One Year After George Zimmerman Acquittal in Death of Trayvon Martin, The Defense’s ‘Train Wreck’ Star Witness Rachel Jeantel Speaks Out

It was one year ago on July 13, 2013 that George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the death of Trayvon Martin and the defense’s star witness, let’s rephrase that, train wreck witness Rachel Jeantel speaks out. In an interview with CNN, Jeantel discusses her regrets that she could have said things and acted differently while on the witness stand. She played the victim and blamed the jury for not taking her seriously. Jeantel said, “they judge how they talk, how they look, how they dress.” Jeantel was upset because she felt like she was being judged. ARE YOU KIDDING? Rachel dear, you were a witness in a murder trial. It was the jury’s job to determine whether you were telling the truth and your combative actions and the testimony that Martin told her he was being chased by a “creepy-ass cracker”  was judged. Rachel, here is a free life lesson … we are all judged by our actions every day.

Jeantel was the prosecution’s star witness, yet her testimony was a combative, profanity-laced “train wreck” that likely contributed to Zimmerman’s acquittal.

Jeantel’s curt, colloquial language prompted attorneys to ask her to speak up and repeat herself time and again during the trial, eventually eliciting an exasperated, “Are you listening?” from Jeantel.

She told CNN this week that she wishes she had “acted different” on the witness stand.

We do hope that the experiences that Rachel Jeantel went through during the Zimmerman trial does turn her life around and makes her a better person. As stated in the video above, no one knew it at the time of her testimony, but “she was barely able to read and write at the level of a third grader. Whose fault is that exactly? We can blame public school and Rachel Jeantel as she resisted any efforts of tutoring because it took too long.  However, it appears that she is trying to get her life together and has graduated high school. Good for her!

What happened to Rachel Jeantel was not a matter of a jury falsely judging a book by it’s cover. In 2013 when she took the witness stand Rachel’s book was her cover, no more, no less. Was she smart, no. Was she well versed, not on your life.

‘Creepy a** cracker is following me’

Trayvon Trainwreck – Star Prosecuting Witness Implodes on the Stand – Rachel Jeantel

That is obvious, otherwise she would not have felt the need to change and better herself. People criticized her for her actions and the way she talked because they were horrified by your actions and speech that you thought nothing of. Personally, I blamed at the time the prosecutors more than I did Jeantel because I could never have imagined anyone thinking that she would be a good witness. More so, did they do any coaching?

We can only hope that something good comes from the George Zimmerman murder trail and maybe that is that Rachel Jeantel woke up, grew up and got her life on track.

BUHS Salutatorian Brooks Hamby Was Told Not to Talk About Christianity, He Used His First Amendment Rights and Did It Anyway

KUDOS … this graduating high school senior is wise beyond his years . Brooks has learned at an early age what many people never do, the only way to beat oppression is to stand up to it. Take a good look what American exceptionalism looks like. Having your voice and opinions squelched is not what education is supposed to be. This kid just taught all in the audience, even the parents, stand up and fight for what you know is right.

“In life, you will be told, ‘No.’ In life you will be told to do things that you have no desire to do. In life, you will be asked to do things that violate your conscience and desire to do what is right.”

The Blaze:

“In coming before you today, I presented three drafts of my speech, all of them denied on account of my desire to share with you my personal thoughts and inspiration to you: my Christian faith,” Hamby said. “In life, you will be told, ‘No.’ In life you will be told to do things that you have no desire to do. In life, you will be asked to do things that violate your conscience and desire to do what is right.”

As the crowd started to murmur, Hamby gave his advice: “No man or woman has ever truly succeeded or been fulfilled on the account of living for others and not standing on what they knew in their heart was right or good.”

He then quoted from “the biggest best-selling book of all-time in history” — the Bible.

Koch Brothers Donate $25M to the United Negro College Fund … Sen. Harry Reid (NV-D) Was Unavailable for Comment

Because the mind is a terrible thing to waste, even though Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi do it on a daily basis

Koch Industries Inc. and the Charles Koch Foundation, which are headed by Charles and David  Koch  have donated $25 million to the United Negro College Fund to create a new scholarship program that will help motivated and deserving students not just get to and through school, but to become our next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs. Oh those evil Koch Brothers. What say you Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (NV-D), are you going to vilify the Koch brothers for this as well, like you do as a diversion to create a GOP bogeyman?

