James Carville Rips Obama on BP Oil Spill in Louisiana … “Lackadaisical & Naive”

More Hope and Change brought to you by Barack Obama …

Welcome to Barack Obama’s Hurricane Katrina and his “Lackadaisical” and “Naive” approach to the BP Oil spill. The oil is reaching the Louisiana and Florida coast and what is the President doing?

When the going gets tough, Obama goes golfing.

The Obama Administration has been extremely late to deal with the situation that has turned into an ecological disaster. In the wake of the BP oil spill, the Obama Administration continues to drag their feet. Democrat James Carville blasted the Obama Administration, “They are risking everything by this ‘go along with BP’ strategy they have that seems like, lackadaisical on this, and Doug is right, they seem like they’re inconvenienced by this, this is some giant thing getting in their way and somehow or another, if you let BP handle it, it’ll all go away. It’s not going away. It’s growing out there. It is a disaster of the first magnitude, and they’ve got to go to Plan B.”

The Obama go along with BP strategy

From The Huffington Post:

Democratic strategist James Carville and MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews, two reliable supporters of President Barack Obama, have issued withering critiques of the administration’s handling of the Gulf oil spill.

Carville, the famously outspoken Louisianian who was a chief political aide to Bill and Hillary Clinton, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Thursday that the administration’s response to the spill has been “lackadaisical” and that Obama was “naive” to trust BP to manage the massive clean-up effort.

“I think they actually believe that BP has some kind of a good motivation here,” he said. “They’re naive! BP is trying to save money, save everything they can… They won’t tell us anything, and oddly enough, the government seems to be going along with it! Somebody has got to, like shake them and say, ‘These people don’t wish you well! They’re going to take you down!’”

If the LEFT can criticize GWB for delays in dealing with Hurricane Katrina, then it’s more than fair to question President Barack Obama and his handling of this colossal ecological disaster. This is a train wreck and while the disaster continues … an ever present Barack Hussein Obama plays golf.

Has the oil reached Key West?

The US Coast guard is reporting that 20 tar balls have been found off of Key West Florida. They are being sent for analysis to determine if they are from the gulf oil spill. Scientists warn that tar balls have long been found in the gulf and there’s no proof yet that these 20 are from the BP spill.

The fear is that the spill will reach the major currents which will take it all the way up the east coast. Possible damage to marine life and beaches and the economy could be horrendous.

Satellite imagery today from NASA’s MODIS instrument confirms that a substantial tongue of oil has moved southeast from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and entered the Gulf of Mexico’s Loop Current. The Loop Current is an ocean current that transports warm Caribbean water through the Yucatan Channel between Cuba and Mexico. The current flows northward into the Gulf of Mexico, then loops southeastward just south of the Florida Keys (where it is called the Florida Current), and then along the west side of the western Bahamas.

Drill Baby Drill … 72% Support Offshore Drilling, 59% Favor It Off California and New England

Offshore drilling and American energy independence should not come at the cost of another Obama tax.

An overwhelming majority of Americans believe in energy independence and the motto of drill baby drill. A recent Rasmussen poll showed that 71% of voters supported offshore drilling and 59% agreed that the drilling should also take place off the California and New England coats.

Voters support offshore oil drilling more than ever, and most don’t agree with President Obama’s decision to limit where that drilling can be done.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 72% of U.S. voters believe offshore oil drilling should be allowed. Just 12% disagree and oppose such drilling, with another 16% who aren’t sure. This is the highest level of support for drilling found in nearly three years of surveying.

FLIP FLOP? Obama to Open Areas Up to Offshore Drilling

DRILL BABY DRILL … MORE DOUBLE TALK FROM A DESPERATE PRESIDENT.

President Barack Hussein Obama now says, DRILL, BABY, DRILL. President Obama to open up areas to offshore drilling? Well, not really. However, why are we all waiting for the other show to drop and the details of this political ruse.

Interestingly enough, these were hardly the words of energy independence that Obama used during the Presidential campaign.

