Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder Endorses Shorter Prison Sentences for Certain Nonviolent Drug Traffickers

Eric Holder’s Department of Injustice: Are you kidding, are they trying to completely destroy America?

Barack Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder now wants to propose shorter prison sentences for certain nonviolent drug traffickers. Not non-violent drug users, but drug dealers. So as long as you are not violent, you have the green light to traffic and deal drugs, according to Holder.  The U.S. Sentencing Commission proposed in January to modifying the guideline penalties so that many drug trafficking crimes would be tied to shorter sentencing ranges. The Justice Department says the effect would be to reduce by 11 months the average sentence of a drug trafficking offender and would trim the federal prison population by roughly 6,550 inmates over the next five years. GREAT … and we can have 6,550 formerly imprisoned drug dealers out on the streets to traffic in drugs again. BRILLIANT!!!

Drug Deal

Last night Bill O’Reilly had two Democrats on The Factor last night, Patrick Fennedy and Christopher Kennedy Lawford, discussing the ills of the legalization of marijuana. This is just the legalization of pot, Holder wants to set drug dealers free earlier who traffic in even worse things like heroin, crack, etc. Just curious, is Obama and Holder trying to destroy America entirely?

Former Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), a former prescription drug addict who has been one of the most prominent anti-pot voices in America of late, railed against the nascent marijuana industry for targeting teenagers… some time in the future. “They are going to make their money off of people like myself who are addicts and I just don’t think this is the kind of thing that makes our country stronger, families stronger and of course jeopardizes the public health at large.”

Just when viewers may have thought O’Reilly’s next guest would argue the other side of the issue, Christopher Kennedy Lawford came on even stronger against legalization. “The two most damaging drugs on the planet are legal alcohol and nicotine, we don’t need another legal drug,” he said. “Legalization will increase prevalence. Our youth are at risk.”

ABC News:

Attorney General Eric Holder is endorsing a proposal that would result in shorter prison sentences for certain nonviolent drug traffickers, saying the change would rein in bloated federal prison costs and create a fairer criminal justice system.

Holder was to appear Thursday before the U.S. Sentencing Commission, where he was scheduled to announce his support for a commission proposal to lower the guideline penalties for certain drug crimes.

“This overreliance on incarceration is not just financially unsustainable, it comes with human and moral costs that are impossible to calculate,” Holder said in excerpts of his testimony, obtained by The Associated Press in advance.

The harshest penalties, he said, should be reserved for “dangerous and violent drug traffickers.”

Look What Happened When You Took Advice on Twitter Last Night from #Crack Smoking, Drunk Mayor Rob Ford

Would you expect anything less when taking advice from a crack smoking, alcoholic individual?

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was at it again last night giving advice out to folks for the change to daylight savings time. Do you notice the problem from the tweet below? A note to Rob Ford, it’s “Spring forward, Fall back”. The crack smoking mayor instead told folks to turn their clocks back the wrong direction last night, Oops! Well, he had a 50-50 chance of getting it right. Needless to say the Twitter universe fired back mocking Rob Ford. At least he got the change batteries in smoke alarms right.

Why do the feeling that Rob Ford would make a great segment for a DISHTV commercial” … Don’t take advice from a crack smoking mayor “.

Twitter - @TOMayorFord

The comical part of this, beyond the obvious, is that this tweet blunder comes day after mayor’s social media manager resigns from job.

Tom Beyer, the longest-serving staffer of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, announced his resignation on Friday after serving as receptionist for more than three years, due to what he described to NOW Magazine writer Jonathan Goldsbie as “doctor’s orders, really.”

Among his duties, it turned out, was providing information that was served up through social media on the @TOMayorFord account — which the mayor himself has obviously never contributed directly to.

The incorrect tweet was eventually scrubbed from the account and replaced with a new, more accurate one.

Mexican Drug Lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman Arrested in Mazatlán, Mexico by Mexican Marines, US Marshals and DEA

Mexican drug lord, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, was arrested Saturday morning at 6:40 am, February 22, 2014 at a resort in the port of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Guzman is the head of the  Sinaloa Cartel and one of the #1 drug kingpins in Mexico.  Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam said the arrest occurred without a shot being fired. He was caught with an unidentified woman. The 56 year old Guzman had been eluding capture for more than a dozen years. Mexican Marines, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the US Marshals Service carried out the joint operation.

The Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, head of the  Sinaloa cartel, was arrested on Saturday February 22nd at 6 am, inside a resort in the port of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. His capture was the result of an operation coordinated by Mexican and U.S. authorities, as it was informed this morning by The Associated Press.

A senior U.S. official said Guzman was captured alive in the city of Mazatlán, a tourist destination on the Pacific coast of Mexico. The official, who was not authorized to speak about the arrest, gave information on condition of anonymity.

Guzman was arrested overnight in a hotel in the Pacific beach town of Mazatlan, in his home state of Sinaloa.