UNCF

The billionaire industrialist Koch brothers, known best for shepherding big money to conservative causes and candidates, have given a $25 million grant to the United Negro College Fund, the organization announced Friday.

The money will come from Koch Industries Inc. and the Charles Koch Foundation, which are headed by the brothers. Most of the money ($18.5 million) will go toward a scholarship program. The other $6.5 million is provided for general support to historically black colleges and universities and the UNCF, $4 million of which will be set aside for loan assistance.

The UNCF is the nation’s largest minority education group.

Just how much heat will Michael Lomax, UNCF president and chief executive, receive for the praising of the Koch brothers? He said, “UNCF is proud to announce this new scholarship program that will help motivated and deserving students not just get to and through school, but to become our next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs We are enormously grateful to Koch Industries and the Charles Koch Foundation for their long-standing support of UNCF and for helping to create new opportunities for earned success and a better future for our students.”

Statement from The United Negro College Fund:

The overarching goal of the UNCF/Koch Scholars Program is aimed at broadening educational opportunities so that aspiring African American students can better understand how entrepreneurship, economics, and innovation contribute to well-being for individuals, communities, and society. A key component of the program is based on research from UNCF’s Frederick D. Patterson Research Institute, which found that an annual $5,000 scholarship dramatically increases UNCF’s recipients’ rate of retention and likelihood of completion. Those who graduate with a college degree are expected to earn $1 million more than their peers with a high school diploma over a lifetime. And 79 percent of college-educated African Americans actively participate in the labor force, 3 percentage points higher than Caucasians. Furthermore, multiple studies show that those who earn at least a bachelor’s degree have higher rates of employment, have greater lifetime earnings, are more civically-engaged, and are more likely to establish a college-going tradition in their families. The new program will dedicate $1 million to supporting research to help understand the drivers of success for students in college and beyond.

Charles Koch said, “Increasing well-being by helping people improve their lives has long been our focus.” He went on to say, “We have tremendous respect for UNCF and we are hopeful this investment will further its effectiveness in helping students pursue their dreams.” Just curious Harry Reid, Nanny Pelosi and Barack Obama, what have you really done for African-Americans in pursuing their dreams except keep them government dependent and under this administration more unemployed?

Since Democrats cannot blame GWB anymore and cannot run on Obamacare, the economy or foreign or domestic policy … its blame the Koch brothers 24/7.

The ball is in your court Harry Reid.

First-grader Darin Simak Accidentally Brings Toy Gun To School, Goes the Right Thing, Turns It In and Gets Suspended

More elementary school ignorance with “zero tolerance” … Maybe school administrators should worry less about common core and more about common sense!!!

First-grader Darin Simak accidentally brought a toy gun to school in his backpack when his mother packed a new bag and missed the machine toy gun, he then did the right thing and notified his teacher of the toy, turned it in and then got what every child should when they do the right thing … SUSPENDED!!! The New Kensington-Arnold School District superintendent said that bringing a toy gun to school violates the district’s policy at the highest level and requires a child to be suspended immediately until a meeting can be held to discuss what happened and whether punishment is warranted. Sorry, that may be the case if the gun was found by a teacher or other school administrator, but not when the child turns in the toy gun himself. What kind of idiots do we have running these schools today?

First-grader Darin Simak is a little shy, a little upset and a little confused about why he can’t go back to Martin Elementary in New Kensington, but he knows it’s the result of him bringing a toy gun to school in his backpack Wednesday.

Jennifer Mathabel said her son left his usual backpack in a friend’s car the night before, so he packed another one but missed the toy gun inside.

“So I send my child to school. My child discovers a fake toy gun at about 1:30 p.m. He turns it in to the teacher and he’s sent to the office and suspended,” said Mathabel.

As stated at The Daily Caller, what a message this sends to a child … “I hope young Darin has learned his lesson: If you do something you know you’re not supposed to do, even if it’s an accident, don’t tell anybody or you’ll get in trouble. That’s exactly the message we should be teaching children.”