The official says that “To set America on a path to energy independence, the President believes we must leverage our diverse domestic resources by pursuing a comprehensive energy strategy.”

In June 2008, then-Sen. Obama told reporters in Jacksonville, Florida, “when I’m president, I intend to keep in place the moratorium here in Florida and around the country that prevents oil companies from drilling off Florida’s coasts. That’s how we can protect our coastline and still make the investments that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil and bring down gas prices for good.”

Hmm, didn’t candidate Barack Obama say that McCain’s plan of drilling offshore would not lower gas prices and make us energy independent?

At the 1:10 mark of the Video Obama says,” … but what wouldn’t do a thing is John McCain’s new proposals  to open up Florida’s coast line to offshore drilling”

What might be even more comical or typical these days as we have come to know that the words that come from Obama’s mouth mean nothing is The One criticizing McCain for his change of position on offshore drilling. Gee Obama, what say you? He also stated that when he would be President, he would maintain the moratorium of drilling. Hmm.

The Obama administration is proposing to open vast expanses of water along the Atlantic coastline, the eastern Gulf of Mexico and the north coast of Alaska to oil and natural gas drilling, much of it for the first time, officials said Tuesday.

The proposal — a compromise that will please oil companies and domestic drilling advocates but anger some residents of affected states and many environmental organizations — would end a longstanding moratorium on oil exploration along the East Coast from the northern tip of Delaware to the central coast of Florida, covering 167 million acres of ocean.

Under the plan, the coastline from New Jersey northward would remain closed to all oil and gas activity. So would the Pacific Coast, from Mexico to the Canadian border.

Bipartisanship? Doubtful, more political game playing. Wonder what the GREENERS at the Huffington Post think about this one from The One? Hey but don’t worry about it, just like with Obamacare … it’s not political.

UPDATE I: Republican House Minority Leader Boehner rebukes Obama offshore drilling plan

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) dismissed the president’s plan as not going far enough in opening up U.S. waters for exploration.

Obama’s decision “continues to defy the will of the American people,” Boehner said in a statement, pointing to the president’s decision to open Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico waters, while leaving Pacific and many Alaskan waters largely closed to exploration.

UPDATE II: From Pipe Lines to Pipe Dreams

What Obama speak with a forked tongue? You mean there is a catch … say it isn’t so.

Early reports were that a natural gas leak could have caused a devastating explosion Sunday morning that killed two and injured as many as 100 at a power plant being built south of the city on the Connecticut River.

Homeowners more than 10 miles away said the 11 a.m. explosion at the Kleen Energy Systems power plant on River Road created a shock wave so intense they mistakenly thought the central part of the state had experienced an earth quake.

Medical rescue personnel said two were dead at the site and, of 100 so injured, four were in critical condition.

“There are bodies everywhere,” a witness said. Another witness said many victims may be buried in rubble.

Video below from WTNH, Feb. 7, 2010 via The Raw Story.

Acording to Eyewitness News 3  WFSB, Gov. Jodi Rell activated the Emergency Operations Center after police said at least two were killed after an explosion at the Kleen Energy plant in Middletown.

The Deputy Fire Marshall in Middletown said one side of the building had collapsed. There are reports of people trapped under metal, concrete and steel and a search and rescue operation is underway. On Sunday afternoon, Gov. Jodi Rell approved the use of the urban search and rescue team to assist in the search and rescue operations.

St. Francis and Yale-New Haven Hospitals were on disaster standby to take in injured people from the scene. Surrounding states have also offered their help to assist in the rescue operations.

Fire departments from around the area are responding. Fire officials said it took more than an hour to put out the fire that was caused by the explosion.

Our hearts and prayers are with the families of the deceased and injured.

UPDATE I: The Kleen Energy building, currently under construction as a natural gas and oil plant.

Because the story is so new, details still are sketchy. Some reports say at least 300 people were in the Kleen Energy building, currently under construction as a natural gas and oil plant. The explosion occurred at roughly 11:30 A.M. local time.

UPDATE II: According to WTNH, at least 250 were injured. Two were dead and four were critically injured.