He had been on the lam since escaping from prison in 2001, and no one — that we know of — came close to catching the drug lord who regularly appears on Forbes magazine list of most powerful people.

The rumor was that with that kind of money, he could be hiding anywhere in the world.

In the end, he was caught just 140 miles from the city of Culiacan, the home base for his Sinaloa drug cartel.

Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman wanted in both Mexico and the United States.

In Chicago, where the city’s crime commission last year named Guzman its Public Enemy No. 1 — a designation originally crafted for Al Capone — authorities praised the arrest. Chicago is among the major destinations of the cartel’s drug flow.

“The arrest of Chapo Guzman is significant,” police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said in a statement. “This is a victory, but we know the tentacles of his cartel still exist and much more work remains to be done. Demand for narcotics will still remain, so we will continue to partner with the DEA as they fight international drug trade, and we will remain focused on our efforts to eliminate the factors that drive violence in our city.”

From New York to Chicago, Texas to San Diego, Guzman and his lieutenants are named in indictments for marijuana, cocaine and heroin trafficking, as well as racketeering, money laundering, kidnapping and conspiracy to commit murder.

Rep. Trey Radel (R-FL) Will Resign His Seat Effective Today … In Wake of Misdemeanor Possession of Cocaine in November 2013

The Politico is reporting that Rep. Trey Radel (R-FL) will resign from Congress on Monday. Reuters is confirming the story as well, that Republican U.S. Representative Trey Radel, who was charged in November with buying cocaine, plans to resign from Congress, effective Monday.

Sadly, Radel has blown his political career up his nose … Although I guess it would have been acceptable if he was caught smoking pot and Barack Obama had stated that there is no difference between cocaine and alcohol.

Cocaine

The first-term Republican plans to send a letter to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) Monday, sources said.

It’s up to Florida Republican Gov. Rick Scott to schedule a special election for Radel’s seat. His southwest Florida district is solidly Republican — Mitt Romney won the district with 61 percent of the vote.

The race for Radel’s seat had begun even before he decided to resign. Republican Paige Kreegel, a former state representative, has already launched a campaign for the 19th district. Kreegel, who finished third to Radel in a 2012 primary, has drawn the support of a super PAC, which has raised $1 million with the intention of helping him win the seat.

As Hot Air opines, “most Republicans wanted him gone after the arrest. Instead, Radel insisted that he would hold his seat after going through rehab. Unless I missed a memo, there hasn’t been any unusual events surrounding his return this month. Perhaps Radel found his welcome back to the caucus chillier than Polar Vortex I or II.” Touche. Let’s hope Obamacare covers drug rehab.

The Crack Smoking Mayor of Toronto Rob Ford to file Mayoral Re-Election Papers Today … Slogan: Put That in your Crack Pipe & Smoke It!!! (Update: It’s Official Ford Registers to Run, Crack is Back)

Rob Ford’s new reelection campaign slogan:  “I’m running again … Put that in Your Crack Pipe and Smoke It!!!”

According to the CBC News, Rob Ford, the crack smoking, often inebriated, sometimes threatening Mayor of Toronto is filing his papers to register for reelection to his current office. Toronto voters do not go to the ballot box for another 10 months, which means 10 more months of bizarre antics from Ford. Although he would be hard pressed to be more bizarre than his antics in 2013 where he admitted to smoking crack, admitted to be often in drunken stupors, ran over female politicians, went on a “F” bomb laced rant as to how he would harm individuals and then the, well, um, the comments to the press that he gets enough pu**y at home. Let the games, or should we say circus begin. You know this is going to be one of the most followed campaigns in the US.

Political Reelection Campaign Slogan: Put That in your Crack Pipe & Smoke It!!!

Just how will his politcal ads end … I’m Rob Ford and I approve smoked this ad?

Rob Ford’s chief of staff says the Toronto mayor, who is coming off a year of one controversy after another, will file papers today registering him as a candidate in October’s municipal election.

Jan. 2 is the first day candidates can file nomination papers with the city clerk’s office for the Oct. 27 vote.

If Ford files his papers Thursday as expected, he will be the first to officially register. So far, only Coun. Karen Stintz and former budget chief David Soknacki have said they will run.

Who knows how Rob Ford will do, he actually has better polling numbers than Barack Obama.

Rob Ford says his record speaks for itself. It certainly does, eh.

UPDATE I: It’s Official … Rob Ford Registers to Run for Mayor … claims he is best Toronto mayor ‘ever’ !!!

Rob Ford wants to frame the mayoral election as a referendum on his fiscal management. And he doesn’t want to talk about his conduct.

As he had promised, Ford was the first candidate to register for the 2014 race. Immediately after he filed his nomination papers at city hall Thursday morning, he revealed his early communications strategy: a relentless focus on money matters, a refusal to address questions about his behaviour while in office.

“I’ve got the strongest track record. I’ve been the best mayor that this city’s ever had. My record speaks for itself,” he told reporters at city hall.
