of the administration’s self-imposed deadline for fixing the broken ObamaCare enrollment website, which serves consumers in 36 states.
The agency that oversees HealthCare.gov said “we believe we have met the goal” of making the system navigable for most people, but cautioned that more problems may lie ahead.
“Dramatic progress has been made,” the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) stated in a report released Sunday morning. “[But] there is more work to be done to continue to improve and enhance the website.”
The mixed message highlights the challenge facing the Obama administration as it seeks to ensure that millions can sign up for individual health plans online by the end of March.
Oh but wait, here is a ringing endorsement that they have met their goals … David Plouffe, President Obama’s former campaign manager said Sunday said on ABC’s “This Week” that it may be years until 2017 before ObamaCare is working “really well.” 2017???!!!??? Hey, wait until 3017, I bet it will be doing gangbusters by then! But wait, I thought Barack Obama declared “Mission Accomplished?”
“This program was designed to be implemented by the states. And in most of the states that are running their exchanges it’s going quite well,” Plouffe told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “You talked about Medicaid expansion. I think it’s just a fact, and it may take until 2017 when this president leaves office, you’re going to see almost every state in this country running their own exchanges eventually and expanding Medicaid. And I think it’ll work really well then.”
They just don’t get it do they, or they just don’t want to admit it. The Healthcare.gov website are the least of their issues. It’s the fact that 5+ million people have lost their healthcare and are peeved. Obama’s promise of keeping their good insurance was a lie. Now Americans are faced with losing their insurance, their hospitals and their doctors. The disaster is just beginning for Obamacare and the pain it is going to inflict upon Americans.
“You see the interest out there … people want healthcare,” Plouffe said. “They’re going to be able to get healthcare.”
“So, if the website is working … people will tell their siblings or they’ll talk their brothers, or sisters or their friends, say I went on, it was pretty easy, I got healthcare. I’m happy with the plan. So, this is going to be something that person to person is going to get fixed or not. And I think what you’re beginning to see is the interest is spiking, because the interest is out there. People just need an easy experience and it hasn’t been easy,” he added.
Plouffe said the administration has gone through a “tough patch” with the botched rollout of ObamaCare, adding that the government shutdown also affected Americans’
The eager liberal media was all but ready to hold Obama’s minions hands to the fire and have an objective, tough and fair discussion about the train wreck called Obamacare. Sure they were. Then a funny thing happened, as opined by Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin.com, Meet the Depressed had a fair and balanced discussion. David Brinkley is shaking his head in embarrassing disgust and shame. The MSM could not wait to gush over Obama and that the website worked better. Um, worked better than what, a crash a minute? So the water-carrying media are all to joyful to say that the Obama administration came thru on their promise to get the website back up and working better … too bad they can’t say the same about Obama’s promises to the American people that they can keep their healthcare insurance if they like it.
Meanwhile, “Meet the Press” had an Obamacare “Reality Check” segment this morning featuring Ezekiel Emanuel and Ezra Klein. David Gregory planned to have somebody on the panel more to the right of those two in order to provide some balance, but Nancy Pelosi was unable to make it.
What a Coincidence … Cancer Patient Bill Elliot Who Spoke Out Against ObamaCare Now Being Audited by IRS
THIS IS REALLY DISTURBING, DO WE REALLY HAVE A GOVERNMENT TARGETING AMERICANS WHO DARE BE CRITICAL OF OMAMA?
Bill Elliot, a cancer patient who lost his insurance due to Obamacare and couldn’t pay the expensive new premiums, went on FOX News, ‘The Kelly Files’ to tell his story. Now, suddenly Bill Elliot is being audited by the IRS, scheduled in April 2014. That is if he actually lives that long. There seems to be an extremely disturbing pattern of the IRS being used as the Obama administrations storm troopers for anyone critical of Obama’s policies or who would dare use their 1st Amendment rights of free speech. The cancer victim had an insurance policy he liked and could afford. Now, thanks to Obamacare, he does not and can’t afford the ridiculous premiums. So what is the remedy for this cancer patient for a president who cares, why have him audited of course.
What a vindictive government! This is still the United States, right?
He went on FOX News where his story was picked up by C. Steven Tucker, a health insurance broker who helped him keep his insurance.
Now suddenly Bill Elliot is being audited for 2009 with an interview only scheduled in April 2014. Assuming he lives that long. That might be a coincidence, but Tucker is being audited back to 2003.
That’s a rather strange coincidence.
Would the IRS actually go after a cancer patient, who had voted for Obama initially, just for appearing on FOX and now being sharply critical of Obama and suggesting that he resign for his health plan lie?
Under the current insane state of affairs, where the IRS was used to silence the opposition, it’s unfortunately entirely possible. The fact that we are even having this discussion shows how badly Obama has undermined confidence in government institutions and the rule of law.
More at Patterico’s Pontifications … hmm, remember when Dr. Ben Carson got audited as well after he was critical of Obamacare at the National Prayer breakfast with Barack Obama mere feet away ?
